Intel has made some important and big announcements at CES 2022. The chipmaker launched a bunch of new 12th Gen Intel Core H-series processor and the new P-series lineup made for ultra-portable devices. The company also announced that it’ll be shipping its new Intel Arc discrete graphics to OEM consumers. Intel’s Mobileye division also unveiled the new EyeQ Ultra SoC for autonomous vehicles. Let’s take a brief look at all of the major announcements by Intel.
12th Gen Intel Core H-series chipsets
At CES 2022, Intel launched eight new 12th Gen Intel Core H-series mobile processors that are built on the new Intel 7 process node with hybrid design. The line-up is lead by the Intel Core i9-12900HK chipset, which delivers up to 40 percent higher performance than the previous models. The company showcased more than 20 laptops and devices that were equipped with the new H-series chipsets. OEMs such as Acer, Asus, Dell, Lenovo, MSI, Razer, and HP have partnered with Intel to launch these new products to the consumers soon.
Alongside the H-series processors, Intel also unveiled a new line of P-series chipsets that are design for ultra-thin portable laptops. These new processors will bring enthusiast levels of performance to these machines.
Intel Arc discrete graphics
The first Intel Arc graphics (code-named “Alchemist”) products will arrive during the first quarter of 2022.
Apart from the new 12th gen processors, Intel also announced that it has started shipping the Intel Arc high-performance discrete graphics to OEM customers. Intel Arc graphics, codenamed Alchemist, will be available in new mobile and desktop computers from several OEMs such as Dell, Acer, ASUS, Gigabyte, Lenovo, HP, Samsung, MSI, and NEC.
Intel Arc offers industry-leading features such as hardware accelerated Ray Tracing, Xe Super Sampling (XeSS) AI-driven upscaling technology, and Intel Deep Link technology to offer the best discrete level gaming and graphics performance.
Mobileye EyeQ Ultra
Mobileye, a sub-brand of Intel, announced the new EyeQ Ultra system-on-chip designed for autonomous vehicles. It is built on Mobileye’s leading EyeQ technology, and can do the work of 10 EyeQ5 chipsets, all in a single package. The SoC can provide the best power performance to fully self-driving vehicles. Mobileye already has relations with big auto brands such as the Volkswagen Group, Ford, and ZEEKR. Intel also unveiled two other EyeQ chipsets namely EyeQ6L and EyeQ6H, both of which will also be used for autonomous vehicles.
