Two creations by the British graffiti artist Banksy can be seen in the film - the one of Jesus crucified with shopping bags in the first scene on the wall when the kids walk away and the second, that of the 'Banksy Rat' at the gateway of the hotel as Vivek enters it. The original image of Banksy Rat held a board that said "You Lie". But in the film, it reads "He Lies". The images were digitally added.
WILHELM SCREAM: Heard in the shot were a severed finger falls in a bowl of water.
The film has many references of using of fingers for commonplace activities such as playing games and attending calls on a touch-screen phone, holding cigarettes, playing 'Rock Paper Scissors' to name a few.
The title was taken from the poem "Sarayuvilekku" by O.N.V. Kurup where the protagonist uses the expression to refer himself- a puppet that was manipulated by invisible fingers. The poem, based on the Indian epic "Ramayana", depicts Ram's emotional turmoil during his last days.
The hands seen in closeup disconnecting Priya's call for the first time are not Arun Omana Sadanandan's, but director Prasanth Vijay's. The original shot was found unusable during editing. Another instance of the director's hands in closeup is when the soup is garnished and taken to serve. These pick up shots were shot months after the principal shoot.
