iQOO Z11 bags BIS certification in India; launch expected after iQOO Z11 Lite

The iQOO Z11 could launch in India soon, after the company announces the Z11 Lite. Here are the details.

[highlights]

The iQOO Z11 has been spotted on the BIS certification website with model number I2514.

The phone may feature UFS 3.1 storage, a flat OLED display, and an 8,000mAh - 9,000mAh battery.

The iQOO Z11 Lite is tipped to launch first in India with a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, followed by the standard iQOO Z11 later.

[/highlights]

Looks like iQOO Z11 Lite is not the only Z11 series model that is launching in India after the iQOO Z11x. The standard iQOO Z11 also appears to be inching closer to its India debut, as a smartphone carrying the model number associated with the Indian variant of the phone has been spotted on BIS.

Tipster Debayan Roy has spotted a smartphone carrying the model number I2514 on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification website, suggesting that the phone has cleared one of the regulatory hurdles before its debut. iQOO hasn't confirmed the device yet, and has only announced plans officially for the Z11 Lite.

iQOO Z11 Lite

According to previous leaks, the iQOO Z11 Lite is expected to debut in India in mid-July. The handset is tipped to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, a 6,500mAh battery, and 44W fast charging. It's also expected to run OriginOS 6 based on Android 16 and include AI-powered features for content creation and live captioning. Based on this, the Z11 Lite will be the entry point into the series, which currently only features the Z11x with the Dimensity 7400 Turbo.

iQOO Z11 (standard)

According to tipster Debayan Roy, the iQOO Z11 could feature UFS 3.1 storage, a flat OLED display, and a battery in the 8,000mAh to 9,000mAh range. Separately, a phone with the same model number which is there on BIS, recently surfaced on Geekbench, revealing a MediaTek Dimensity 7500 chipset, 12GB RAM, and Android 16. Some reports indicate that the Indian iQOO Z11 is a rebranded version of the Vivo S60e Vitality Edition, which uses the same chipset. However, iQOO hasn't confirmed this, and the hardware details remain speculative. These specifications could prove to be competitive around the Rs 25,000-mark as most popular phones in this range have similarly capable chipsets and similarly sized batteries.

Globally, the iQOO Z11 has launched with different specifications depending on the market. The Malaysian variant uses the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, while the Chinese model features the MediaTek Dimensity 8500. This suggests the Indian version could become a third regional variant, reflecting the company's strategy of tailoring hardware to local pricing and competition.

The iQOO Z11 is expected to sit above the iQOO Z11x, which currently starts at Rs 22,999 in India after recent price revisions. Depending on its final price, the phone could compete with devices such as the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion and other battery-focused mid-range smartphones.

Considering the Z11 series could come with options across various price segments, buyers should wait for launch offers and detailed specs to see what fits their bill as mostly everything is speculation for now.

Vivo compact flagship phone with 64MP periscope lens, large LOFIC sensor reportedly in the works

[highlights]

The handset in question could be the Vivo X500 Pro or Pro Mini.

It could house a new 64MP periscope telephoto lens.

Vivo is also expected to launch the X500 Pro in a compact form factor.

[/highlights]

Vivo's next-generation flagship phone, the X500 series, has been showing up in leaks and reports. The lineup is due to launch later this year, but leaks about the hardware upgrades have already surfaced online. A new leak reveals what could be the possible specifications of the Vivo X500 Pro. This handset is also speculated to be called Vivo X500 Pro Mini. Nothing is conclusive yet, but here's what to expect from the upcoming Vivo flagship.

Vivo X500 Pro specifications (tipped)

According to a new post by tipster Digital Chat Station, there's a new small-screen flagship in the works with an upcoming 2nm MediaTek Dimensity chipset. This handset in question is reportedly the Vivo X500 Pro or X500 Pro Mini. This chipset could be called the Dimensity 9600 Pro, which would be MediaTek's next-generation flagship SoC. The tipster added that there will be a Dimensity 9600, an upgraded version of the Dimensity 9500, set to power the standard Vivo X500.

The Vivo X500 Pro is said to feature a 6,500mAh-6,600mAh battery capacity, which could go up to 7,000mAh. This would be a slight upgrade over the X300 Pro, but not a major one. The reason behind this is reportedly due to the focus shifted to premium camera hardware for the X500 Pro. Speaking of which, the Vivo flagship is tipped to house a 64MP 85mm periscope telephoto lens and a large LOFIC primary sensor. These could be a 50MP primary camera and a 50MP ultra-wide lens.

Other leaks have also suggested that the Vivo X500 Pro will feature a compact 6.37-inch 1.5K OLED display with an LTPO panel and a 144Hz refresh rate. This would mean a different strategy for Vivo as the X300 has a large 6.78-inch display. The standard X500 is also expected to come in a compact form factor, meaning that only the rumoured X500 Pro Max could be the only large-screened one in the lineup.

Vivo is expected to launch its flagship lineup in China this September. The X500 Pro looks interesting for those who want a compact flagship with advanced cameras and a 2nm chipset. However, if a large battery capacity is a priority, then the X500 Pro may not be the right pick. It's still too early, though, so we should wait for more concrete details.

Moto G77 Power launched in India with 7,000mAh battery, 50MP LYTIA-600 camera, FHD+ display and more

The Moto G77 Power has launched in India with a 7,000mAh battery, MediaTek Dimensity 6400, 50MP LYTIA 600 primary camera, and more.

[highlights]

The Moto G77 Power is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400.

It carries a 1/2-inch primary camera sensor, something which is now rarely seen in the segment.

The phone goes on sale starting July 13th and can be purchased from Flipkart, Motorola's website, and retail stores.

[/highlights]

Motorola has expanded its 2026 G-series lineup by launching the Moto G77 Power in India today. Featuring the MediaTek Dimensity 6400, the smartphone is aimed at users seeking a reliable performative smartphone that can handle regular day-to-day tasks. However, what makes it stand out is the inclusion of the 50MP LYTIA 600 primary camera, a 1/2-inch sensor, which is not so common anymore in the segment. With the sale starting soon, the G77 Power could be a compelling choice for those seeking strong photography and excellent battery endurance.

Moto G77 Power price, availability, sale date

The Moto G77 Power comes in a single storage configuration featuring 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. Priced at Rs 25,999, the handset will be available in PANTONE Fuchsia Red, PANTONE Nautical Blue, and PANTONE Impenetrable colourways.

The phone goes on sale starting July 13th on Flipkart, Motorola.in, and retail stores across India. As part of the early bird launch offers, the G77 Power can be grabbed at an effective price of Rs 23,999 through bank offers.

Moto G77 Power design and specifications overview

Much like previous Moto G-series releases, the Moto G77 Power sports a protruding camera layout and features multiple rear finishes. While to some the design may seem repetitive, Motorola seems to be maintaining cohesiveness across all its smartphones. Turning the phone over to its display, it sports a 6.72-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD panel with up to 120Hz refresh rates and a high brightness of up to 1,050 nits.

Running under the hood is the MediaTek Dimensity 6400, the same 6nm-based chipset we saw on the Moto G37 Power recently, which achieved scores of 5,70,353 and 1,349 in our in-house AnTuTu and Geekbench multi-core tests, respectively. The chipset is paired with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage, which is further expandable up to 1TB using a microSD card.

[gallery link="file" td_select_gallery_slide="slide" ids="707624,707623,707625"]

For optics, the Moto G77 Power features a 50MP LYTIA 600 primary camera with a 1/2-inch sensor size along with an 8MP ultrawide lens. Given that most phones above Rs 20,000 are settling for 1/2.76 or even smaller sensors, the 1/2-inch sensor is a great addition on the G77 Power, which should result in sharper and clearer images, especially in low light conditions. Both rear and front cameras are capable of shooting videos in up to 2K resolution at 30FPS.

The device boots on Android 16-based Hello UI out of the box and is assured of the Android 17 update down the line. Furthermore, it's set to receive security patch updates for up to three years. While competitors are promising at least two major OS upgrades, a single major Android update feels underwhelming.

Rocking a massive 7,000mAh battery, the G77 Power should deliver enough endurance to last at least 1.5 days even on heavy use, as was the case with the G37 Power when we reviewed it. For top-ups, the handset gets a bundled 30W power adapter, while 6W reverse wired charging is also present to help others charge their device.

The Moto G77 Power also features a 3.5mm headphone jack, Dolby Atmos-supported stereo speakers, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, all of which combine to enhance the day-to-day user experience.

Should you consider buying Moto G77 Power?

Given the launch price of Rs 25,999, the Moto G77 Power rivals the likes of the OnePlus Nord N6 and iQOO Z11x, both of which also carry an LCD display and large batteries. The Moto G77 Power's advantages, at least on paper, include a bigger primary camera sensor size, which should result in more detailed images, a full HD+ resolution display (N6 is restricted to HD+), and multiple funky colour choices.

On the other hand, the iQOO Z11x may offer better performance numbers, thanks to Dimensity 7400, while it's also set to gain two major OS upgrades, whereas the G77 Power is restricted to just one.

Google Pixel 11 series prices, storage options leak ahead of expected August 12th launch

The Google Pixel 11 series launch date has been leaked, and along with it, so have been the prices and storage options. Here's how the Pixel 11 series could be priced in Europe.

[highlights]

The Google Pixel 11 series could launch with 256GB as the base storage.

The Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold are tipped to see price increases in Europe, while the Pixel 11 Pro may retain last year's pricing.

Google could launch the Pixel 11 series on August 12th.

[/highlights]

Google is expected to unveil the Pixel 11 series at its next Made by Google event on August 12th, and a fresh leak has now revealed the possible prices, storage variants, and colour options for the upcoming lineup. The series is expected to include four models: the Google Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold.

According to a report by Dealabs in collaboration with tipster BillBil-Kun, Google could increase prices for some Pixel 11 models in Europe while also dropping the 128GB storage option across the lineup.

Expected Google Pixel 11 series prices

The leaked pricing suggests the standard Google Pixel 11 could start at EUR 999 (Around Rs 1.08 lakh) for the 256GB variant, up from the Pixel 10's launch price of EUR 899 for the 128GB model. The handset is also tipped to be available in a 512GB configuration priced at EUR 1,129 (around Rs 1.23 lakh).

The Pixel 11 Pro is expected to retain last year's pricing, starting at EUR 1,199 (Around Rs 1.3 lakh) for 256GB, while the 512GB and 1TB variants could cost EUR 1,329 (around Rs 1.45 lakh) and EUR 1,589 (around Rs 1.73 lakh), respectively. The Pixel 11 Pro XL, however, is tipped to see a EUR 100 increase over its predecessor. It could start at EUR 1,399 (around Rs 1.52 lakh) for 256GB, with the 512GB and 1TB versions priced at EUR 1,529 (around Rs 1.66 lakh) and EUR 1,789 (around Rs 1.95 lakh), respectively.

Google's next foldable, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, is also expected to become more expensive. The leaked prices point to a starting price of EUR 1,999 (around Rs 2.17 lakh) for the 256GB model, rising to EUR 2,129 (around Rs 2.3 lakh) for 512GB and EUR 2,389 (around Rs 2.6 lakh) for the 1TB variant.

A notable change here is the reported removal of the 128GB entry-level option. Apple also adopted a similar strategy for the iPhone 17 lineup, and this seems to be becoming a new strategy adopted by OEMs to justify the hiked price tags.

The leak further suggests the Pixel 11 will be offered in Fuchsia, Light Sterling, Midnight Haze, and Moss finishes. The Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL are tipped to arrive in Dune, Light Fog, Midnight Haze, and Pine, while the Pixel 11 Pro Fold could be available in Midnight Haze and Pine. The report adds that 1TB variants may be limited to the Midnight Haze finish.

Google appears to be positioning the Pixel 11 series further into the premium segment by pairing higher base storage with revised pricing. The lineup will compete with flagship smartphones from Samsung and Apple, while the Pixel Pro Fold will continue to challenge premium foldables such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8/Ultra, Honor Magic V 6, Vivo X Fold 6 and OPPO Find N6.

The leaked pricing suggests it may be worth waiting for the official launch before making a decision. Even if the Pixel 11 series debuts at higher prices, Google could offset the increase with launch offers in some markets, while the Pixel 10 lineup may receive discounts after the new models arrive.

Meta introduces Muse Image for AI image generation across Instagram Stories and WhatsApp

[highlights]

Muse Image now powers image generation in Meta AI.

You can now tag Instagram users and add their images straight into Meta AI.

Meta AI on WhatsApp also supports image generation now.

[/highlights]

AI-generated images have become a major part of the internet, and their rise shows no signs of slowing down. Meta has now introduced Muse Image, its first image-generation model from Meta Superintelligence Labs. Since the model is part of Meta AI, it is built directly into Meta's apps, including Instagram. This means users can not only create and reimagine images, but also share them easily on platforms like Instagram and bring friends into the experience. This could give Meta AI an edge over competing platforms like Google's Gemini, ChatGPT, and Claude.

Muse Image by Meta

Muse Image is built into Meta AI, and it works by creating new images or reimagining existing ones. For example, you can ask it to create an image of you in front of a historical landmark, remove a photobomber, or even ask it to build a functional QR code. Meta says that Muse Image can render text cleanly inside your visuals, such as a how-to guide or a detailed infographic.

There are advantages here for Meta, considering it has one of the most used social media platforms in the world. For example, you can ask Meta AI to redesign your room with real products from the web or Facebook Marketplace. So if there's a specific piece of furniture you want in your room, Meta AI will pull that product and place it in the design.

Editing should also be easy with Meta AI, as it's said to remember the full context of your conversation. You can swap styles, add elements, or tweak details in a flow without starting from scratch. Meta AI has also added a presets panel with suggested prompts, if you're not sure about where to start.

Meta AI image generation on Instagram

If you're using Meta AI on Instagram, you can now @mention accounts to bring particular profiles right into your images. Once you tag someone, Meta AI will pull publicly available photos and use them in the customised image. This is only for public accounts, which you can still control over who gets to use them in Meta AI. There are also over 30 new AI-powered effects for Instagram Stories, which you can access by selecting the 'Restyle' option. You can also now generate images in your direct chats with Meta AI on WhatsApp.

Muse Image is available to use across the Meta AI app and on meta.ai, but Instagram Stories is limited to the US. The company plans to expand it to more locations globally. While the feature is free, there are more options available through Meta's subscription plans. If you're planning to use Meta AI for image generation, the free features should be enough, but if you want more out of it then you can consider getting the subscription.

[highlights]

Redmi Note 17 and Note 17 Pro are confirmed to debut.

The lineup is teased to offer large batteries, better displays, and durability.

The Note 17 Pro could pack a 10,000mAh battery.

[/highlights]

After several leaks and rumours, the Redmi Note 17 series launch date has been officially confirmed. The new lineup will debut in China, followed by a global launch later. The Redmi Note 17 was spotted on BIS, confirming an India launch soon. The upcoming Redmi Note 17 series is teased to deliver improvements in display quality, battery life, durability, and overall user experience compared to the Redmi Note 15 lineup.

Redmi Note 17 series launch date

The Redmi Note 17 series is scheduled to launch in China on July 14th. The launch event will take place at 7 pm China time, which would be 4:30 pm for viewers in India. Although not officially announced, the Redmi Note 17 series is expected to launch outside China soon, with an India launch confirmed through its BIS listing. For now, the Redmi Note 17 series will feature two models, including a Redmi Note 17 Pro. It's rumoured that the lineup could include a Redmi Note 17 Pro Max model as well.

Redmi has also changed the design, opting for a more minimalist look with vertically-aligned camera sensors. The rear panels also show cloud patterns on one and shooting stars on the other.

Redmi Note 17 series: what to expect

According to leaks, the Redmi Note 17 is tipped to feature a 6.83-inch flat 1.5K AMOLED display. It could be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, which should comfortably handle everyday tasks such as social media, streaming, multitasking, and casual gaming. It would also be an upgrade over the Redmi Note 15's Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, suggesting better overall performance.

The handset is teased to house a large-capacity battery with 67W wired fast charging support. For context, the Redmi Note 15 in China houses a 5,800mAh battery, so anything bigger would be a major upgrade for the Redmi Note 17, at least in terms of battery endurance. The Redmi Note 17 is also expected to house a 50MP primary sensor and ship with Android 16-based HyperOS 3.1 out of the box.

As for the Redmi Note 17 Pro, it could stand out with a massive 10,000mAh battery. This would make it one of the largest capacities in the segment, and for a Redmi Note series smartphone as well. More rumoured specs for the Note 17 Pro include a 50MP primary camera, a 32MP selfie snapper, and the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset. Up front, it will most likely house a 1.5K flat OLED display.

Judging from what we know so far, the Redmi Note 17 series is expected to focus on battery endurance this time. Traditionally, the Note series has relied on offering a well-rounded experience. The ongoing trend recently has been battery capacities, and it looks like Redmi is also capitalising on it. So, anyone looking forward to an upcoming Redmi phone for battery endurance could find the Redmi Note 17 series worth waiting for. If you currently own a Redmi Note 15, the upgrade to the Note 17 Pro's 10,000mAh battery could be significant, especially for power users.

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked confirmed for July 22nd; Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Flip 8 expected

Samsung's new foldables have a launch date. The details of the next Unpacked event have been announced and here's what to expect.

While the company hasn't confirmed the products that will be launched, recent leaks and the timing points to the debut of the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 8, and the Galaxy Watch 9 series.

The event will be livestreamed at 9 am ET (6.30 pm IST) on Samsung's official website, Newsroom, and YouTube channel. Samsung has also opened pre-reservations for its upcoming Galaxy devices in select markets ahead of the launch.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8/Flip 8 launch date

As is usually the case, the company hasn't revealed any product names or specifications ahead of launch. Samsung's invitation confirms only the date and venue of the event, while teasing "new form factors" and "more personal, adaptive experiences."

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is rumoured to arrive with a wider design, featuring a 5.4-inch cover display and a 7.8-inch inner screen. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, meanwhile, is tipped to succeed last year's flagship with a new Snapdragon chipset, a 200MP primary camera, and a less visible crease. The Galaxy Z Flip 8 is also expected to retain a familiar design while offering upgraded hardware and display refinements.

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked: what to expect

Apart from its foldables, Samsung is expected to refresh its smartwatch lineup with the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. Leaks suggest both models will bring upgrades, including new health-tracking features, small design tweaks, and software improvements. Reports also indicate Samsung may skip launching a new Galaxy Watch Classic this year.

The event could also mark the debut of Samsung's long-rumoured AI-powered smart glasses. Expected to be called Galaxy Glasses, the wearable is said to focus on AI-powered assistance through Google Gemini, using built-in cameras and voice interactions instead of offering a full augmented reality experience.

How to pre-reserve

Samsung has opened pre-reservations for its upcoming Galaxy devices ahead of the July 22nd event. Customers can reserve a device through Samsung's official website in eligible markets to receive launch-day benefits, including trade-in offers, exclusive discounts and other promotional deals, depending on the region. In India, you can purchase a #Next Galaxy VIP Pass for Rs 999 to get a voucher worth Rs 2,799 and more undeclared benefits. The other option is to register for free where users get a chance to enter giveaways and win daily vouchers worth Rs 5,000.

Samsung's announcement of the Unpacked launch event in July solidifies an early-mover advantage for the company in the wide foldable segment, as Apple is rumoured to launch its long-speculated iPhone Ultra this September. Samsung will likely bank on updated hardware and new AI features to gain an upper hand. However, Huawei has already launched a wide foldable named the Pura X Max in China this year, though it's yet to go mainstream. Users looking for a phablet may wait and see what Samsung has up its sleeve.

Pixel 11 series launch set for August 12th as Google starts sending out invites

Google has reportedly started sending out invites for the Pixel 11 series launch event on August 12th in New York, unveiling the "next generation of Pixel."

[highlights]

Google announces August 12 launch date for the Pixel 11 series

The lineup should include Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold

Pixel 11 could start at a higher cost than the Pixel 10, which arrived with a Rs 79,999 price tag

[/highlights]

Google has started sending out invites for the Pixel 11 series event. The company is organising an event in New York on August 12 to unveil the "next generation of Pixel," according to an invite posted, rather ironically, by Apple reporter Mark Gurman. The launch event begins at 6 PM ET, which means 3:30 AM IST on August 13. If you're in India, you'll likely catch up on all the official announcements when you wake up in the morning.

Unofficially, though, much has been revealed about the Pixel 11 series already, which hardly comes as a surprise. Back in March and April, tipster OnLeaks partnered with Android Headline to reveal the design of the upcoming Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold.

The high-quality renders suggest the Pixel 11 will not look too different from the Pixel 10 series, but wil feature some subtle design tweaks, including a completely blacked-out rear camera module rather than a dual-tone one. Expect the bezels to be slightly slimmer than before to enhance viewing experience, while everything else remains largely the same, including a flat frame and display.

Meanwhile, Google's upcoming foldable phone, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, could be the company's thinnest foldable yet. If true, this would allow the foldable to better compete with foldables from Samsung, Motorola, and Vivo, who have all impressed Renders of the foldable suggest the rear camera system will not sit flush with the housing as it did on the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. The IP68 rating, which was one of the defining durability features of the predecessor, can be expected, if not bettered.

The Tensor G6 is expected to power all four Pixel 11 models. Other specifications should be clearer as we approach the August 12 launch date, but you can expect AI to be a major USP. As for pricing, expect the Pixel 11 series to cost slightly more than its predecessor due to the ongoing memory chip shortage. To recall, the Pixel 10 launched in India starting at Rs 79,999. If you're a Pixel fan looking to upgrade to a new Pixel phone, you might want to hold off until the Pixel 11 announcement to make a more informed buying decision.

Motorola Edge 70 Max India launch confirmed; flat design, wireless charging teased on Flipkart

The Motorola Edge 70 Max could launch in India soon, and the company has started teasing the phone on Flipkart. Here's what to expect.

[highlights]

Motorola has confirmed the Edge 70 Max's India launch through a Flipkart microsite.

The company has teased a new flat design, wireless charging, and a 46 percent improvement in NPU performance.

The Edge 70 Max could be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset and feature a triple rear camera setup.

[/highlights]

Motorola has confirmed that the Edge 70 Max is headed to India, making it the fifth smartphone in the company's Edge 70 series. A dedicated microsite for the upcoming phone is now live on Flipkart, offering the first official look at its design while teasing improvements in AI performance and wireless charging.

Although Motorola has not revealed the full specifications or launch date yet, leaks suggest the Edge 70 Max could become the most powerful model in the lineup, joining the Edge 70, Edge 70 Fusion, Edge 70 Pro and Edge 70 Pro+.

Motorola Edge 70 Max leaked and teased specifications

The Flipkart microsite reveals a noticeably different design from the rest of the Edge 70 series. Unlike the curved displays found on the Pro and Pro+ models, the Edge 70 Max appears to feature a flat display and flat rear panel, along with a square-shaped camera module housing three rear cameras. The phone also includes an LED flash, while an additional button on the left edge could serve as the Moto AI Key.

Motorola has confirmed that the Edge 70 Max will offer a 46 percent improvement in NPU performance for AI workloads. The company has also teased wireless charging support, a feature currently limited to the Edge 70 Pro+ in the lineup.

Leaked marketing material suggests the phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, compared to the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme processor used in the Edge 70 Pro+. This could make the Edge 70 Max the top performance option in the series. The handset is also expected to feature a triple rear camera setup comprising a primary, telephoto and ultrawide camera, and may arrive in Glacier Blue, Onyx Black and Sage Green colour options.

On-device AI features

Motorola has been steadily expanding its AI offerings across the Edge lineup, and the Edge 70 Max appears set to continue that strategy. Leaked promotional material references 'Qira,' Motorola's on-device AI assistant, which supports features such as real-time translation, text summarisation, AI-powered search and photo editing.

Expected pricing and availability

Motorola has not announced the Edge 70 Max's launch date or pricing yet. However, given its flagship chipset, wireless charging support and premium camera hardware, it is expected to be positioned above the Edge 70 Pro+, which currently starts at Rs 47,999 in India. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5-powered Motorola Signature starts at Rs 57,499 in the country.

Priced competitively, the Edge 70 Max could appeal to buyers looking for flagship performance, a flat display and premium features without stepping into the ultra-premium segment. Those planning to upgrade from an older Edge series phone may find it worthwhile to wait for Motorola's full announcement, as the company is expected to reveal more details in the coming days.

Nothing Ear (3a) launch reveals a lot more than just the tip

[highlights]

Nothing Ear (3a) comes in four colour options.

It's claimed to deliver up to 42 hours of battery life.

The TWS also has a unique Audio Snapshot feature.

[/highlights]

Alongside the launch of the Nothing Phone (4b), Nothing has also expanded its audio portfolio with the debut of the Nothing Ear (3a). Positioned as the company's more affordable pair of true wireless earbuds, the new model retains the launch price of its predecessor, while introducing new software features, longer battery life, and improved connectivity.

Nothing Ear (3a) price, colours

The Nothing Ear (3a) is priced at £99 (Rs 12,600 approx), matching the launch price of the Nothing Ear (a). It is available in White, Black, Yellow, and Pink, giving buyers more colour choices than previous generations while retaining Nothing's signature transparent design language.

Audio Snapshot on Nothing Ear (3a)

One of the highlights of the Ear (3a) is Audio Snapshot, a feature that allows users to quickly capture audio directly from the earbuds. By pinching the earbuds, users can record up to one minute of media, or configure the feature to save the 30 seconds before recording begins, ensuring they don't miss important moments. The recordings can then be organised and shared through the Nothing X app.

Nothing is also bundling three months of Pro Transcription with the Ear (3a). The subscription includes 120 minutes of transcription each month and supports features such as speaker identification, AI-generated summaries, and calendar reminders based on recorded conversations.

Nothing Ear (3a) specifications, features

On the audio front, the Ear (3a) features an 11.2mm dynamic driver with Hi-Res Audio support and Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) for reducing background noise. Users can also customise the listening experience through the Nothing X app, which offers adjustable bass, treble, and vocal presets, community-created EQ profiles from DJs, and an advanced 8-band equaliser for more granular tuning.

Battery life has also received an upgrade. Nothing claims the Ear (3a) can deliver up to 42 hours of total playback with the charging case. Each earbud houses a larger 55mAh battery, offering up to 10 hours of listening time on a single charge. Nothing also claims that just five minutes of charging provides up to one hour of playback.

For connectivity, the earbuds support Bluetooth 6.0 and dual-device pairing, allowing users to seamlessly switch between Android smartphones, Windows PCs, and iOS devices without manually reconnecting. The Ear (3a) also carries an IP54 rating, offering protection against dust and splashes, making it suitable for workouts and everyday outdoor use.

With the Ear (3a), Nothing appears to be refining rather than reinventing its affordable audio formula. Compared to the Ear (a), the new model focuses on software intelligence, longer endurance, and improved customisation while maintaining the same entry price. The addition of AI-powered transcription tools and Audio Snapshot also helps differentiate it from similarly priced earbuds that largely compete on sound quality and battery life alone.

The Ear (3a) appeals to users already invested in the Nothing ecosystem or those who value unique productivity features, extensive sound customisation, long battery life, and a distinctive design. Those looking for the strongest ANC or the most audiophile-focused sound may still want to compare competing models.

With instant bank discount and exchange bonus, the phone's effective price comes to Rs 29,999 and Rs 33,699, respectively.

Variant

Official Price

Effective price

8GB+128GB

Rs 34,999

Rs 29,999

8GB+256GB

Rs 38,999

Rs 33,699

For context, the Phone (4a) now starts at Rs 39,999 following a recent price hike, and the Phone (4a) Pro sits at Rs 49,999. That's left a noticeable void in the mid-range, one that Nothing hasn't had a phone to address until now. The Phone (4b) effectively resets Nothing's entry price by roughly Rs 10,000 if you're able to take advantage of all the offers.

The Phone (4b) will be available in Black, White, and Blue colours from 14 July 2026 via Flipkart and leading retail partners, including Croma, Reliance Digital, and Vijay Sales.

Nothing Phone (4b) specifications, features

The Phone (4b) borrows its unibody design from the Phone (4a) Pro and pairs it with the Glyph Bar first seen on the Phone (4a), now housed inside a clear camera module that shows off some of the mechanics underneath. Nothing says the polycarbonate unibody is 20 percent more bend-resistant than the Phone (3a) Lite, and the phone carries an IP64 rating along with testing for extreme temperatures and short submersion in up to 25cm of water.

The Glyph Bar itself has been upgraded too. It's now a grid of 45 mini-LEDs across five squares, up to 40 percent brighter than previous Glyph implementations, with no light leakage across brightness levels. Beyond notifications, it's genuinely functional: it can track Uber rides, food delivery updates from Zomato, and Google Maps navigation through Nothing OS's Live Updates support, show charging progress and camera countdowns, and flash custom patterns for specific contacts or when set keywords show up in messages, useful for something like live cricket score alerts. There's also a dedicated red recording light, carried over from the flagship Phone (3), that lets people around you know when you're capturing video, a small but deliberate privacy touch.

Up front is a 6.77-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 2000 nits peak brightness, and an in-display optical fingerprint sensor. Powering it is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6 Gen 4, paired with a 20,829mm² cooling system that Nothing claims reduces peak CPU temperature by up to 18.8 degrees Celsius during sustained gaming. The chipset supports up to 120fps in lighter titles like Subway Surfers and BGMI at up to 90fps, with a 1,000Hz instant touch sampling rate for responsiveness.

Battery capacity is 5,200mAh globally, with a larger 6,000mAh cell for the Indian market, making it Nothing's largest battery on a phone yet. It supports 33W wired charging, going from zero to 50 percent in 27 minutes and a full charge in about 80 minutes, Nothing claims.

On optics, the Phone (4b) gets a 50MP Samsung main sensor with OIS and EIS, an 8MP ultrawide with a 119.5-degree field of view, and a 16MP Samsung front camera. The TrueLens Engine 4 handles processing, and the phone supports Ultra XDR photo capture, co-developed with Google, along with 4K video recording at 30fps and dual video capture from both cameras simultaneously.

The phone runs on Nothing OS 4.1, based on Android 16, with three years of OS updates and six years of security patches promised. It carries over Essential AI tools like Essential Space and Essential Voice, along with the Glyph Bar's Live Updates support for apps including Uber, Google Maps, and Zomato.

Nothing Phone (4b) specs at a glance

Specifications

Nothing Phone (4b)

Display

6.77-inch Super AMOLED, 120Hz, 2000 nits peak brightness

Processor

Snapdragon 6 Gen 4

RAM/Storage

8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB

Rear cameras

50MP Samsung (OIS+EIS), 8MP ultrawide

Front camera

16MP

Battery

5,200mAh (Global), 6,000mAh (in India)

Charging

33W wired

Software

Nothing OS 4.1 based on Android 16

Software support

3 years OS, 6 years security

IP rating

IP64

Weight

210 grams

Colours

Black, White, and Blue

Our take

The Phone (4b) is Nothing's answer to its own price creep due to the global memory supply crunch. With the Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro moving further upmarket, the brand needed something to hold the line around Rs 30,000, and this is it. On paper, it carries over enough from the Phone (4a) Pro, the unibody, the OIS main camera, and the Snapdragon chipset that it doesn't feel like a stripped-down afterthought. Whether it holds up as a genuine alternative to the crowded Rs 30,000 to Rs 35,000 segment, where competition on cameras and performance is intense, will come down to real-world testing. We will have more to say in our in-depth review in the days to come.

Vivo T5 Lite India launch officially teased; 6,500mAh battery and 44W fast charging confirmed

[highlights]

Vivo T5 Lite will be the third phone in the lineup.

It will succeed last year's Vivo T4 Lite.

The handset could be powered by the Dimensity 6300/6400 SoC.

[/highlights]

Vivo has announced the launch of a new T5 series smartphone in India. After launching the Vivo T5 Pro and Vivo T5x, the company has now teased the arrival of the Vivo T5 Lite on Flipkart. The upcoming handset is expected to succeed last year's Vivo T4 Lite, bringing a refreshed design, a larger battery, and the latest Android software to the budget segment.

Vivo T5 Lite India launch details

While Vivo has yet to announce an official launch date, the Flipkart teaser offers an early look at the smartphone's design and highlights some of its key features. The Vivo T5 Lite is confirmed to pack a 6,500mAh battery with 44W FlashCharge support, making battery life one of its biggest selling points. The handset will be among the larger batteries available in its price segment, targeting users who prioritise reliable battery life.

Faster the phone. Shorter the wait. The all-new vivo T5 Lite landing soon.
#vivoT5Lite #GetSetTurbo pic.twitter.com/A986LKjaJR
— vivo India (@Vivo_India) July 7, 2026

The teaser also reveals its design. The Vivo T5 Lite features flat edges and a flat display, in line with current smartphone design trends. On the back, the handset sports a flat rear panel with a vertically aligned dual-camera setup, while the power button and volume rocker are positioned along one side of the frame. Vivo has also confirmed that the phone will ship with Android 16-based OriginOS 6, making it one of the newer budget smartphones to launch with the latest software version out of the box.

Vivo T5 Lite specifications (expected)

Although the company has not officially detailed the remaining specifications, recent leaks suggest the Vivo T5 Lite could be powered by either the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 or the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset. Both processors are designed for entry-level 5G smartphones and should comfortably handle day-to-day tasks such as messaging, streaming, web browsing, and light gaming.

The smartphone is also tipped to feature a 6.74-inch HD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,200 nits High Brightness Mode (HBM) brightness. This display setup is quite typical for a budget smartphone. For photography, the Vivo T5 Lite is expected to feature a 50MP primary rear camera alongside a secondary sensor, while selfies and video calls could be handled by a 5MP front-facing camera. Other rumoured features include an IP65-rated dust and water-resistant build.

Leaks further suggest the handset will be available in 4GB + 128GB, 6GB + 128GB, and 6GB + 256GB storage variants. Its colour options could be Twilight Shadow and Wave Blue.

With the T5 Lite, Vivo appears to be strengthening its presence in the highly competitive budget 5G market. Compared to the performance-focused Vivo T5 Pro and the more balanced Vivo T5x, the Lite variant is expected to prioritise battery life, essential features, and affordability.

If Vivo manages to price the T5 Lite competitively, it could appeal to first-time 5G buyers, students, and users upgrading from older budget phones who value long battery life, fast charging, and the latest Android experience.

Vivo X300e clears 3C certification, 90W fast charging confirmed

[highlights]

Vivo X300e would be the fifth model in the flagship lineup.

The handset is expected to feature a 6.59-inch display.

It will most likely sit below the premium X300 models.

[/highlights]

Vivo appears to be expanding its flagship X300 portfolio once again. After introducing multiple models in the series, the company is now expected to add a fifth smartphone, the Vivo X300e. The upcoming handset has cleared China's 3C certification, following earlier appearances on the MIIT and TENAA databases, suggesting its official debut may not be far away.

The X300e is expected to slot below the premium X300 variants while retaining several flagship-grade features, potentially making it a more accessible option in the lineup. Adding another model to its flagship lineup could be part of Vivo's strategy to broaden the X300 series portfolio, catering to a wider range of buyers while offering more choices across different price points in the premium segment.

Vivo X300e 3C listing details

The latest 3C certification identifies the device with the model number V2612A and confirms support for 90W wired fast charging. While the listing does not mention wireless charging, the certification is another indication that Vivo is moving closer to launching the smartphone in China.

With the X300e now clearing China's three major regulatory platforms, the device is expected to debut either later this month or in August. The smartphone is also tipped for a global release after its moniker surfaced in the IMEI database earlier, hinting that Vivo may not keep it exclusive to the Chinese market.

Vivo X300e specifications (expected)

Most of the phone's hardware has already been revealed through its TENAA certification. The Vivo X300e is expected to feature a 6.59-inch flat AMOLED display, catering to users who prefer a compact size that isn't too small or large. The phone is expected to sport a square-shaped camera module positioned in the upper-left corner of the rear panel, marking a departure from the circular camera islands seen on some other X300 models.

According to the listing, the X300e will feature a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto sensor, and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. It could house a 50MP selfie camera. Reports also suggest the imaging system will benefit from Zeiss optics and image tuning, which isn't surprising as Vivo has equipped all its premium phones with this technology.

The Vivo X300e is tipped to pack a 7,100mAh battery, which is a large capacity for the segment. Powering the smartphone is expected to be Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, the same processor found in the Vivo X300 FE. This should position the X300e well for users looking for flagship-level performance across gaming, multitasking, and AI-powered features. It could also give the X300 FE an edge over Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 rivals like the OnePlus 15R and iQOO 15R with the same chipset but better cameras.

If the leaks prove accurate, the X300e could occupy an interesting position within Vivo's growing X300 family. While the Pro models are likely to remain the go-to choice for buyers seeking the absolute best camera hardware and premium features, the X300e appears to focus on delivering a balanced flagship experience by combining a powerful processor, a large battery, fast charging, and a versatile camera system. The X300e could also be an alternative for those who don't prefer the smaller X300 FE.

For those considering an upgrade in the next few months, keep an eye on this device, especially if Zeiss cameras and flagship-grade performance are important to you. It would still be advisable to wait for the official pricing and reviews to see how the phone compares to rivals.

Refurbished iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro and more available under Rs 70,000: should you buy?

ControlZ has started a sale on refurbished iPhone Pro models on its website. Here are the deals and what we think of them.

[highlights]

ControlZ is offering renewed iPhones including the iPhone 14 Pro at Rs 52,999 and the iPhone 15 Pro at Rs 66,499.

Apple discontinues older iPhone Pro models on its official store once it launches a new gen, so official discounts are not possible.

Buyers should verify the warranty, battery health and refurbishment process before buying a refurbished phone.

[/highlights]

If you're looking for an older iPhone Pro model to make the most of discounts/price cuts, chances are you won't find it easily. Apple typically discontinues its Pro models after launching a new generation, and buyers mostly rely on third-party seller discounts to get their hands on a Pro model at a lower price. Renewed smartphones retailer ControlZ is currently offering refurbished iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro models at prices well below their original launch cost.

As part of its sixth anniversary sale, running from July 6th to July 10th, the company is offering renewed iPhones starting at Rs 31,999. The deals include the iPhone 14 Pro at Rs 52,999 and the iPhone 15 Pro at Rs 66,499, which is significantly lower than what Apple's Pro models historically retail for.

Refurbished iPhone deals

ControlZ's anniversary sale includes the iPhone 13 for Rs 31,999, iPhone 13 Pro for Rs 43,499, iPhone 14 Pro for Rs 52,999, iPhone 15 for Rs 44,499 and iPhone 15 Pro for Rs 66,499. For buyers who simply want an iPhone Pro without spending over Rs 1 lakh, these prices are worth noting. Apple no longer sells the iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro through its official store, and even during festive sales, newer Pro models rarely become available at similar prices. There are rumours suggesting the upcoming iPhone 17 series could see a price increase. If that happens, renewed Pro models may become an even more affordable way to enter Apple's premium ecosystem.

Should you buy refurbished iPhones?

This depends on what you value. The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro should still deliver flagship-level performance for everyday use, premium displays with ProMotion, capable cameras and several years of iOS updates. Apple's processors also tend to remain relevant for much longer than a typical smartphone upgrade cycle, so these devices are unlikely to feel dated anytime soon.

That said, the sub-Rs 70,000 segment also opens doors to several newer (but 2025) Android flagships powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, and 2026 sub-flagships. These phones offer newer hardware, larger batteries, faster charging and the latest AI features, making them attractive alternatives if you're not inclined towards Apple's ecosystem.

However, buyers must remember that these are refurbished devices, not brand-new ones. Buyers should check the warranty, return policy, battery health and the seller's refurbishment process before purchasing. ControlZ says its phones undergo AI-assisted, component-level renewal and come with an 18-month warranty, which adds some reassurance. If your priority is owning an Apple Pro model at the lowest possible price, these deals are worth considering. If you want the latest hardware and a brand-new device, similarly priced Android alternatives remain strong options.

The smartphone's listing has been spotted by 91mobiles on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification database, indicating an imminent launch in India. Furthermore, the Galaxy F08 and Galaxy M08 have also appeared on the same listing, likely targeted for online channels.

Samsung Galaxy A08 BIS listing

Just last week, the Samsung Galaxy A08 made its sighting on the Wi-Fi Alliance certification website with the model number SM-A085F/DS. Now, a Samsung device with the same model number has popped up on BIS alongside SM-M085F/DS and SM-E085F/DS. Given that the Samsung Galaxy A07 4G carries the model number SM-A075F, the device in question is likely the Galaxy A08 4G, whose launch could be just around the corner.

The Galaxy A07 4G was launched in August 2025 at Rs 8,999 and featured entry-level specifications, such as a 6.74-inch HD+ 90Hz display, MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, 50MP dual rear cameras, an 8MP selfie camera, a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging, IP54 dust and splash resistance, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The Galaxy A08 4G could follow the same route by packing similar specifications, while offering six Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates, just like its predecessor.

On the other hand, the SM-M085F/DS and SM-E085F/DS, which could launch as the Galaxy M08 and Galaxy F08, respectively, could carry an identical feature set as the Galaxy A08. The Galaxy M08 would likely be targeted at Amazon customers, while the Galaxy F08 could exclusively retail at Flipkart.

How is Samsung likely to position the Galaxy A08 4G?

Given the current market conditions, the Samsung Galaxy A08 4G is likely to carry a higher price than its predecessor due to rising memory costs. As a result, one can expect the device to be priced between Rs 10,000 and Rs 15,000. While 5G has long been commercialised in this segment, the sharp increase in memory prices has prompted brands to continue pushing 4G models to maintain affordability for the mass market. Recently, the Infinix Smart 20 4G (review) was launched at Rs 12,499, and the Galaxy A08 4G could follow a similar pricing strategy.

Given that the Galaxy A07 4G made its debut in August last year, the Galaxy A08, along with the Galaxy M08 and Galaxy F08, could soon launch in India in the next one or two months. When it launches, Samsung's signature long software commitment is sure to be one of the phone's main highlights in its segment, assuring users that their device will stay up to date with new features and security updates.

On the other hand, if the device turns out to be 4G-only, buyers may want to consider other options in the market that offer 5G connectivity for faster downloads and smooth, buffer-free streaming of movies and shows.

Redmi Note 17, Poco M8 Plus spotted on BIS ahead of expected India launch

[highlights]

Redmi Note 17 series is confirmed to debut in China this month.

POCO M8 Plus is also expected to arrive alongside the Redmi Note 17.

Both phones have been certified on BIS.

[/highlights]

The Redmi Note 17 series appears to be inching closer to its India debut. Ahead of the official launch in China, what is believed to be the standard Redmi Note 17 has surfaced on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification website, alongside its rumoured POCO-branded counterpart. The listing suggests Xiaomi is preparing to bring both devices to the Indian market in the coming months.

Redmi Note 17, POCO M8 Plus BIS listing

The BIS database includes two Xiaomi smartphones carrying model numbers 2607DRA18I and 2607DPC18I. While the certification does not reveal any hardware specifications, reports indicate the former could launch as the Redmi Note 17, while the latter may arrive as the POCO M8 Plus. Xiaomi has followed a similar strategy in the past by introducing nearly identical smartphones under Redmi and POCO branding, with differences usually limited to design, software tweaks, or pricing.

The certification comes shortly after it was confirmed that the Redmi Note 17 series will debut in China later this month. Based on the brand's previous launch timelines, the lineup is expected to make its way to global markets, including India, a few months after its China unveiling.

Redmi Note 17 series: what to expect

Although Xiaomi has yet to confirm the specifications, leaks have already revealed what to expect from the Chinese version of the Redmi Note 17. The smartphone is tipped to feature a 6.83-inch flat 1.5K AMOLED display and an in-display fingerprint scanner. Powering the device could be Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset. While it is not expected to deliver peak performance, the processor should comfortably handle everyday tasks such as social media, streaming, multitasking, and casual gaming. It would still be an upgrade over the Redmi Note 15's Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, suggesting better overall performance.

Battery details remain under wraps, but reports suggest the Redmi Note 17 will pack a large-capacity battery with support for 67W wired fast charging. Redmi has also teased battery upgrades for the Note 17 series. For comparison, the Redmi Note 15 in China houses a 5,800mAh battery. If accurate, it would be a major upgrade for the Redmi Note 17, at least in terms of battery endurance.

On the camera front, the Chinese variant is tipped to feature a 50MP primary sensor. The smartphone is also expected to ship with Android 16-based HyperOS 3.1 and offer a water-resistant build, although the exact IP rating has yet to be revealed.

It is worth noting that Xiaomi often tweaks specifications between its Chinese and global releases. Previous Redmi Note smartphones have arrived in international markets with different processors, slightly smaller battery capacities, or camera configurations, so the final hardware of the Indian Redmi Note 17 and the rumoured Poco M8 Plus could differ from their Chinese counterparts.

For now, the BIS certification is another indication that Xiaomi's popular Note lineup is moving closer to launch in India. If the leaked specifications hold, the Redmi Note 17 could appeal to buyers seeking a balanced everyday smartphone with an AMOLED display, a large battery, and capable cameras. If you currently own a Redmi Note 14 or 15, the upgrade might be incremental, but users of older Note series smartphones could see significant improvements. We should still wait for more concrete details to see if the Redmi Note 17 is a worthy upgrade over its predecessor and rivals alike.

iQOO Z11 Lite India launch teased, expected to debut in mid-July

The iQOO Z11 Lite has been teased to debut in India soon. Here's what to expect from the device.

Both phones feature a flat frame, a vertically stacked dual-camera setup, and a circular LED ring below the cameras, giving them a familiar look. The camera island on the Z11 Lite looks more streamlined, with the two camera rings sitting directly on the rear panel instead of inside a large rounded-square module seen on the Z11x.

Tipster Sanju Choudhary recently reported that the iQOO Z11 Lite will launch in India in mid-July. According to him, the iQOO Z11 Lite will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, paired with a 6,500mAh battery and 44W fast charging support. The phone is also tipped to ship with OriginOS 6 based on Android 16 and include AI-powered features for content creation and captioning.

Interestingly, the Dimensity 6300 is the same chipset used in the iQOO Z10 Lite 5G, which debuted in India in 2025. Instead of focusing on a processor upgrade, iQOO appears to be improving other aspects of the phone. The battery is tipped to grow from 6,000mAh on the previous model to 6,500mAh, while charging speeds could nearly triple from 15W to 44W.

This approach reflects a broader trend in the affordable smartphone segment, where brands are increasingly prioritising larger batteries, faster charging and AI-powered software features over year-on-year chipset upgrades. For many buyers, these improvements can have a bigger impact on everyday use than modest gains in performance, while optimising the price tag.

Expected launch and pricing

The iQOO Z11 Lite is tipped to launch in mid-July 2026. Although the Z10 Lite started at Rs 9,999, the new model is unlikely to retain that price, keeping in mind the rising component costs across the industry. The phone is expected to be positioned below the iQOO Z11x, which currently starts at Rs 22,999, making a sub-Rs 20,000 price tag a realistic possibility. The Z11x is powered by the Dimensity 7400-Turbo chipset, which is a tier above the Dimensity 6300.

If priced competitively, the iQOO Z11 Lite will take on offerings from POCO, Lava, Itel and Samsung in a segment that has seen fewer launches as smartphone prices have steadily moved upward. Buyers looking for a phone with long battery life, faster charging and dependable day-to-day performance may want to wait for the official announcement before making a purchase, if gaming performance is not their top priority.

[Update] iQOO Z11 Lite India launch teased

The iQOO Z11 may be on track for an India launch as the official teasers have started. Here's what you can expect from the device.

Part of that prediction seems to be coming true, as the iQOO Z11 appears to be on track for an India launch. However, it may not be the same phone that recently debuted in global markets. A new teaser from iQOO India CEO Nipun Marya confirms that the device is headed to the country, but a Geekbench listing suggests the Indian model could arrive with different hardware.

(Z)ero hints. A prototype with the same model number has surfaced on Geekbench, revealing a MediaTek Dimensity 7500 chipset, 12GB RAM, and Android 16. Another tipster Anvin has speculated that the use of the Dimensity 7500 could indicate the Indian iQOO Z11 is a rebranded version of the Vivo S60e Vitality Edition, which uses the same processor. However, this remains speculative until iQOO officially confirms the hardware.

The global iQOO Z11, which recently launched in Malaysia, features a 6.83-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, 50MP primary camera, 32MP front camera, IP68/IP69 ratings, and a 9,020mAh battery with 90W fast charging. Meanwhile, the Chinese version offers a higher-resolution 1.5K AMOLED panel with a 165Hz refresh rate and is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset. It also comes with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, while retaining the same 9,020mAh battery and 90W charging support.

India could end up getting a third version of the iQOO Z11 with a different chipset altogether. Such regional variations are not uncommon, with brands often tailoring specifications based on pricing strategies and local market competition. If the speculation about a rebranded Vivo S60 Vitality Edition turns out to be accurate, the Indian iQOO Z11 could feature:

6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate

MediaTek Dimensity 7500 chipset

Up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB storage

50MP primary camera paired with an 8MP ultrawide sensor and a 50MP front camera with autofocus

A 7,200mAh silicon-carbon battery with 90W fast charging

Android 16-based OriginOS 6

IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance, an in-display fingerprint scanner, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, and an infrared blaster

However, these specifications are based on speculation and should be treated as unofficial until iQOO confirms the device's hardware. The expected chipset change may also help iQOO price the phone more aggressively in India. Depending on its final pricing, the iQOO Z11 is likely to compete with devices such as the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion and other mid-range smartphones. Regional variants have become fairly common in the smartphone market, with brands often making hardware changes across markets to better match local pricing and competition. If the Indian iQOO Z11 does arrive with the Dimensity 7500, it could reflect iQOO's focus on offering a balanced mix of performance and battery life in India's hotly competitive mid-range segment.

The iQOO Z11 will join the iQOO Z11x in the lineup, which launched in India in March at Rs 18,999. However, after hikes, it currently starts at Rs 22,999 in the country and the Z11 may be priced slightly higher. While the global Z11 stands out for its massive battery and fast charging, the Indian model's pricing will decide how much value it brings to the table for buyers. iQOO may sweeten the deal with launch offers, and since the teasers have started, waiting it out may be prudent.

Vivo Y500 4G launched globally with 8,100mAh battery, 50MP camera

[highlights]

Vivo Y500 4G comes with IP68 and IP69 ratings for durability.

The handset features a FHD+ display.

There's no word on an India launch yet.

[/highlights]

After teasing the device last month, Vivo has officially launched the Vivo Y500 4G in Pakistan and Nepal. These markets, like India, may still have a strong user base for 4G connectivity compared to other regions. The new Y-series smartphone targets buyers seeking reliable battery life on a budget, while also offering features such as an AMOLED display, an IP69 durability rating, and Android 16 out of the box. The biggest highlight of the Vivo Y500 4G is its massive 8,100mAh battery, making it one of the largest battery capacities available in a budget smartphone.

Vivo Y500 4G specifications

The Vivo Y500 4G's 8,100mAh battery is expected to deliver multiple days of power on moderate use. The handset also supports 44W wired fast charging, which is quite decent considering the battery size. With the Vivo Y500 4G, users who are highly dependent on battery endurance will find the handset quite reliable.

On the front, the Vivo Y500 4G features a 6.83-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 1,260 x 2,800 pixels resolution. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and animations, while Vivo claims a peak brightness of 5,000 nits, which is quite impressive for a budget phone.

Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the Unisoc T7300 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM. Buyers can choose between 128GB and 256GB of onboard storage. While the chipset is designed for everyday tasks such as web browsing, social media, video streaming, and casual gaming, it is unlikely to match the performance offered by similarly priced devices like the OnePlus N6.

For photography, the vivo Y500 4G features a 50MP primary rear camera accompanied by a 2MP secondary sensor, while selfies and video calls are handled by a 32MP front-facing camera. This camera setup is pretty good, as the primary sensor is strong and the selfie one is as well. The smartphone also comes with IP68 and IP69 certifications for dust and water resistance, a feature that is still relatively uncommon in this price segment. Other notable features include an in-display fingerprint sensor and Android 16-based OriginOS 6 out of the box.

Vivo Y500 4G price

The Vivo Y500 4G is available in Midnight Blue and Pearl White colour options. The 8GB + 128GB variant is priced at PKR 99,999 (Rs 34,300 approx), while the 8GB + 256GB model costs PKR 109,999 (Rs 37,700 approx).

Based on just its specifications, the Vivo Y500 4G focuses on offering an all-round package centred around battery endurance, a high-refresh-rate AMOLED display, premium durability, and the latest Android software. Buyers who value extended battery life and a feature-rich everyday experience are likely to find the Y500 4G more appealing than users looking for raw performance. If your current phone's battery life is a constant frustration and you're on a tight budget, the Y500 4G is worth considering now for its unique battery and durability. However, if gaming performance or 5G connectivity is a priority, you should wait for reviews or consider alternatives.

Vivo X Fold 6 tipped to launch in India this October; could debut alongside another X-series phone

The Vivo X Fold 6 is tipped to launch in India and here's how much it could cost. Here are the full details.

[highlights]

A tipster claims the Vivo X Fold 6 will launch in India this October after it launched in China a few days ago.

The foldable features a 7,000mAh battery, MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, and a 200MP triple rear camera setup.

The Vivo X Fold 6 is expected to be priced above Rs 1.5 lakh in India.

[/highlights]

Vivo's latest foldable smartphone, the Vivo X Fold 6, could soon make its way to India. Tipster Sanju Choudhary claims the book-style foldable is slated to launch in the country in October, with another X-series smartphone expected to debut alongside it. While Vivo hasn't confirmed an India launch timeline, the tip follows the phone's recent debut in China. If the report is correct, the Vivo X Fold 6 could become the brand's third foldable to launch in India after the X Fold 3 Pro and last year's X Fold 5.

India launch details and expectations

Besides tipping the launch timeline, the tipster predicts the Vivo X Fold 6 will be priced above Rs 1.5 lakh in India. That's as much as the Motorola Razr Fold, while the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 comes at a higher premium, starting at Rs 1,74,999. The OPPO Find N6 hasn't launched in India yet.

The Vivo X Fold 6 was unveiled in China with a starting price of CNY 7,999 (around Rs 1.11 lakh), while the top-end 16GB + 1TB Black Gold Edition costs CNY 11,299 (around Rs 1.57 lakh). Indian pricing is expected to be higher after taxes and import duties, which aligns with the tipster's claim of a price tag above Rs 1.5 lakh.

Vivo entered India's foldable segment with the X Fold 3 Pro in 2024 and followed it up with the X Fold 5 in 2025, priced at Rs 1.49 lakh. An October launch for the X Fold 6 would continue the company's annual refresh cycle.

Key specifications

The Vivo X Fold 6's biggest highlight is its 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, one of the largest on any foldable smartphone. For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 packs a 4,400mAh battery, while the OPPO Find N6 and Honor Magic V6 feature 6,000mAh and 6,660mAh batteries, respectively. Vivo has managed to fit the larger battery into a chassis that measures just 4.4 mm when unfolded and weighs 228 gms, making it only slightly thicker and heavier than its closest rivals.

The foldable sports an 8.02-inch Samsung M14 LTPO AMOLED inner display and a 6.51-inch LTPO AMOLED cover screen, both with a 120Hz refresh rate. Powering the device is the flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, paired with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. For cameras, The X Fold 6 features a Zeiss-backed triple rear camera setup comprising a 200MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultrawide camera and a 50MP 3x periscope telephoto lens. It also includes dual 20MP selfie cameras, one on each display, along with support for 80W wired and 40W wireless charging.

If Vivo launches the X Fold 6 in India at the rumoured price, buyers will be paying a premium for its class-leading battery capacity and flagship camera hardware. However, those considering a foldable may still want to compare it against rivals from Samsung and Motorola, especially if festive season discounts narrow the price gap later this year. If you prioritize battery life and camera performance above all else in a foldable and are willing to pay a premium, the X Fold 6 could be a strong contender

Samsung Galaxy Tab S12+ spotted on BIS, India launch seems imminent

[highlights]

Galaxy Tab S12+ will be part of Samsung's flagship tablet lineup.

The BIS listing suggests an imminent India launch.

There could be an Ultra model in the lineup as well.

[/highlights]

Samsung's next premium Android tablet could be headed to India soon. The rumoured Galaxy Tab S12+ has appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification database, a development that typically precedes an official launch in the country. The Galaxy Tab S12+ will be part of Samsung's flagship tablet lineup, possibly joined by a Tab S12 Ultra model as well. This would also be a return of the 'Plus' model in Samsung's tablet lineup. The outgoing Galaxy Tab S11 series didn't include one, but the Tab S10 lineup did. It's also speculated that the Tab S12+ could be the standard model in the series.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S12+ BIS listing

The certification listing includes the model numbers SM-X840 and SM-X846B, suggesting that Samsung is preparing both Wi-Fi and 5G variants of the tablet for the Indian market. While a BIS certification does not reveal hardware specifications, it is a strong indication that the device is nearing its debut in India.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S12+ specifications (expected)

According to recent leaks, the Galaxy Tab S12+ will retain Samsung's focus on premium tablet experiences with a 12.4-inch AMOLED display with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz. If accurate, the display would continue Samsung's tradition of offering some of the best OLED panels in the Android tablet segment. The large and vibrant screen would cater to creative professionals needing a large, colour-accurate display.

Powering the tablet could be MediaTek's 3nm Dimensity 9500 chipset, which would be a generational upgrade from the Galaxy S11 series' Dimensity 9400+. The processor is expected to be paired with 12GB of RAM and at least 256GB of internal storage, positioning the tablet squarely in the premium flagship category. It would compete with Apple's iPad Pro lineup.

Battery life is also expected to remain a key focus. Rumours suggest Samsung could equip the Galaxy Tab S12+ with a 10,500mAh or 10,600mAh battery, offering all-day endurance for productivity, media consumption, and gaming. For video calls, Samsung is tipped to include a 12MP front-facing camera capable of recording 4K video, making the tablet suitable for remote work and virtual meetings.

On the software side, the Galaxy Tab S12 series is expected to debut with Android 17-based One UI 9.0. Based on Samsung's current software support policy, the tablet could receive seven generations of Android OS upgrades, up to Android 24, along with seven years of security updates. This would be one of the longest-supported Android tablets on the market.

The BIS certification suggests it may be worth waiting if a premium Android tablet is on your radar. Those considering the current Galaxy Tab S11+ could benefit from either the newer hardware in the Tab S12+ or potential price reductions on the older model once Samsung officially announces its successor. Samsung has yet to officially confirm the Galaxy Tab S12 series or its launch timeline. However, with the tablet now reportedly clearing BIS certification, an India launch could take place in the coming weeks or months.

Redmi Note 17 series image leaks ahead of launch, shows design change

The Redmi Note 17 series could get a design refresh, as per a new leaked image. Here's what to expect from Xiaomi's upcoming phones.

[highlights]

Xiaomi has confirmed the Redmi Note 17 series will launch in China later this month.

A leaked poster reveals a redesigned camera module for the Redmi Note 17 and Redmi Note 17 Pro.

The Redmi Note 17 Pro is tipped to feature a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset and a 9,000mAh battery.

[/highlights]

Xiaomi has officially started teasing the Redmi Note 17 series in China, confirming that its next-generation mid-range smartphones will debut later this month. Ahead of the launch, an image has surfaced online (via), offering the clearest look yet at the Redmi Note 17 and Redmi Note 17 Pro while also hinting at a refreshed design language for the lineup.

Reports suggest the series could include four models: the Redmi Note 17R, Redmi Note 17, Redmi Note 17 Pro, and Redmi Note 17 Pro Max. The Redmi Note 17R is also rumoured to arrive in global markets as a rebranded Redmi 17 5G.

Redmi Note 17 series design changes

The leaked poster suggests Xiaomi is giving the Redmi Note 17 series a noticeable visual refresh. Unlike the Redmi Note 15 series, which features a centrally positioned square camera island, the Redmi Note 17 lineup shifts the camera module to the top-left corner.

The vanilla Redmi Note 17 appears with two large rings housed inside a rounded rectangular camera island (though reports suggest there's only one sensor), while the Redmi Note 17 Pro uses a similar layout but accommodates an additional sensor. The flat frame design has been retained. The redesign makes the phones look cleaner and more understated than their predecessors, while also helping visually distinguish the new generation despite the familiar flat-sided chassis.

Leaked specifications and lineup overview

According to recent leaks, both the Redmi Note 17 and Redmi Note 17 Pro could feature a 6.83-inch flat OLED display with 1.5K resolution. The standard model is tipped to use the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset with support for 67W fast charging. The Pro variant may step up to the newer Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor and could pack a massive 9,000mAh battery. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 5, while not a flagship chip, is expected to handle daily tasks and most popular games smoothly, appealing to users who prioritise reliable performance without breaking the bank. Both phones are expected to include a 50MP primary camera, dual speakers, HyperOS 3.1 based on Android 16, and a water-resistant body.

Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max is rumoured to launch separately next month. It could feature a Dimensity 7500 chipset, a 10,100mAh battery, a 200MP primary camera, and the same 1.5K OLED display.

Interestingly, Xiaomi has skipped the Redmi Note 16 branding altogether, jumping directly from the Note 15 series to the Redmi Note 17 lineup. The company hasn't yet confirmed any of the hardware specifications.

Global availability timeline

For now, Xiaomi has only confirmed a China launch later this month. However, the Redmi Note series has traditionally made its way to global markets, including India, a few months after its Chinese debut.

Like all Android OEMs, Xiaomi appears to be doubling down on battery capacity while refreshing the design instead of making big hardware changes. Buyers, however, could wait for Xiaomi to confirm pricing and regional variants, as Redmi's India launches often differ from their Chinese counterparts in terms of specifications.

OxygenOS and Realme UI may be phased out; future OnePlus and Realme phones could run ColorOS

A report suggests that OxygenOS and Realme UI may soon be discontinued in favour of ColorOS on future devices.

[highlights]

OPPO plans to consolidate OnePlus and Realme under its brand.

OxygenOS and Realme UI have been using the ColorOS codebase for a while now.

OPPO has recently started offering repair and servicing support for OnePlus devices in India.

[/highlights]

Along with gaining powerful performance capabilities, insanely fast charging speeds, and robust builds, OnePlus smartphones have always inherited smooth and skilful software in the form of OxygenOS. On the other hand, Realme UI has featured across hundreds of Realme smartphones at different price points, providing users tons of features for daily productivity. Now, A report from Smartprix claims that OxygenOS and Realme UI could soon be a thing of the past, as OPPO is expected to mandate ColorOS on both OnePlus and Realme devices going forward.

Future OnePlus and Realme smartphones may run ColorOS

According to Smartprix's report, a 'highly reliable and seasoned industry insider' has said that OxygenOS and Realme UI will be axed in the near future, and all the new releases from OnePlus and Realme will feature OPPO's ColorOS. Under the hood, both skins run on ColorOS' codebase, with the difference being Realme UI has been based on ColorOS since the start, i.e. 2018, while OxygenOS merged its underlying software with ColorOS back in 2022.

The report states that this comes as part of OPPO's efforts to consolidate OnePlus and Realme's operations under OPPO at the global level, which could mean developing and managing just a single software skin across the three brands as part of the broader plan. The plan may have already been set in stone, as recently OnePlus merged its after-sales and service network with OPPO in India, allowing OnePlus users to walk into any of OPPO's service centres to get their damaged or faulty devices fixed. On the other hand, OnePlus Community in China now features a dedicated space for Realme device owners to interact and engage with OnePlus users.

Merging OxygenOS, Realme UI and ColorOS could help OPPO cut down on R&D costs

With the smartphone and the entire tech industry in general facing a memory and storage shortage crisis, merging operations under one roof could help OPPO save costs. As a result, instead of catering to three different skins with familiar look and feel, OPPO aims to fuse OxygenOS and Realme UI into ColorOS for all devices released in the future.

While this would go a long way in strengthening the quality of the software by deploying faster rollouts, quickly taking measures to fix bugs, and allocating more resources for developing new features, the core identity of OnePlus phones globally would be stripped away. Since the start, OnePlus has banked on OxygenOS by delivering well-polished software that is smooth to operate, while carrying all the essential features. This holds for both the original OxygenOS and the current OxygenOS that runs the ColorOS codebase.

In its current state, OxygenOS does indeed carry several distinct features from ColorOS, such as the rounded toggles and sliders in the quick settings panel, an OxygenOS-themed About Phone and Update page, homescreen icons, and most importantly, the red-accented clock. So for those considering a new OnePlus device, this potential shift might influence your decision based on your preference for OxygenOS's unique identity.

It remains to be seen whether OnePlus phones running ColorOS after the consolidation will continue to feature the mentioned elements. On the other hand, Realme UI 7 is nearly identical to ColorOS 16, with the main exception being the homescreen icons. Therefore, Realme users might see less impact due to existing similarities with ColorOS.

Xiaomi Civi series may have been discontinued, Civi 5 Pro could be the last model

[highlights]

Xiaomi has reportedly pulled the plug on its Civi series.

The news comes amid conflicting reports about the next Xiaomi Civi smartphone.

Xiaomi 14 Civi launched in India as the only model from the lineup.

[/highlights]

Xiaomi's Civi smartphone lineup may have been discontinued. The popular smartphone series, known for blending premium-looking designs with camera-focused hardware, may have reached the end of the road. A fresh claim from well-known tipster Digital Chat Station suggests the company has discontinued the series, with no next-generation Civi smartphone currently in development.

Xiaomi Civi series reportedly discontinued

The latest update, shared on Weibo, appears to settle months of conflicting rumours. Earlier reports had suggested Xiaomi scrapped the alleged Civi 6 after underwhelming sales of its predecessor. More recent leaks, however, claimed the device had returned to development and would feature a 200MP rear camera, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, and even a dedicated AI button. If the new information is accurate, those plans have now been abandoned.

If Xiaomi has indeed pulled the plug, the Civi 5 Pro could become the final entry in the series. The lineup debuted with the Xiaomi Civi and later expanded with the Civi 1S, Civi 2, Civi 3, Civi 4 Pro, and Civi 5 Pro. Throughout its run, the series targeted users looking for stylish, lightweight smartphones that also delivered capable selfie and rear camera performance in the premium mid-range segment. The lineup positioned itself above the Redmi Note series, and gave users an alternative to Xiaomi's more performance-focused numbered series.

The Civi lineup had only a limited presence outside China. Xiaomi rebranded the Civi 5 Pro for select global markets, but reports later suggested the company dropped plans to launch it in India. As a result, the Xiaomi 14 Civi, introduced in June 2024, remains the only Civi-branded smartphone officially released in the country.

Xiaomi has not confirmed the reported cancellation, so the future of the lineup remains unofficial for now. However, speculation points to inconsistent demand across different markets as a possible reason behind the decision. The Civi lineup may have been replaced by the Xiaomi 17T, at least in India. Part of Xiaomi's flagship series, the Xiaomi 17T also targets the premium mid-range category with a premium design, strong cameras, and a well-balanced package overall.

Those considering a camera-centric Xiaomi phone may find the Xiaomi 17T a compelling option, and not wait for a new Civi model. As for existing Civi users, the phones should be fine as long as they're receiving software updates.

Apple's foldable iPhone Ultra could arrive later than the iPhone 18 Pro despite September unveiling: report

[highlights]

Apple's foldable iPhone may be unveiled with the iPhone 18 Pro series but go on sale weeks later, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

The delay is reportedly due to limited production, similar to the iPhone X launch in 2017.

The foldable iPhone is tipped to start at USD 2,299 and could see long delivery times because of limited supply.

[/highlights]

Apple is reportedly announcing its first foldable iPhone alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max this September, but buyers could end up waiting several weeks before they can actually place an order. According to supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, manufacturing constraints are expected to limit early production of the device, which is widely rumoured to be called the iPhone Ultra.

If that happens, Apple would be repeating a strategy it has used before. In 2017, the company unveiled the iPhone X together with the iPhone 8 series in September, but delayed iPhone X pre-orders until late October because production could not keep up with demand. Kuo expects something similar for Apple's first foldable. While the device could make its debut at the September launch event, pre-orders may only begin in the fourth quarter of 2026.

iPhone Ultra leaked specifications and features

Rumours suggest Apple's first foldable will resemble a book-style foldable rather than a clamshell. It is tipped to feature a 5.5-inch outer display and a 7.8-inch inner screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio, making it closer in size to an iPad mini when unfolded. The phone is also expected to measure less than 5 mm thick when open.

Previous leaks indicate the device could use Touch ID instead of Face ID, as its ultra-thin design may not leave enough room for Apple's TrueDepth camera hardware. It is also expected to carry a premium price tag of around USD 2,299 (around Rs 2.19 lakh) to USD 2,499 (around Rs 2.38 lakh) in the US, which would make it Apple's most expensive iPhone yet.

Kuo estimates Apple suppliers will ship around 7 to 8 million foldable iPhones through 2026, well below the projected 20 to 22 million combined shipments of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Only a small fraction of those foldable units are expected to be ready around launch. That could translate into long delivery timelines, with Kuo predicting shipping estimates of four to six weeks or longer after pre-orders open. He also believes demand could outnumber supply enough for resellers to charge hefty premiums.

Apple is entering a market that already includes foldables from Samsung, OPPO, Google, Huawei and Honor. Rather than trying to match those brands on price or volume, the company appears to be positioning the iPhone Ultra as an ultra-premium offering with limited initial availability. Unless you're keen on being among the first to own Apple's foldable, waiting for supply to improve could mean shorter delivery times.
