OPPO F31 series launched in India with slim design, 7,000mAh battery, IP69 protection, and more
OPPO has refreshed its mid-range F-series lineup in India with three new smartphones – the OPPO F31, F31 Pro, and F31 Pro+. While each model differs slightly in design, chipset, and camera hardware, they all share a common theme: a focus on durability and long-lasting performance. The OPPO F31 series boasts an Aerospace-grade aluminium alloy frame, paired with foam and silicone pads that act as airbags for critical components such as cameras, speakers, battery, and more, which can get damaged from minor drops and falls.
This focus on endurance explains OPPO’s claim that the new F31 series meets seven military-grade (MIL-STD) tests, ensuring reliable performance even in extreme conditions such as high temperatures, humidity, rain, dust, and salt mist. Additionally, all three models are certified to IP66, IP68, and IP69 standards, providing protection against dust, high-temperature sprays, and powerful water jets. OPPO also rates the phones to withstand exposure to 18 different types of liquids – including everyday spills like hot tea or coffee.

You may find similar IP and military-grade ratings on other smartphones within segments, but the Aerospace-grade aluminium stands out. The material is currently found on more expensive smartphones, which not only provides a good in-hand feel but also makes the device durable.
OPPO is also ensuring that the protection expands to the display, with AGC DT-Star D+ glass, which is known for its toughness and strong scratch resistance. All of this has been achieved while maintaining the F31 series’ slim and lightweight design.
- The OPPO F31 Pro+ is the slimmest in the lineup, with just 7.7mm in thickness. The handset’s Gemstone colour variant weighs 195 grams, but the Himalyan White and Festival Pink tip the scales at 204 grams.
- The OPPO F31 Pro measures 7.9mm in thickness and 190g in weight for both Desert Gold and Space Grey colour variants.
- The regular F31 is the lightest of them all at 185 grams, but comes in at 8mm. The handset is available in Midnight Blue, Cloud Green, and Bloom Red colour variants.
All three smartphones rock a massive 7,000mAh battery, with 80W SuperVOOC Flash Charge, reverse charging, and bypass charging. Their cameras also remain identical, with dual 50MP + 2MP sensors at the back. That said, the secondary camera on the regular variant is a bokeh lens instead of a monochrome. The OPPO F31 Pro+ and F31 Pro both tout a 32MP snapper in the punch-hole setup for selfies and video calling, the OPPO F31 rock a downgraded 16MP snapper.
The OPPO F31 Pro+ stands out as the most powerful among the three, with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC ticking at its core. This is paired with 8GB/ 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage onboard. Be that as it may, it is a dated chipset, with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 being Qualcomm’s latest mid-range SoC. This leaves the device trailing behind rivals like the iQOO Neo 10, which packs considerably more muscle.
At the core of the Pro model lies MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Energy SoC – the same as its predecessor, OPPO F29 Pro – coupled with 8GB/ 12GB RAM and 128GB/ 256GB storage. That makes it less competitive, especially against OPPO’s own K13 Turbo, which sports the far stronger Dimensity 8450. The regular OPPO F31 smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 Energy chipset, aided by 8GB RAM and 128GB/ 256GB storage, which is also underwhelming for the price.
Display-wise, the F31 Pro+ even sports a slightly taller 6.8-inch AMOLED display, with FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 1,600 nits peak brightness, compared to its younger siblings. Both the OPPO F31 Pro and F31 feature a 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,400 nits, which is lower compared to what rivals are offering.
The OPPO F31 series also features a large 5,219mm square SuperCool VC system to dissipate heat, a dual-engine fluency system, and 72 months of smoothness protection. There is also an Outdoor Mode 2.0 on all three smartphones, which is said to optimise your phone for use in bright, outdoor conditions by enhancing screen brightness, boosting call volume and alerts, and ensuring network performance remains robust.
Speaking of the network, the OPPO F31 series is the segment’s first to feature 5G++, aimed at delivering high-speed internet with more signal frequency bands resources. The handsets run a familiar ColorOS 15 out of the box, with a host of AI features such as Google Gemini, AI VoiceScribe, and AI Call Assistant. Besides these productivity-based tools, the smartphones also feature OPPO’s photo editing tool, including AI Perfect Shot, AI Recompose, AI Clarity Enhancer, AI Reflection Remover, AI Unblur, and AI Eraser 2.0.
The F31 series will get the standard two years of major OS and three years of security updates.
The OPPO F31 Pro+ is priced starting at 32,999, whereas the F31 Pro and F31 will set you back to Rs 26,999 and Rs 22,999, respectively.
The specifications suggest that the OPPO F31 series is aimed more at lifestyle users than at hardcore gamers or camera enthusiasts. OPPO has taken a balanced approach here, offering reliable chipsets for smooth day-to-day use, straightforward point-and-shoot cameras, and a strong emphasis on durability and battery life. On paper, it all looks promising, but the real test will be in everyday conditions.
