The announcement comes shortly after multiple leaks and news about the Reno 16’s global debut in Malaysia and Indonesia. OPPO has yet to reveal the launch date of the Reno 16 series in India. According to the teaser image, OPPO is also bringing the Bubble accessory to India. The OPPO Enco Air 5 is also part of the teaser, and its India launch has already been confirmed.

OPPO Reno 16 series India launch

OPPO has teased the Reno 16 series India launch through a dedicated microsite on the official website. The lineup is also confirmed to be sold through Amazon India. As part of the launch campaign, OPPO is offering a privilege pack for Rs 9, which gets you three coupons: Rs 800 off for exchange, Rs 1,000 discount for the OPPO Pad SE, one OPPO Enco Buds 3 Pro, and a Reno 16 series phone case.

The teaser image also confirms the OPPO Bubble, which is a customisable circular display designed to attach magnetically to the back of the phone. It lets users capture selfies using the phone’s rear camera setup while displaying a live preview on its round screen. This accessory appears quite useful rather than a gimmick, and could appeal highly to selfie lovers.

OPPO Reno 16c India launch tipped

As for the Reno 16 series, although not officially confirmed, OPPO is expected to launch the Reno 16 and Reno 16c in India. The OPPO Reno 15c is said to share similar specifications with the Reno 16F, which is launching in other global markets. It would also be bigger in size compared to the Reno 16, which has a compact 6.32-inch display. The Reno 16c could feature a larger 6.57-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The smartphone is tipped to use the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The rear camera setup could include a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, a 50MP telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. A 50MP selfie camera is also tipped. If the leaked specs are accurate, the Reno 16c could bring upgraded cameras over the Reno 15c, especially with the 3.5x telephoto lens. The Reno 16c may house a 6,500mAh battery with 45W SuperVOOC charging support.

The Reno 16c could be a decent choice for a capable mid-range phone with versatile cameras, dependable performance, and a sizeable battery. For those who can stretch their budget or prefer a more compact phone, the Reno 16 would be a better pick. However, since the Reno 15 series launched only this year, buyers should compare and see which model gives the best value.
