India’s first electric sports bike Ultraviolette F77 launched: Top speed 150kmph, 307 km range

Ultraviolette Automotive has finally launched the Ultraviolette F77 electric sports bike in India for a starting price of Rs 3.80 lakh (ex-showroom). The new electric sport bike enters the Indian EV space with no direct competition in its class. The Ultraviolette F77 will be made available to buyers in two variants, Original and Recon. The electric sports bike can be purchased via Ultraviolette Automotive’s official website. Deliveries are slated to begin first in Bengaluru, the company’s home city, in January 2023. Deliveries in other major cities will follow right after. 

Ultraviolette F77 price in India, availability 

The Ultraviolette F77 electric sports bike has been launched in India for a starting price of Rs 3.80 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The bike is available in two main variants and is called the Original and Recon, each carrying a price tag of Rs 3.80 lakh and Rs 4.55 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The price includes an 8-year / 1,00,000 km warranty. The battery pack on the Original gets a 3 year/30,000km warranty whereas the more expensive Recon model gets a 5 year/50,000km warranty. Both warranties are further extendable. The Ultraviolette F77 will be available in Shadow, Airstrike, and Laser colour options. 

Ultraviolette Automotive has also launched a special edition model which will be limited to 77 units of production and carries a price tag of Rs 5.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). This variant gets a different paint scheme and some mechanical upgrades in the department of performance. 

Deliveries are scheduled for January 2023 in Bangalore followed by Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, and Cochin in Q2 of 2023. Cities like  Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Delhi, and Lucknow will get deliveries in Q3 of 2023 and while Gurgaon, Jaipur, Kolkata, Guwahati, and Ludhiana will get deliveries in Q4 of 2023. 

Ultraviolette F77 specifications

The Ultraviolette F77 Original gets a 36 BHP electric motor that produces 85 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 7.1 kWh battery which combined offers a range of 206 km on a single charge. The Ultraviolette F77 Recon, on the other hand, gets an electric motor that develops 39 BHP of peak power and 95 Nm of peak torque. This electric motor comes mated to a 10.3 kWh battery pack and combined offers an IDC-certified range of 307 km.


The bikes have three riding modes which are Glide, Combat, and Ballistic, with Ballistic being the most performance-oriented of the three. The chassis is a combination of trellis steel and aluminum. The front USD forks and rear mono-shock suspensions are preload adjustable. Braking is taken care of by a 360mm disc with a 4-piston caliper up front and a 320mm disc with a single-piston caliper at the back. All variants of the F77 sports bike get dual-channel ABS as standard. 

The limited edition F77 one-ups the Recon variant and boasts a slightly higher peak power output of 30.2kW and 100 Nm of torque. The limited model also gets an IDC-certified 307km of range. 

In terms of features, the Ultraviolette F77 electric sports bike gets a connected interface that enables features such as turn-by-turn navigation and notification alerts. The proprietary app also extends features such as ride analytics, real-time location, crash detection, and battery statistics to users. The F77 sports bike also has an onboard 5-inch coloured LCD TFT display to show various instrumentation and data. The Ultraviolette F77 also gets LED lighting set up, clip-on handlebars, a stepped pillion seating, and a narrow and slender tail section.
