Here’s why you don’t need a driving licence for driving these electric scooters
Under the new Central Motor Vehicle (Eighteenth) Amendment, the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highway has modified the ‘Category L1’ allowing for those in the age group of 16-18 to drive e-scooters with a 250-watt motor with a top speed of not more than 25 km per hour. With this change, the Government of India is trying to promote safe driving practices among young riders. Having said that, it is always recommended to drive safely and wear a helmet while driving.
