The Android flagship season is starting soon in India with the OnePlus 15 launching on November 13th, and another smartphone is confirmed as well. The Realme GT 8 Pro has been officially teased to launch in India soon. A dedicated microsite for the phone is now live on Flipkart, confirming its availability too. Realme GT 8 Pro is the brand’s flagship phone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. This phone also debuts Realme’s partnership with Ricoh GR for imaging and photography.

Realme hasn’t revealed the launch date yet, but it’s confirmed to arrive in November, and possibly after the OnePlus 15, as this phone is already claimed to debut as the first Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 phone in India

The Realme GT 8 Pro is touted to be the most powerful GT phone, and with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, it’s claimed to have scored over 4,000,000 on the AnTuTu benchmark. This is a very high score, and it would mean exceptional performance for the phone. We’ll get a clearer picture when we review the phone and put it through various benchmark tests. But we can expect the Realme GT 8 Pro to deliver peak performance given the chipset’s capability.

Since the Realme GT 8 Pro has already debuted, we have all its details regarding specifications and features. The smartphone features a new design with three interchangeable camera modules: square, round, and a “robot” style. The phone comes in White, Blue, and Green colours. The modular design gives buyers flexibility over the design, and might be seen as a refreshing change, too. The overall design of the phone is also quite different from its predecessor, the Realme GT 7 Pro, which has a square-shaped camera module.

The Realme GT 8 Pro is also getting a major upgrade in the battery department, as the capacity has been bumped from 5,800mAh to 7,000mAh. This is coupled with 120W wired and 50W wireless charging. This is possibly the best combination you can get, and that too on a flagship device. On the software front, the Realme GT 8 Pro runs Android 16 with Realme UI 7.0 out of the box. Up front, the Realme GT 8 Pro features a 6.79-inch QHD+ (1,440×3,136 pixels) AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 7,000 nits peak brightness.

Cameras are going to be another highlight for the Realme GT 8 Pro with the Ricoh partnership. It has a 50MP 1/1.56-inch primary camera, a 200MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and 6x lossless zoom, a 50MP ultra-wide camera,  and a 32MP front camera. The smartphone features a dedicated “Ricoh GR Mode,” which is designed in a way to make it feel like using a Ricoh GR camera. The Realme GT 8 Pro’s camera has been finetuned with Ricoh GR to deliver exceptional anti-glare performance, enhanced resolving power, and minimal distortion for clear and true-to-life images. With this collaboration, the Realme GT 8 Pro would be one phone to look forward to for photography enthusiasts.

Realme’s GT series has primarily focused on performance, but with the Ricoh partnership, it seems like the brand is getting serious about smartphone photography. Not just Realme, but brands like Vivo and OPPO have also launched their flagship phones with dedicated photography kits. With such efforts, smartphone photography is evolving even further to achieve DSLR-like capabilities.

Based on official details, the Realme GT 8 Pro brings significant upgrades over its predecessor. The GT 7 Pro earned praise for offering a well-rounded flagship experience at a competitive price, though it struggled with occasional image overprocessing and thermal control during heavy use. With these issues addressed, the Realme GT 8 Pro would be a more refined and capable successor, and one of the most anticipated flagships coming soon. The smartphone is definitely worth the wait for its performance expectations, and now even for photography enthusiasts who are looking for a camera-focused phone, and one that might actually be more affordable than premium flagships.
