POCO M6 Pro vs Redmi 12 5G: design

As you can notice, these devices are very similar to each other. A reason for this is the fact that both phones are developed by Xiaomi. However, there are certain differences that you should note, starting with the design of the device. 

Both phones come with a glass back but the POCO M6 Pro features a dual-tone design with a large POCO branding at the upper half of the device. It is available in Forest Green and Power Black colour options. The Redmi 12 5G, on the other hand, opts for a more traditional approach with Pastel Blue and Jade Black colours. A gradient back is available with the third Moonstone Silver colour.

Under the hood, both POCO M6 Pro and Redmi 12 5G are practically identical. Both devices are powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset. They get the same 6.79-inch FHD+ 90Hz display and a 50MP primary rear camera. They also feature the same 8MP front-facing camera and a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.

The only real difference between the two devices is in the RAM and storage configuration. The POCO M6 Pro comes in 4GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB variants while the Redmi 12 5G is available in 4GB+128GB, 6GB+128GB, and 8GB+256GB options.

Another thing that differentiates these devices is the price. The POCO M6 Pro starts at a more affordable Rs 10,999 price tag thanks to the fact that there is a 4GB and 64GB storage option available.

The Redmi 12 5G starts at Rs 11,999 and it comes with 128GB of storage. The 6GB+128GB variant of the POCO M6 Pro is Rs 500 cheaper than that of the Redmi 12 5G at Rs 12,999. The top-of-the-line 8GB RAM and 256GB ROM option is only available with the Redmi 12 5G and it costs Rs 15,499.

An important point to note is the fact that POCO M6 Pro is only available through Flipkart at the moment. The Redmi 12 5G on the other hand is available through Mi Home, Mi online store and Amazon. Due to high demand, both of these devices might not be in stock at all times.

The Redmi 12 5G should have better offline availability and post-purchase service availability. The choice really depends on which device you can get your hands on and if you want the slight affordability that comes with POCO M6 Pro’s cheaper starting price and 64GB base storage.
