91mobiles Game-On Summit: The OnePlus 13s is the best compact gaming smartphone under ₹60,000, as per blind testing by 150+ gamers

On paper, a phone’s specs might look impressive. But what happens when it’s put in the hands of real gamers in real gaming scenarios? That’s the question we set out to answer with the industry-first 91mobiles Game-On Summit, an activity designed to understand how flagship smartphones under ₹60,000 perform.

The premise: blind-tested by 150+ gamers

We invited over 150+ gamers from the 91mobiles Tech Tribe community to participate in a blind gaming test. The players didn’t know which phone was which. Labeled simply as Device A, B, C, and D, the smartphones went through a series of gaming sessions using BGMI.

Each participant rated all four phones on five crucial parameters that go beyond hardware specs to truly define the gaming experience:

  1. Touch response and control accuracy
  2. Thermal efficiency
  3. Display clarity
  4. FPS consistency
  5. Overall comfort

The gamers played BGMI on each phone for at least 15 minutes to evaluate the gaming experience fairly. And the idea was to eliminate brand perception entirely to see which phone delivered the best gaming experience when there are no logos or preconceived notions.

The results: a compact performer takes the lead

Device B, later revealed to be the OnePlus 13s emerged as the winner as per the ratings by 150+ gamers.

Gamers rated the OnePlus 13s highest across three of the five parameters: touch accuracy, thermal efficiency, and ergonomic comfort. Nearly 80% of participants also gave it top marks for FPS stability and display clarity, highlighting just how well-rounded the experience was.

91mobiles TestLab validation backs up the performance

Of course, we didn’t just take the feedback at face value. 91mobiles TestLab also conducted its own battery and thermal tests:

  • In a 30-minute BGMI test, the OnePlus 13s had the least battery drop (4%) and lowest temperature increase (3.2°C) against the competition
  • It also topped our PCMark battery endurance test with the OnePlus 13s lasting 16 hours and 34 minutes.

Together, the blind feedback from gamers and our in-house test made one thing clear: real-world gaming performance isn’t just about specs – it’s about how well the hardware is optimised and how ergonomic the device is for playing extended sessions.

Why we did this

There’s no shortage of gaming phones in the market. But more often than not, buying decisions are influenced by marketing, not experience.

The Game-On Summit was our attempt to flip that script. By combining community feedback with independent testing, we aimed to surface genuine insights about what gamers actually value and which phones are delivering on that promise.
