iPhone 18 Pro leak reveals a narrower Dynamic Island cutout

Highlights

The next iPhone refresh is still some time away, but early leaks are already pointing to what could be the most noticeable change on the upcoming Pro models. According to a tipster on X, new CAD files for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max suggest that Apple may finally shrink the Dynamic Island cutout.

Key design changes

The leaked CAD renders show a visibly narrower Dynamic Island, even if it appears slightly taller. It’s not a big redesign, but a change users will notice immediately since the cutout sits front and centre on the display. The likely explanation could be internal rearrangement. Apple may have moved some Face ID or Touch ID-related components under the display, freeing up space and allowing the cutout to shrink. If accurate, this would be the first big refinement to the Dynamic Island since it debuted with the iPhone 14 Pro.
