boAt CREST AI platform launched in India; available on select TWS earbuds
boAt has announced ‘CREST AI’, an AI platform built with Google Gemini. With this launch, the Indian audio brand is positioning its latest earbuds as more than conventional listening devices, introducing what it calls ‘Intelligent Ears’, which are earbuds designed to listen, understand, converse, and assist users through voice. CREST AI is available in select boAt TWS from the Airdopes and Nirvana series.
What is boAt CREST AI?
boAt says that the idea behind CREST AI is to make AI accessible without requiring users to reach for their smartphones or interact with a screen. Instead, users can access AI-powered features directly through compatible boAt earbuds using voice commands. At the centre of the platform are three features: Crest Ask, G-Assist, and Crest Translate.

Crest Ask allows users to interact with AI through their earbuds. Users can ask questions, explore topics, learn new information, and continue conversations with follow-up questions without having to type queries on their smartphones.
G-Assist takes this a step further by connecting AI with everyday productivity services. It integrates with Google Gmail, Google Tasks and Google Calendar, allowing users to perform tasks through voice. For example, users can ask the assistant to summarise their day, check their schedule, or reply to an email without opening their phones.
The third feature, Crest Translate, enables real-time two-way translation across more than 25 languages. This is aimed at helping people communicate when they speak different languages, with the translation taking place through the earbuds.
The first product to showcase the new platform is the boAt Airdopes Prime 800 D. Along with CREST AI, the earbuds feature Dolby Audio and 11mm dynamic drivers tuned to boAt’s Signature Sound. The Airdopes Prime 800 D offers up to 45 hours of total playback and supports Multipoint Connectivity. It also comes with four microphones and boAt’s AI-ENx technology for voice and call-related applications.
CREST AI is also available on the boAt Airdopes Prime 701 ANC and boAt Nirvana Ion ANC, giving users multiple options to access the company’s new AI platform. boAt says more CREST AI-powered products will be introduced as it expands the technology across its upcoming audio devices.
AI features are increasingly becoming part of the true wireless earbuds segment. However, they’ve generally been tied to a smartphone or a specific voice assistant. While boAt’s AI features do sound quite useful, we’ll have to see how they actually work in real-time, especially with getting tasks done through specific apps or translating languages.
If you are primarily looking for music, calls, and everyday wireless audio, there are already plenty of options in boAt’s lineup and the wider TWS market. However, if you want to experiment with voice-based AI, CREST AI makes the new boAt earbuds more interesting.
