MediaTek T300 key features

  • The MediaTek T300 has a simplified, reliable antenna design with integrated RF, which claims to extend battery life in 5G devices while reducing development time and costs.
  • The platform is paired with MediaTek’s M60 modem, which claims to reduce power consumption by up to 60 percent in existing 4G technologies and 70 percent in existing 5G technologies.
  • The MediaTek T300 platform can reach peak download speeds of up to 227Mbps and 122Mbps of upload speeds
  • The platform is 3GPP Release-17 standard-rated (5G connectivity standard set by telecommunication organisations) and offers a lot of energy-efficient enhancements.
  • The MediaTek T300 also comes with an 800MHz CPU to ensure the device has a quick response time when activated.
  • The platform features MediaTek’s UltraSave 4.0 technology for reduced power consumption, 5G NSA and 5G SA support, and support for LTE & NR-FR1 (20MHz).
  • It comes with up to 256 QAM DL/UL for reliability, 1T2R MIMO / 1CC for lower latency, and dual SIM single active (DSSA) and network slicing for various IoT applications.
  • What this essentially means is that the MediaTek T300 platform is a chip that is designed to support various wireless networks, including 5G, LTE, and NR-FR1.
  • It includes features and optimisations to reduce power consumption, improve reliability and speed, and support different types of IoT applications.

“MediaTek’s leadership in the 5G industry and power savings expertise will help brands capitalise on the massive market opportunity with 5G RedCap,” said JC Hsu, Corporate Senior Vice President at MediaTek. “T300 combines the speed, reliability, and latency benefits of 5G with the unique cost and power requirements of IoT devices.”
