Ola Electric responds after Ola S1 Pro fire incident in Pune
An Ola Electric scooter was seen with smoke coming out of its boot or the storage compartment below which the scooter’s battery also resides. The incident took place in the parking lot of DY Patil University in Pune on October 28th. The brand has now put out a statement regarding the same.
Ola Electric claims to have investigated and found out that the fire was caused by the use of aftermarket parts which led to a short circuit. The brand says the battery of the said unit is intact and functional even after the incident. Ola further confirmed that safety is their “highest priority” and that they follow strict quality standards.
The brand urged that consumers only use genuine parts and accessories for their Ola Electric scooters and stated that the customer of this particular scooter is safe and unharmed.
It would be wise to note that aftermarket instalments are never recommended for your vehicles, especially if they require changing internal wiring in any manner.
