Highlights
  • The Realme GT 8 Pro is the brand’s latest flagship powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
  • The device comes with a unique switchable camera bump design.
  • The phone starts at Rs 72,999 for the 12GB+256GB variant, with sales beginning from November 25th, 2025.

This is the month of flagship launches, with all major brands like OnePlus, OPPO, and iQOO coming onto the scene with their respective flagships. Following the launch of OnePlus 15 and OPPO Find X9 series, Realme has introduced its Realme GT 8 Pro with some beefy upgrades in tow compared to its predecessor. Let’s take a closer look at what the device brings to the table.

The Realme GT 8 Pro introduces a unique switchable camera bump design. Users can unscrew the original sphere lens cover and swap it with different modules. The phone comes with two options: a circular module and a rectangular module. You can also remove the cover entirely to reveal a robot-themed inner design. This approach lets users personalise their phone’s appearance to their liking.

The phone is slim at just 8.3mm and weighs up to 218 grams despite packing a 7,000mAh battery. The GT 8 Pro also has Corning Gorilla Glass protection on the front and carries IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings. These ratings mean the phone can handle dust, water splashes, and high-pressure water jets. The phone is available in Diary White and Urban Blue colour options.

The Realme GT 8 Pro features a 6.79-inch 2K display with 1440×3136 pixel resolution. This 2K resolution stands out as a key feature that most flagships skip at this price point. The higher pixel density delivers sharper text, more detailed images, and better clarity for media consumption compared to standard Full HD+ displays. This makes it ideal for watching high-resolution videos, gaming, and reading.

The display combines a 144Hz refresh rate with 7,000 nits peak brightness. The 144Hz mode will mostly work in games, but the rest of the device should still operate at a proper 120Hz. The 7,000 nits peak brightness and 2,000 nits HBM mode allow the screen to remain easily readable even in harsh direct sunlight. The panel also supports 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage for vibrant, accurate colours.

The display uses LTPS technology instead of LTPO. This is a cost-saving measure that provides good performance but lacks the dynamic refresh rate adjustment found in more premium LTPO panels. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass for durability, so it should hold up well against scratches and scuffs.

The realme GT 8 Pro runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. The chip comes with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage, so the hardware on offer is top-notch. To improve its gaming and imaging capabilities, the 8 Elite Gen 5 is also paired with a Hyper Vision AI+ chip and an in-house R1 graphics chip. Users can expect blazing-fast day-to-day performance and exceptional gaming performance based on the hardware.

The Realme GT 8 Pro features a completely revamped triple camera setup. The main camera uses a 50MP Sony IMX906 primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and both OIS and EIS stabilisation. This should deliver sharp photos with minimal blur in most lighting conditions.

The highlight here is the 200MP telephoto camera with f/2.6 aperture and OIS plus EIS with 3x optical zoom and 6x lossless zoom. The high megapixel count should allow users to capture fine details at longer distances. This makes it ideal for zooming into distant subjects like wildlife or sports events.

There’s also a 50MP ultra-wide camera with an f/2.0 aperture. This handles group shots and landscapes. The front gets a 32MP selfie camera with an f/2.4 aperture. To enhance the photography experience, Realme has partnered with Ricoh, a Japanese imaging brand known for its GR series compact cameras. The collaboration brings industry-first Ricoh GR Camera System features to the GT 8 Pro’s 50MP primary camera.

This includes Snap Focus Mode for instant shooting, RICOH GR Film Tone with five classic colour profiles, and RICOH GR Classic Focal Length options at 28mm and 40mm. The main camera uses a 7P lens structure with dual-layer AR coating to reduce ghosting. These features should deliver authentic street photography aesthetics with natural colours and fast capture speeds. The phone comes with Realme UI 7 based on Android 16 out of the box. The brand has promised 4 years of OS updates and 5 years of security updates, meaning the device will remain up-to-date for as long as 2030. The software support is a little lower than other recent flagships like the OnePlus 15 and OPPO Find X9.

As stated earlier, a 7,000mAh battery powers the realme GT 8 Pro with support for 120W fast wired charging, 50W wireless charging and 5W reverse wireless charging. The battery has been substantially upgraded compared to its predecessor and should easily deliver up to 1.5 days of use on a single charge. Given the 120W charging support, charging times should ideally be around 40-50 minutes to completely top off the device.

The Realme GT 8 Pro retails for Rs 72,999 for the 12GB+256GB variant and Rs 78,999 for the 16GB+512GB variant. With bank offers, the net effective price drops by Rs 5,000 for each variant. The device will be available for purchase through Realme’s webstore and Flipkart, with sales beginning on November 25th, 2025.

There’s also a Dream Edition variant with 16GB+512GB storage priced at Rs 79,999. Buyers can avail EMI options of up to 12 months with no-cost EMI on select banks, along with additional bank offers worth Rs 5,000.

Who is it for?

The Realme GT 8 Pro is roughly Rs 13,000 more expensive compared to the Realme GT 7 Pro, but it packs in major upgrades to justify this cost. This device is ideal for users seeking a balanced all-round flagship. Unlike competitors like the OnePlus 15 that focus heavily on gaming and performance, the Realme GT 8 Pro is balanced well across key aspects like cameras, display, software, and battery life.

It suits photography enthusiasts, content creators, and professionals who want flagship power without compromising on versatility. If you need good cameras, long battery life, and customisation options like switchable modules, the Realme GT 8 Pro is worth considering.
