Moto G84 5G launched in India last year in September as a mid-range 5G offering. It looks like the company is preparing for a successor, which is obviously dubbed the Moto G85. Recently, the price of the phone was listed on a retail website. Now, the Moto G85 5G has been spotted on the Geekbench platform. Not only does this reveal some key hardware specifications, but the benchmark serves as a good assessment of its performance.
Moto G85 5G Geekbench scores
- The Geekbench listing, as spotted by MySmartPrice, confirms the phone marketing name of the phone officially.
- The phone has managed to score 939 points in the single-core round and 2092 points in the multi-core segment. This suggests the phone will be priced in the range of around Rs 20,000 in India.
- In comparison, the Moto G84 scored 917 in the single-core segment and 2,047 in the multi-core round.
- The Moto G85 5G will look to take on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy F55, which has scored 843 and 2,307 points in the single-core and multi-core Geekbench, respectively.

Here’s what the Geekbench listing reveals about the hardware
The motherboard section mentions ‘malmo‘ which could be an unannounced Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. This is an octa-core processor with six cores clocked at 2.02GHz and two cores ticking at 2.30GHz. There are speculations that the SoC could be the Snapdragon 4 Gen 3.
To recall, the Moto G84 was powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC, which is a bit dated now considering the arrival of the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset. The Geekbench listing further shows the Moto G85 5G will run on Android 14 OS and pack 8GB RAM but there could be other options at launch.
Moto G85 5G: what to expect
The Moto G85 5G’s price has been revealed through a European retail website recently. As per the listing, the phone will be priced at EUR 300, which roughly translates to Rs 27,200 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB model. In comparison, the Moto G84 5G was also launched at the same EUR 299 for the same 12GB/256GB variant. However, the price in India will be slightly lower considering the Moto G84 5G debuted at Rs 19,999.
