Apple's biggest leak yet? Alleged iPhone 18 Pro drop test video surfaces after Tata Electronics' data theft

The iPhone 18 Pro is in the centre of a major leak as a data theft from manufacturer Tata Electronics has revealed media related to the development of the phone. Here's the latest.

[highlights]

Tata Electronics is one of the major manufacturers for Apple and a data theft has leaked confidential details.

An alleged drop test video of the iPhone 18 Pro/Max in a titanium silver colour option is circulating online.

The phone is also seen in a burgundy/cherry colour option.

[/highlights]

Apple may be dealing with one of its biggest product leaks yet. Days after manufacturing partner Tata Electronics confirmed it was hit by a cyberattack, alleged images and videos showing the iPhone 18 Pro during internal drop testing have surfaced online.

Tipsters Ice Universe, Evan Blass (EVleaks), Majin Bu, among others, have shared screenshots and videos that appear to show Apple's next flagship undergoing durability tests. Ice Universe described it as "the biggest leak in Apple's history," while sharing a video of the alleged iPhone 18 Pro Max undergoing a drop test.

The leak comes amid reports that confidential Apple documents stolen from Tata Electronics have been circulating on the dark web. Apple hasn't commented on the authenticity of the leaked media, and the images should be treated with caution.

iPhone 18 Pro leaks via Tata data theft

According to a Reuters report, hackers stole more than 200,000 files during the Tata Electronics data breach, including confidential documents related to Apple products. The leaked material reportedly includes supplier information, component lists, engineering documents, emails and images of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max during internal testing. Reuters says several files contain details of hundreds of components, including chips on the main logic board, battery parts and camera modules. The documents reportedly carry Apple's confidential markings and internal codenames for the upcoming phones.

Tata Electronics assembles iPhones in India and has become an important manufacturing partner as Apple continues to look beyond China. Following the cyberattack, Tata said it had restricted access to affected systems and appointed external cybersecurity experts to conduct a forensic investigation. Reuters also reports that Apple is working with Tata to strengthen security measures going forward.

iPhone 18 Pro design leaked

The leaked videos show a familiar design that resembles the current iPhone 17 Pro. Ice Universe says the phone appears durable but remains "surprisingly thick" and heavy, and we agree it looks like that. However, the flat-sided frame, centred USB-C port and triple rear camera layout on the plateau all remain intact, suggesting Apple isn't making major cosmetic changes this year.

pic.twitter.com/jtLh547sfU
— EvLeaks (@evleaks) June 29, 2026

The biggest visible difference appears to be the rear camera module. The camera plateau looks slightly taller and the individual camera rings seem thicker than before, probably hinting at upgraded camera hardware. The images also show what appears to be a silver/grey finish. We're not sure if it's the video quality, but the silver looks more matte, similar to the titanium finish from the iPhone 16 Pro series, rather than the newer iPhone 17 Pro colour option. There is a possibility that Apple has gone back to titanium after using aluminium for the iPhone 17 Pro frame. The dual colour tone seen on the rear of the iPhone 17 Pro also seems to have been done away with for the 18 Pro, as we see a monotone throughout the rear of the phone, which looks nice.

One big reveal is rumoured burgundy/cherry colour option. We found a screengrab shared by Majin showing the new colour option, which could be the anchor colour for the iPhone 18 Pro series later this year.

iPhone 18 pro pic.twitter.com/A2Eldt0MQ8
— Majin (@MajinBuofficia) June 30, 2026
If these images are genuine, we shouldn't be expecting a major redesign with the iPhone 18 Pro models. The upgrades may be slightly cosmetic and incremental, though going back to titanium would be a slightly bigger change. Those hoping for a bold new design may be slightly disappointed, but users prioritising camera upgrades and durability may find the iPhone 18 Pro compelling. The launch is just over two months away, but buyers should be prepared for an upgraded price tag due to the ongoing memory crisis.

Nothing Phone (4a) series reportedly gets third price hike in three months ahead of Phone (4b) launch

The Nothing Phone 4a and Phone 4a Pro prices have reportedly been increased again. Here's what the new pricing may look like.

[highlights]

The Nothing Phone 4a series started at Rs 31,999 when it launched in March.

The Phone 4a is currently available for Rs 37,999, but a report claims its price has been increased again.

Nothing launches a cheaper Phone 4b on July 7th.

[/highlights]

Nothing has reportedly increased the prices of its Nothing Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro once again, marking the third hike since the phones debuted earlier this year in March. According to tipster Sanju Choudhary, the latest revision raises prices by up to Rs 4,000 across the lineup. However, we cannot independently verify the revision as Flipkart, the official seller, is still showing the last hiked prices.

Nothing Phone (4a) series reported new prices

Nothing Phone (4a)

Variant

Launch price

Last price

New price

8GB + 128GB

Rs 31,999

Rs 37,999

Rs 39,999

8GB + 256GB

Rs 34,999

Rs 40,999

Rs 43,999

12GB + 128GB

Rs 37,999

Rs 43,999

Rs 46,999

Nothing Phone (4a) Pro

Variant

Launch price

Last price

New price

8GB + 128GB

Rs 39,999

Rs 49,999

Not revealed

8GB + 256GB

Rs 42,999

Rs 52,999

Rs 54,999

12GB + 128GB

Rs 45,999

Rs 55,999

Rs 59,999

As we said, the new prices, if true, aren't live yet. However, in case there's a hike, the timing is noteworthy. The reported increase comes just days before the expected launch of the Nothing Phone (4b) on July 7th. While Nothing hasn't officially commented on anything, the higher prices could help create a clearer gap between the upcoming Phone (4b) and the existing Phone (4a) series, especially if the 4b launches at a higher-than-expected price.

The increases look even steeper when compared to the launch prices announced in March. The Nothing Phone (4a) debuted at Rs 31,999 for the base variant but now costs Rs 39,999, an overall increase of Rs 8,000 or roughly 25 percent in just three months. The Phone (4a) Pro has seen an even bigger jump.

While Nothing hasn't explained the repeated revisions, rising component costs and changing market conditions could be contributing factors. At the same time, increasing the prices ahead of the Phone (4b)'s debut could also help position the upcoming model more comfortably in the lineup without overlapping too closely with the Phone (4a) series.

Should you buy the Nothing Phone (4a) series?

If you were considering the Phone (4a) series primarily because of its original pricing, it may be worth waiting a few more days to see what the Phone (4b) brings, or check out competitors. Nothing has already confirmed a few details about the upcoming device, and it could offer newer (but lower-specced) hardware at a price that makes more sense relatively.

On the other hand, if you specifically want the Phone (4a) or Phone (4a) Pro and your budget can stretch to its current asking price, buying sooner rather than later may be the safer option. The latest hike and Carl Pei's statements suggest Nothing isn't afraid to revise prices upward, and another increase cannot be ruled out.

At launch, the Phone (4a) Pro went head-to-head with the OnePlus Nord 6, making it an attractive alternative for buyers who wanted Nothing's unique software and design. Today, it sits nearly Rs 10,000 above the Nord 6, making that comparison far less compelling. There are stronger performance-focused options in this price range. However, if Nothing's clean software, Glyph lighting and distinctive design are the reasons you're considering the Phone (4a) series, buying now may be preferable to waiting for another possible price increase.

OnePlus N6 launched in India with MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Apex SoC and 8,000mAh battery: price, specifications

The OnePlus N6 has been launched in India as the most affordable offering in the company's portfolio. Check out its complete details, price in India, and more.

The OnePlus N6 has been launched in India as the most affordable offering in the company's portfolio. The handset is positioned below the OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite for users prioritising long-lasting battery and smooth performance. The handset is backed by an 8,000mAh battery and a MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Apex chipset. On paper, the combination should ensure smooth everyday performance and a backup easily lasting a day or two. Other key specifications of the OnePlus N6 include stereo speakers, a 6.8-inch HD+ display, a 50MP primary camera, and OxygenOS 16.

OnePlus N6 price in India, availability

The OnePlus N6 is priced in India at Rs 22,999 for the base 4GB RAM and 128GB storage option. The top-end 6GB RAM option costs Rs 24,999.

The phone is available in two colour options: Fresh Mint and Midnight Black. The OnePlus N6 will go on sale in India starting 4 July via Amazon.in. As part of the launch offers, buyers can avail of an instant bank discount of Rs 2,000 along with an additional Rs 1,000 Prime Day discount, bringing the effective price down to Rs 19,999. The handset could be a good buy with its discounts, thanks to its massive battery.

Variant

Price

4GB RAM + 128GB storage

Rs 22,999

6GB RAM + 128GB storage

Rs 24,999

OnePlus N6 specifications

The OnePlus N6 debuts with OxygenOS 16 running atop Android 16 out of the box. This is the same software that you get with more expensive OnePlus smartphones launched in the past few years. The software support, however, is limited to two years of major OS and three years of security. While you are getting an identical experience, the longevity is lower than other OnePlus models but on par with the smartphones within its segment.

Powering the smartphone is the MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Apex chipset, which is a slightly upgraded version of the Dimensity 6300 SoC. This is the first time we are seeing this version of the chipset in a smartphone in India. The SoC is paired with an ARM Mali-G57 MC2 GPU and up to 8GB of RAM + 256GB storage onboard. If not the most powerful, the OnePlus N6 should deliver reasonable performance for everyday usage with the setup. There is a 5,300mm2 vapour chamber cooling system to keep its thermals in check.

But the most exciting aspect of the OnePlus smartphone has to be its performance. The N6 houses an 8,000mAh battery, supported by 45W fast charging, bypass charging, and 5W reverse wired charging. A full charge is expected to last up to 3 days between charges. Furthermore, OnePlus claims the smartphone will retain 80 percent battery health even after 7 years. The handset is rated for 1,600 charge cycles and protection against overcharging, drops, flat compression, and extreme temperatures. It is said to be safe for normal use between -20 degrees Celsius and 56 degrees Celsius.

OnePlus has managed to accommodate the large battery in a relatively thin device, measuring 8.8mm in thickness, and a handy design. The smartphone weighs 224 grams and should survive little accidents such as minor drops and falls. This could be attributed to its MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification and ArmorShell Protection comprising tough corners, airbag cushioning, hardened glass, and a reinforced aluminium frame. The OnePlus N6 is rated to survive minor splashes of water and dust with an IP65 rating.

Moving on, the smartphone sports a standard 6.75-inch HD+ LCD display with support for a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,200 nits peak brightness. While the resolution remains modest on paper, the high refresh rate should help deliver smoother animations and scrolling, particularly for users who spend a lot of time gaming or browsing social media.

In optics, the OnePlus N6 features a dual rear camera setup, consisting of a 50MP primary sensor. Up front, the handset sports an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. Camera modes include Night, Portrait, Panorama, Time-Lapse, Slow Motion, Motion Photos, and Dual-View Video, offering users a fairly versatile shooting experience despite the phone's budget positioning.

On the AI front, the OnePlus N6 offer a suite of smart features, including AI Eraser, AI Unblur, and AI Ultra Clarity, along with note-taking assistance, document scanning capabilities, and Google Gemini integration. The biggest highlights include the OnePlus 15R at an effective starting price of Rs 48,999, while the OnePlus 13s and OnePlus 13 will be available at their lowest prices yet. OnePlus is also offering discounts on its latest Nord smartphones and bundled accessories for the OnePlus Pad 4.

The sale begins at 12 am on July 4th, and the offers will also be available through OnePlus' own online and offline sales channels. The limited-period offers will be available on Amazon India, OnePlus.in, the OnePlus Store App, and OnePlus Experience Stores. With smartphone demand slowing in India, these Prime Day offers could help drive sales momentum for both the overall market and OnePlus, as attractive discounts encourage buyers who have been delaying upgrades.

OnePlus Prime Day 2026 offers

Among the flagship phones, the OnePlus 13s receives one of the biggest discounts, dropping to an effective price of Rs 46,999 after a Rs 5,000 price cut and an additional bank discount of Rs 3,000. This is a sweet deal for the OnePlus 13s, and recommended for those who want a compact flagship phone. Also, with several reports on the OnePlus 15s not launching in India, it might be the best time to buy the OnePlus 13s instead.

The OnePlus 13 also falls below the Rs 50,000 mark for the first time, making it one of the most affordable flagship smartphones in OnePlus' portfolio. This is after an instant bank discount of Rs 5,000. Although last year's flagship, the OnePlus 13, is still one of the leading phones in terms of performance, battery life, and dependable cameras.

The OnePlus 15R is available from Rs 48,999, after a price drop of Rs 3,000 and a bank discount of Rs 3,000. This smartphone is recommended for those who want a performance-focused handset with a large battery.
[caption id="attachment_701821" align="alignnone" width="1000"] OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite[/caption]
In the mid-range segment, the OnePlus Nord CE6 starts at Rs 29,999, while the Nord CE6 Lite becomes available from Rs 22,999.
iPhone 18, 18e tipped to get upgraded RAM but that may not necessarily be good news

The iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e may come with upgraded RAM but users may still miss out on two iOS 27 features. Here they are.

[highlights]

The standard iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e are tipped to feature 9GB RAM, while the Pro models, iPhone Ultra and iPhone Air 2 could come with 12GB.

The iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e are expected to miss two iOS 27 AI features which require 12GB of unified memory.

The iPhone 18 Pro lineup is expected to launch in September, while the standard iPhone 18, iPhone 18e and iPhone Air 2 could come in March or April 2027.

[/highlights]

Apple may be planning a small memory upgrade for its next-generation standard iPhones, which have been stuck at 8GB RAM for the longest time, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's good news. The phones are unlikely to get the full Apple Intelligence experience as the upgraded RAM may not still be sufficient.

According to supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e will feature 9GB of RAM, up from the 8GB found on the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17e. The extra memory is said to help Apple Intelligence run more smoothly, but it still falls short of the 12GB requirement for some of Apple's latest on-device AI features announced at WWDC 2026.

The latest claim also contradicts an earlier DigiTimes report, which suggested Apple was considering equipping the standard iPhone 18 with 12GB of RAM. If Kuo's prediction is accurate, Apple appears set to continue reserving its most advanced AI capabilities for higher-end models, which could also help differentiate them better and preserve the sales of the iPhone 18 Pro models.

Leaked specifications and features

Kuo claims the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e will ship with 9GB of RAM, while the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, the rumoured foldable iPhone Ultra and the second-generation iPhone Air are expected to retain 12GB.

That distinction is important because Apple has already confirmed that two headline iOS 27 features require at least 12GB of unified memory. These include the ability to adjust Siri's voice with different levels of expressiveness and speaking pace, along with a significant improvement in system-wide speech-to-text dictation. Even with 9GB of RAM, the standard iPhone 18 models are expected to miss out on both features.

Another leak from tipster Digital Chat Station has shed light on the displays expected across Apple's early 2027 lineup. The standard iPhone 18 is tipped to feature a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution, matching the size of the current iPhone 17. The second-generation iPhone Air could get a slightly larger 6.55-inch LTPO OLED panel, while the iPhone 18e is expected to offer a 6.12-inch LTPS OLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate and the same 1.5K resolution. If true, the iPhone 18e would once again miss out on a high refresh rate display despite a slightly larger screen. That could make it a tougher sell, especially as several Android phones in similar price brackets already offer 120Hz OLED panels.

Apple's hardware strategy stands out against the broader smartphone market. Premium Android phones from Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi, OPPO, Vivo and Realme already ship with 12GB or even 16GB of RAM, with many of them using the additional memory to power increasingly capable on-device AI features. Apple appears to focus on using AI as another differentiator between its standard and Pro models.

Expected pricing and release timeline

Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and the foldable iPhone Ultra in September this year. The standard iPhone 18, iPhone 18e and the second-generation iPhone Air are rumoured to follow around March or April 2027 as part of the company's staggered release strategy.

Pricing remains unclear. While earlier reports suggested Apple could absorb the cost of higher memory without increasing prices, that now looks less likely. NAND storage and RAM prices have risen due to supply shortages, and Apple recently increased prices across several products. Outgoing Apple CEO Tim Cook has also indicated that price hikes are becoming difficult to avoid and the company has already raised prices of most of its products except iPhones.

For buyers, the standard iPhone 18 could still deliver a solid Apple Intelligence experience for everyday tasks. However, if Apple's latest AI features are a priority, the Pro models or the next-generation iPhone Air may be the better options.

Vivo X Fold 6 to launch globally: report

The Vivo X Fold 6 is confirmed for a global launch, claims a new report. Here's what Vivo's latest foldable offers.

[highlights]

Vivo has confirmed that the X Fold 6 will launch globally after its China debut, though market availability remains under wraps.

The foldable features a 7,000mAh battery, Zeiss-backed 200MP triple cameras and support for an external 200 mm telephoto lens.

The Vivo X Fold 6 starts at CNY 7,999 (around Rs 1.11 lakh) in China.

[/highlights]

Vivo has confirmed that its newly launched foldable, the Vivo X Fold 6, will not remain exclusive to China. The company reportedly told Android Authority that the foldable will get a global launch, although it hasn't revealed the list of markets or a timeline yet.

The confirmation comes at a time when Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 8 next month. The Vivo X Fold 6 stands out on paper with a large battery, flagship hardware and Zeiss cameras, making it a strong alternative in the foldable segment.

China pricing and storage options

The Vivo X Fold 6 starts at CNY 7,999 (around Rs 1.11 lakh) for the 12GB + 256GB model. The 12GB + 512GB, 16GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB variants are priced at CNY 8,999 (around Rs 1.25 lakh), CNY 9,999 (around Rs 1.39 lakh) and CNY 10,999 (around Rs 1.53 lakh), respectively. Vivo has also introduced a Black Gold Edition with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage for CNY 11,299 (around Rs 1.57 lakh).

For reference, last year's Vivo X Fold 5 debuted in China at CNY 6,999 for the base variant, indicating a notable price increase for its successor.

Key specifications and features

The Vivo X Fold 6 is powered by the 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super chipset and packs up to 16GB LPDDR5X Ultra RAM with up to 1TB UFS 4.1 storage. It runs Android 16-based OriginOS 6 Fold.

Its biggest highlight is the 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, one of the largest on any foldable smartphone. Vivo has managed to fit the large battery into a relatively slim chassis that measures 4.4 mm when unfolded and 9.4 mm when folded. At 228 gms, it is only slightly heavier than rivals like the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Honor Magic V6.

Compared to rivals, the X Fold 6's battery capacity is its biggest advantage. Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 7 packs a 4,400mAh battery, the OPPO Find N6 offers 6,000mAh, while the Honor Magic V6 comes with a 6,660mAh cell. Only the Chinese 1TB variant of the Honor Magic V6 has a larger 7,150mAh battery.

The foldable sports an 8.02-inch Samsung M14 AMOLED inner display and a 6.51-inch AMOLED cover display. Both offer a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR support and up to 5,000 nits peak brightness. Vivo says the hinge is rated for 600,000 folds, while the phone also carries IP58 and IP59 ratings for dust and water resistance.

For photography, the X Fold 6 features a Zeiss-backed triple rear camera setup comprising a 200MP primary sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide camera and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens. Vivo has also introduced support for a second-generation 200mm external telephoto lens, a feature aimed at photography enthusiasts. Other highlights include dual 20MP selfie cameras, 80W wired charging, 40W wireless charging, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and NavIC support.

Expected India launch

Vivo has only confirmed that the X Fold 6 will launch globally and has not announced the markets that will receive it. The company has previously brought premium foldables such as the X Fold 3 Pro and X Fold 5 to India, so a launch in the country remains a possibility. If the X Fold 6 does arrive in India, it could offer buyers a compelling alternative for those who prioritise battery life, fast charging and camera versatility. That said, prospective buyers may want to wait for Vivo's regional launch plans and pricing before making a purchase decision.

Motorola Edge 70 Max appears on WPC certification, confirms name, 25W wireless charging

[highlights]

Motorola Edge 70 Max moniker has been confirmed.

The smartphone is expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset.

It will be the first Max model in the lineup.

[/highlights]

Motorola's rumoured Edge 70 Max has made its first official appearance, with the smartphone surfacing on the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) certification database. While certification listings often reveal only limited details, this one is significant as it officially confirms both the Motorola Edge 70 Max branding and the phone's existence ahead of launch.

Motorola Edge 70 Max confirmed

The WPC listing confirms 25W wireless charging support for the Edge 70 Max, making it one of Motorola's fastest wireless charging implementations in the Edge lineup. More importantly, the WPC certification includes renders of the smartphone, which show a curved screen, different from the flat design that leaked earlier this month.

The previously leaked renders had revealed one of the biggest design changes Motorola has made to its Edge lineup in years. Unlike previous Edge smartphones, which largely relied on curved displays (except for select Neo models), the Edge 70 Max adopts a completely flat display paired with flat aluminium-style frames. A flat display would mean improved grip and fewer accidental touches compared to curved screens.

But based on this certification, it appears that Motorola might continue with a curved screen for the Edge 70 Max. The camera design is also slightly different on both phones.

The smartphone is tipped to launch in Onyx Black, Sage Green, and Glacier Blue colour options, which will most likely be Pantone certified. Previously leaked marketing materials also suggest the Edge 70 Max will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. If accurate, that would place it alongside Motorola's most premium phone yet, the Motorola Signature, since it uses the same processor. The leaked renders also confirm a triple-camera setup, possibly of a main camera, an ultra-wide lens, and a telephoto lens.

The Edge 70 Max is particularly noteworthy because it is the first 'Max' branded smartphone in Motorola's Edge series, expanding a lineup that already includes the Edge 70 Fusion, Edge 70 Pro, and Edge 70 Pro+. Based on everything revealed so far, the Max variant is shaping up to be the most premium and powerful model in the series. The Motorola Edge 70 Max could be a good option for those who want a performance-focused phone that doesn't compromise on design or cameras.

If these leaked specs hold, the Edge 70 Max could be worth waiting for if you prioritise flagship-grade performance and versatile cameras.

WhatsApp username reservations begin globally: here's how to claim yours

WhatsApp has started rolling out username reservations globally, allowing users to claim a unique username before the feature launches later this year.

[highlights]

WhatsApp has started rolling out username reservations globally, allowing users to claim a unique username.

The feature is expected to launch later this year.

WhatsApp will not offer a public username directory or discovery system.

[/highlights]

In one of its biggest privacy-focused updates in recent years, WhatsApp has started rolling out username reservations globally. The feature allows users to reserve a unique username before usernames become available for everyone later this year. This comes a few weeks after a report in April claimed WhatsApp had started rolling out usernames in order to let users chat without sharing phone numbers.

Once the feature rolls out to your account, you'll receive an in-app notification and can reserve a username by heading to Settings. WhatsApp says reservations are opening early because, with more than three billion users worldwide, many people are expected to compete for the same usernames.

How to reserve your WhatsApp username

To reserve a username, update WhatsApp to the latest version and navigate to Settings > Account > Username on Android. On iPhone, the option appears under your profile settings once it becomes available. Users will receive an in-app notification as the rollout reaches their account.

WhatsApp is also allowing creators, businesses and organisations to claim usernames that match their existing Instagram or Facebook handles, provided they are available. High-profile usernames belonging to celebrities, public figures and government entities have already been reserved by WhatsApp to reduce the risk of impersonation.

Feature rules and restrictions

Unlike traditional WhatsApp accounts, usernames will let users chat with new people, businesses, and groups without revealing their phone numbers. The company says the feature is optional and is designed to give users greater control over who can see their phone number.

WhatsApp has made it clear that usernames are not intended to function like social media handles. There will be no public directory or recommendation system for discovering users. Instead, someone will need to know your exact username before they can contact you for the first time.

The company is also introducing an optional username key, which acts as an additional layer of protection. Even if someone knows your username, they will need this key before starting a conversation if you choose to enable the feature. Usernames can also differ from your Instagram, Facebook or other social media handles, although matching names can be claimed where eligible.

Impact on privacy

Usernames address one of WhatsApp's biggest privacy limitations by allowing users to connect without sharing their phone numbers with strangers. The feature brings WhatsApp closer to messaging platforms such as Telegram and Signal, both of which already support username-based communication. However, unlike Telegram, WhatsApp is prioritising privacy by avoiding searchable username directories.

For most users, reserving a preferred username early is a sensible move, especially if they want a handle that matches their identity across other platforms. That said, the feature itself will roll out gradually over the coming months, so even after reserving a username, you'll need to wait until WhatsApp enables username-based messaging in your region.

Nothing Phone (4b) confirmed to use Snapdragon chipset ahead of July 7th launch

Nothing has confirmed its upcoming phone, the nothing phone 4b, will use a Qualcomm processor. Here's the latest.

[highlights]

Nothing has confirmed that the Phone (4b) will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, without naming which one.

The phone was spotted with the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 SoC on Geekbench earlier.

The Nothing Phone 4b will be the first model in the company's "budget" b-series.

[/highlights]

Nothing has confirmed another key detail about its upcoming Nothing Phone (4b) ahead of its global and India debut on July 7th. The company has announced that the smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, although the exact chipset will only be revealed during the launch event. The announcement comes just days after multiple leaks and a Geekbench listing suggested the handset could use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 SoC.

Leaked and confirmed specifications

Nothing has only confirmed the presence of a Snapdragon processor so far. However, a recent Geekbench listing points to the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset, paired with 8GB RAM and Android 16-based Nothing OS. Separately, tipster Yogesh Brar claims the Phone (4b) will feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 5,400mAh battery, and a dual rear camera setup led by a 50MP primary sensor. The phone is also expected to be available in 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB storage variants.

The Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 has already been used in smartphones such as the OPPO K13 5G and Realme P3 5G. If priced aggressively, the Phone (4b) could emerge as an alternative to MediaTek Dimensity 6300-powered smartphones that populate this segment.

Nothing has already revealed part of the design through official teasers. Instead of the segmented Glyph Interface seen on previous models, the Phone (4b) will feature a compact Glyph Bar on the camera plateau. It will continue to report charging progress, notifications, and app alerts while giving the rear panel a cleaner appearance. The transparent design language also remains intact, helping the device reinforce the Nothing aesthetic.

Expected price and availability

Nothing will unveil the Phone (4b) globally on July 7th at 4 pm IST. While the company has not announced pricing yet, it's confirmed that the smartphone will sit below the Phone (4a) series, which starts current at Rs 37,999. Even though the other Snapdragon 6 Gen 4-powered smartphones started well below Rs 20,000, it's highly unlikely the Phone (4b) will sport a similar price tag. Rising component costs have pushed smartphone prices considerably higher, and Nothing co-founder Carl Pei has explicitly said users shouldn't expect the prices to stabilise anytime soon.

Most rivals in the segment offer batteries around the 7,000mAh mark, so Nothing will have to make a mark with more than just design and software experience to sway buyers in its favour. Pricing and launch offers will determine how competitive the Phone (4b) is, so users should wait until the July 7 launch to evaluate its cameras, pricing and overall value before making a purchase.

Vivo X500 Pro Max could carry 8,000mAh or above battery, Xiaomi 18's battery capacity also tipped

Over the weekend, the battery capacities of the Vivo X500 Pro Max and Xiaomi 18 have been revealed through leaks.

[highlights]

This could be the first time Vivo will unveil four X-series smartphones at once.

The Xiaomi 18 may run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6.

Both phones are expected to launch in September 2026

[/highlights]

Chinese smartphone makers Vivo and Xiaomi are gearing up to raise battery capacities of their upcoming flagship smartphones, according to fresh leaks that surfaced over the weekend. As leaked earlier, Chinese tipster Smart Pikachu has reaffirmed that the Vivo X500 lineup will consist of four smartphones, while Digital Chat Station has revealed that the highest model in the series could come with an 8,000mAh-class battery. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 18 is expected to gain a major capacity boost over the Xiaomi 17.

Vivo X500 series expected to include four models

Over the last few days, a leak has been circulating on Weibo stating that the Vivo X500 series will comprise at least four models at launch, namely the Vivo X500e, X500, X500 Pro, and X500 Pro Max, courtesy of Smart Pikachu. Furthermore, just a few days earlier, DCS revealed the key specifications of the Vivo X500 Pro Max.

These include a 6.85-inch 2K LTPO display with 144Hz refresh rate, LPDDR6 RAM, and a high-end camera setup headlined by a 200MP periscope telephoto. It is said that the display will be sourced from BOE and feature large corners and symmetrical thin bezels. This is not the first time BOE will supply panels to Vivo, as the X300 series flaunted the BOE Q10+ displays. Coming back to Smart Pikachu's information, the 8,000mAh on the X500 Pro Max will act as a significant upgrade over X300 Pro's 6,510mAh battery, potentially resulting in far superior endurance.

In a reply to a comment, DCS mentioned that the 200MP periscope camera will utilise a 1/1.4-inch sensor, the same size as the one found in the Vivo X300 Pro, but further polished and refined. With the sensor already large enough, it makes sense for Vivo to continue optimising its imaging capabilities without altering the hardware much.

Xiaomi 18 to sport a 7,200mAh battery

When the Vivo X500 series' model and battery information surfaced, DCS has revealed that the upcoming Xiaomi 18 could rock a 7,200mAh battery. If this information holds, the Xiaomi flagship will have 200mAh more battery than the Chinese variant of Xiaomi 17, and 870mAh more than the global variant.

Just like its predecessors, the Xiaomi 18 is likely to feature a compact 6.3-inch display; therefore, it'll be a huge feat if the company manages to fit in such a large capacity in a small form factor. Apart from that, the device is said to pack a powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset, a dual 200MP camera system (including a 3x periscope telephoto), and advanced features like ultrasonic fingerprint sensing and full IP-rated waterproofing.

Both leaks reflect a growing trend among Chinese brands: packing larger batteries into compact flagships while supporting high-refresh-rate displays and advanced cameras. Though still early leaks, the promise of multi-day battery life is exciting for power users. Those needing a phone soon may want to consider current models, as the new flagships are expected to command premium prices. Both the Vivo X500 series and Xiaomi 18 series are anticipated to launch around September 2026.

The Redmi Turbo 5 launched in India recently as the company's first Turbo-series smartphone in the country. For the 8GB + 256GB, there is only a Rs 1,000 price difference between the two, with the Nord CE 6 being cheaper. Those chasing more RAM may lean towards the Turbo 5 as the Nord CE 6 only offers configurations in 8GB.

Redmi Turbo 5 vs OnePlus Nord CE 6: design

The Redmi Turbo 5 and OnePlus Nord CE 6 both offer premium durability, but they differ in their feel. Redmi uses an aluminium frame with a glass back, giving the phone a more premium in-hand feel, while the OnePlus relies on a polycarbonate body with a cleaner, understated design.

Despite packing a big battery, the Redmi Turbo 5 remains relatively compact and comfortable to hold, as per our review. The matte finish resists fingerprints well, while the Pixel Matrix lighting around the rear cameras adds a bit of personality while doubling as a notification and alert system.

The OnePlus Nord CE 6, meanwhile, also feels solid despite its plastic construction. Our review found the matte rear panel effective at hiding smudges, while the addition of MIL-STD-810H certification alongside IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings gives it an edge in terms of ruggedness. At 215 gms, however, it's a bit heavier than the Turbo 5, which weighs 204 gms.

The Redmi Turbo 5 comes in three colour options, including Turbo White (with subtle red accents on the camera rings and power button), Nitro Blue, and Asphalt Black. Meanwhile, the OnePlus Nord CE 6 is available in three colours, namely Fresh Blue, Lunar Pearl, and Pitch Black

Redmi Turbo 5 vs OnePlus Nord CE 6: display

Display quality is a strength for both phones. Our review found the Redmi Turbo 5's AMOLED panel offering punchy colours, excellent viewing angles, HDR support and strong outdoor visibility, making it enjoyable display for gaming and streaming despite its smaller size.

The OnePlus Nord CE 6, however, has the better multimedia package overall. Its larger 6.78-inch AMOLED display delivers vibrant colours, sharp details and a fluid experience, helped by OxygenOS 16's smooth animations. The stereo speakers also sound louder and crisper, making movies, OTT content and games slightly more immersive.

Redmi Turbo 5 vs OnePlus Nord CE 6: performance and battery

Performance is where the Redmi Turbo 5 pulls ahead. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra, it offers a clear advantage over the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 inside the OnePlus. The Redmi Turbo 5 consistently maintained 120fps gameplay in BGMI and Call of Duty: Mobile, while also delivering some of the strongest benchmark scores in its segment. The LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.1 storage and 3D Ice Loop cooling system help sustain performance during longer gaming sessions, although the phone does get slightly warm around the camera module under extended load.

[comparative-benchmark type="1" title="AnTuTu score" caption="AnTuTu assesses a smartphone's CPU, GPU, memory, and overall user experience (higher is better)" highlight="" products="41180,42000,,," ][/comparative-benchmark]

The OnePlus Nord CE 6 delivers a dependable everyday experience. Our review found the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 to handle multitasking and daily use with ease, while BGMI runs at up to 90fps. Supported casual games can utilise the display's full 144Hz refresh rate, and the dedicated Touch Reflex chip noticeably improves touch responsiveness. For most users, the Nord CE 6 offers enough performance, but serious gamers will appreciate the Redmi's extra headroom.

Battery life tells a slightly different story. While Redmi's 7,540mAh battery comfortably lasts a full day of heavy use, our review noted that higher-than-expected standby drain prevents the phone from making the most of its large capacity. On the upside, the bundled 100W charger takes the battery from 20 to 100 percent in just 51 minutes.

[comparative-benchmark type="3" title="PCMark Battery score (in hours)" caption="PCMark battery test measures phone battery life from 100% to 20% (higher is better)" highlight="" products="41180,42000,,," ][/comparative-benchmark]

Meanwhile, the OnePlus Nord CE 6 delivers stronger endurance in practice with its larger 8,000mAh cell. According to our review, it comfortably lasted up to 1.5 days with moderate usage and achieved 18 hours and 34 minutes in the PCMark battery benchmark, compared to the Redmi's 16 hours and 5 minutes. Charging is slower at 80W, taking around 68 minutes from 20 to 100 percent.

If gaming performance is your priority, the Redmi Turbo 5 is the better choice. If you value battery life, the OnePlus Nord CE 6 comes out ahead.

Redmi Turbo 5 vs OnePlus Nord CE 6: cameras

At the outset, it's important to note that neither smartphone is aimed at photography enthusiasts. Based on our review, the Redmi Turbo 5's 50MP primary camera captures sharp daylight shots with vibrant colours. The inclusion of an 8MP ultrawide camera also makes it more versatile than the Nord CE 6. However, the ultrawide and 20MP selfie cameras are average performers, making the primary sensor the highlight of the setup.

Redmi Turbo 5 camera samples:

[smartslider3 slider=2142]

The OnePlus Nord CE 6 drops the ultrawide camera altogether in favour of a basic 2MP secondary sensor. Its primary camera produces natural-looking colours and handles dynamic range well, but image detail and low-light performance could be better. On the flip side, the 32MP front camera captures sharper selfies than the Redmi and also supports 4K video recording, making it a better choice for video calls and content creation.

OnePlus Nord CE 6 camera samples:

[smartslider3 slider=2118]

Overall, the Redmi offers the more versatile rear camera system, while the OnePlus delivers a stronger front camera experience.

Redmi Turbo 5 vs OnePlus Nord CE 6: software

The Redmi Turbo 5 ships with HyperOS 3, while the Nord CE 6 runs OxygenOS 16. HyperOS 3 is smooth and feature-rich, offering useful additions such as Hyper Island, HyperAI tools and good connectivity with Xiaomi devices as well as Windows PCs, Macs and iPads. However, the experience is weighed down by a large number of pre-installed apps. Redmi also promises four Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates, giving it a significant long-term advantage.

However, OxygenOS 16 remains one of the cleanest Android interfaces. Our review notes that it offers fluid animations, useful AI-powered editing and productivity features, and plenty of customisation options. But OnePlus only promises two Android OS upgrades and four years of security updates, which falls behind most rivals in this price segment.

Summing up

The Redmi Turbo 5 and OnePlus Nord CE 6 are made for different user profiles. The Redmi Turbo 5 stands out with its class-leading gaming performance, premium build, faster charging, longer software support and stronger sustained performance. While its cameras aren't its strongest suit and standby battery optimisation could be better, it remains the better choice for gamers.

The OnePlus Nord CE 6, meanwhile, impressed us with its excellent battery endurance, vibrant AMOLED display, polished OxygenOS experience and strong build quality. Its shorter software support policy and average rear cameras are its biggest drawbacks, but it remains a good recommendation for users who prioritise multimedia consumption, battery life and a smooth everyday experience.

If performance and long-term value matter most, the Redmi Turbo 5 is the stronger buy. But if you want a larger display, longer battery life and a cleaner software experience at a slightly lower price, the OnePlus Nord CE 6 remains an excellent alternative.

Both devices feature 48MP triple rear cameras, including a telephoto lens with 4x optical zoom, the powerful Apple A19 Pro, extremely bright 120Hz ProMotion displays, and a vapour chamber to keep things cool under heavy pressure, such as gaming or outdoor video recordings.

If you're on the hunt for an all-out flagship device, the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max (review) should prove their worth, especially at the deal prices.
[caption id="attachment_681254" align="alignnone" width="600"] In pic: iPhone 17 Pro Max[/caption]
iPhone 17e and iPhone Air

Two polar opposite phones in Apple's current lineup, the iPhone 17e is seeing a discount of just Rs 4,000, while the iPhone Air could be a suitable pick under Rs 1,00,000 for those wishing to experience an extremely slim form factor. While the iPhone Air heavily misses out on camera flexibility due to the lack of an ultrawide and telephoto lens, it could be a worthwhile purchase for those who are fine with compromising on cameras.

Other iPhone deals

The iPhone 16, available for under Rs 60,000, could be an excellent entry point into the iPhone ecosystem for those eager to experience iOS. Meanwhile, the iPhone 15, under Rs 50,000 with offers, remains capable in 2026, offering solid performance and decent cameras, though it misses out on Apple Intelligence and the smooth 120Hz ProMotion display. With iOS 27 on the horizon, Apple claims it has noticeably improved performance on older devices, keeping both the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 relevant.

The iPhone 16 Plus and iPhone 16e appear to be the least exciting options in the lineup. The iPhone 16 offers hardware similar to the iPhone 16 Plus (albeit with a smaller battery), while delivering several meaningful upgrades over the iPhone 16e, such as Dynamic Island, an ultrawide lens, and MagSafe support.

With rumours that Apple may soon hike iPhone prices, especially for the iPhone 17 lineup, this could be the perfect time to buy one, especially at the discounted rates. As for Apple, online sales events like GOAT sale are critical for Apple to garner market share and build a larger consumer base in India.

iPhone 18 Pro and Ultra tipped to launch either on September 8th or 9th

Unlike previous years, the September Apple keynote is expected to focus solely on the iPhone 18 Pro models and the iPhone Ultra.

[highlights]

Labour Day could postpone the Apple fall event from September 8th to 9th.

It is all but confirmed that Apple's first foldable, iPhone Ultra, will be launched at the event, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro.

Pre-orders for the latest iPhones are said to start from September 10th or 11th.

[/highlights]

Apple has remained tight-lipped about its next iPhone launch event, but renowned Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman believes it will follow the usual schedule and take place in the second week of September. According to Gurman, the event is likely to be held on September 9th rather than September 8th. Unlike previous years, however, the September keynote is expected to focus solely on the iPhone 18 Pro models and the iPhone Ultra, with the standard iPhone 18, iPhone 18e, and iPhone Air reportedly delayed until Spring 2027.

iPhone 18 Pro and Ultra launch date, availability (expected)

Based on history, the most likely date for Apple's iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Ultra announcement is either Tuesday Sept. 8 or Wednesday Sept. 9. But Labor Day is on Sept. 7, so Apple may prefer a travel gap day and prefer Sept. 9 for that reason.
— Mark Gurman (@markgurman) June 28, 2026

The iPhone Ultra and the iPhone 18 Pro models are tipped to launch on either 8 or 9 September. According to reports, as Labour Day falls on September 7th, Apple may leave an extra day for travel and logistics, making September 9th the more likely date for its fall event, where its first-ever foldable, along with the latest Pro models, will be unveiled.

It's further being aniticipated that the pre-booking of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Ultra could start from September 10th or 11th.

iPhone 18 Pro and Ultra prices (rumoured)

The iPhone Ultra is expected to be the most expensive offering from Apple yet. The foldable is tipped to priced at $2,000 (~Rs 1,88,000). That's before taxes and local pricing adjustments, meaning its price in India could easily exceed Rs 2 lakh. If that happens, it would comfortably become one of the most expensive foldable smartphones on the market, making it a purchase that warrants careful consideration before taking the plunge.
[caption id="attachment_705409" align="aligncenter" width="1200"] iPhone Ultra[/caption]
The iPhone 18 Pro is also expected to carry a higher price tag than its predecessor. The increase is reportedly driven by rising memory and storage costs, which have already prompted Apple to raise prices for several products, including its MacBooks and iPads. If rumours prove accurate, the iPhone 18 Pro could start at around USD 1,399 (roughly Rs 1.32 lakh), a notable jump from the iPhone 17 Pro's starting price of USD 1,099 (around Rs 1.03 lakh).

iPhone 18 Pro and Ultra details

The iPhone 18 Pro is reportedly set to arrive in new colour options, although its overall design is expected to remain largely unchanged from its predecessor. Under the hood, it is tipped to feature Apple's new A20 chipset, the same processor expected to power the iPhone Ultra, and ship with iOS 27 out of the box.

While the camera hardware is likely to retain the same resolutions as the iPhone 17 Pro, Apple is expected to introduce meaningful behind-the-scenes upgrades. One of the most notable rumours points to a variable aperture for the main camera, allowing the lens to adjust its f-stop depending on the scene. This could offer better control over depth of field, improve exposure in bright conditions, and deliver more natural-looking background blur in videos.

The iPhone Ultra, meanwhile, will reportedly boast an exceptionally slim, precision-engineered hinge that could allow the foldable display to close with little to no visible crease. Furthermore, the smartphone could measure around 4.5mm thick when fully unfolded, making it even slimmer than the iPhone Air, which has a 5.6mm profile. By comparison, Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to come in at roughly 4.2mm when opened, underscoring the industry's push towards increasingly thinner foldable devices.

The leaked renders also suggest the phone will feature a horizontally aligned dual rear camera setup and retain Apple's Camera Control button. The larger foldable display is also tipped to support a new split-screen multitasking experience designed to improve productivity.

Apple has yet to confirm the details, so take the news with a grain of salt. But if you have been waiting for an innovative iPhone for years, the iPhone Ultra is worth keeping an eye on. The handset could be the most ambitious smartphone from the Cupertino-backed firm to date.

While the Galaxy M44 was introduced in select global markets nearly three years ago, it never arrived in India.

The Galaxy M47 5G competes in the sub-Rs 25,000 segment, where brands have been offering feature-packed smartphones. Samsung's differentiator, like always, is its long-term software support, which is unmatched in the segment.

Samsung Galaxy M47 key specifications

The Galaxy M47 5G sports a 6.7-inch Full HD+ flat Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection. Powering the smartphone is a Snapdragon processor, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. For photography, the phone features a 50MP primary camera, a 5MP ultrawide sensor and a 2MP macro camera. Selfies and video calls are handled by a 12MP front camera.

Keeping the lights on is a 6,000mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging. There is support for bypass charging too, making it a good option for gamers. While some rivals offer faster charging speeds, Samsung continues to prioritise battery endurance over bigger charging numbers. The large battery could appeal to users who want a phone that comfortably lasts through a full day of heavy use.

Software support and features

One area where Samsung continues to stand out is software support. The Galaxy M47 5G will receive six years of Android OS upgrades and security updates, which is among the longest support commitments available in the mid-range segment. That's an advantage for buyers who typically hold on to their smartphones for four or five years, as it means they'll continue receiving new Android features and security patches well beyond what many competing phones offer.

The phone also benefits from Samsung's One UI experience, which is one of the brand's biggest strengths thanks to its feature-rich interface, regular updates and ecosystem integration. AI features include Object Eraser, Edit Suggestion and My Filter, making the phone a compelling options for content creators or those who like to regularly post on social media.

Samsung Galaxy M47 pricing and colour options

The Galaxy M47 5G starts at an effective price of Rs 22,999 including a coupon offer and/or bank discount. The official pricing for variants will be updated here shortly. The phone goes on sale on July 4th, which coincides with the start of the Amazon Prime Day sale.

The phone will be available via Amazon in Rogue Red and Blaze Blue colours.

Together with the software support, AI features, large battery and bypass charging, Samsung has positioned the Galaxy M47 5G as a dependable all-rounder. Considering the price hike situation plaguing the industry right now, a starting price of Rs 22,999 for a phone with a 6,000mAh battery, a Snapdragon chipset, triple camera setup and a long-term software promise, is quite a good deal. Readers should consider taking advantage of the launch offer during the Amazon Prime Day sale as Samsung's software support, AI features and ecosystem advantages make this a good deal.

Infinix Hot 70 Pro spotted on Geekbench with 8GB RAM and a possible MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset

Infinix Hot 70 appears on Geekbench with Android 16, 8GB RAM and a possible Dimensity 7100 chipset, suggesting a modest upgrade over the Hot 60.

[highlights]

Geekbench lists the Infinix Hot 70 Pro as model X6896 with Android 16 and 8GB RAM.

A code image points to a Mali-G610 MC2 GPU, found in the Dimensity 7100 chipset.

The Hot 70 Pro appears to offer a modest upgrade over the Hot 60's Dimensity 7020.

[/highlights]

The Infinix Hot 70 Pro seems to be launching soon, as we've spotted a fresh Geekbench listing that offers an early look at what the phone may bring. The device has surfaced before any official launch announcement, giving us a better idea of its possible hardware. For context, an Infinix Hot 70 has already launched in Indonesia, but the Geekbench listing suggests hardware differences between the two regional launches. Let's check it out below.

What's been revealed

The Geekbench listing shows the model number X6896, along with Android 16 and 8GB of RAM. The memory section lists 7.37GB of usable RAM, which usually means the device is fitted with 8GB RAM in total. The benchmark result itself also shows respectable performance numbers, with 978 in single-core testing and 2,843 in multi-core testing.

A separate code image adds another important clue here, as it lists the GPU as Mali-G610 MC2, which is used in the Dimensity 7100 chipset. The chipset has also been used in the Infinix Note Edge (review), which launched back in February and posted similar Geekbench results.

Traditionally, the Infinix Hot series sits under the Edge series in pricing and currently the Note Edge retails for Rs 22,999. It is likely the Hot 70 Pro will launch under the sub-Rs 20,000 bracket unless the Note Edge undergoes a price hike, which has been the norm for brands as of late.

There is no direct predecessor to the Hot 70 Pro, but compared with the Hot 60, which used the Dimensity 7020, the new model appears to bring a modest performance upgrade. Other hardware such as the display, battery size, camera setup and charging speed may stay largely the same, with the main improvement centred on the processor and RAM.

The Dimensity 7100-class chipset would place the Hot 70 Pro in a more competitive spot against other sub-Rs 20,000 phones that now focus on bigger batteries. Going by what the Indonesian variant of the Hot 70, it seems to be a phone designed for everyday use for an average user. Buyers prioritising battery life, a premium and unique design, and a smooth display may find it appealing.

It would still make sense to wait for reviews or compare with rivals before making a buying decision. We'll know more details once the phone nears launch. Until then it's tricky to make an informed decision wether the device is worth investing in.

Vivo X Fold 6 launched in China with 7,000mAh battery, 200MP camera: price, specifications

The Vivo X Fold 6 has launched in China with one of the largest batteries on a foldable. Here's everything about the phone.

[highlights]

Vivo X Fold 6 has launched with a 7,000mAh battery, one of the largest for a foldable.

The foldable starts at CNY 7,999 (around Rs 1.11 lakh) and goes on sale in China from July 1st.

It packs a 200MP Zeiss-backed main camera with 80W wired and 40W wireless charging.

[/highlights]

Vivo has taken the wraps off its latest foldable, the Vivo X Fold 6, in China. The new book-style foldable packs a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, one of the biggest we've seen on a foldable smartphone, along with the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super chipset, Zeiss-backed cameras and an upgraded Samsung M14 foldable display. The X Fold 6 succeeds last year's X Fold 5 and will go on sale in China from July 1st.

Vivo X Fold 6 prices in China

The Vivo X Fold 6 starts at CNY 7,999 (around Rs 1.11 lakh) for the 12GB + 256GB variant. The 12GB + 512GB, 16GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB models are priced at CNY 8,999 (around Rs 1.25 lakh), CNY 9,999 (around Rs 1.39 lakh) and CNY 10,999 (around Rs 1.53 lakh), respectively.

Vivo has also introduced a Black Gold Edition with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, priced at CNY 11,299 (around Rs 1.57 lakh). The phone will be available in Blue Hole, Polar Night and Salt Lake colours.

Vivo X Fold 6 specifications

The biggest selling point of the Vivo X Fold 6 will be the battery. At 7,000mAh, the X Fold 6 sits ahead of most premium foldables currently on the market. For comparison, Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 7 packs a 4,400mAh battery, OPPO's Find N6 comes with a 6,000mAh cell, while the standard Honor Magic V6 offers 6,660mAh. The only foldable with a larger battery is the Chinese 1 TB variant of the Honor Magic V6, which ships with a 7,150mAh battery.

Normally, the trade-off with big battery foldables is added thickness and weight. Notably, Vivo hasn't had to make the phone dramatically bulkier to achieve this. The X Fold 6 measures 4.4 mm when unfolded and 9.4 mm when folded. That's only slightly thicker than the Galaxy Z Fold 7, OPPO Find N6 and Honor Magic V6, but the difference isn't dramatic. At 228 gms, it's also a little heavier than Z Fold 7 at 215 gms foldable and the Magic V6 at at 224 gms. Vivo seems to be okay trading a few grams and millimetres here and there for a much larger battery.

For display, the Vivo X Fold 6 sports an 8.02-inch Samsung M14 AMOLED inner display and a 6.51-inch AMOLED cover screen, both with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR support and up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness. Vivo says the hinge is rated for 600,000 folds, while the phone also carries IP58 and IP59 ratings for dust and water resistance.

On the camera front, Vivo has equipped the X Fold 6 with a Zeiss-tuned triple rear setup comprising a 200MP primary camera with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide sensor and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera. The company is also bringing support for its second-generation 200 mm external telephoto lens, giving photography enthusiasts more flexibility for long-range shots. There are two 20MP selfie cameras, one on each display, and the phone supports video recording at up to 8K.

The foldable is powered by the 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super chipset, paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. Other highlights include 80W wired and 40W wireless charging, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, an IR blaster, NavIC support and Android 16-based OriginOS 6 Fold.

India availability

Vivo hasn't confirmed whether the X Fold 6 will launch in India, but an arrival looks likely based on past trends. The company entered India's premium foldable segment with the X Fold 3 Pro in 2024 before following it up with the X Fold 5 in July 2025, priced at Rs 1.49 lakh.

If the X Fold 6 makes its way to India, it will compete with foldables including the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and maybe even the rumoured iPhone Ultra. On paper, Vivo appears to have chosen endurance over chasing the thinnest design, while also strengthening its camera hardware. Those prioritising battery and cameras in a foldable should look out for the Vivo X Fold 6 announcement.

iPhone 17 series prices could reportedly be increased by up to Rs 35,000, claims tipster

The iPhone 17 series could see a major price hike, if a new tip is to be believed. Here's what the new iPhone 17 prices may look like.

[highlights]

A new leak claims Apple could increase iPhone 17 series prices in India, with the iPhone 17 Pro Max potentially touching Rs 1.99 lakh.

The tipped revised prices include the iPhone 17, iPhone 17e, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

Flipkart has teased discounted prices for the iPhone 17 series during its GOAT Sale.

[/highlights]

Till now, Apple was one of the few OEMs to not raise prices of their smartphones due to the ongoing memory crisis. Seems that is going to change soon if a new tip is to be believed. Tipster Sanju Choudhary has shared a list of revised prices for the iPhone 17 series, iPhone 17e and iPhone Air, with increases ranging from Rs 10,000 to as much as Rs 35,000. Apple hasn't commented on the new prices yet, so it should be treated as speculation for now.

iPhone 17 series tipped price hike

According to the tipster, the iPhone 17 could see its price rise from Rs 82,990 to Rs 94,900. The iPhone 17e is tipped to go from Rs 64,900 to Rs 74,900, while the iPhone Air could jump from Rs 1,19,900 to Rs 1,34,900.

The biggest increases are expected for the Pro models. The iPhone 17 Pro, currently priced at Rs 1,34,900, is tipped to cost between Rs 1,54,900 and Rs 1,69,900. Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Pro Max could reportedly climb from Rs 1,49,900 to anywhere between Rs 1,84,900 and Rs 1,99,900.

The prediction also comes after Apple recently increased prices of several products in India, including select MacBooks, iPads and the HomePod. Separately, leaks have suggested that the upcoming iPhone 18 series could also debut at higher prices, indicating that Apple may be preparing for a broader pricing shift across its product lineup.

When should you buy the iPhone 17 series?

If these prices come into effect, Apple's premium phones would become considerably more expensive than flagship Android rivals. While Apple's ecosystem continues to be a major draw for many buyers, such steep price revisions could make premium Android alternatives more attractive from a value perspective.

If you've been planning to buy an iPhone, the upcoming Flipkart GOAT Sale may be your best opportunity. Flipkart has already teased aggressive discounts on the iPhone 17 lineup and on some older iPhones too, although these prices will include eligible bank offers and are expected to be available in limited quantities.

The iPhone 17 is expected to be available for Rs 70,990, while the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max have been teased at Rs 1,12,900 and Rs 1,27,900, respectively. The iPhone Air is listed at Rs 95,900, while the iPhone 17e could be available for Rs 60,900. Older models are also seeing sizeable discounts, including the iPhone 16 at Rs 59,900, the iPhone 16 Plus at Rs 73,900, the iPhone 16e at Rs 55,900 and the iPhone 15 at Rs 49,900.

If you manage to grab one of these offers, it could be worth buying during the sale rather than waiting. Stocks at these prices are usually limited, but missing the sale may not be ideal either, so it's best to act fast.

OPPO Reno 16, Reno 16c roundup: India launch date, specifications, expected pricing

OPPO is all set to launch the Reno 16 series in India next week, bringing two smartphones: the Reno 16 (first impressions) and the new Reno 16c. It's also bringing an interesting new accessory called the OPPO Bubble. The company has already confirmed several key features, while leaks have filled in many of the remaining details. Here's everything we know ahead of launch.

OPPO Reno 16 series India launch date and availability

The OPPO Reno 16 series will debut in India on July 2nd and will be available through Amazon India. The phones are also expected to go on sale via OPPO's online store and offline retail partners.

OPPO Reno 16 specifications: confirmed and expected

OPPO has confirmed a 6.32-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1,800 nits peak brightness, and the new AI Snap Key, which works similarly to OnePlus' AI Plus Key for quickly saving content to MindSpace. The Reno 16 is also launching with a versatile camera setup featuring a 50MP primary, 50MP ultra-wide, and 50MP telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom, along with a 50MP ultra-wide selfie camera. It supports 4K 60fps HDR recording across all three rear cameras.

Leaks suggest the phone will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, paired with a 6,700mAh battery and 80W fast charging. The Reno 16 also carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K durability ratings, making it one of the most rugged premium mid-range phones on paper.

OPPO Reno 16c specifications: confirmed and expected

The Reno 16c is expected to be the more affordable sibling while retaining much of the Reno 16's design language. It features a larger 6.57-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,400 nits peak brightness. Although OPPO hasn't confirmed the chipset yet, global variants suggest the Reno 16c could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy processor.

It is also expected to feature a 7,000mAh battery with 80W charging, giving it a clear advantage in battery life. Like the Reno 16, the 16c also features the AI Snap Key, IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K certifications, an aerospace-grade aluminium frame, and OPPO's latest AI camera features.

OPPO Reno 16, Reno 16c India price (expected)

According to a recent leak, the OPPO Reno 16 could launch at Rs 59,999, while the Reno 16c 5G may be priced at Rs 49,999.

If accurate, this would mark a significant premium over the previous generation. For comparison, the Reno 15 debuted at Rs 45,999, while the Reno 15c launched at Rs 34,999. The reported pricing suggests OPPO is also affected by the ongoing issue in the smartphone industry due to a surge in memory costs.

OPPO Bubble: A unique camera companion

Launching alongside the phones is the OPPO Bubble, a magnetic accessory featuring a 1.73-inch AMOLED display. It doubles as a wireless camera viewfinder and remote shutter, allowing users to frame shots using the rear cameras. It also supports Bluetooth connectivity up to 10 metres, custom wallpapers, interactive pets, IP54 protection, and packs a 550mAh battery.

Should you wait for the Reno 16 series?

The Reno 16 series appears to focus on refinement rather than radical changes. The Reno 16 will likely appeal to users looking for a compact smartphone with flagship-style cameras and premium build quality, while the Reno 16c could attract buyers who prioritise battery life and a larger display at a relatively lower price.

That said, the expected prices place both devices in an increasingly competitive segment populated by the OnePlus 15R, Vivo X200T, and the Motorola Signature. Whether OPPO's premium strategy pays off will ultimately depend on the final pricing, software experience, and real-world camera performance, all of which will become clearer after the July 2nd launch.

Next week marks the end of June and the beginning of July, and with it comes a wave of smartphone launches. From an affordable offering by OnePlus to a mid-range device from Samsung and an upper mid-range smartphone from OPPO, there's something for every budget and segment. We have compiled a list of smartphones set to debut next week, along with their launch date and expected specifications. Check it out.

Samsung Galaxy M47

Samsung will kick off next week's launches with its Galaxy M47 smartphone on June 29th. The latest M-series from the OEM is confirmed to be an Amazon special and powered by a Snapdragon chipset. The SoC will be paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. While most details are under wraps, the Samsung Galaxy M47 key specs have been revealed.

Specs at a glance

6.7-inch 120Hz Super AMOLED display

LPDDR5X RAM + UFS 3.1 storage

50MP + 5MP + 2MP rear cameras

12MP front camera

Software will be one of the biggest highlights of the smartphone. The Galaxy M47 will receive six OS upgrades and six years of security updates, which could be the highest for the segment. The handset will feature a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection, which should get decently bright and offer smooth scrolling and gaming performance.

In optics, the Galaxy M47 could sport a triple camera setup, comprising a 50MP OIS main sensor, a 5MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro unit. For selfies and video calling, it could rely on a 12MP snapper in the punch-hole setup. The handset will support up to 4K video recording.

Other features will include 45W fast charging and bypass charging. The official teaser has revealed the Samsung Galaxy M47 with flat edges and in two colour options: Rogue Red and Blaze Blue.

OnePlus N6

Next week also marks the launch of OnePlus' entry in the budget space. The OEM has lined up the launch of its new smartphone in the N-series, called OnePlus N6, on June 30th. The handset is said to be priced between the Rs 18,000 and Rs 25,000 segment.

Specs at a glance

MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Apex

6GB RAM

OxygenOS 16

8,000mAh battery, 45W charging

The main highlight of the phone is its battery. The OnePlus N6 will house an 8,000mAh battery, backed by 45W fast charging. It'll run Android 16-based OxygenOS 16 out of the box. The alleged Geekbench listing has revealed MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Apex SoC, paired with 6GB RAM, on the smartphone. The phone's design has already been showcased, confirming flat edges and a squarish rear camera module.

The OnePlus N6 will feature dual rear cameras, reportedly with a 50MP primary sensor. Furthermore, the device will be available in two colour options: black and green, and is promised to offer smooth performance for up to 5 years.

OPPO Reno16

The OPPO Reno16 is set to debut in India on July 2nd as the successor to the company's Reno15, launched earlier this year. The handset will continue to prioritise design, durability and cameras. The official images have confirmed a 3D design on the back of the OPPO Reno16. Additionally, the handset will boast an aluminium frame, with splash touch and glove touch technology. As for durability, it is said to be IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K rated, protecting it even against high-pressure and high-temperature water jets.

Specs at a glance

6.32-inch FHD+ AMOLED display

50MP triple rear cameras

50MP front camera

IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications

As for the specifications, the OPPO Reno 16 is confirmed to feature a 6.32-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,800 nits of peak brightness. The relatively compact screen size should make the phone easier to handle with one hand, appealing to users who prefer smaller smartphones without sacrificing a high-refresh-rate display. It will also feature OPPO's new AI Snap Key, which acts as a shortcut for AI-powered features and quick access to MindSpace, making frequently used tools more accessible.

In optics, the Reno 16 will sport a 50MP triple rear camera setup and a 50MP front-facing camera. The cameras should deliver promising results. The phone will most likely run ColorOS 16 out of the box. Its design looks identical to its predecessor, OPPO Reno 15, with its squarish camera module. The handset will be available in Starry White, Twilight Violet, and Stellar Purple colour variants.

OPPO Reno 16c

The OPPO Reno 16c is launching alongside the Reno 16 in India on July 2nd. The handset will be a more affordable version of its vanilla sibling, but share quite a few traits. These include the eye-catching design, up to IP69K durability, and the 50MP cameras. However, the smartphone won't be as compact as the Reno 16.

Specs at a glance

6.57-inch FHD+ AMOLED display

50MP triple rear cameras

50MP front camera

IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications

The OPPO Reno 16c will sport a 6.57-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, with a peak brightness of 1,400 nits. Like the Reno 16, the smartphone will also sport an aerospace-grade aluminium frame, along with Splash Touch and Glove Touch support for improved durability and usability.

There is no word on the OPPO Reno 16c's pricing at the moment. Alongside the Reno 16 series, OPPO is also introducing the OPPO Bubble, a magnetic accessory with a 1.73-inch AMOLED circular display that attaches to the back of the phone. It can function as a camera viewfinder and remote shutter, making it useful for selfies and group shots. The accessory also supports a 10-metre Bluetooth range, custom wallpapers and interactive pets, packs a 550mAh battery, and comes with an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance. While it's a niche accessory, it could add a fun and practical element for users who frequently use their phone's cameras.

This will mark the global debut of the smartphone, designed for the ‘young' and ‘neo' generations. The letter 'N' stands for New, Neo, and Never Off, per the company.

Fans from far and wide can watch the OnePlus N6 launch live streaming via the company's social media channels and YouTube account. As always, we will be covering the launch live, bringing you the official OnePlus N6 price in India, sale details, and everything else.

OnePlus N6 price in India

Mum is the word on the OnePlus N6 price in India at the moment. However, if the company's words are anything to go by, the handset could be priced anywhere between Rs 18,000 and Rs 25,000. The smartphone will target the young population in the Rs 18,000-Rs 25,000 segment, said OnePlus in its press note. The handset is expected to be offered in Black and Green colour options.

OnePlus N6 specifications

The OnePlus N6 is likely to run the OxygenOS 16 out of the box, which is optimised to deliver up to 60 months of smooth performance through software and hardware optimisations aimed at reducing slowdowns over time. Moreover, its design language will be on par with other OnePlus smartphones launched lately. Per the press renders, the OnePlus N6 will feature flat edges and a squarish camera module at the back.

Moving on, the company has officially confirmed a massive 8,000mAh battery on the smartphone, which is claimed to offer up to three days of usage on a single charge, making battery life one of its biggest highlights. The OnePlus N6 is also said to retain over 80 percent battery health even after 7 years of regular charging for longevity.

The battery will be paired with 45W SuperVooc charging, which seems to be the standard in the affordable segment. While details about the chipset remain under wraps, an alleged benchmark listing confirms a MediaTek Dimensity 6300-series chipset, aided by 6GB of RAM. The Dimensity 6300-series chipset has already debuted on a handful of smartphones, which have been capable of handling everyday tasks such as social media, messaging, video streaming, and casual gaming in our review.

Other details, such as the OnePlus N6's cameras and display, remain under wraps.

Should you wait for the OnePlus N6?

The OnePlus N6 is shaping up to be a compelling option for buyers seeking the core OnePlus experience at an affordable price point. That said, it will enter a highly competitive segment, where it is expected to rival devices such as the Realme P4R and OPPO K13. Notably, the Realme offering also packs an 8,000mAh battery, making battery life less of a differentiator for the N6.

The OnePlus N6's success could hinge on two factors: software optimisation and pricing. If the smartphone manages to meet both expectations, as we'll find out in our full review, it could be a worthwhile purchase.

Apple reportedly approves iPhone Ultra 2 as iPhone Air 3 remains uncertain

Apple has reportedly approved an iPhone Ultra 2 despite the first foldable iPhone not even coming out yet. Here's the latest.

[highlights]

Apple is reportedly developing the rumoured iPhone Ultra 2 with a wider foldable display.

Apple's first foldable iPhone is tipped to enter mass production by the end of July.

The iPhone Air 3 could depend on the sales performance of the upcoming iPhone Air 2.

[/highlights]

We've not even gotten confirmation from Apple that they're launching their first foldable, but a report coming from China has seemingly confirmed that even the second generation of the iPhone Ultra is on its way. A new leak from tipster Digital Chat Station suggests the company has internally approved work on the second-generation iPhone Ultra, even before the first foldable iPhone expectedly launches later this year. At the same time, the future of Apple's slim iPhone Air lineup will depend on how well its next model performs in the market.

iPhone Ultra 2 reportedly approved

In a post on Weibo, Digital Chat Station claims the successor to Apple's first foldable, which is expected to launch as the iPhone Ultra, has already been approved internally. He further suggests the second-generation model could feature a wider folding display than the first-generation iPhone Ultra (which is already said to be wide), although Apple is reportedly expected to reuse the same display panel while tweaking the aspect ratio.

The leak comes as reports indicate Apple's first foldable iPhone is moving closer to production. According to The Elec, citing supply chain sources, Apple has finalised key specifications after validating major components, including the display, chassis and mechanical structure. The report adds that the company completed its first round of trial production in April, with manufacturing partner Foxconn expected to begin mass production by the end of July. The publication also noted that most of the hinge-related challenges that previously delayed development have now been resolved.

iPhone Air 3 may depend on sales

The outlook appears less certain for the iPhone Air series. According to the same Weibo leak, Apple has not yet started development of the iPhone Air 3, and the decision to move ahead with the model will depend on the commercial success of the upcoming iPhone Air 2. The phone is expected to launch next spring alongside the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e. If sales fail to meet Apple's expectations, the company could reportedly discontinue the Air lineup altogether.

Apple's reported strategy reflects where it sees long-term growth opportunities. Foldable smartphones have matured rapidly, with Samsung, HONOR, OPPO and Vivo already offering multiple generations of book-style foldables. Entering the category could help Apple compete more directly in the premium segment. Meanwhile, the ultra-thin smartphone category is still finding its audience, making the Air lineup a riskier proposition.

Phones launched in 2025 that are still worth buying today

Here's a list of smartphones from last year that are still relevant to purchase in 2026.

Just last year, smartphone brands went all out, releasing phones with over 1 million AnTuTu scores, ultrawide lenses, curved 1080p AMOLED displays, and a promise of three OS upgrades all under Rs 20,000. Fast forward to mid-2026, phones launching in this segment are riddled with 720p panels, with AnTuTu scores barely crossing 7 lakh and single cameras with small sensor sizes, all due to brands taking measures to keep prices in check amid rising memory costs. Similarly, newly released phones in higher-priced segments have met the same fate.

Therefore, if you want the best value for your money, there are several smartphones from 2025 that continue to make sense in 2026, especially for users with particular needs and demands. In this article, we've handpicked the top smartphones under every pricing segment from last year that are still relevant today.

Note: Smartphone prices listed below are current as of the publishing date, with the chance of prices seeing an increase in the future, or the phones going out of stock.

Phones around Rs 20,000

Realme P4x

Current price - Rs 19,499 (Flipkart)

Best for - Affordable mobile gaming, snappy UI operations

Remaining software support - 2 OS upgrades with security patches till 2029

The Realme P4x (review) remains one of the safest options in the Rs 20,000 range for those seeking a reliable midrange smartphone. Boasting a large 7,000mAh battery, the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra enables the phone to offer a reliable level of performance and strong battery endurance even with intense use. Even though the LCD panel may not deliver as vibrant tones as its AMOLED counterparts, the display is crisp and sufficiently saturated for watching content. With stereo speakers present, the P4x won't disappoint casual movie/show viewers.

Apart from that, Realme UI is one of the most functional Android skins in the Rs 20,000 segment, offering snappy animations that make switching between apps feel quick and fluid. With the Android 16-based Realme UI 7 update rolling out, P4x will further receive two more OS upgrades, making it a solid midrange pick for buyers seeking new features and software advancements in the coming years.

Moto G57 Power

Current price - Rs 20,999 (Flipkart)

Best for - Reliable primary camera, strong battery life

Remaining software support - 1 OS upgrade (Android 17) with security patches till 2028

The Moto G57 Power (review) features a capable 50MP Sony LYT-600 primary sensor with a large 1/2-inch size, paired with an 8MP ultrawide lens and an 8MP selfie camera. Thanks to its bigger sensor, it promises better detail retention and stronger low-light performance compared to newer rivals like the OPPO K14 and POCO M8, which use smaller 1/2.88-inch sensors and lack an ultrawide camera altogether.

When combined with its massive 7,000mAh battery, the Moto G57 Power becomes a suitable choice for photography enthusiasts and outdoor shooters on a tight budget who need dependable camera outputs during extended shooting sessions. Since the smartphone is set to get just Android 17, the deal makes more sense for those who prioritise cameras over software longevity.

Phones under Rs 25,000

Infinix GT 30 5G

Current price - Rs 21,999 (Flipkart)

Best for - Gaming with precise button control, flashy design

Remaining software support - 1 OS upgrade (Android 17) with security patches till 2028

In a time when other Dimensity 7400-powered phones like the OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite, iQOO Z11x, and Vivo T5x feature LCD panels, that too above Rs 23,000, last year's Infinix GT 30 (review) stands tall with a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display and 144Hz refresh rate, which can be mapped to almost any in-game action. BGMI can be played at 90fps in Smooth frame rate settings, while Genshin Impact runs at 30-40fps on High settings. Paired with a large vapour chamber, one can expect efficient gaming performance.

The rear sports LED light strips, along with gamery aesthetics, make the GT 30 stand out, while the slim display bezels offer the device a premium look. On the software front, the device has recently received the XOS 16 update, which features smoother animations, a new quick settings panel design, and glowing lighting effects sprinkled throughout the UI.

iQOO Z10R - Rs 22,999

Current price - Rs 22,999 (Amazon)

Best for - Display experience, slim ergonomics

Remaining software support - 1 OS upgrade (Android 17) with security patches till 2028

Up next is the iQOO Z10R (review), one of the very few phones from last year still available in stock under Rs 25,000 that offers an AMOLED display with quad-curved edges. Measuring 6.77 inches, the display offers a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, while the high brightness levels max out at 1,300 nits. The panel delivers punchy tones, accompanied by a stereo speaker setup for an immersive audio experience.

The phone weighs just 184g and is fairly slim at 7.4mm, resulting in lightweight and portable ergonomics. On the performance front, just like the Realme P4x, it runs on the Dimensity 7400, which is sufficient for delivering snappy performance. As for the downsides, it features a relatively smaller battery at 5,7000mAh compared to newer phones.

Phones under Rs 30,000

Realme P3 Ultra

Current price - Rs 26,999 (Flipkart)

Best for - High-end performance, good all-rounder

Remaining software support - 2 OS upgrades with security patches till 2029

Currently selling at its launch price, the Realme P3 Ultra (review) excels in most aspects. It gets a 1.5K quad-curved AMOLED display, the powerful Dimensity 8350 Ultra chipset, a 50MP 1/1.56-inch primary camera, an IP69 rating, and a decently sized 6,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging. Given the pricing situation of smartphones these days, the Realme P3 Ultra offers extreme value, making it a much better pick than the Realme 16T, Vivo T5 Pro, and OnePlus Nord CE 6.

With the Android 16-based Realme UI 7 update now available for the Realme P3 Ultra, the phone is set to receive two more OS upgrades and three years of security patch updates, making it a suitable all-rounder with decent software longevity.

OPPO K13 Turbo

Current price - Rs 27,999 (Flipkart)

Best for - High intensity gaming, smooth software

Remaining software support - 1 OS upgrade (Android 17) with security patches till 2028

Six months into 2026, the OPPO K13 Turbo (review) remains one of the strongest gaming phones under Rs 30,000. Unlike many rivals facing price hikes, it is still available at its launch price of Rs 27,999 on Flipkart. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8450 and an active cooling fan, in our in-house tests, it delivered an impressive 115 FPS average in BGMI and showed just 2.5 degrees Celsius temperature rise even after 1.5 hours of heavy BGMI and CODM gaming.

It also offers a smooth software experience with ColorOS 16, making it an excellent choice for those who value fluid interactions. The phone is set to receive ColorOS 17 based on Android 17 in a few months, which should bring even better animations and fluidity. The only notable downside of the K13 Turbo is its average camera performance, particularly in low-light conditions.

Moto Edge 60 Pro - Rs 29,999

Current price - Rs 29,999 (Flipkart)

Best suitable for - Telephoto lens capabilities, flagship-like features

Remaining software support - 2 OS upgrades with security patches till 2029

At Rs 29,999, the Moto Edge 60 Pro (review) continues to be one of the smartest buys in mid-2026. While most new launches in this price range are making heavy compromises due to rising component costs, the Edge 60 Pro delivers a balanced package. The handset features a 6.7-inch 1.5K curved pOLED display, a capable MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Extreme chipset, a decently sized 6000mAh battery with 90W charging, IP68/IP69 rating, and a versatile triple camera setup with a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom.

While the telephoto lens may struggle in low light due to its small sensor size, it can surely come in handy for capturing portraits with precise edge detection. Then come the high-end features that are rarely seen at this price, which include 15W wireless charging, UFS 4.0 storage, and up to 4K video recording using front and rear cameras. The phone has already received the Android 16 update and is set to get two more major OS upgrades, on par with the OnePlus Nord CE 6.

Phones under Rs 40,000

OPPO K13 Turbo Pro

Current price - Rs 31,999 (Flipkart)

Best for - High intensity gaming, smooth software

Remaining software support - 1 OS upgrade (Android 17) with security patches till 2028

Much like the OPPO K13 Turbo (review), the K13 Turbo Pro excels at offering flagship-grade gaming performance. With the iQOO Neo 10 and OnePlus Nord 6 selling above Rs 39,999, the OPPO K13 Turbo is the most affordable Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 smartphone you can grab in the market, making it a no-brainer deal for performance and mobile gaming enthusiasts.

Then comes the built-in cooling fan and a large vapour chamber, a combo completely unheard of in the Rs 40,000 price bracket, which also holds for the K13 Turbo. During our gaming tests, the K13 Turbo Pro delivered 107 FPS, which is closer to the claimed 120 FPS in BGMI, indicating smooth gaming performance. Running ColorOS 16, the software makes great use of the large X-axis haptic motor to deliver a satisfying haptic feedback experience. That said, since it'll receive just one more major Android upgrade, the phone makes sense more for those who value high-end performance over software longevity.

OnePlus Nord 5 - Rs 33,999

Current price - Rs 33,999 (Amazon)

Best for - Top-notch day-to-day experience

Remaining software support - 3 OS upgrades with security patches till 2031

After being out of stock for a while since the release of the OnePlus Nord 6, the Nord 5 (review) is back on Amazon, albeit with a price hike of Rs 2,000 over its launch price. Despite running on an older-generation Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, the Nord 5 should deliver efficient battery life with its 6,800mAh cell. As for the design, the rear panel is not only soothing to touch but also looks gorgeous in the Marble Sands shade.

The Nord 5 is one of the only few phones to run CODM natively at 144 FPS, making it an excellent choice for CODM lovers. As noted in our dedicated gaming review, the handset delivered stable frame rates with best-in-class efficiency when compared to the iQOO Neo 10 and POCO F7. For daily use, OxygenOS 16 (review) offers fluid operations, seamless animations, vast customisability, and an enormous feature set.

Vivo T4 Ultra - Rs 37,999

Current price - Rs 37,999 (Flipkart)

Best for - Photography, portrait shots, macro capabilities

Remaining software support - 1 OS upgrade (Android 17) with security patches till 2028

Even though the Vivo T4 Ultra (review) may not offer as capable hardware as others on this list priced around Rs 40,000, the handset could turn out to be an impressive pick for those who're into heavy photography. Speaking of which, the T4 Ultra is equipped with a 50MP 1/1.56-inch primary camera, a 50MP 1/2-inch square periscope with 3x optical zoom, and an 8MP 120-degree FoV ultrawide lens. Up front, there's a 32MP selfie camera.

As noted in our review, for portraits and macro shots, the periscope lens delivers sharp, detailed images of distant subjects, while its colour science is well-matched with the primary sensor, ensuring visual consistency across shots. If you prefer capturing macro images of flowers, insects, and other small subjects, the square periscope can come in extremely handy thanks to its minimum focus distance of just 15cm, the only phone able to do so in its price class.

On to the downsides, the 5,500mAh battery may not hold up well in the long-term compared to its rivals featuring over 7,000mAh batteries, while the Dimensity 9300+ may not deliver as efficient performance as the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 in games.

Phones under Rs 60,000

Nothing Phone (3)

Current price - Rs 59,999 for 16+512GB (Flipkart)

Best for - Flagship features, standout design

Remaining software support - 4 OS upgrades with security patches till 2032

The Nothing Phone (3) (review) may not have been well-received at its exorbitant launch price of Rs 79,999 last year, but with frequent price cuts and heavy discounts over the last few months, it's one of the best flagship choices out there. During Flipkart sales, the phone often comes under Rs 45,000, making it a great alternative to the Nord 6, powered by the same Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset.

As stated in our long-term review, even though the Phone (3) felt overpriced at launch, it now positions itself as a suitable choice when smartphone prices have risen sharply. When grabbed under Rs 45,000 with offers, the Phone (3) delivers a unique design, excellent build quality, a good display, loud and full speakers, fast performance, clean software with excellent longevity, and a telephoto camera that is now quite rare in this price segment.

OnePlus 13s

Current price - Rs 54,999 (Amazon)

Best for - Compact form factor, flagship performance

Remaining software support - 3 OS upgrades with security patches till 2031

With the Vivo X200 FE currently out of stock on Flipkart and Vivo's online store, the OnePlus 13s (review) is your best bet for a compact flagship experience. Currently selling at its original price of Rs 54,999, the OnePlus 13s often comes below Rs 50,000 during sales. With no OnePlus 15s in sight, the 13s remains one of the most powerful compact Android smartphones out there, courtesy of the Snapdragon 8 Elite.

The 6.3-inch 1.5K AMOLED display of the OnePlus 13s produces lively colours, the latest OxygenOS 16 software update has brought in tons of new features like Live Space, and the 5,850mAh battery typically lasts a day. On the other hand, if camera flexibility is your priority, the OnePlus 13s falls behind since it lacks an ultrawide lens, while the telephoto lens is restricted to just 2x optical zoom, which limits the digital zoom range.

OnePlus 13

Current price - Rs 57,999 (Amazon)

Best for - Premium flagship features

Remaining software support - 3 OS upgrades with security patches till 2031

In mid-2026, the OnePlus 13 (review) remains one of the strongest value propositions in the premium segment. It offers a 2K LTPO AMOLED display, a powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, 50MP triple Hasselblad-tuned rear cameras, 100W fast charging, and one of the smoothest software experiences with OxygenOS 16.

For buyers seeking flagship performance without inflated 2026 pricing, the OnePlus 13 is still an outstanding choice. With three OS upgrades remaining, the smartphone will receive new features and software advancements for years to come. Simply put, the OnePlus 13 can be highly considered by those who don't wish to shell out over Rs 80,000 on the OnePlus 15, and on the other hand, gain much better camera capabilities over the OnePlus 15R.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge

Current price - Rs 59,999 (Flipkart)

Best for - Slim ergonomics, mature and feature-packed software

Remaining software support - 6 OS upgrades with security patches till 2032

Launched at Rs 1,09,999 last year, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge (review) is currently up for grabs for Rs 59,999 on Flipkart, almost half its original price. Measuring just 5.8mm in thickness and weighing only 163g, the Galaxy S25 Edge is one of the most ergonomic, lightweight, and comfortable Android phones to hold. Despite its relatively small 3,900mAh battery, the phone has been optimised to deliver a decent level of battery endurance, since it scored over 10 hours in our PCMark Battery drain test.

With the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor on board, the phone should be able to handle every game out there at high graphics settings, while exhibiting certain heat during continuous gaming sessions due to its slim form factor. Apart from that, if a telephoto lens is something you'd like to use to click images, the Galaxy S25 Edge doesn't provide that.

Phones under Rs 1,00,000

iPhone 17

Current price - Rs 82,900 (Flipkart)

Best for - Anyone seeking a value for money iPhone

Remaining software support - 7 OS upgrades with security patches till 2032 (unconfirmed)

The Apple iPhone 17 (review) remains one of the most value-for-money base iPhones Apple has released in years. With the addition of 120Hz ProMotion, the display is as smooth and premium as its Pro siblings, while the dual 48MP (primary + ultrawide) cameras deliver consistent results across lighting conditions. Up front, the 18MP square selfie camera with centre stage effortlessly fits more people in the frame, while video quality is top-notch from both front and back cameras.

On the other hand, if you're used to capturing long-range zoom shots using a telephoto lens, the iPhone 17 misses out on it. In that case, opting for Android alternatives, such as iQOO 15 or OPPO Find X9s, could be a better choice. That being said, with the powerful A19 chip on board that delivers strong performance numbers, the iPhone 17 is the most well-rounded iPhone for everyday users. With the seven-year-old iPhone 11 confirmed to get iOS 27, rest assured, the iPhone 17 will be supported software-wise for more than half a decade.

OnePlus 15

Current price - Rs 85,999 (Amazon)

Best for - High-end gaming, smooth software

Remaining software support - 4 OS upgrades with security patches till 2031

Despite seeing a massive price hike of Rs 13,000 from its launch price, the OnePlus 15 (review) remains a strong contender as a flagship smartphone that delivers a top-notch gaming experience. With the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 on offer, paired with a 165Hz refresh rate in supported games, the OnePlus 15 continues to impress with excellent thermal management, sustained frame rates, and smooth overall performance.

Running on OxygenOS 16, the OnePlus 15 offers the smoothest software we've experienced so far, thanks to incredibly tuned animations and transitions across the UI. On to the cameras, while the handset sees a downgrade camera setup from the OnePlus 13, the DetailMax Engine photography pipeline assists in delivering crisp and contrasty images. However, phones like the OPPO Find X9 and Vivo X300 may offer better camera performance, thanks to superior hardware and tuning.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra

Current price - Rs 99,999 (Amazon)

Best suitable for - Premium flagship experience, flexible cameras

Remaining software support - 6 OS upgrades with security patches till 2032

The most expensive smartphone on the list, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra (review), coming under Rs 1 lakh, makes it one of the best choices for anyone seeking to experience Samsung's top-of-the-line hardware and software. On one hand, you have the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, powering the device for handling even the most intensive tasks, such as efficiently rendering 4K videos, while on the other hand, One UI 8.5 packs a multitude of productivity and Galaxy AI features.

Given that the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra doesn't see a significant upgrade in cameras and battery, the Galaxy S25 Ultra makes more sense for most buyers who're on the hunt for a premium-level flagship. This is further supported by the fact that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will receive six more OS upgrades in the future.

The listing suggests the device could ship with a 67W charger, marking a noticeable upgrade over the 45W charging offered by the Redmi Note 15 and Redmi Note 15 Pro launched in China last year.

Other leaked specifications point to a flat OLED display with a 1.5K resolution, a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset and a massive 9,000mAh battery. The phone is also expected to feature a 50MP primary rear camera. If these specifications turn out to be accurate, Redmi would be continuing the recent industry trend of pairing mid-range processors with much larger batteries. Several brands, including Honor, OnePlus and Realme, have recently introduced or teased smartphones with battery capacities well beyond the traditional 7,000mAh mark, signalling that battery life is becoming a bigger selling point in the mid-range segments.

Launch timeline

The Redmi Note 17 Pro is expected to launch in China in July, while the remaining Redmi Note 17 series models are tipped to arrive in August. However, Xiaomi hasn't officially confirmed either the launch timeline or the final marketing name of the certified device.

The Redmi Note series has traditionally focused on delivering strong value by combining capable hardware with aggressive pricing. If Redmi manages to retain that strategy while introducing upgrades such as a higher-resolution display, faster charging and a larger battery, the Note 17 Pro could become a strong contender in the mid-range segment. It's worth keeping expectations in check until Xiaomi makes an official announcement. Those planning to upgrade later this year may want to watch the Redmi Note 17 series, especially if battery life is a priority.

Lens shift: How OPPO, Vivo and Xiaomi are moving the zoom game ahead

No flagship phone qualifies for the crown without having "solved" the zoom issue. We've come a long way from the days of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, which was more of a digital camera with a SIM card slot. Periscope lenses, folded lenses, sensor cropping, motorised optics…we've witnessed it all, and yet every new flagship smartphone's keynote uses the camera slides as its zenith moment.

OPPO, Vivo and Xiaomi have all launched their "ultra" models for the year, which by definition are the pinnacle of what each brand's engineering teams are capable of, cost notwithstanding. All three of them make very different bets on how much reach you'll pay for and tolerate fiddling with. The OPPO Find X9 Ultra, Vivo X300 Ultra and Xiaomi 17 Ultra are the clearest proof yet that "best camera phone" has stopped being one race and become three separate arguments about what a phone camera is actually for.

The all-in-one

OPPO's bet is on convenience, and honestly, it is the most practical of the lot. The Find X9 Ultra (review) folds a Quintuple Prism Reflection Periscope (yes, that's the real name) five times inside the chassis to deliver a native 50MP, f/3.5, 10x optical lens, no accessories, no extra kit. OPPO believes that most buyers will never own a second lens or always have it on them, so build the best zoom you can into the body and stop pretending otherwise.
While the theoretical appeal of an external teleconverter kit is obvious due to its promise of DSLR-like reach from a smartphone, the reality is usually less glamorous. You're carrying extra glass, adapter mounts, and constantly losing lens caps.

Instead of relying on bolt-on optics, it builds serious zoom capability directly into the device, pairing a large 200MP main sensor with a substantial 3x telephoto and a genuine long-range periscope lens. The Hasselblad collaboration on the Find X9 Ultra isn't just a filter slapped on top of the image; it's a hardware-level effort with a 9-channel multispectral colour sensor tied directly to the dual 200MP array and that massive 10x optical periscope. What this really means is you completely bypass the artificial-looking, over-sharpened aesthetic that typically ruins long-range smartphone shots.

When you push the zoom past the usual limits, the phone retains genuine micro-contrast and an organic shadow roll-off rather than turning the frame into a crunchy, digitised mess. Backed by arguably the most ambitious optical glass layout on the market right now, the X9 Ultra ceases to feel like a phone with a great camera. It feels like a dedicated, camera-first imaging tool that just happens to make phone calls.

Modular approach

Vivo's bet is the opposite: sell a system, not a phone. The X300 Ultra's (review) native telephoto tops out at a fairly modest 3.5x (an 85mm Zeiss APO prime), but Vivo sells you the rest piece by piece, a 200mm extender, a 400mm extender, even a camera cage with cold-shoe mounts for monitors and mics.

The mount carries over from the X200 Ultra and X300 Pro, meaning Vivo isn't selling a gimmick bolted to one phone; it's selling lens compatibility across generations, the same trick Sony and Fujifilm use to keep buyers inside an ecosystem for a decade. If you already think in focal lengths and don't mind a small camera bag, this is the most honest "phone as camera system" pitch on the market right now.

Aiming for precision

Xiaomi's bet on ignoring the reach and chasing precision is the strangest of the lot. The 17 Ultra's (review) Leica telephoto doesn't jump between fixed focal lengths or crop digitally, it physically moves glass for a continuous 75-100mm zoom, exactly the range that flatters faces without flattening them into a passport photo. No 10x flex, no bolt-on ecosystem. Xiaomi is betting that most people zoom for portraits and street shots, not safaris, and that mechanical precision in a narrow band beats reach in a wide one.

Which is the right philosophy for you?

None of these phones is wrong, which is the uncomfortable part for anyone trying to crown a winner. Oppo suits the buyer who wants the best zoom without ever opening a second box. Vivo suits the one already comfortable spending on glass who wants brand continuity for it. Xiaomi suits the one who shoots people more than landmarks. The spec sheet only tells you who has the bigger number, but the actual decision is based on how far you are willing to go for the perfect shot without actually travelling the distance.
