Moto X40 was launched in China on Thursday as a successor to the Moto X30. The handset ships with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, a 165Hz OLED display, a 50MP triple camera layout, 68W fast charging support, and Android 13 OS. The Moto X40 is expected to launch in India as the Moto Edge 40. Alongside the Moto X40, Motorola also announced the Moto G53 5G. This affordable handset comes with a 50MP primary camera, a 5000mAh battery, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 5G connectivity. Moto X40, Moto G53 price, availability

The Motorola Moto X40 is priced at RMB 3,399 (approx Rs 40,400) for the base 8GB + 128GB variant, RMB 3,699 (around Rs 44,000) for the 8GB + 256GB, RMB 3,999 (around Rs 47,600) for the 12GB + 256GB model, and RMB 4,299 (approx Rs 51,100) for the 12GB + 512GB variant. The phone comes in Black and Blue colour options.

Moto G53’s price is RMB 899 (around Rs 10,700) for the 4GB+128GB model and RMB 1099 (approx Rs 13,100) for the 8GB + 128GB version.

Moto X40 comes with a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a curved screen, a punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper, a 165Hz refresh rate, DC Dimming, HDR, and 10bit colours. Powering the phone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC paired with Adreno GPU for graphics, up to 12GB RAM, and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. The handset runs on Android 13 OS out of the box.

Moto X40 has triple cameras on the back, with a 50MP primary unit, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 12MP telephoto lens. There is a 60MP unit on the front for selfies and video chats. The phone is equipped with a three-dimensional liquid cooling system.

The Moto X40 packs a 4600mAh battery with 125W fast wired and 15W wireless charging support. There is also another variant of the phone that comes with a 5,000mAh battery and 68W charging.

The Moto phone measures 161.3×73.9×8.5mm and weighs 196 grams. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, GPS, and a USB Type-C port for charging. There is an in-display fingerprint sensor for security and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.

The Moto G53 budget phone comes with a 6.52-inch HD+ display with a punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper and a 120Hz refresh rate. Powering the phone is an unknown Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core chipset paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage that is further expandable. The phone runs on Android 13-based MyUX custom skin out of the box.

Moto G53 has dual cameras on the back, with a 50MP primary unit and a 2MP secondary lens. There is an 8MP front camera for selfies and video chats. 

The Moto G53 packs a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, GPS, and a USB Type-C port for charging. There is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security.
