OPPO Reno 12 series’ launch date is officially revealed. The lineup will debut in China on May 23rd and there could be two devices initially: the Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro. There have been multiple leaks and online listings about the phones, revealing bits and pieces of information and hinting us on what to expect.
OPPO Reno 12 series launch details
- After debuting in China, the OPPO Reno 12 series is expected to launch in India considering the predecessors made it to the country.
- The teaser image suggests the phone could be available in a silver/blue colour option.
- The Reno 12 is said to be the first model with the MediaTek Dimensity 8250 processor, while the Reno 12 Pro would come with the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 “Star Speed Edition” chipset.

- Display: The OPPO Reno 12 series is said to sport a 6.7-inch OLED display with up to 1.5K resolution, 2772 × 1240 pixels, 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 1600 nits peak brightness.
- Processor: The Pro variant will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 Star Speed Edition. The vanilla Reno 12 comes with the Dimensity 8250 chipset.
- RAM/Storage: Up to 12GB or 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB or 512GB UFS 3.1 storage. There could be support for virtual RAM as well.
- OS: Android 14 with ColorOS 14 custom skin out of the box.
- Reno 12 Pro Cameras: The Reno 12 Pro is expected to feature a 50MP primary camera with a Sony IMX890 sensor and OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP 2x telephoto camera. There could be a 50MP shooter on the front for selfies.
- Reno 12 cameras: The Reno 12 also has the same set of cameras as the Pro variant.
- Battery: The phone packs a 5,000mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC fast charging.
- Others: An in-display fingerprint sensor, IP65 rating, NFC, and a USB Type-C port for charging.
