OnePlus Pad 3 Pro specs leak, compact tablet also said to be in development

OnePlus may be preparing its most complete tablet lineup yet, with leaks pointing to two very different devices in development. There could be a larger OnePlus Pad 3 Pro and a smaller, more portable model likely to be called the Pad Mini.

According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the Pad 3 Pro will sit above the OnePlus Pad 3 (long-term review), which launched globally in June 2025, keeping the same 13.2-inch form factor but upgrading the internals. It is tipped to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage. On paper, that’s in line with what you’d expect from a flagship Android tablet in 2026. The Pad 3 packed the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset with UFS 4.0 and lesser RAM and storage.

Battery capacity is expected to cross 10,000mAh, though that may not be a headline change. The current Pad 3 already offers a large battery 12,140mAh with 80W fast charging, so the Pro model looks more like a performance-focused update than endurance. Colour options are said to include green and titanium, continuing OnePlus’ recent earthy design direction.

The more interesting addition, however, could be the smaller tablet. The so-called Pad Mini is tipped to feature an 8.8-inch display and run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip. That’s notable because compact Android tablets often step down to mid-range processors. There’s also mention of a soft-light display on the smaller model, which typically reduces glare and eye strain.

This two-device approach points to a shift in strategy. So far, OnePlus has largely followed a one-tablet cycle in the premium and sub-flagship tier, often mirroring OPPO’s hardware. The Pad 3 Pro is expected to remain closely aligned with the rumoured OPPO Pad 5 Pro, suggesting shared development continues. But the addition of a compact tablet suggests OnePlus is looking to cover more ground instead of relying on a single, large-screen device in the upper reaches.

In terms of competition, the Pad 3 Pro would continue to take on premium Android tablets like Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S series, where display size and performance are key. The smaller Pad Mini, on the other hand, would land closer to Apple’s iPad mini, a segment with limited Android alternatives that combine portability with high-end hardware.

The larger Pro model is clearly aimed at users who want a secondary work device for multitasking, media, or even light productivity. The smaller tablet, if priced right, could appeal to users who want something easier to carry without settling for slower performance.
