Huawei P40 Pro tipped to feature 5,500mAh battery, 50W fast charging

“Huawei P40 Pro specifications could also include a 6.5-inch OLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, and penta camera setup at the back”

Huawei P40 series is reportedly under active development and will succeed the P30 series that debuted earlier this year. Now, a fresh new leak has revealed key specifications of the Huawei P40 Pro, including a massive 5,500mAh battery with 50W fast charging support. While the leak mentions that it will be a graphene battery, some are still sceptical of this as graphene batteries have been rumoured to come to smartphones for many years now. A 5,500mAh graphene battery would be large, but its volume is said to be only 70 percent that of similar lithium batteries. The leak also claims the new 50W fast-charging will only take 45 minutes to charge the battery completely. The in-house Kirin 990 5G SoC is expected to power the P40 series and will have 5G connectivity as well.

Huawei P40 Pro tipped to rock a 64MP Sony IMX686 primary sensor, OIS, a 20MP ultra-angle-wide lens, a 12MP periscope telephoto lens, macro lens and Time of Flight sensor.

Huawei P40 Pro specifications may include a 6.5-inch waterfall OLED Quad HD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate. It is said to offer a screen-to-body ratio of around 98 percent and may have a pill-shaped cutout for dual-selfie snappers, which could house a standard sensor and an ultra-wide-angle lens. In terms of optics, the Huawei P40 Pro is expected to pack Leica-branded penta-camera setup with a 64MP Sony IMX686 primary sensor, OIS, a 20MP ultra-angle-wide lens, a 12MP periscope telephoto lens, macro lens and Time of Flight sensor.

The rear cameras could support 4K video recording as well. The flagship is likely to run on Android 10 with EMUI 10 custom skin. Unfortunately, the leak doesn’t reveal the launch date yet nor the pricing of the Huawei P40 Pro just yet. Since the P30 series was launched in March this year, Huawei might take warps off the P40 series around the same timeline.
