Google Pixel 6a design revealed

The Google Pixel 6a shares the same design language as its elder brothers, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Starting from the front, the Pixel 6a will feature a 6.2-inch flat OLED display with a single centered punch-hole camera and an in-display fingerprint scanner. There are dual rear cameras and a single LED flash housed in a visor-like module similar to the one on the Pixel 6. From these stunning renders, we can see that the Pixel 6a will have a glass back and dual-tone finish. On the right side of the frame, we can see the volume rocker and the power buttons. The volume buttons do look like they are in an awkward position considering the size of the device. The phone will measure roughly 152.2 x 71.8 x 8.7mm (10.4mm including rear camera bump).

On the bottom, we see a USB type-C port along with two grilles, one for the speaker and one for the microphone. There are antenna cutouts on all four sides, and the SIM card housing is on the left side of the device.

Google Pixel 6a specifications (expected)

The Google Pixel 5a that launched back in August had pretty modest specifications such as a Snapdragon 765G and 12MP+16MP rear cameras. So we expect the Pixel 6a to be a step up from its predecessor. The phone could feature a mid-range Tensor processor like a Tensor lite or even a Snapdragon 778G, but we are only speculating at the moment. Since its big brothers had a bump up in camera hardware, we can expect a similar treatment for the Pixel 6a as well. The primary camera may be the same as the Pixel 6 i.e. a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL GN1 sensor.

The Pixel 6a may also come with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. Since the Pixel is all about the software experience, we are expecting the phone to be launched with Android 12 out of the box, with software support for up to 3 years and security updates up to 5 years. It will be interesting to how Google will price the Google Pixel 6a and whether the company plans to launch the device in India.
