The POCO X8 Pro series has been spotted multiple times online, signalling an imminent launch. This time, the lineup could include a new ‘Pro Max’ variant, replacing the Ultra model. We’ve already come across leaks about the POCO X8 Pro series’ specifications, and now their design renders have leaked. There’s a POCO X8 Pro Iron Man special edition as well, and this one’s images have been revealed too.

Recent leaked renders shared by tipster PassionateGeekz showcase both devices in black, white, and blue colorways. At first glance, the phones look nearly identical, sporting slim, uniform bezels and a centered punch-hole display.

Both models adopt a pill-shaped rear camera module housing a dual-camera setup. However, a small but noticeable difference sets them apart: the X8 Pro Max features a dual LED flash system, while the standard X8 Pro sticks with a single LED flash.

Adding a bit of flair to the lineup, the POCO X8 Pro Iron Man Edition has surfaced in official-looking images ahead of launch. The device features a muted grey finish accented with gold detailing across the frame and camera module. A stylised image of Iron Man in flight is prominently placed at the center of the rear panel. For fans of themed smartphones and limited releases, this version may carry added appeal, especially if bundled with custom packaging or exclusive UI themes.

The special edition was previously hinted at in certification listings, effectively confirming its development. Importantly, aside from the cosmetic redesign, the hardware is expected to remain identical to the standard X8 Pro.

What to expect from the POCO X8 Pro series

If the leaks are accurate, the POCO X8 Pro Max is positioned as the more premium of the two. It is tipped to feature a 6.83-inch 1.5K TCL M10 OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, peak brightness of 2000 nits, and ultra-high 3840Hz PWM dimming. Under the hood, the device may be powered by MediaTek’s new Dimensity 9500s chipset paired with an Immortalis-G925 MC12 GPU, LPDDR5x Ultra RAM, and UFS 4.1 storage. This is a new flagship chipset by MediaTek, which is confirmed to launch with a POCO phone soon.

Leaks also point to a 50MP Light Hunter 600 main sensor with OIS, backed by an 8MP ultra-wide camera. Selfies may be handled by a 20MP OV20B sensor. This is a modest camera setup that isn’t surprising, considering how the POCO X8 Pro is going to be performance-focused.

The X8 Pro Max is also expected to feature dual stereo speakers, a 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings.

The standard X8 Pro appears to balance performance and battery life. It is expected to feature a slightly smaller and more compact 6.59-inch 1.5K TCL M10 OLED display, still with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2000 nits brightness. Performance may be handled by the Dimensity 8500 Ultra paired with a Mali-G720 MC8 GPU, along with LPDDR5x Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.

On the camera front, the X8 Pro could use a 50MP Sony IMX882 main sensor with OIS, accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 20MP front shooter. Battery capacity could be one of its biggest strengths. The device is tipped to pack a 6,500mAh battery with 100W wired charging and 27W reverse charging. While this setup is good enough, it may still fall short among 7,000mAh+ phones in the segment.

POCO’s X-series has positioned itself as a value-for-performance lineup targeting users who want near-flagship specifications without flagship pricing. If the leaked specifications hold, the X8 Pro Max could blur the line between premium mid-range and affordable flagship territory, especially with its advanced display tech and flagship-level performance. Meanwhile, the X8 Pro seems designed for buyers who want strong battery life and capable performance at a likely lower price point. If you’re currently using an X7 Pro, these leaks suggest significant upgrades in performance and display features, making it potentially worth the wait.

The POCO X8 Pro could also be a good compact option with a performance-focused and strong battery life approach.

As always with leaks, final specifications and pricing will determine real-world value. However, based on current information, POCO appears ready to deliver two competitively specced devices that could strengthen its position in the global mid-range smartphone market. An official launch announcement is expected soon, which should confirm availability and pricing details.
