OPPO Reno 12 Pro appears on TENAA ahead of launch this week

OPPO Reno 12 series is set to launch in China on May 23rd. The lineup will have the OPPO Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro and these will succeed the Reno 11 lineup. Recently, the renders of the phones surfaced online, revealing the complete design. Now, while we wait for the announcement, the Reno 12 Pro has appeared on TENAA certification in China. What this means is that we now know the hardware details of the Reno 12 Pro.

OPPO Reno 12 Pro hardware revealed

• The OPPO Reno 12 Pro TENAA certification reveals some key hardware details of the phone, including display, cameras, network connectivity and more.
• Firstly, the listing shows the phone will have a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 2412×1080 pixels resolution.

• The OPPO Reno 12 Pro will measure 161.4×74.8×7.55 mm and weigh 183 grams, as per the TENAA listing.
• The battery department mentions there will be a 4,880mAh battery but could be marketed as a 5,000mAh cell at launch. Rumours have it that there will be 80W fast charging support.
• The camera details of the upcoming Reno phone are also revealed. We will get two 50MP sensors and an 8MP third lens. Interestingly, there will also be a 50MP shooter for selfies.
• While the chipset details are under wraps, it will be an octa-core processor with a peak clock speed of 3.25GHz. The only chipset with the said clock speed is the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC.
• This will be paired with 12GB/16GB RAM and 256GB/512GB/1TB storage options. 
• While the TENAA listing only says Android, the version number could be Android 14.

For context, the Reno 11 Pro came with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, which suggests the successor is set to bring some major performance improvements, courtesy of a new Dimensity chipset. The 32MP front camera could be upgraded with a larger 50MP shooter for better/sharper selfies. The 32MP telephoto lens could also be replaced with a 50MP unit.

The recent renders leak showed the phone would come in gold, purple, and black colour options. Besides the Reno 12 Pro, there will also be the vanilla Reno 12 launching on the same stage. The phones will be launched in India as well since the Reno 12 Pro bagged the BIS certification. The announcement might happen shortly after the China debut this week.
