How to apply for Voter ID using website
One can easily apply for a new voter ID using the Voter’s Service Portal in a few simple steps:
Step 1: Head over to the official Voter’s Service Portal website
Step 2: Now you need to make an account by clicking on ‘Sign Up‘ in the top right corner
Step 3: Enter the details such as mobile number, email ID, captcha and hit ‘Continue‘
Step 4: An OTP may arrive on your mobile number via SMS. Enter it on the next screen
Step 5: Now login to your newly created account and go back to the homepage of Voter’s Service Portal
Step 6: Under the ‘Forms‘ section, select ‘Fill Form 6‘ button
Step 7: On the next screen, a long form will appear which is divided into 12 sections. All you need to do is carefully fill in the required fields with the correct details
Step 8: Start by selecting your state, district, and assembly constituency followed by personal details such as your name, relative’s name, contact details and so on.
Step 9: In one of the sections it’ll ask you to upload a passport-size photograph along with the date of birth and address proof in which you can use an Aadhaar card, passport, or ration card
Step 10: In the last step, provide your declaration and enter the given captcha. Lastly, select ‘Preview and Submit‘

While it’s easier to apply for a voter ID using a PC or laptop, applicants who don’t have one can do so using the mobile app available on the Google Play Store and App Store.
Step 1: Firstly, download the Voter Helpline app from Play Store or App Store
Step 2: Once installed, open the app and select ‘New User?‘ option
Step 3: Proceed to enter your mobile number and hit ‘Sent OTP‘. Now enter the OTP in the given field once it arrives and tap ‘Submit‘. Type in a password of your choice and your account will be created
Step 4: Now log into the app using your mobile number and password
Step 5: From the main home screen of the app, select ‘Voter Registration‘
Step 6: Tap on the ‘New Voter Registration‘ tab
