Realme 16 Pro+, Realme 16 prices hiked again in India: here's how much they cost now

[highlights]

Realme 16 Pro+ has received a price hike of Rs 3,000.

The Realme 16 is also costlier by Rs 1,000 across all variants.

Interestingly, the Realme 16 Pro's price has been reduced.

[/highlights]

Realme 16 Pro+ and the Realme 16 have received price hikes in India, again. The Realme Pro+ now starts around Rs 50,000 in India. The Realme 16 is also costlier by Rs 1,000 across all variants. Interestingly, the Realme 16 Pro seems to have become more affordable compared to its last price hike. These frequent price adjustments show no signs of slowing down, fueled primarily by skyrocketing memory costs driven by the global AI boom.

Here's a detailed look at the latest price hikes on Realme phones.

Realme 16 Pro+, Realme 16 price hike

Realme 16 Pro+ (review) now starts at Rs 49,999 for the base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. This is after a price hike of Rs 3,000. The 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB variants now cost Rs 52,999 and Rs 55,999, respectively. The Realme 16 Pro+ now enters a new price segment altogether, facing rivals like the iQOO 15R and OnePlus 15R. It still holds its own with a versatile camera setup, including a 3.5x telephoto lens. The handset also boasts a 144Hz display and a large 7,000mAh battery. So, if performance isn't a deal breaker, the Realme 16 Pro+ is still a considerable choice despite the increased price.

Variant

Old price

New price

8GB + 128GB

Rs 46,999

Rs 49,999

8GB + 256GB

Rs 48,999

Rs 52,999

12GB + 256GB

Rs 52,999

Rs 55,999

The Realme 16 (review) has received a modest price hike of Rs 1,000 across all variants. It was earlier available at Rs 33,999, but now costs Rs 34,999 for the base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The handset stands out for its compact form factor (6.57-inch), a unique selfie mirror design, and a large 7,000mAh battery. It's an overall balanced mid-range phone.

Variant

Old price

New price

8GB + 128GB

Rs 33,999

Rs 34,999

8GB + 256GB

Rs 36,999

Rs 37,999

12GB + 256GB

Rs 39,999

Rs 40,999

As for the Realme 16 Pro (review), it is now available at a starting price of Rs 37,999 for the base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The smartphone was launched at Rs 31,999, but its price had recently been increased to Rs 39,999 for the base model. Interestingly, it's now available at Rs 37,999 on the Realme India website, which means it's a price drop and not a hike.

Variant

Old price

New price

8GB + 128GB

Rs 39,999

Rs 37,999

8GB + 256GB

Rs 42,999

Rs 40,999

12GB + 256GB

Rs 46,999

Rs 43,999

This might actually be a good time to purchase the Realme 16 Pro since it's cheaper than its recent price hike. You should still consider comparing with alternatives like the Motorola Edge 70 Pro and OnePlus Nord 6, which offer better chipsets.

With multiple price hikes taking place frequently, it would be a good decision not to wait and buy the phone that you want. You can still check out sales and look for offers to try and grab the best deal possible on these phones.

Leak suggests iQOO 16 lineup may arrive without an Ultra version in 2026: report

iQOO 16 is tipped for a September launch with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro and 8,500mAh battery, while the Ultra model may be skipped this year.

[highlights]

iQOO 16 may launch in September without an Ultra model this year.

The standard iQOO 16 is tipped to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro and an 8,500mAh battery.

A memory shortage may also be pushing iQOO to space out its premium launches.

[/highlights]

The iQOO 16 series could arrive earlier this year than expected, but it may do so without an Ultra model. A new leak suggests that iQOO is preparing the standard iQOO 16 for a September launch, while the more premium Ultra variant may be skipped for this generation. The leak comes from a reliable weibo tipster who's shared the details in a recent post. Let's take a look at it below.

What the leak says

Tipster Digital Chat Station claimed on Weibo that iQOO will not launch an Ultra series device for this generation. The post also suggests that the company may reserve Ultra models for years when it has a bigger hardware or technology leap to show, rather than updating the lineup on a fixed annual cycle. The conversation has been translated directly from Weibo and is attached below.
[caption id="attachment_706774" align="alignnone" width="645"]Translated from Chinese[/caption]
If that holds true, the iQOO 16 lineup could focus on the standard iQOO 16 and possibly an iQOO 16T instead of an Ultra model. The standard iQOO 16 is said to launch in September with Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset and a battery capacity of around 8,500mAh.

The iQOO 15 Ultra, which launched in China in February, sits as the current benchmark for the series with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, a 7,400mAh battery and 100W wired charging. If the Ultra model is skipped this year, the standard iQOO 16 will likely carry the responsibility of moving the series forward until the next major flagship leap.

If the leak turns out to be accurate, the absence of an Ultra model would leave iQOO with a simpler flagship lineup, but it may also reflect the reality of today's market, where even the base iQOO 15 already feels firmly premium because of constant price hikes.

In that context, an Ultra variant would almost become a reserved luxury rather than a necessary yearly upgrade, making the standard iQOO 16 the more practical choice for most buyers.

Why is it happening?

This move would mark a clear shift in iQOO's launch strategy. Instead of following the iQOO 15 Ultra with another yearly flagship Ultra, the brand may use the iQOO 16 as its main high-end entrant and hold back the Ultra variant until a bigger upgrade is ready. That approach would also fit the tipster's earlier comment that Ultra devices are not meant to follow a strict yearly schedule.

Another possible reason could be the ongoing memory shortage and the price pressure it has created across the smartphone industry. Brands are becoming more selective about launching multiple premium tiers every year.

Some companies now also appear more willing to spread their top-end hardware across fewer launches instead of keeping every sub-series on a fixed timetable. For buyers, that could mean a simpler iQOO 16 lineup, but it also leaves the Ultra space open for a later comeback.

While the phone offers a premium design, flagship-grade performance with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset and Vivo's well-regarded Zeiss camera system, buyers now have several compelling alternatives.

Multiple Snapdragon 8 Gen 5-powered smartphones are already available for under Rs 60,000, offering similar flagship performance for significantly less. Vivo is likely betting that its Zeiss imaging partnership and camera experience justify the premium, but the X300 FE remains an "FE" model rather than the company's top flagship. That distinction becomes harder to ignore now that the standard X300 has been discontinued officially.

At Rs 86,999, the X300 FE is priced alongside flagship phones such as the Samsung Galaxy S26, OPPO Find X9 and Xiaomi 17, all of which offer more premium hardware and features. It also starts above the iPhone 17's launch price of Rs 82,900.

Unless photography is your top priority and Vivo's Zeiss-tuned cameras specifically appeal to you, buyers may find better overall value elsewhere. However, we recommend keeping an eye open for compelling sale offers as the season starts in just a few days.

Redmi K90 Ultra with built-in cooling fan, 8,550mAh battery makes its debut

[highlights]

Redmi K90 Ultra price starts at around Rs 41,800.

The handset features an active cooling fan.

It has been launched in China only.

[/highlights]

Redmi K90 Ultra has been launched in China as a new performance-focused phone with a built-in cooling fan. Similar to the Redmi K90 Max, the new K90 Ultra features a built-in cooling fan on the back of the phone. The handset also offers a large display, runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, and has a massive 8,550mAh battery. For now, there's no word on the global launch of the Redmi K90 Ultra.

In terms of design, the Redmi K90 Ultra looks quite similar to the K90 Max, with the large camera island on the back housing the sensors and the cooling fan. The entire body is aluminium, giving it a distinct look. Speaking of which, the Redmi K90 Ultra's cooling fan is said to have noise levels as low as 32dB and is claimed to reduce the temperature up to 10°C in 100 seconds. The cooling fan also comes with IPX8 and IPX9 ratings for dust and water resistance. This should help with heat dissipation during long gaming sessions and intensive work.

The Redmi K90 Ultra comes in three colour options: Shadow Black, Space Silver, and Sky Blue. For durability, the handset comes with IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings. Although a gaming-focused phone, the Redmi K90 Ultra still looks quite sleek compared to other options from brands like RedGaming and ROG.

Redmi K90 Ultra specifications

The Redmi K90 Ultra features a 6.83-inch 1.5K M10 display with a 165Hz refresh rate and up to 3,500 nits peak brightness. This is a large display with a high refresh rate and resolution, making it a good option for gaming and watching content as well. The handset is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with a D2 discrete graphics chip, LPDDR5X Ultra RAM, and UFS 4.1 flash storage. Although a flagship chipset from 2024, it's still capable of achieving high performance levels.

The handset packs an 8,850mAh battery with 100W wired and 22.5W reverse wired charging support. This battery capacity should be more than enough to last an entire day on heavy usage and more for light users.

With the Redmi K90 Ultra, you get a 50MP primary camera with OIS + EIS, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 20MP front camera for selfies. The camera setup may not be versatile, but it should still deliver good photos and videos for casual photography and social media.

In China, the Redmi K90 Ultra starts at CNY 2,999, which translates to Rs 41,800 approx for the 12GB + 256GB variant.

The Redmi K90 Ultra is clearly targeted at power users who want a performance-focused phone for intensive use and gaming. If you're looking for a phone that can support your gaming needs and heavy usage like video editing, the Redmi K90 Ultra would be a good choice. However, if your priorities are a versatile camera setup, you might want to check out alternatives from brands like OPPO and Vivo. Buyers should still wait for reviews before making a decision, even though the specs look quite promising.

Samsung expectedly teases wider Galaxy Z Fold 8 ahead of Unpacked

Samsung is set to launch its next set of foldables soon and the teasers have started. Here's what to expect.

[highlights]

Samsung has teased a wider Galaxy Z Fold 8 design ahead of its next Galaxy Unpacked event.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is tipped to weigh 201 gms and feature a 7.6-inch foldable display with a wider cover screen.

A Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is also tipped to be released.

[/highlights]

Samsung has begun teasing what appears to be the long-rumoured major redesign for its next-generation foldable smartphone ahead of its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event. Through a series of short videos on social media, the company has, for the first time, teased a noticeably wider foldable, which rumour mills have been calling the "Galaxy Z Fold Wide."

But don't get your hopes high up just yet. The teasers stop short of revealing the phone itself and instead, Samsung uses unusually proportioned everyday objects, including a broken chocolate bar and an incomplete puzzle, to suggest a new aspect ratio. The clips point to a shorter and wider folded design that could make the outer display feel more like a conventional smartphone while also delivering a wider viewing experience when the device is unfolded.
<blockquote class="instagram-media" data-instgrm-captioned="" data-instgrm-permalink="https://www.instagram.com/reel/DaOGJ-pD8cy/?utm_source=ig_embed&utm_campaign=loading" data-instgrm-version="14" style="background: #FFF;

Samsung Unpacked: devices expected to launch

Samsung is expected to unveil multiple foldables at its next Galaxy Unpacked event. According to leaks, the lineup could include the flagship Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra (the standard-sized book-style foldable we've seen all this while) alongside the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8, which is actually tipped to be Samsung's new wide foldable.

Reports claim the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will weigh just 201 gms, making it lighter than several flagship smartphones despite being a book-style foldable. The device is also tipped to measure 4.5 mm when unfolded and 9.7 mm when folded.

The standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to feature a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X inner display with a boxier 4:3 aspect ratio, paired with a wider 5.5-inch cover screen in a 16:10 aspect ratio. The leak suggests Samsung will reserve its traditional taller Fold design for the more premium Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, giving buyers two distinct form factors for the first time.

Samsung's redesign comes as the foldable market continues to evolve. Rivals such as Huawei, Honor and Google have gradually adopted wider cover displays to make their foldables easier to use when closed. Samsung has largely stuck to its narrower design over the years, making this rumoured shift one of the biggest changes to the Galaxy Z Fold series in recent memory. Apple is also rumoured to come with a more passport-style looking iPhone Ultra, signalling a shift in the market.

If the wider design delivers a more practical everyday experience without compromising portability, it could address one of the biggest criticisms of foldables. Buyers should look out for the launch offers shortly after unpacked to get the most value out of Samsung's new form factor.

OPPO Reno 16 chipset details officially revealed ahead of India launch

[highlights]

The Reno 16 lineup is confirmed to launch in India on July 2nd.

Two phones are launching in India, including a Reno 16c.

The Reno 16 will use a different chipset from its Chinese version.

[/highlights]

OPPO's new Reno 16 series is arriving in India on July 2nd. The lineup will bring two phones: the Reno 16 and Reno 16c. Here, the Reno 16c is speculated to be the Reno 16F, which launched recently in Thailand. OPPO has been teasing the upcoming Reno phones, revealing key details. It has now confirmed the chipset details for the Reno 16, which is different from the one in China.

OPPO Reno 16 chipset details

The Reno 16 will be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC, the same chipset used in the Reno 15. While it may not be an upgrade, it's worth mentioning that the Reno 15 is around six months old, so the refresh is quite new. This means that you can expect a similar performance on the Reno 16 and the Reno 15. OPPO claims that the Qualcomm AI Engine in this chipset delivers up to a 65 percent increase in AI performance, enabling it to handle ColorOS 16's multi-model AI architecture more effectively for smooth performance.

OPPO also detailed some AI features for the Reno 16 series, which is launching with Android 16-based ColorOS 16 out of the box. The lineup will debut the AI Snap Key, which records on-screen content and stores it in an organised manner in Mind Space, an intelligent memory hub. These can be a meeting invite, an event detail, or a plan shared in a message. You can also configure the AI Snap Key for other actions.

The Reno 16 series also brings Mind Pilot, which works like an AI assistant bringing Gemini, Perplexity, and ChatGPT in one place. So, instead of switching to different LLMs, you can find all three in one place to get the best responses for your queries. Then there's AI Bill Manager, which automatically turns receipts, screenshots, messages, and voice notes into organized records, so you can track expenses, categories, and multiple currencies with real-time exchange rates.

More features include AI Menu Translation, AI Voice Translation, AI Recording Sticker, and AI Scan. All these features are part of ColorOS 16 and will be available on the Reno 16 series.

Based on the details we know so far, the OPPO Reno 16 appears to heavily focus on AI features for everyday use, a capable chipset, and a compact design. We're yet to know more about the Reno 16, but for now, the smartphone seems like a good choice for those looking for a compact smartphone with flagship-style cameras and premium build quality. That said, we should still wait for reviews to see how the Reno 16 series compares with rivals, and especially, with the Reno 15. The upgrade might seem more meaningful for Reno 14 users.

Apple's biggest leak yet? Alleged iPhone 18 Pro drop test video surfaces after Tata Electronics' data theft

The iPhone 18 Pro is in the centre of a major leak as a data theft from manufacturer Tata Electronics has revealed media related to the development of the phone. Here's the latest.

[highlights]

Tata Electronics is one of the major manufacturers for Apple and a data theft has leaked confidential details.

An alleged drop test video of the iPhone 18 Pro/Max in a titanium silver colour option is circulating online.

The phone is also seen in a burgundy/cherry colour option.

[/highlights]

Apple may be dealing with one of its biggest product leaks yet. Days after manufacturing partner Tata Electronics confirmed it was hit by a cyberattack, alleged images and videos showing the iPhone 18 Pro during internal drop testing have surfaced online.

Tipsters Ice Universe, Evan Blass (EVleaks), Majin Bu, among others, have shared screenshots and videos that appear to show Apple's next flagship undergoing durability tests. Ice Universe described it as "the biggest leak in Apple's history," while sharing a video of the alleged iPhone 18 Pro Max undergoing a drop test.

The leak comes amid reports that confidential Apple documents stolen from Tata Electronics have been circulating on the dark web. Apple hasn't commented on the authenticity of the leaked media, and the images should be treated with caution.

iPhone 18 Pro leaks via Tata data theft

According to a Reuters report, hackers stole more than 200,000 files during the Tata Electronics data breach, including confidential documents related to Apple products. The leaked material reportedly includes supplier information, component lists, engineering documents, emails and images of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max during internal testing. Reuters says several files contain details of hundreds of components, including chips on the main logic board, battery parts and camera modules. The documents reportedly carry Apple's confidential markings and internal codenames for the upcoming phones.

Tata Electronics assembles iPhones in India and has become an important manufacturing partner as Apple continues to look beyond China. Following the cyberattack, Tata said it had restricted access to affected systems and appointed external cybersecurity experts to conduct a forensic investigation. Reuters also reports that Apple is working with Tata to strengthen security measures going forward.

iPhone 18 Pro design leaked

The leaked videos show a familiar design that resembles the current iPhone 17 Pro. Ice Universe says the phone appears durable but remains "surprisingly thick" and heavy, and we agree it looks like that. However, the flat-sided frame, centred USB-C port and triple rear camera layout on the plateau all remain intact, suggesting Apple isn't making major cosmetic changes this year.

pic.twitter.com/jtLh547sfU
— EvLeaks (@evleaks) June 29, 2026

The biggest visible difference appears to be the rear camera module. The camera plateau looks slightly taller and the individual camera rings seem thicker than before, probably hinting at upgraded camera hardware. The images also show what appears to be a silver/grey finish. We're not sure if it's the video quality, but the silver looks more matte, similar to the titanium finish from the iPhone 16 Pro series, rather than the newer iPhone 17 Pro colour option. There is a possibility that Apple has gone back to titanium after using aluminium for the iPhone 17 Pro frame. The dual colour tone seen on the rear of the iPhone 17 Pro also seems to have been done away with for the 18 Pro, as we see a monotone throughout the rear of the phone, which looks nice.

One big reveal is rumoured burgundy/cherry colour option. We found a screengrab shared by Majin showing the new colour option, which could be the anchor colour for the iPhone 18 Pro series later this year.

iPhone 18 pro pic.twitter.com/A2Eldt0MQ8
— Majin (@MajinBuofficia) June 30, 2026
If these images are genuine, we shouldn't be expecting a major redesign with the iPhone 18 Pro models. The upgrades may be slightly cosmetic and incremental, though going back to titanium would be a slightly bigger change. Those hoping for a bold new design may be slightly disappointed, but users prioritising camera upgrades and durability may find the iPhone 18 Pro compelling. The launch is just over two months away, but buyers should be prepared for an upgraded price tag due to the ongoing memory crisis.

Nothing Phone (4a) series reportedly gets third price hike in three months ahead of Phone (4b) launch

The Nothing Phone 4a and Phone 4a Pro prices have reportedly been increased again. Here's what the new pricing may look like.

[highlights]

The Nothing Phone 4a series started at Rs 31,999 when it launched in March.

The Phone 4a is currently available for Rs 37,999, but a report claims its price has been increased again.

Nothing launches a cheaper Phone 4b on July 7th.

[/highlights]

Nothing has reportedly increased the prices of its Nothing Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro once again, marking the third hike since the phones debuted earlier this year in March. According to tipster Sanju Choudhary, the latest revision raises prices by up to Rs 4,000 across the lineup. However, we cannot independently verify the revision as Flipkart, the official seller, is still showing the last hiked prices.

Nothing Phone (4a) series reported new prices

Nothing Phone (4a)

Variant

Launch price

Last price

New price

8GB + 128GB

Rs 31,999

Rs 37,999

Rs 39,999

8GB + 256GB

Rs 34,999

Rs 40,999

Rs 43,999

12GB + 128GB

Rs 37,999

Rs 43,999

Rs 46,999

Nothing Phone (4a) Pro

Variant

Launch price

Last price

New price

8GB + 128GB

Rs 39,999

Rs 49,999

Not revealed

8GB + 256GB

Rs 42,999

Rs 52,999

Rs 54,999

12GB + 128GB

Rs 45,999

Rs 55,999

Rs 59,999

As we said, the new prices, if true, aren't live yet. However, in case there's a hike, the timing is noteworthy. The reported increase comes just days before the expected launch of the Nothing Phone (4b) on July 7th. While Nothing hasn't officially commented on anything, the higher prices could help create a clearer gap between the upcoming Phone (4b) and the existing Phone (4a) series, especially if the 4b launches at a higher-than-expected price.

The increases look even steeper when compared to the launch prices announced in March. The Nothing Phone (4a) debuted at Rs 31,999 for the base variant but now costs Rs 39,999, an overall increase of Rs 8,000 or roughly 25 percent in just three months. The Phone (4a) Pro has seen an even bigger jump.

While Nothing hasn't explained the repeated revisions, rising component costs and changing market conditions could be contributing factors. At the same time, increasing the prices ahead of the Phone (4b)'s debut could also help position the upcoming model more comfortably in the lineup without overlapping too closely with the Phone (4a) series.

Should you buy the Nothing Phone (4a) series?

If you were considering the Phone (4a) series primarily because of its original pricing, it may be worth waiting a few more days to see what the Phone (4b) brings, or check out competitors. Nothing has already confirmed a few details about the upcoming device, and it could offer newer (but lower-specced) hardware at a price that makes more sense relatively.

On the other hand, if you specifically want the Phone (4a) or Phone (4a) Pro and your budget can stretch to its current asking price, buying sooner rather than later may be the safer option. The latest hike and Carl Pei's statements suggest Nothing isn't afraid to revise prices upward, and another increase cannot be ruled out.

At launch, the Phone (4a) Pro went head-to-head with the OnePlus Nord 6, making it an attractive alternative for buyers who wanted Nothing's unique software and design. Today, it sits nearly Rs 10,000 above the Nord 6, making that comparison far less compelling. There are stronger performance-focused options in this price range. However, if Nothing's clean software, Glyph lighting and distinctive design are the reasons you're considering the Phone (4a) series, buying now may be preferable to waiting for another possible price increase.

OnePlus N6 launched in India with MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Apex SoC and 8,000mAh battery: price, specifications

The OnePlus N6 has been launched in India as the most affordable offering in the company's portfolio. Check out its complete details, price in India, and more.

The OnePlus N6 has been launched in India as the most affordable offering in the company's portfolio. The handset is positioned below the OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite for users prioritising long-lasting battery and smooth performance. The handset is backed by an 8,000mAh battery and a MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Apex chipset. On paper, the combination should ensure smooth everyday performance and a backup easily lasting a day or two. Other key specifications of the OnePlus N6 include stereo speakers, a 6.8-inch HD+ display, a 50MP primary camera, and OxygenOS 16.

OnePlus N6 price in India, availability

The OnePlus N6 is priced in India at Rs 22,999 for the base 4GB RAM and 128GB storage option. The top-end 6GB RAM option costs Rs 24,999.

The phone is available in two colour options: Fresh Mint and Midnight Black. The OnePlus N6 will go on sale in India starting 4 July via Amazon.in. As part of the launch offers, buyers can avail of an instant bank discount of Rs 2,000 along with an additional Rs 1,000 Prime Day discount, bringing the effective price down to Rs 19,999. The handset could be a good buy with its discounts, thanks to its massive battery.

Variant

Price

4GB RAM + 128GB storage

Rs 22,999

6GB RAM + 128GB storage

Rs 24,999

OnePlus N6 specifications

The OnePlus N6 debuts with OxygenOS 16 running atop Android 16 out of the box. This is the same software that you get with more expensive OnePlus smartphones launched in the past few years. The software support, however, is limited to two years of major OS and three years of security. While you are getting an identical experience, the longevity is lower than other OnePlus models but on par with the smartphones within its segment.

Powering the smartphone is the MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Apex chipset, which is a slightly upgraded version of the Dimensity 6300 SoC. This is the first time we are seeing this version of the chipset in a smartphone in India. The SoC is paired with an ARM Mali-G57 MC2 GPU and up to 8GB of RAM + 256GB storage onboard. If not the most powerful, the OnePlus N6 should deliver reasonable performance for everyday usage with the setup. There is a 5,300mm2 vapour chamber cooling system to keep its thermals in check.

But the most exciting aspect of the OnePlus smartphone has to be its performance. The N6 houses an 8,000mAh battery, supported by 45W fast charging, bypass charging, and 5W reverse wired charging. A full charge is expected to last up to 3 days between charges. Furthermore, OnePlus claims the smartphone will retain 80 percent battery health even after 7 years. The handset is rated for 1,600 charge cycles and protection against overcharging, drops, flat compression, and extreme temperatures. It is said to be safe for normal use between -20 degrees Celsius and 56 degrees Celsius.

OnePlus has managed to accommodate the large battery in a relatively thin device, measuring 8.8mm in thickness, and a handy design. The smartphone weighs 224 grams and should survive little accidents such as minor drops and falls. This could be attributed to its MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification and ArmorShell Protection comprising tough corners, airbag cushioning, hardened glass, and a reinforced aluminium frame. The OnePlus N6 is rated to survive minor splashes of water and dust with an IP65 rating.

Moving on, the smartphone sports a standard 6.75-inch HD+ LCD display with support for a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,200 nits peak brightness. While the resolution remains modest on paper, the high refresh rate should help deliver smoother animations and scrolling, particularly for users who spend a lot of time gaming or browsing social media.

In optics, the OnePlus N6 features a dual rear camera setup, consisting of a 50MP primary sensor. Up front, the handset sports an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. Camera modes include Night, Portrait, Panorama, Time-Lapse, Slow Motion, Motion Photos, and Dual-View Video, offering users a fairly versatile shooting experience despite the phone's budget positioning.

On the AI front, the OnePlus N6 offer a suite of smart features, including AI Eraser, AI Unblur, and AI Ultra Clarity, along with note-taking assistance, document scanning capabilities, and Google Gemini integration. The phone also incorporates battery-focused AI features designed to optimise charging behaviour and prolong battery health over time.

Connectivity options comprise 5G, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, USB Type-C, OTG, and dual-SIM functionality.

While the OnePlus N6 specifications look respectable, alternatives like iQOO Z11x deliver better hardware at an identical MOP. The handset is powered by a superior MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Turbo SoC and boasts FHD+ resolution. However, its 7,200mAh battery capacity remains inferior to OnePlus N6's 8,000mAh battery.

Aspects

Specs

Display

6.75-inch HD+, 120Hz refresh rate, 1,200 nits brightness

Chipset

MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Apex

RAM and storage type

LPDDR4X and UFS2.0

Rear cameras

50MP + 2MP

Front camera

8MP

Battery

8,000mAh, 45W charging

Software

OxygenOS 16

Durability

IP65, MIL-STD-810H, and ArmorShell Protection

Weight

208 grams

[highlights]

The OnePlus 15R at an effective starting price of Rs 48,999.

OnePlus is offering discounts across its product portfolio.

OnePlus Nord CE6 series is also available with offers.

[/highlights]

OnePlus has announced its offers for the upcoming Amazon Prime Day 2026 sale, with discounts across its flagship smartphones, Nord series, tablets, and audio products. The biggest highlights include the OnePlus 15R at an effective starting price of Rs 48,999, while the OnePlus 13s and OnePlus 13 will be available at their lowest prices yet. OnePlus is also offering discounts on its latest Nord smartphones and bundled accessories for the OnePlus Pad 4.

The sale begins at 12 am on July 4th, and the offers will also be available through OnePlus' own online and offline sales channels. The limited-period offers will be available on Amazon India, OnePlus.in, the OnePlus Store App, and OnePlus Experience Stores. With smartphone demand slowing in India, these Prime Day offers could help drive sales momentum for both the overall market and OnePlus, as attractive discounts encourage buyers who have been delaying upgrades.

OnePlus Prime Day 2026 offers

Among the flagship phones, the OnePlus 13s receives one of the biggest discounts, dropping to an effective price of Rs 46,999 after a Rs 5,000 price cut and an additional bank discount of Rs 3,000. This is a sweet deal for the OnePlus 13s, and recommended for those who want a compact flagship phone. Also, with several reports on the OnePlus 15s not launching in India, it might be the best time to buy the OnePlus 13s instead.

The OnePlus 13 also falls below the Rs 50,000 mark for the first time, making it one of the most affordable flagship smartphones in OnePlus' portfolio. This is after an instant bank discount of Rs 5,000. Although last year's flagship, the OnePlus 13, is still one of the leading phones in terms of performance, battery life, and dependable cameras.

The OnePlus 15R is available from Rs 48,999, after a price drop of Rs 3,000 and a bank discount of Rs 3,000. This smartphone is recommended for those who want a performance-focused handset with a large battery.
[caption id="attachment_701821" align="alignnone" width="1000"] OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite[/caption]
In the mid-range segment, the OnePlus Nord CE6 starts at Rs 29,999, while the Nord CE6 Lite becomes available from Rs 22,999.
iPhone 18, 18e tipped to get upgraded RAM but that may not necessarily be good news

The iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e may come with upgraded RAM but users may still miss out on two iOS 27 features. Here they are.

[highlights]

The standard iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e are tipped to feature 9GB RAM, while the Pro models, iPhone Ultra and iPhone Air 2 could come with 12GB.

The iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e are expected to miss two iOS 27 AI features which require 12GB of unified memory.

The iPhone 18 Pro lineup is expected to launch in September, while the standard iPhone 18, iPhone 18e and iPhone Air 2 could come in March or April 2027.

[/highlights]

Apple may be planning a small memory upgrade for its next-generation standard iPhones, which have been stuck at 8GB RAM for the longest time, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's good news. The phones are unlikely to get the full Apple Intelligence experience as the upgraded RAM may not still be sufficient.

According to supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e will feature 9GB of RAM, up from the 8GB found on the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17e. The extra memory is said to help Apple Intelligence run more smoothly, but it still falls short of the 12GB requirement for some of Apple's latest on-device AI features announced at WWDC 2026.

The latest claim also contradicts an earlier DigiTimes report, which suggested Apple was considering equipping the standard iPhone 18 with 12GB of RAM. If Kuo's prediction is accurate, Apple appears set to continue reserving its most advanced AI capabilities for higher-end models, which could also help differentiate them better and preserve the sales of the iPhone 18 Pro models.

Leaked specifications and features

Kuo claims the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e will ship with 9GB of RAM, while the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, the rumoured foldable iPhone Ultra and the second-generation iPhone Air are expected to retain 12GB.

That distinction is important because Apple has already confirmed that two headline iOS 27 features require at least 12GB of unified memory. These include the ability to adjust Siri's voice with different levels of expressiveness and speaking pace, along with a significant improvement in system-wide speech-to-text dictation. Even with 9GB of RAM, the standard iPhone 18 models are expected to miss out on both features.

Another leak from tipster Digital Chat Station has shed light on the displays expected across Apple's early 2027 lineup. The standard iPhone 18 is tipped to feature a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution, matching the size of the current iPhone 17. The second-generation iPhone Air could get a slightly larger 6.55-inch LTPO OLED panel, while the iPhone 18e is expected to offer a 6.12-inch LTPS OLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate and the same 1.5K resolution. If true, the iPhone 18e would once again miss out on a high refresh rate display despite a slightly larger screen. That could make it a tougher sell, especially as several Android phones in similar price brackets already offer 120Hz OLED panels.

Apple's hardware strategy stands out against the broader smartphone market. Premium Android phones from Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi, OPPO, Vivo and Realme already ship with 12GB or even 16GB of RAM, with many of them using the additional memory to power increasingly capable on-device AI features. Apple appears to focus on using AI as another differentiator between its standard and Pro models.

Expected pricing and release timeline

Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and the foldable iPhone Ultra in September this year. The standard iPhone 18, iPhone 18e and the second-generation iPhone Air are rumoured to follow around March or April 2027 as part of the company's staggered release strategy.

Pricing remains unclear. While earlier reports suggested Apple could absorb the cost of higher memory without increasing prices, that now looks less likely. NAND storage and RAM prices have risen due to supply shortages, and Apple recently increased prices across several products. Outgoing Apple CEO Tim Cook has also indicated that price hikes are becoming difficult to avoid and the company has already raised prices of most of its products except iPhones.

For buyers, the standard iPhone 18 could still deliver a solid Apple Intelligence experience for everyday tasks. However, if Apple's latest AI features are a priority, the Pro models or the next-generation iPhone Air may be the better options.

[highlights]

Vivo has confirmed that the X Fold 6 will launch globally after its China debut, though market availability remains under wraps.

The foldable features a 7,000mAh battery, Zeiss-backed 200MP triple cameras and support for an external 200 mm telephoto lens.

The Vivo X Fold 6 starts at CNY 7,999 (around Rs 1.11 lakh) in China.

[/highlights]

Vivo has confirmed that its newly launched foldable, the Vivo X Fold 6, will not remain exclusive to China. The company reportedly told Android Authority that the foldable will get a global launch, although it hasn't revealed the list of markets or a timeline yet.

The confirmation comes at a time when Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 8 next month. The Vivo X Fold 6 stands out on paper with a large battery, flagship hardware and Zeiss cameras, making it a strong alternative in the foldable segment.

China pricing and storage options

The Vivo X Fold 6 starts at CNY 7,999 (around Rs 1.11 lakh) for the 12GB + 256GB model. The 12GB + 512GB, 16GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB variants are priced at CNY 8,999 (around Rs 1.25 lakh), CNY 9,999 (around Rs 1.39 lakh) and CNY 10,999 (around Rs 1.53 lakh), respectively. Vivo has also introduced a Black Gold Edition with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage for CNY 11,299 (around Rs 1.57 lakh).

For reference, last year's Vivo X Fold 5 debuted in China at CNY 6,999 for the base variant, indicating a notable price increase for its successor.

Key specifications and features

The Vivo X Fold 6 is powered by the 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super chipset and packs up to 16GB LPDDR5X Ultra RAM with up to 1TB UFS 4.1 storage. It runs Android 16-based OriginOS 6 Fold.

Its biggest highlight is the 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, one of the largest on any foldable smartphone. Vivo has managed to fit the large battery into a relatively slim chassis that measures 4.4 mm when unfolded and 9.4 mm when folded. At 228 gms, it is only slightly heavier than rivals like the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Honor Magic V6.

Compared to rivals, the X Fold 6's battery capacity is its biggest advantage. Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 7 packs a 4,400mAh battery, the OPPO Find N6 offers 6,000mAh, while the Honor Magic V6 comes with a 6,660mAh cell. Only the Chinese 1TB variant of the Honor Magic V6 has a larger 7,150mAh battery.

The foldable sports an 8.02-inch Samsung M14 AMOLED inner display and a 6.51-inch AMOLED cover display. Both offer a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR support and up to 5,000 nits peak brightness. Vivo says the hinge is rated for 600,000 folds, while the phone also carries IP58 and IP59 ratings for dust and water resistance.

For photography, the X Fold 6 features a Zeiss-backed triple rear camera setup comprising a 200MP primary sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide camera and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens. Vivo has also introduced support for a second-generation 200mm external telephoto lens, a feature aimed at photography enthusiasts. Other highlights include dual 20MP selfie cameras, 80W wired charging, 40W wireless charging, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and NavIC support.

Expected India launch

Vivo has only confirmed that the X Fold 6 will launch globally and has not announced the markets that will receive it. The company has previously brought premium foldables such as the X Fold 3 Pro and X Fold 5 to India, so a launch in the country remains a possibility. If the X Fold 6 does arrive in India, it could offer buyers a compelling alternative for those who prioritise battery life, fast charging and camera versatility. That said, prospective buyers may want to wait for Vivo's regional launch plans and pricing before making a purchase decision.

Motorola Edge 70 Max appears on WPC certification, confirms name, 25W wireless charging

[highlights]

Motorola Edge 70 Max moniker has been confirmed.

The smartphone is expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset.

It will be the first Max model in the lineup.

[/highlights]

Motorola's rumoured Edge 70 Max has made its first official appearance, with the smartphone surfacing on the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) certification database. While certification listings often reveal only limited details, this one is significant as it officially confirms both the Motorola Edge 70 Max branding and the phone's existence ahead of launch.

Motorola Edge 70 Max confirmed

The WPC listing confirms 25W wireless charging support for the Edge 70 Max, making it one of Motorola's fastest wireless charging implementations in the Edge lineup. More importantly, the WPC certification includes renders of the smartphone, which show a curved screen, different from the flat design that leaked earlier this month.

The previously leaked renders had revealed one of the biggest design changes Motorola has made to its Edge lineup in years. Unlike previous Edge smartphones, which largely relied on curved displays (except for select Neo models), the Edge 70 Max adopts a completely flat display paired with flat aluminium-style frames. A flat display would mean improved grip and fewer accidental touches compared to curved screens.

But based on this certification, it appears that Motorola might continue with a curved screen for the Edge 70 Max. The camera design is also slightly different on both phones.

The smartphone is tipped to launch in Onyx Black, Sage Green, and Glacier Blue colour options, which will most likely be Pantone certified. Previously leaked marketing materials also suggest the Edge 70 Max will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. If accurate, that would place it alongside Motorola's most premium phone yet, the Motorola Signature, since it uses the same processor. The leaked renders also confirm a triple-camera setup, possibly of a main camera, an ultra-wide lens, and a telephoto lens.

The Edge 70 Max is particularly noteworthy because it is the first 'Max' branded smartphone in Motorola's Edge series, expanding a lineup that already includes the Edge 70 Fusion, Edge 70 Pro, and Edge 70 Pro+. Based on everything revealed so far, the Max variant is shaping up to be the most premium and powerful model in the series. The Motorola Edge 70 Max could be a good option for those who want a performance-focused phone that doesn't compromise on design or cameras.

If these leaked specs hold, the Edge 70 Max could be worth waiting for if you prioritise flagship-grade performance and versatile cameras.

WhatsApp username reservations begin globally: here's how to claim yours

WhatsApp has started rolling out username reservations globally, allowing users to claim a unique username before the feature launches later this year.

[highlights]

WhatsApp has started rolling out username reservations globally, allowing users to claim a unique username.

The feature is expected to launch later this year.

WhatsApp will not offer a public username directory or discovery system.

[/highlights]

In one of its biggest privacy-focused updates in recent years, WhatsApp has started rolling out username reservations globally. The feature allows users to reserve a unique username before usernames become available for everyone later this year. This comes a few weeks after a report in April claimed WhatsApp had started rolling out usernames in order to let users chat without sharing phone numbers.

Once the feature rolls out to your account, you'll receive an in-app notification and can reserve a username by heading to Settings. WhatsApp says reservations are opening early because, with more than three billion users worldwide, many people are expected to compete for the same usernames.

How to reserve your WhatsApp username

To reserve a username, update WhatsApp to the latest version and navigate to Settings > Account > Username on Android. On iPhone, the option appears under your profile settings once it becomes available. Users will receive an in-app notification as the rollout reaches their account.

WhatsApp is also allowing creators, businesses and organisations to claim usernames that match their existing Instagram or Facebook handles, provided they are available. High-profile usernames belonging to celebrities, public figures and government entities have already been reserved by WhatsApp to reduce the risk of impersonation.

Feature rules and restrictions

Unlike traditional WhatsApp accounts, usernames will let users chat with new people, businesses, and groups without revealing their phone numbers. The company says the feature is optional and is designed to give users greater control over who can see their phone number.

WhatsApp has made it clear that usernames are not intended to function like social media handles. There will be no public directory or recommendation system for discovering users. Instead, someone will need to know your exact username before they can contact you for the first time.

The company is also introducing an optional username key, which acts as an additional layer of protection. Even if someone knows your username, they will need this key before starting a conversation if you choose to enable the feature. Usernames can also differ from your Instagram, Facebook or other social media handles, although matching names can be claimed where eligible.

Impact on privacy

Usernames address one of WhatsApp's biggest privacy limitations by allowing users to connect without sharing their phone numbers with strangers. The feature brings WhatsApp closer to messaging platforms such as Telegram and Signal, both of which already support username-based communication. However, unlike Telegram, WhatsApp is prioritising privacy by avoiding searchable username directories.

For most users, reserving a preferred username early is a sensible move, especially if they want a handle that matches their identity across other platforms. That said, the feature itself will roll out gradually over the coming months, so even after reserving a username, you'll need to wait until WhatsApp enables username-based messaging in your region.

Nothing Phone (4b) confirmed to use Snapdragon chipset ahead of July 7th launch

Nothing has confirmed its upcoming phone, the nothing phone 4b, will use a Qualcomm processor. Here's the latest.

[highlights]

Nothing has confirmed that the Phone (4b) will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, without naming which one.

The phone was spotted with the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 SoC on Geekbench earlier.

The Nothing Phone 4b will be the first model in the company's "budget" b-series.

[/highlights]

Nothing has confirmed another key detail about its upcoming Nothing Phone (4b) ahead of its global and India debut on July 7th. The company has announced that the smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, although the exact chipset will only be revealed during the launch event. The announcement comes just days after multiple leaks and a Geekbench listing suggested the handset could use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 SoC.

Leaked and confirmed specifications

Nothing has only confirmed the presence of a Snapdragon processor so far. However, a recent Geekbench listing points to the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset, paired with 8GB RAM and Android 16-based Nothing OS. Separately, tipster Yogesh Brar claims the Phone (4b) will feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 5,400mAh battery, and a dual rear camera setup led by a 50MP primary sensor. The phone is also expected to be available in 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB storage variants.

The Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 has already been used in smartphones such as the OPPO K13 5G and Realme P3 5G. If priced aggressively, the Phone (4b) could emerge as an alternative to MediaTek Dimensity 6300-powered smartphones that populate this segment.

Nothing has already revealed part of the design through official teasers. Instead of the segmented Glyph Interface seen on previous models, the Phone (4b) will feature a compact Glyph Bar on the camera plateau. It will continue to report charging progress, notifications, and app alerts while giving the rear panel a cleaner appearance. The transparent design language also remains intact, helping the device reinforce the Nothing aesthetic.

Expected price and availability

Nothing will unveil the Phone (4b) globally on July 7th at 4 pm IST. While the company has not announced pricing yet, it's confirmed that the smartphone will sit below the Phone (4a) series, which starts current at Rs 37,999. Even though the other Snapdragon 6 Gen 4-powered smartphones started well below Rs 20,000, it's highly unlikely the Phone (4b) will sport a similar price tag. Rising component costs have pushed smartphone prices considerably higher, and Nothing co-founder Carl Pei has explicitly said users shouldn't expect the prices to stabilise anytime soon.

Most rivals in the segment offer batteries around the 7,000mAh mark, so Nothing will have to make a mark with more than just design and software experience to sway buyers in its favour. Pricing and launch offers will determine how competitive the Phone (4b) is, so users should wait until the July 7 launch to evaluate its cameras, pricing and overall value before making a purchase.

Vivo X500 Pro Max could carry 8,000mAh or above battery, Xiaomi 18's battery capacity also tipped

Over the weekend, the battery capacities of the Vivo X500 Pro Max and Xiaomi 18 have been revealed through leaks.

[highlights]

This could be the first time Vivo will unveil four X-series smartphones at once.

The Xiaomi 18 may run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6.

Both phones are expected to launch in September 2026

[/highlights]

Chinese smartphone makers Vivo and Xiaomi are gearing up to raise battery capacities of their upcoming flagship smartphones, according to fresh leaks that surfaced over the weekend. As leaked earlier, Chinese tipster Smart Pikachu has reaffirmed that the Vivo X500 lineup will consist of four smartphones, while Digital Chat Station has revealed that the highest model in the series could come with an 8,000mAh-class battery. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 18 is expected to gain a major capacity boost over the Xiaomi 17.

Vivo X500 series expected to include four models

Over the last few days, a leak has been circulating on Weibo stating that the Vivo X500 series will comprise at least four models at launch, namely the Vivo X500e, X500, X500 Pro, and X500 Pro Max, courtesy of Smart Pikachu. Furthermore, just a few days earlier, DCS revealed the key specifications of the Vivo X500 Pro Max.

These include a 6.85-inch 2K LTPO display with 144Hz refresh rate, LPDDR6 RAM, and a high-end camera setup headlined by a 200MP periscope telephoto. It is said that the display will be sourced from BOE and feature large corners and symmetrical thin bezels. This is not the first time BOE will supply panels to Vivo, as the X300 series flaunted the BOE Q10+ displays. Coming back to Smart Pikachu's information, the 8,000mAh on the X500 Pro Max will act as a significant upgrade over X300 Pro's 6,510mAh battery, potentially resulting in far superior endurance.

In a reply to a comment, DCS mentioned that the 200MP periscope camera will utilise a 1/1.4-inch sensor, the same size as the one found in the Vivo X300 Pro, but further polished and refined. With the sensor already large enough, it makes sense for Vivo to continue optimising its imaging capabilities without altering the hardware much.

Xiaomi 18 to sport a 7,200mAh battery

When the Vivo X500 series' model and battery information surfaced, DCS has revealed that the upcoming Xiaomi 18 could rock a 7,200mAh battery. If this information holds, the Xiaomi flagship will have 200mAh more battery than the Chinese variant of Xiaomi 17, and 870mAh more than the global variant.

Just like its predecessors, the Xiaomi 18 is likely to feature a compact 6.3-inch display; therefore, it'll be a huge feat if the company manages to fit in such a large capacity in a small form factor. Apart from that, the device is said to pack a powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset, a dual 200MP camera system (including a 3x periscope telephoto), and advanced features like ultrasonic fingerprint sensing and full IP-rated waterproofing.

Both leaks reflect a growing trend among Chinese brands: packing larger batteries into compact flagships while supporting high-refresh-rate displays and advanced cameras. Though still early leaks, the promise of multi-day battery life is exciting for power users. Those needing a phone soon may want to consider current models, as the new flagships are expected to command premium prices. Both the Vivo X500 series and Xiaomi 18 series are anticipated to launch around September 2026.

Redmi Turbo 5 vs OnePlus Nord CE 6: Which phone should you buy under Rs 40,000?

The Redmi Turbo 5 recently launched in India under Rs 40,000, and in this comparison, we pit it against one of its closest competitors, the OnePlus Nord CE 6. So which phone should you buy?

The Redmi Turbo 5 launched in India recently as the company's first Turbo-series smartphone in the country. Primarily made for gamers or those who prefer a performance-heavy phone, it packs the MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset, a large 7,540mAh battery, flagship-grade durability, and several premium features. One of its closest rivals is the OnePlus Nord CE 6, which came in May and looks to strike a balance between battery life, display quality, and all-round performance with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, a 144Hz AMOLED display, and an 8,000mAh battery.

Both phones cater to buyers shopping under Rs 40,000, but they prioritise different strengths. For the 8GB + 256GB, there is only a Rs 1,000 price difference between the two, with the Nord CE 6 being cheaper. Those chasing more RAM may lean towards the Turbo 5 as the Nord CE 6 only offers configurations in 8GB.

Redmi Turbo 5 vs OnePlus Nord CE 6: design

The Redmi Turbo 5 and OnePlus Nord CE 6 both offer premium durability, but they differ in their feel. Redmi uses an aluminium frame with a glass back, giving the phone a more premium in-hand feel, while the OnePlus relies on a polycarbonate body with a cleaner, understated design.

Despite packing a big battery, the Redmi Turbo 5 remains relatively compact and comfortable to hold, as per our review. The matte finish resists fingerprints well, while the Pixel Matrix lighting around the rear cameras adds a bit of personality while doubling as a notification and alert system.

The OnePlus Nord CE 6, meanwhile, also feels solid despite its plastic construction. Our review found the matte rear panel effective at hiding smudges, while the addition of MIL-STD-810H certification alongside IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings gives it an edge in terms of ruggedness. At 215 gms, however, it's a bit heavier than the Turbo 5, which weighs 204 gms.

The Redmi Turbo 5 comes in three colour options, including Turbo White (with subtle red accents on the camera rings and power button), Nitro Blue, and Asphalt Black. Meanwhile, the OnePlus Nord CE 6 is available in three colours, namely Fresh Blue, Lunar Pearl, and Pitch Black

Redmi Turbo 5 vs OnePlus Nord CE 6: display

Display quality is a strength for both phones. Our review found the Redmi Turbo 5's AMOLED panel offering punchy colours, excellent viewing angles, HDR support and strong outdoor visibility, making it enjoyable display for gaming and streaming despite its smaller size.

The OnePlus Nord CE 6, however, has the better multimedia package overall. Its larger 6.78-inch AMOLED display delivers vibrant colours, sharp details and a fluid experience, helped by OxygenOS 16's smooth animations. The stereo speakers also sound louder and crisper, making movies, OTT content and games slightly more immersive.

Redmi Turbo 5 vs OnePlus Nord CE 6: performance and battery

Performance is where the Redmi Turbo 5 pulls ahead. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra, it offers a clear advantage over the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 inside the OnePlus. The Redmi Turbo 5 consistently maintained 120fps gameplay in BGMI and Call of Duty: Mobile, while also delivering some of the strongest benchmark scores in its segment. The LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.1 storage and 3D Ice Loop cooling system help sustain performance during longer gaming sessions, although the phone does get slightly warm around the camera module under extended load.

[comparative-benchmark type="1" title="AnTuTu score" caption="AnTuTu assesses a smartphone's CPU, GPU, memory, and overall user experience (higher is better)" highlight="" products="41180,42000,,," ][/comparative-benchmark]

The OnePlus Nord CE 6 delivers a dependable everyday experience. Our review found the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 to handle multitasking and daily use with ease, while BGMI runs at up to 90fps. Supported casual games can utilise the display's full 144Hz refresh rate, and the dedicated Touch Reflex chip noticeably improves touch responsiveness. For most users, the Nord CE 6 offers enough performance, but serious gamers will appreciate the Redmi's extra headroom.

Battery life tells a slightly different story. While Redmi's 7,540mAh battery comfortably lasts a full day of heavy use, our review noted that higher-than-expected standby drain prevents the phone from making the most of its large capacity. On the upside, the bundled 100W charger takes the battery from 20 to 100 percent in just 51 minutes.

[comparative-benchmark type="3" title="PCMark Battery score (in hours)" caption="PCMark battery test measures phone battery life from 100% to 20% (higher is better)" highlight="" products="41180,42000,,," ][/comparative-benchmark]

Meanwhile, the OnePlus Nord CE 6 delivers stronger endurance in practice with its larger 8,000mAh cell. According to our review, it comfortably lasted up to 1.5 days with moderate usage and achieved 18 hours and 34 minutes in the PCMark battery benchmark, compared to the Redmi's 16 hours and 5 minutes. Charging is slower at 80W, taking around 68 minutes from 20 to 100 percent.

If gaming performance is your priority, the Redmi Turbo 5 is the better choice. If you value battery life, the OnePlus Nord CE 6 comes out ahead.

Redmi Turbo 5 vs OnePlus Nord CE 6: cameras

At the outset, it's important to note that neither smartphone is aimed at photography enthusiasts. Based on our review, the Redmi Turbo 5's 50MP primary camera captures sharp daylight shots with vibrant colours. The inclusion of an 8MP ultrawide camera also makes it more versatile than the Nord CE 6. However, the ultrawide and 20MP selfie cameras are average performers, making the primary sensor the highlight of the setup.

Redmi Turbo 5 camera samples:

[smartslider3 slider=2142]

The OnePlus Nord CE 6 drops the ultrawide camera altogether in favour of a basic 2MP secondary sensor. Its primary camera produces natural-looking colours and handles dynamic range well, but image detail and low-light performance could be better. On the flip side, the 32MP front camera captures sharper selfies than the Redmi and also supports 4K video recording, making it a better choice for video calls and content creation.

OnePlus Nord CE 6 camera samples:

[smartslider3 slider=2118]

Overall, the Redmi offers the more versatile rear camera system, while the OnePlus delivers a stronger front camera experience.

Redmi Turbo 5 vs OnePlus Nord CE 6: software

The Redmi Turbo 5 ships with HyperOS 3, while the Nord CE 6 runs OxygenOS 16. HyperOS 3 is smooth and feature-rich, offering useful additions such as Hyper Island, HyperAI tools and good connectivity with Xiaomi devices as well as Windows PCs, Macs and iPads. However, the experience is weighed down by a large number of pre-installed apps. Redmi also promises four Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates, giving it a significant long-term advantage.

However, OxygenOS 16 remains one of the cleanest Android interfaces. Our review notes that it offers fluid animations, useful AI-powered editing and productivity features, and plenty of customisation options. But OnePlus only promises two Android OS upgrades and four years of security updates, which falls behind most rivals in this price segment.

Summing up

The Redmi Turbo 5 and OnePlus Nord CE 6 are made for different user profiles. The Redmi Turbo 5 stands out with its class-leading gaming performance, premium build, faster charging, longer software support and stronger sustained performance. While its cameras aren't its strongest suit and standby battery optimisation could be better, it remains the better choice for gamers.

The OnePlus Nord CE 6, meanwhile, impressed us with its excellent battery endurance, vibrant AMOLED display, polished OxygenOS experience and strong build quality. Its shorter software support policy and average rear cameras are its biggest drawbacks, but it remains a good recommendation for users who prioritise multimedia consumption, battery life and a smooth everyday experience.

If performance and long-term value matter most, the Redmi Turbo 5 is the stronger buy. But if you want a larger display, longer battery life and a cleaner software experience at a slightly lower price, the OnePlus Nord CE 6 remains an excellent alternative.

Both devices feature 48MP triple rear cameras, including a telephoto lens with 4x optical zoom, the powerful Apple A19 Pro, extremely bright 120Hz ProMotion displays, and a vapour chamber to keep things cool under heavy pressure, such as gaming or outdoor video recordings.

If you're on the hunt for an all-out flagship device, the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max (review) should prove their worth, especially at the deal prices.
[caption id="attachment_681254" align="alignnone" width="600"] In pic: iPhone 17 Pro Max[/caption]
iPhone 17e and iPhone Air

Two polar opposite phones in Apple's current lineup, the iPhone 17e is seeing a discount of just Rs 4,000, while the iPhone Air could be a suitable pick under Rs 1,00,000 for those wishing to experience an extremely slim form factor. While the iPhone Air heavily misses out on camera flexibility due to the lack of an ultrawide and telephoto lens, it could be a worthwhile purchase for those who are fine with compromising on cameras.

Other iPhone deals

The iPhone 16, available for under Rs 60,000, could be an excellent entry point into the iPhone ecosystem for those eager to experience iOS. Meanwhile, the iPhone 15, under Rs 50,000 with offers, remains capable in 2026, offering solid performance and decent cameras, though it misses out on Apple Intelligence and the smooth 120Hz ProMotion display. With iOS 27 on the horizon, Apple claims it has noticeably improved performance on older devices, keeping both the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 relevant.

The iPhone 16 Plus and iPhone 16e appear to be the least exciting options in the lineup. The iPhone 16 offers hardware similar to the iPhone 16 Plus (albeit with a smaller battery), while delivering several meaningful upgrades over the iPhone 16e, such as Dynamic Island, an ultrawide lens, and MagSafe support.

With rumours that Apple may soon hike iPhone prices, especially for the iPhone 17 lineup, this could be the perfect time to buy one, especially at the discounted rates. As for Apple, online sales events like GOAT sale are critical for Apple to garner market share and build a larger consumer base in India.

iPhone 18 Pro and Ultra tipped to launch either on September 8th or 9th

Unlike previous years, the September Apple keynote is expected to focus solely on the iPhone 18 Pro models and the iPhone Ultra.

[highlights]

Labour Day could postpone the Apple fall event from September 8th to 9th.

It is all but confirmed that Apple's first foldable, iPhone Ultra, will be launched at the event, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro.

Pre-orders for the latest iPhones are said to start from September 10th or 11th.

[/highlights]

Apple has remained tight-lipped about its next iPhone launch event, but renowned Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman believes it will follow the usual schedule and take place in the second week of September. According to Gurman, the event is likely to be held on September 9th rather than September 8th. Unlike previous years, however, the September keynote is expected to focus solely on the iPhone 18 Pro models and the iPhone Ultra, with the standard iPhone 18, iPhone 18e, and iPhone Air reportedly delayed until Spring 2027.

iPhone 18 Pro and Ultra launch date, availability (expected)

Based on history, the most likely date for Apple's iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Ultra announcement is either Tuesday Sept. 8 or Wednesday Sept. 9. But Labor Day is on Sept. 7, so Apple may prefer a travel gap day and prefer Sept. 9 for that reason.
— Mark Gurman (@markgurman) June 28, 2026

The iPhone Ultra and the iPhone 18 Pro models are tipped to launch on either 8 or 9 September. According to reports, as Labour Day falls on September 7th, Apple may leave an extra day for travel and logistics, making September 9th the more likely date for its fall event, where its first-ever foldable, along with the latest Pro models, will be unveiled.

It's further being aniticipated that the pre-booking of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Ultra could start from September 10th or 11th.

iPhone 18 Pro and Ultra prices (rumoured)

The iPhone Ultra is expected to be the most expensive offering from Apple yet. The foldable is tipped to priced at $2,000 (~Rs 1,88,000). That's before taxes and local pricing adjustments, meaning its price in India could easily exceed Rs 2 lakh. If that happens, it would comfortably become one of the most expensive foldable smartphones on the market, making it a purchase that warrants careful consideration before taking the plunge.
[caption id="attachment_705409" align="aligncenter" width="1200"] iPhone Ultra[/caption]
The iPhone 18 Pro is also expected to carry a higher price tag than its predecessor. The increase is reportedly driven by rising memory and storage costs, which have already prompted Apple to raise prices for several products, including its MacBooks and iPads. If rumours prove accurate, the iPhone 18 Pro could start at around USD 1,399 (roughly Rs 1.32 lakh), a notable jump from the iPhone 17 Pro's starting price of USD 1,099 (around Rs 1.03 lakh).

iPhone 18 Pro and Ultra details

The iPhone 18 Pro is reportedly set to arrive in new colour options, although its overall design is expected to remain largely unchanged from its predecessor. Under the hood, it is tipped to feature Apple's new A20 chipset, the same processor expected to power the iPhone Ultra, and ship with iOS 27 out of the box.

While the camera hardware is likely to retain the same resolutions as the iPhone 17 Pro, Apple is expected to introduce meaningful behind-the-scenes upgrades. One of the most notable rumours points to a variable aperture for the main camera, allowing the lens to adjust its f-stop depending on the scene. This could offer better control over depth of field, improve exposure in bright conditions, and deliver more natural-looking background blur in videos.

The iPhone Ultra, meanwhile, will reportedly boast an exceptionally slim, precision-engineered hinge that could allow the foldable display to close with little to no visible crease. Furthermore, the smartphone could measure around 4.5mm thick when fully unfolded, making it even slimmer than the iPhone Air, which has a 5.6mm profile. By comparison, Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to come in at roughly 4.2mm when opened, underscoring the industry's push towards increasingly thinner foldable devices.

The leaked renders also suggest the phone will feature a horizontally aligned dual rear camera setup and retain Apple's Camera Control button. The larger foldable display is also tipped to support a new split-screen multitasking experience designed to improve productivity.

Apple has yet to confirm the details, so take the news with a grain of salt. But if you have been waiting for an innovative iPhone for years, the iPhone Ultra is worth keeping an eye on. The handset could be the most ambitious smartphone from the Cupertino-backed firm to date.

Samsung Galaxy M47 5G launched in India with 6 years of software support, 6,000mAh battery

The Samsung Galaxy M47 5G has launched in India with a large battery, a sharp and smooth display and long-term software support. Here are the prices and specifications.

[highlights]

The Samsung Galaxy M47 5G has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 25,999.

The phones comes with a six-year software support promise, which is the longest in the segment.

The phone will be sold via Amazon, the Samsung store and other retail channels.

[/highlights]

Samsung has expanded its mid-range smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy M47 5G. The new phone marks the return of the Galaxy M4x series to the country after a long gap. While the Galaxy M44 was introduced in select global markets nearly three years ago, it never arrived in India.

The Galaxy M47 5G competes in the sub-Rs 30,000 segment, though closer to the Rs 25,000-mark. Samsung's differentiator, like always, is its long-term software support, which is unmatched in the segment.

Samsung Galaxy M47 key specifications

The Galaxy M47 5G sports a 6.7-inch Full HD+ flat Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection. Powering the smartphone is a Snapdragon processor, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. For photography, the phone features a 50MP primary camera, a 5MP ultrawide sensor and a 2MP macro camera. Selfies and video calls are handled by a 12MP front camera.

Keeping the lights on is a 6,000mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging. There is support for bypass charging too, making it a good option for gamers. While some rivals offer faster charging speeds, Samsung continues to prioritise battery endurance over bigger charging numbers. The large battery could appeal to users who want a phone that comfortably lasts through a full day of heavy use.

Software support and features

One area where Samsung continues to stand out is software support. The Galaxy M47 5G will receive six years of Android OS upgrades and security updates, which is among the longest support commitments available in the mid-range segment. That's an advantage for buyers who typically hold on to their smartphones for four or five years, as it means they'll continue receiving new Android features and security patches well beyond what many competing phones offer.

The phone also benefits from Samsung's One UI experience, which is one of the brand's biggest strengths thanks to its feature-rich interface, regular updates and ecosystem integration. AI features include Object Eraser, Edit Suggestion and My Filter, making the phone a compelling options for content creators or those who like to regularly post on social media.

Samsung Galaxy M47 pricing and colour options

The Galaxy M47 5G starts at an effective price of Rs 22,999 including a coupon offer and/or bank discount. The official pricing for variants is listed in a table below. The phone goes on sale on July 4th, which coincides with the start of the Amazon Prime Day sale.

Samsung Galaxy M47

Actual Price

Prime Day offer price

6GB + 128GB

Rs 25,999

Rs 22,999

8GB + 128GB

Rs 28,999

Rs 25,999

8GB + 256GB

Rs 33,999

Rs 30,999

The phone will be available via Amazon in Rogue Red and Blaze Blue colours.

Together with the software support, AI features, large battery and bypass charging, Samsung has positioned the Galaxy M47 5G as a dependable all-rounder. Considering the price hike situation plaguing the industry right now, a starting price of Rs 22,999 for a phone with a 6,000mAh battery, a Snapdragon chipset, triple camera setup and a long-term software promise, is quite a good deal. Readers should consider taking advantage of the launch offer during the Amazon Prime Day sale as Samsung's software support, AI features and ecosystem advantages make this a good deal.

Infinix Hot 70 Pro spotted on Geekbench with 8GB RAM and a possible MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset

Infinix Hot 70 appears on Geekbench with Android 16, 8GB RAM and a possible Dimensity 7100 chipset, suggesting a modest upgrade over the Hot 60.

[highlights]

Geekbench lists the Infinix Hot 70 Pro as model X6896 with Android 16 and 8GB RAM.

A code image points to a Mali-G610 MC2 GPU, found in the Dimensity 7100 chipset.

The Hot 70 Pro appears to offer a modest upgrade over the Hot 60's Dimensity 7020.

[/highlights]

The Infinix Hot 70 Pro seems to be launching soon, as we've spotted a fresh Geekbench listing that offers an early look at what the phone may bring. The device has surfaced before any official launch announcement, giving us a better idea of its possible hardware. For context, an Infinix Hot 70 has already launched in Indonesia, but the Geekbench listing suggests hardware differences between the two regional launches. Let's check it out below.

What's been revealed

The Geekbench listing shows the model number X6896, along with Android 16 and 8GB of RAM. The memory section lists 7.37GB of usable RAM, which usually means the device is fitted with 8GB RAM in total. The benchmark result itself also shows respectable performance numbers, with 978 in single-core testing and 2,843 in multi-core testing.

A separate code image adds another important clue here, as it lists the GPU as Mali-G610 MC2, which is used in the Dimensity 7100 chipset. The chipset has also been used in the Infinix Note Edge (review), which launched back in February and posted similar Geekbench results.

Traditionally, the Infinix Hot series sits under the Edge series in pricing and currently the Note Edge retails for Rs 22,999. It is likely the Hot 70 Pro will launch under the sub-Rs 20,000 bracket unless the Note Edge undergoes a price hike, which has been the norm for brands as of late.

There is no direct predecessor to the Hot 70 Pro, but compared with the Hot 60, which used the Dimensity 7020, the new model appears to bring a modest performance upgrade. Other hardware such as the display, battery size, camera setup and charging speed may stay largely the same, with the main improvement centred on the processor and RAM.

The Dimensity 7100-class chipset would place the Hot 70 Pro in a more competitive spot against other sub-Rs 20,000 phones that now focus on bigger batteries. Going by what the Indonesian variant of the Hot 70, it seems to be a phone designed for everyday use for an average user. Buyers prioritising battery life, a premium and unique design, and a smooth display may find it appealing.

It would still make sense to wait for reviews or compare with rivals before making a buying decision. We'll know more details once the phone nears launch. Until then it's tricky to make an informed decision wether the device is worth investing in.

Vivo X Fold 6 launched in China with 7,000mAh battery, 200MP camera: price, specifications

The Vivo X Fold 6 has launched in China with one of the largest batteries on a foldable. Here's everything about the phone.

[highlights]

Vivo X Fold 6 has launched with a 7,000mAh battery, one of the largest for a foldable.

The foldable starts at CNY 7,999 (around Rs 1.11 lakh) and goes on sale in China from July 1st.

It packs a 200MP Zeiss-backed main camera with 80W wired and 40W wireless charging.

[/highlights]

Vivo has taken the wraps off its latest foldable, the Vivo X Fold 6, in China. The new book-style foldable packs a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, one of the biggest we've seen on a foldable smartphone, along with the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super chipset, Zeiss-backed cameras and an upgraded Samsung M14 foldable display. The X Fold 6 succeeds last year's X Fold 5 and will go on sale in China from July 1st.

Vivo X Fold 6 prices in China

The Vivo X Fold 6 starts at CNY 7,999 (around Rs 1.11 lakh) for the 12GB + 256GB variant. The 12GB + 512GB, 16GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB models are priced at CNY 8,999 (around Rs 1.25 lakh), CNY 9,999 (around Rs 1.39 lakh) and CNY 10,999 (around Rs 1.53 lakh), respectively.

Vivo has also introduced a Black Gold Edition with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, priced at CNY 11,299 (around Rs 1.57 lakh). The phone will be available in Blue Hole, Polar Night and Salt Lake colours.

Vivo X Fold 6 specifications

The biggest selling point of the Vivo X Fold 6 will be the battery. At 7,000mAh, the X Fold 6 sits ahead of most premium foldables currently on the market. For comparison, Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 7 packs a 4,400mAh battery, OPPO's Find N6 comes with a 6,000mAh cell, while the standard Honor Magic V6 offers 6,660mAh. The only foldable with a larger battery is the Chinese 1 TB variant of the Honor Magic V6, which ships with a 7,150mAh battery.

Normally, the trade-off with big battery foldables is added thickness and weight. Notably, Vivo hasn't had to make the phone dramatically bulkier to achieve this. The X Fold 6 measures 4.4 mm when unfolded and 9.4 mm when folded. That's only slightly thicker than the Galaxy Z Fold 7, OPPO Find N6 and Honor Magic V6, but the difference isn't dramatic. At 228 gms, it's also a little heavier than Z Fold 7 at 215 gms foldable and the Magic V6 at at 224 gms. Vivo seems to be okay trading a few grams and millimetres here and there for a much larger battery.

For display, the Vivo X Fold 6 sports an 8.02-inch Samsung M14 AMOLED inner display and a 6.51-inch AMOLED cover screen, both with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR support and up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness. Vivo says the hinge is rated for 600,000 folds, while the phone also carries IP58 and IP59 ratings for dust and water resistance.

On the camera front, Vivo has equipped the X Fold 6 with a Zeiss-tuned triple rear setup comprising a 200MP primary camera with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide sensor and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera. The company is also bringing support for its second-generation 200 mm external telephoto lens, giving photography enthusiasts more flexibility for long-range shots. There are two 20MP selfie cameras, one on each display, and the phone supports video recording at up to 8K.

The foldable is powered by the 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super chipset, paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. Other highlights include 80W wired and 40W wireless charging, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, an IR blaster, NavIC support and Android 16-based OriginOS 6 Fold.

India availability

Vivo hasn't confirmed whether the X Fold 6 will launch in India, but an arrival looks likely based on past trends. The company entered India's premium foldable segment with the X Fold 3 Pro in 2024 before following it up with the X Fold 5 in July 2025, priced at Rs 1.49 lakh.

If the X Fold 6 makes its way to India, it will compete with foldables including the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and maybe even the rumoured iPhone Ultra. On paper, Vivo appears to have chosen endurance over chasing the thinnest design, while also strengthening its camera hardware. Those prioritising battery and cameras in a foldable should look out for the Vivo X Fold 6 announcement.

iPhone 17 series prices could reportedly be increased by up to Rs 35,000, claims tipster

The iPhone 17 series could see a major price hike, if a new tip is to be believed. Here's what the new iPhone 17 prices may look like.

[highlights]

A new leak claims Apple could increase iPhone 17 series prices in India, with the iPhone 17 Pro Max potentially touching Rs 1.99 lakh.

The tipped revised prices include the iPhone 17, iPhone 17e, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

Flipkart has teased discounted prices for the iPhone 17 series during its GOAT Sale.

[/highlights]

Till now, Apple was one of the few OEMs to not raise prices of their smartphones due to the ongoing memory crisis. Seems that is going to change soon if a new tip is to be believed. Tipster Sanju Choudhary has shared a list of revised prices for the iPhone 17 series, iPhone 17e and iPhone Air, with increases ranging from Rs 10,000 to as much as Rs 35,000. Apple hasn't commented on the new prices yet, so it should be treated as speculation for now.

iPhone 17 series tipped price hike

According to the tipster, the iPhone 17 could see its price rise from Rs 82,990 to Rs 94,900. The iPhone 17e is tipped to go from Rs 64,900 to Rs 74,900, while the iPhone Air could jump from Rs 1,19,900 to Rs 1,34,900.

The biggest increases are expected for the Pro models. The iPhone 17 Pro, currently priced at Rs 1,34,900, is tipped to cost between Rs 1,54,900 and Rs 1,69,900. Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Pro Max could reportedly climb from Rs 1,49,900 to anywhere between Rs 1,84,900 and Rs 1,99,900.

The prediction also comes after Apple recently increased prices of several products in India, including select MacBooks, iPads and the HomePod. Separately, leaks have suggested that the upcoming iPhone 18 series could also debut at higher prices, indicating that Apple may be preparing for a broader pricing shift across its product lineup.

When should you buy the iPhone 17 series?

If these prices come into effect, Apple's premium phones would become considerably more expensive than flagship Android rivals. While Apple's ecosystem continues to be a major draw for many buyers, such steep price revisions could make premium Android alternatives more attractive from a value perspective.

If you've been planning to buy an iPhone, the upcoming Flipkart GOAT Sale may be your best opportunity. Flipkart has already teased aggressive discounts on the iPhone 17 lineup and on some older iPhones too, although these prices will include eligible bank offers and are expected to be available in limited quantities.

The iPhone 17 is expected to be available for Rs 70,990, while the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max have been teased at Rs 1,12,900 and Rs 1,27,900, respectively. The iPhone Air is listed at Rs 95,900, while the iPhone 17e could be available for Rs 60,900. Older models are also seeing sizeable discounts, including the iPhone 16 at Rs 59,900, the iPhone 16 Plus at Rs 73,900, the iPhone 16e at Rs 55,900 and the iPhone 15 at Rs 49,900.

If you manage to grab one of these offers, it could be worth buying during the sale rather than waiting. Stocks at these prices are usually limited, but missing the sale may not be ideal either, so it's best to act fast.

OPPO is all set to launch the Reno 16 series in India next week, bringing two smartphones: the Reno 16 (first impressions) and the new Reno 16c. It's also bringing an interesting new accessory called the OPPO Bubble. The company has already confirmed several key features, while leaks have filled in many of the remaining details. Here's everything we know ahead of launch.

OPPO Reno 16 series India launch date and availability

The OPPO Reno 16 series will debut in India on July 2nd and will be available through Amazon India. The phones are also expected to go on sale via OPPO's online store and offline retail partners.

OPPO Reno 16 specifications: confirmed and expected

OPPO has confirmed a 6.32-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1,800 nits peak brightness, and the new AI Snap Key, which works similarly to OnePlus' AI Plus Key for quickly saving content to MindSpace. The Reno 16 is also launching with a versatile camera setup featuring a 50MP primary, 50MP ultra-wide, and 50MP telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom, along with a 50MP ultra-wide selfie camera. It supports 4K 60fps HDR recording across all three rear cameras.

Leaks suggest the phone will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, paired with a 6,700mAh battery and 80W fast charging. The Reno 16 also carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K durability ratings, making it one of the most rugged premium mid-range phones on paper.

OPPO Reno 16c specifications: confirmed and expected

The Reno 16c is expected to be the more affordable sibling while retaining much of the Reno 16's design language. It features a larger 6.57-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,400 nits peak brightness. Although OPPO hasn't confirmed the chipset yet, global variants suggest the Reno 16c could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy processor.

It is also expected to feature a 7,000mAh battery with 80W charging, giving it a clear advantage in battery life. Like the Reno 16, the 16c also features the AI Snap Key, IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K certifications, an aerospace-grade aluminium frame, and OPPO's latest AI camera features.

OPPO Reno 16, Reno 16c India price (expected)

According to a recent leak, the OPPO Reno 16 could launch at Rs 59,999, while the Reno 16c 5G may be priced at Rs 49,999.

If accurate, this would mark a significant premium over the previous generation. For comparison, the Reno 15 debuted at Rs 45,999, while the Reno 15c launched at Rs 34,999. The reported pricing suggests OPPO is also affected by the ongoing issue in the smartphone industry due to a surge in memory costs.

OPPO Bubble: A unique camera companion

Launching alongside the phones is the OPPO Bubble, a magnetic accessory featuring a 1.73-inch AMOLED display. It doubles as a wireless camera viewfinder and remote shutter, allowing users to frame shots using the rear cameras. It also supports Bluetooth connectivity up to 10 metres, custom wallpapers, interactive pets, IP54 protection, and packs a 550mAh battery.

Should you wait for the Reno 16 series?

The Reno 16 series appears to focus on refinement rather than radical changes. The Reno 16 will likely appeal to users looking for a compact smartphone with flagship-style cameras and premium build quality, while the Reno 16c could attract buyers who prioritise battery life and a larger display at a relatively lower price.

That said, the expected prices place both devices in an increasingly competitive segment populated by the OnePlus 15R, Vivo X200T, and the Motorola Signature. Whether OPPO's premium strategy pays off will ultimately depend on the final pricing, software experience, and real-world camera performance, all of which will become clearer after the July 2nd launch.
