The 2023 App Store Awards are out with a total of 14 apps and games that won in different categories. The winners were chosen by the App Store’s Editorial team out of 40 finalists. The winners’ list feature apps made by developers from across the world. These are apps not only for the iPhone but all devices under the Apple ecosystem including the iPad, Mac, Apple TV and Apple Watch.

Apple’s list of winners this year include the best app and game for each device. The winners are a mix of apps from different categories including one for trail guides, a makeup sketching app, photo editing, and one for workout routines. App Store Cultural Impact winners
Apple also selected five ‘Cultural Impact’ winners from the App Store. These apps were recognised “for their ability to drive positive change through apps and games.” The list includes Pok Pok, a digital toy room for kids, Proloquo, an accessibility app, Too Good To Go, an app that helps minimise food waste, Unpacking that offers meditative puzzles, and Finding Hannah, a colourful hidden-object game.
Apple also highlighted that generative AI was the trend of the year for apps. There were several developers that started integrating AI in their apps. The same was highlighted by Google when it announced the best apps and games from the Play Store.
