iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max delivery dates slip into October in India and US

Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max have started seeing longer delivery times just days after pre-orders opened. While customers who ordered early are still expected to receive their phones on September 18th, Apple’s online store now shows delivery estimates extending into October in both India and the US.

The delay is more pronounced for the iPhone 18 Pro Max, which could leave new buyers waiting almost a month after the phones officially go on sale. For buyers who want one of Apple’s latest Pro models immediately, checking availability through physical stores or other authorised sellers may be worth considering before placing an order with a later delivery date.

iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max delivery dates

On the Apple India Store, the iPhone 18 Pro currently has an estimated delivery window of September 29th to October 6th across its colours and storage variants. The iPhone 18 Pro Max is showing an October 6th to October 11th window. The situation is similar in the US. The iPhone 18 Pro is estimated to arrive between September 29th and October 6th, while the Pro Max is listed for October 6th to October 13th. This means the smaller Pro has a relatively shorter wait, although some orders could still arrive in October.

Both phones are available with 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB storage options. In India, the iPhone 18 Pro starts at Rs 1,64,900, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at Rs 1,79,900. Both models are available in Burgundy, Glacier, Silver and Black.

Should you wait for the iPhone 18 Pro Max?

At these prices, the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max sit in the premium flagship segment, competing with high-end models such as the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and Google Pixel 11 Pro XL. Buyers therefore have alternatives, which are incidentally cheaper at least for now, if Apple’s extended delivery timelines become a problem.

The Pro Max costs another Rs 15,000 over the Pro, so buyers should also consider whether its larger display and other hardware differences are worth the premium. For those who simply want the latest iPhone Pro experience, the smaller iPhone 18 Pro may make more sense, particularly with its earlier estimated delivery.

However, buyers who specifically want the Pro Max should avoid choosing a configuration purely to get an earlier delivery without checking the final estimate. If the phone is not needed immediately, waiting for stock to stabilise could be the better option rather than paying a premium elsewhere.
