OPPO Reno 12 Pro to be the world’s first phone to come with network-free Bluetooth calling: report

Per tipster DigitalChatStation (DCS) via Weibo, the OPPO Reno 12 Pro will be the world’s first phone with a wireless Bluetooth calling facility. Again, there is no description of how this would work but we think it could facilitate some form of short-range communication.

• Processor: DCS says OPPO Reno 12 Pro could house the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ Star Speed Edition SoC. Although nothing else is revealed about the chipset, we reckon this could be an overclocked variant like Snapdragon for Galaxy chips.
• Memory: It could come with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. 

• Battery: You could get a 5,000mAh battery with 80W charging support.
• Cameras: The rear camera setup could consist of a 50MP Sony IMX890 main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide shooter, and a 50MP Samsung GN5 telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom capability. The front camera is a 50MP Samsung JN5 sensor. 
• Others: The phone could also feature a plastic frame, an X-axis vibration motor, an optical in-screen fingerprint scanner, and wireless Bluetooth calling support. 

The OPPO Reno 12 series is expected to launch later this month. A recent BIS listing suggests the Reno 12 Pro is coming to India also. Meanwhile, here’s what we know about its younger sibling:

The regular OPPO Reno 12 is likely to ship with the recently launched MediaTek Dimensity 8250 SoC. On the front, it could have a 6.7-inch OLED screen with 1.5K resolution and a hole punch housing a 50MP selfie snapper. The rear side could have a 50MP+ 8MP+ 50MP triplet.
