IMDbAnikuttan (Fahadh Faasil), an electrician by trade, resides with his mother Shanta (Jaya Kurup) in a hamlet close to Wayanad. Because his daughter had fled on the day of her wedding, Radhakrishnan (Jaffer Idukki), his father, had committed suicide. Anikuttan is always plagued by this trauma, and as a result, he despises people of lower castes and becomes bothered by noises—even the scream of a baby annoys him. When it begins to rain hard one monsoon, the neighbours decide to travel to the camp, but he declines. That evening, a landslip occurs, and he is buried as a result. The rest of the film is made up of what happens to Anikuttan, if he survives, and what happens to his mother. The landslip in Rajamala, close to Wayanad, that occurred a year ago is discussed in the second part of the film. You experience shock when you watch the sights because you can only imagine how painful and awful it must have been for those who experienced the suffering. After the intermission, the movie is like meeting death face to face; it seeps into your veins and is superbly done in terms of acting, directing, and technical prowess. Indrans, who played Anikuttan's uncle Surendran, Jaffer Idukki, and Rajisha Vijayan, who played Anikuttan's sister, all performed an excellent job with their roles. Sajimon has done an excellent job with his performers, and his directing is fantastic. For Fahad's performance, this is a must-see film.
