Nothing Ear, Nothing Ear (a) improved transparency mode details

While replying to a user on X (formerly Twitter), Pei stated that the newly launched Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear (a) earbuds will set to receive an improved transparency mode via a new update without providing a specific timeline.

It is worth mentioning that this mode lets users listen to their surroundings without taking off their earbuds. This feature utilises the earbuds’ built-in microphones to deliver amplified external audio directly into the ears.

The Nothing Ear has been launched in India for Rs 11,999, while the Nothing Ear (a) is priced at Rs 7,999. They can be availed via Croma, Vijay Sales, and Flipkart. The Ear is being offered in White and Black colour options. On the other hand, the Nothing Ear (a) comes in a new Yellow colour option, along with White and Black colours.

Features

Regarding specifications, the Ear flaunts a custom 11mm driver and a ceramic diaphragm and supports LHDC 5.0 and LDAC codec and Hi-Res Audio certification. It features an active noise cancellation of up to 45dB and intelligent noise cancelling. It also has an adaptive ANC and applies automatically to high, medium, and low levels.

The Nothing Ear is said to offer up to 40.5 hours of playtime on a full charge with the charging case. The earbuds feature an IP54 rating, while the case has an IP55 rating. It also features dual device connectivity, Google Fast Pair, and more.

On the other hand, the Ear (a) also features up to 45dB ANC along with the new Smart ANC algorithm that detects environmental distractions and automatically applies high, medium, or low noise cancellation levels. It also supports Hi-Res Audio and is compatible with LDAC codec.

The earbuds are claimed to offer up to 42.5 hours of playback, and 10 minutes of quick charging likely provides up to 10 hours of playback (with case and without ANC), and they also feature an IP54 rating for earbuds and IPX2 rated for the buds’ case.
