Vivo raises prices of T5 Pro, T5x and T4 Lite in India by up to Rs 3,000

Vivo has once again revised the prices of several of its smartphones across segments, likely owing to the rising memory costs.

[highlights]

The Vivo T5 Pro's base storage model now costs more than the POCO X8 Pro.

Despite the price hike, the Vivo T5x remains a suitable pick under Rs 30,000

Vivo may further raise the prices in the future.

[/highlights]

Vivo has increased the prices of several smartphones in its T-series lineup in India, with hikes ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000 depending on the model and storage variant. The revised prices affect the Vivo T5 Pro, Vivo T5x and Vivo T4 Lite, making some variants significantly more expensive than their launch prices. Smartphone brands are facing rising component costs and memory prices, prompting companies to revise pricing across their portfolios.

Vivo T5 Pro, T5x, T4 Lite new prices

Vivo T5 Pro

Variant

Launch price

Current price

Latest price

8GB + 128GB

Rs 29,999

Rs 32,999

Rs 35,999

8GB + 256GB

Rs 33,999

Rs 36,999

Rs 39,999

The Vivo T5 Pro's (review) retail price now sits at Rs 35,999, a Rs 6,000 increase since its launch for the base storage variant. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, it goes head-to-head against the POCO X8 Pro, which runs on the much superior Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset, a brighter and punchier AMOLED display, and strong build materials in the form of an aluminium frame.

Since the battery on the POCO X8 Pro is limited to 6,500mAh, the Vivo T5 Pro has an advantage in this department by carrying a larger 9,020mAh cell for higher endurance. So, if battery and OriginOS 6 software are not your highest priority, going for the POCO X8 Pro could be a wiser decision over the T5 Pro for its superior hardware.

Vivo T5x

Variant

Launch price

Current price

Latest price

6GB + 128GB

Rs 18,999

Rs 24,999

Not hiked

8GB + 128GB

Rs 20,999

Rs 26,999

Rs 27,999

8GB + 256GB

Rs 22,999

Rs 28,999

Rs 30,999

While the base 6GB + 128GB variant of Vivo T5x continues to sell for Rs 24,999, the 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB models have received a price hike of Rs 1,000 and Rs 2,000, respectively. These prices now match the OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite, which comes with identical specifications, such as the MediaTek Dimensity 7400, a large FHD+ LCD display, and a massive 7,000mAh battery (7,200mAh on the T5x).

Therefore, for its hiked price, the Vivo T5x can still be considered given that the competition isn't offering significantly better specifications and features.

Vivo T4 Lite

Variant

Launch price

Current price

Latest price

4GB + 64GB

N/A

Rs 14,999

Rs 16,999

4GB + 128GB

Rs 9,999

Rs 16,999

Rs 18,999

6GB + 128GB

Rs 10,999

Rs 18,999

Rs 20,999

8GB + 256GB

Rs 12,999

Rs 20,999

Rs 23,999

The Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 smartphone segment is home to several Dimensity 6300 and Dimensity 6400-powered smartphones, such as the Realme C83 5G, OPPO K14x, and Moto G37. Since the Vivo T4 Lite is also equipped with the Dimensity 6300, users may still go for it for its slim form factor. However, the smartphone was launched over a year ago, resulting in fewer software upgrades.

Therefore, opting for a recently released smartphone makes more sense, such as the Moto G37. While it will only receive the Android 17 update, it will remain supported with security patches for up to three years.

If you've been planning to purchase either of these phones or any smartphone, now is the right time. With no signs of the situation easing, companies are expected to raise prices even further. So, it's wise to act quickly before it's too late and you end up paying a higher price.

Skullcandy Method 360 ANC earbuds with ‘Sound by Bose’ launched in India: price, specifications

[highlights]

The Skullcandy Method 360 ANC earbuds are available with an introductory price of Rs 12,499.

Key specs include Bose-tuned sound, Hybrid ANC, and a customisable Stay-Aware mode.

The earbuds offer up to 40 hours of total battery life and support fast charging.

[/highlights]

Popular audio brand Skullcandy has launched its new Method 360 ANC true wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds in India. The standout feature of the earbuds is "Sound by Bose" - a branding previously seen on products like the Motorola Buds. With the Method 360 ANC, Skullcandy has partnered with audio giant Bose to tune the earbuds' sound profile, promising a premium listening experience. The Skullcandy earphones come with an in-ear design and a charging case, reminiscent of the Nothing ear stick.

Skullcandy Method 360 ANC price in India, availability

The Skullcandy Method 360 ANC is launched at Rs 16,999. However, as part of the launch offer, the earbuds are selling at just Rs 12,499. The earbuds are available for purchase across India through the official website and select retail locations.

It positions the Skullcandy Method 360 ANC in the upper mid-range TWS category, if not premium, making them more affordable than the Samsung Galaxy Buds4, Sony WF-1000 XM5, and more. "Make no mistake – Method 360 ANC belongs in the premium tier," said Amlan Bhattacharjya, Founder & CEO of Brandeyes Distributors Pvt Ltd, the sole India partner for Skullcandy.

Skullcandy Method 360 ANC earbuds specifications

The Skullcandy Method 360 ANC earbuds are available in five colour choices: Black, Bone, Primer, Plasma, and Leopard. The buds are shipped inside an "all-new" slider charging case, which has a built-in O-ring clip to easily mount it in your backpack or jeans hook. This should appeal to GenZ. Furthermore, there is an upgraded tactile finish, and the pair is designed for both entertainment and daily use, boasting several premium features like the 4-mic Hybrid ANC, allowing users to block out ambient noise or utilise a customisable 'Stay-Aware' mode.

The audio is managed by Bose tuning, which is promised to deliver industry-leading performance. Furthermore, the buds feature an ergonomic, ovalized design with multiple fit fins and ear gels, which the company states leverage licensed technology from Bose for a secure fit and superior noise isolation. The Skullcandy Method 360 ANC earphones are IPX4-rated for sweat and water resistance, making them safe for at least gym workouts.

As for the battery life, the buds are claimed to provide up to 40 hours of total playtime (ANC off) and up to 32 hours (ANC on), and there is fast charging support. A quick 10-minute charge adds up to 2 hours of playback.

Other features include Bluetooth v5.3 with LE Audio, Google Fast Pair, and Multipoint Pairing, allowing for seamless transitions between multiple devices. Moving on, the Method 360 is compatible with the Skull-iQ App, enabling users to customise EQ settings, button functions, and ANC modes. The pair also provide Spotify Tap support, "Clear Voice" smart microphones, and "Natural Voice Sidetone" for clearer phone calls to ensure its multipurpose use case.

If you're upgrading from budget TWS, these offer a significant leap in sound and features, but if you own premium earbuds from the last 1-2 years, the upgrade might be marginal unless the Bose tuning is a specific draw.

Netflix may be bringing back free trials for eligible new users: report

Netflix is reportedly testing the return of its free trial for select new users in India, with some accounts seeing 15-day or 30-day offers during sign-up.

[highlights]

Netflix is reportedly testing the return of its free trial for select new users.

Eligible accounts may see either a 30-day or 15-day trial during sign-up, depending on account, device and location.

Netflix may be using the move to boost sign-ups and test which promotional offer works best.

[/highlights]

Netflix is quietly testing the return of its free trial for select new users, with eligible accounts in India reportedly seeing offers such as "Try 30 days for Rs 0" and 15-day trials during sign-up. The rollout appears limited as of now, and the offer seems to depend on the user's account, device and location. Here's how it works.

How to check if you're eligible for a free trial

According to a report by WhatsonNetflix, Netflix has confirmed that the trial appears automatically during sign-up only for eligible users. If the offer does not show up, that means the account is not currently eligible for the promotion.

Some reports suggest Netflix is showing different trial lengths to different users, including 30 days and 14/15 days. That points to A/B testing, where the company tries different offers to see which one works best. A reddit user based in India also shared a screenshot on the platform which confirms the same.
[caption id="attachment_707842" align="aligncenter" width="2560"] Credits: u/TataHitachi on reddit[/caption]
You can check if you're eligibile by creating a new Netflix account with an email address that has not been used before. During registration, look for a banner offering a 30-day or 15-day free trial. For context, I tried making a new account and was not offered a free trial, meaning I'm not eligible for the same.

If the offer appears for you, choose your plan, add a valid payment method and complete sign-up. Streaming starts immediately if the free trial is applied to your account, and there is no separate code or invite process.

Do remember that Netflix turns on AutoPay by default, so the chosen plan will renew automatically once the trial ends. Users will be charged unless they cancel before the trial period expires. That makes the offer useful for trying the service, but it is not fully risk-free unless users remember to cancel on time.

Why is Netflix doing it?

Netflix may be bringing back free trials to win over new users in an increasingly crowded streaming market. A limited trial can lower the barrier to entry and give potential subscribers a chance to test the service before paying.

It may also help Netflix gauge which promotional offer works better, especially if it is comparing 15-day and 30-day trials through A/B testing. After dropping free trials globally around 2020, Netflix may now see this as a useful way to boost user acquisition without committing to a full permanent rollout.

Xiaomi 18 Pro's key specifications tipped: to feature dual 200MP cameras, 2nm flagship chipset and more

A new leak details the key specifications of the upcoming Xiaomi 18 Pro, which could be powered by the Qualcomm's upcoming flagship Snapdragon chipset.

[highlights]

The Xiaomi 18 Pro could be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series.

The phone is said to sport a 6.4-inch compact OLED display.

The 200MP periscope lens is likely to gain macro capabilities.

[/highlights]

The Xiaomi 18 series is expected to be among the first smartphones to feature Qualcomm's next flagship chipset, which is rumoured to arrive in two variants: the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. With the chipsets expected to debut during the Snapdragon Summit on September 22nd, the Xiaomi 18 series could be released in China right after. Now, a new tip by the Chinese leakster, Digital Chat Station (DCS), gives us a glimpse of the specifications and upgrades the Xiaomi 18 Pro may carry.

Coming as the successor to the Xiaomi 17 Pro, which made massive waves for its secondary rear display, the 18 Pro could fetch an even higher price tag given the market's memory shortage situation.

Xiaomi 18 Pro could turn out to be a spec-heavy phone

While DCS's post doesn't specify which smartphone is being referred to, the mention of a "small straight screen" and a 200MP periscope lens strongly suggests it is the Xiaomi 18 Pro. The other compact flagship in this category, the Vivo X500, is expected to feature a 64MP periscope instead.

Coming to the specifications, the Xiaomi 18 Pro could be powered by either of the processors in the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series, both of which are expected to be based on a 2nm fabrication process, which could ideally result in significantly improved efficiency over the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

If the Xiaomi 17 Pro series' bezels weren't slim enough, the Xiaomi 18 Pro could feature even thinner symmetrical bezels and generously rounded corners, which should enhance the in-hand feel and comfort of holding the device for long hours. Earlier leaks have suggested that the OLED panel could measure 6.4-inches and may also be equipped with a Privacy Display-like feature, much like the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.

The cameras could see a major improvement, as DCS reports that the Xiaomi 18 Pro will reportedly feature a triple-camera setup comprising a 200MP primary camera, a 200MP periscope with macro capabilities, and an ultrawide lens for capturing wide-angle shots. For reference, the Xiaomi 17 Pro featured triple 50MP cameras on the rear. With new 200MP sensors on board, the 18 Pro is likely to output sharper photos with better dynamic range.

Additionally, the device is expected to feature a massive 7,000mAh-class battery with support for 100W wired and wireless charging. Other rumoured upgrades include enhanced dual stereo speakers, a more powerful haptic motor, and several other internal refinements.

How will Xiaomi position the Xiaomi 18 Pro?

The Xiaomi 18 Pro is shaping up to be a significant leap forward, especially for users who want flagship performance in a relatively compact form factor. However, just like the Xiaomi 17 Pro series, the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max could face the same fate by not coming to global markets, and are likely to remain China-only devices.

That being said, the Xiaomi 18 Pro looks like a well-rounded successor that will feature bleeding-edge performance, high-grade camera optics, tuned in partnership with LEICA, and an exquisite compact design. For those seeking a high-end small phone and are ready to spend a fortune, the Xiaomi 18 Pro could be worth waiting for, alongside the Vivo X500.

Meta’s Muse AI image generator can use your Instagram photos by default: here’s how to opt out

[highlights]

Meta's Muse AI image generator is receiving flak for privacy issues.

Anyone can use public photos on Instagram to create images with Meta AI.

This feature has to be manually disabled.

[/highlights]

Meta recently expanded its AI capabilities with the launch of Muse Image, its new image-generation model. Like other generative AI tools, Muse Image can create images from text prompts, reimagine existing photos, and edit images. What sets it apart, however, is its integration with Instagram, where users can generate customised images by simply mentioning an account. The feature has sparked concerns among Instagram users because it is enabled by default, meaning public content can be used for these AI-powered experiences unless users choose to opt out.

This feature is available only in the US, or now. As part of the rollout, public Instagram content can now be reused to create customised AI-generated images unless users manually opt out.

The alarming part here is the ability to @mention Instagram accounts while generating images with Meta AI. When a public account is tagged, Meta AI can reference publicly available photos from that profile to generate customised images featuring that person. Since this setting is turned on by default, anyone can use public posts or reels with Meta AI.

How to opt out

Users who do not want their public content to be used for these AI features can disable it by heading to Instagram Settings and turning off the option that says "Allow people to reuse your content on Instagram and with AI features at Meta." This feature should be visible only to Instagram users in the US, as it's available there for now.

Previously, this setting only governed how other Instagram users could reuse public posts and Reels for features such as Remixes, templates, stickers, or downloading content as part of their own posts and Reels. Meta has now expanded it to include AI-powered experiences, effectively combining content reuse permissions with its generative AI features.

While switching the option off prevents Meta AI from using a user's public content in these new image-generation tools, it also disables the existing reuse features. For creators and influencers who rely on Remixes and other collaborative formats to increase visibility and reach, opting out could reduce opportunities for their content to spread organically across Instagram.

Meta plans to expand the feature to more countries over time, meaning it could soon reach a much wider audience. How the company balances user awareness and consent while ensuring creators can continue to grow their reach remains to be seen. Until Meta offers greater clarity or introduces more granular controls, opting out may be the safer choice for users who are uncomfortable with their public content being used for AI-generated images.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 teaser reveals first glimpse at wider design ahead of July 22nd launch

We have our first glimpse at the "wide" Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 through a new teaser shared by the company. Check it out here.

[highlights]

Samsung's latest teaser officially reveals a part of the Galaxy Z Fold 8's wider design ahead of its July 22nd launch.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is confirmed to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.

The standard Fold 8 is tipped to focus on a wider form factor, while the Ultra is expected to deliver flagship-grade camera upgrades.

[/highlights]

Samsung has offered the first official glimpse of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8, giving fans a brief look at the device's new wider design through a teaser released on X, before the phone launches at Unpacked on July 22nd. While the company has previously hinted at the foldable's refreshed form factor using everyday objects, the latest teaser goes a step further by briefly showing part of the device itself.

The phone has been teased via Spiderman, with the caricature tweeted by Samsung showing the superhero grabbing the phone with his net. Samsung has a promotional tie-up with the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day film, and hence the teaser features the Marvel superhero ahead of the movie's release.

The image reveals a thin profile, two rear cameras, and repositioned physical buttons. Unlike the Galaxy Z Fold 7, where the buttons sat closer to the middle of the frame, the Fold 8 appears to move them higher up, likely due to its redesigned proportions.

Separately, Samsung has also confirmed on Weibo that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, the same processor used in the Galaxy S26 series. The confirmation, shared via Weibo, puts to rest speculation that Samsung could switch to Exynos chips in some regions for its flagship foldables.

Dual-model lineup overview

Leaks suggest Samsung will introduce two book-style foldables this year: the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the higher-end Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 8. The standard Fold 8 will reportedly debut Samsung's new wider design, while the Ultra will retain the taller, narrower form factor familiar to existing Fold users.

The differentiation is expected to extend beyond design. According to tipster Lanzuk, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra could borrow camera technology from the Galaxy S26 Ultra, including a 200MP primary camera, improved image processing, and better low-light performance. Meanwhile, the more affordable Galaxy Z Fold 8 is tipped to feature two rear cameras, led by a 50MP primary sensor, making camera capabilities one of the biggest differences between the two models.

Leaked key specifications

According to recent reports, the wide Galaxy Z Fold 8 could weigh just 201 gms and measure 4.5 mm when unfolded and 9.7 mm when folded, making it one of Samsung's lightest and slimmest book-style foldables to date. The device is expected to feature a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X inner display with a boxier 4:3 aspect ratio and a wider 5.5-inch outer display with a 16:10 aspect ratio.

The wider cover display could make the Fold 8 more practical for everyday use, addressing a long-standing criticism of Samsung's Fold series. It would give Samsung a first-mover advantage in a market where companies including Apple are coming out with wide foldables this year. At the same time, introducing separate standard and Ultra Fold models would give buyers more choice based on whether they prioritise ergonomics or flagship camera hardware, rather than forcing a single design philosophy across the lineup.

Redmi Note 17 allegedly spotted on Geekbench, scores hint at Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset

Xiaomi has started teasing the Redmi Note 17 series ahead of its July 14 China launch, revealing a new design and signs of a battery-focused update.

[highlights]

The Redmi Note 17 has allegedly appeared on Geekbench.

Xiaomi has started teasing the series on Weibo and opened pre-bookings ahead of launch.

The Redmi Note 17 series is set to launch in China on 14 July.

[/highlights]

Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the Redmi Note 17 series in China on 14 July, and based on a report by GizmoChina, the regular Note 17 may not bring a major performance jump over its predecessor. The series is already being teased on Weibo, where Xiaomi has opened appointment registrations and begun building launch buzz ahead of the debut. Let's look at it in more detail below.

Redmi Note 17 performance capabilities revealed

A report by GizmoChina shares that an alleged Redmi Note 17 with the Xiaomi 2607DRA18C model number has appeared on Geekbench with a 4+4 CPU core layout and clock speeds of 1.8GHz and 2.4GHz, which points to a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset. An earlier leak also points towards the same chipset, which adds more merit to this conjecture.

The benchmark scores also suggest that the phone could handle everyday use and light gaming comfortably, but it should not be seen as a big leap over the Redmi Note 15. While the Geekbench listing does not confirm the model name, the hardware points more towards the standard Redmi Note 17 than the Pro model.

Based on earlier reports, Xiaomi seems to be taking a more balanced approach with the Note 17, while leaving the beefier specs for the higher variant.

What we know so far

Xiaomi has already shown the Redmi Note 17 series design, and the new phones move to a cleaner, more minimal look with vertically aligned camera modules. The camera island has shifted to the left, and the series now seems to use a more compact rear layout than the Redmi Note 15 family.

The Redmi Note 17 series will launch in China on 14 July at 7 pm CST, which is 4:30 pm IST. Xiaomi is also building early interest through a Weibo post that opens appointments for the Note 17 series on major e-commerce platforms.

Xiaomi has not confirmed global timing yet, but the Redmi Note 17 has already appeared on the BIS database, which points to an India launch later.

So far, the leaks and teasers suggest the Redmi Note 17 series will focus more on battery life, durability and design than on performance upgrades, which should appeal to buyers looking for an all-rounder device. The mid-range smartphone market has increasingly focused on battery capacity in recent months, with brands like Honor, OnePlus, OPPO, Realme and Motorola making 7,000mAh the bare minimum and going up to 11,000mAh.

With the Redmi Note 17 Pro's 9,000mAh battery confirmed, it could make the series worth waiting for for users who prioritise endurance or upgrading from a much older phone.

The iQOO Z11 Lite is set to launch in India soon and ti could come in these colour options. Here are the details.

[highlights]

iQOO has confirmed that the Z11 Lite will launch in India on July 24th in Midnight Blue and Solar Flame colour options.

The smartphone will feature AI tools such as AI Captions and AI Creation, along with a Dynamic Light notification ring.

The smartphone will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset.

[/highlights]

Earlier today, iQOO confirmed that the iQOO Z11 Lite will launch in India on July 24th, making it the latest addition to the Z11 series. The company has further revealed the phone's colour options, processor, and several AI-powered features through an Amazon microsite that is already live in the build-up to the launch.

iQOO Z11 Lite key specifications and expected features

The iQOO Z11 Lite will be available in Midnight Blue and Solar Flame colour options. Under the hood, it is confirmed to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, with iQOO claiming an AnTuTu score of over 5,79,000. The chipset is already used in several 5G smartphones ranging from affordable to mid-range ones, making it suitable for everyday tasks such as social media, streaming, multitasking, and casual gaming.

One of the phone's standout additions is Dynamic Light, a multi-colour LED ring on the rear panel that lights up for calls and notifications. These features bring software capabilities that are gradually becoming common across smartphones in this segment.

Based on previous leaks, the iQOO Z11 Lite is expected to feature UFS 2.2 storage, a 6,500mAh battery, 44W fast charging, a 50MP primary camera, a 6.74-inch HD+ LCD display with up to 1,200 nits peak brightness, and an IP65 rating. While these specifications remain unofficial, they suggest the phone will prioritise battery life over flagship-level performance. as most OEMs are doing these days as memory and performance components make the phone more expensive.

Market positioning and hierarchy

The iQOO Z11 Lite is expected to become the most affordable member of the Z11 series, sitting below the iQOO Z11x, which currently starts at Rs 22,999 after recent price revisions. It is also likely to target buyers looking for a budget 5G smartphone, particularly students and first-time upgraders, which aligns with iQOO's teaser campaign.

Meanwhile, a standard iQOO Z11 is also expected, which will sit higher in the lineup with rumoured features such as a Dimensity 7500 chipset, UFS 3.1 storage, a flat OLED display, and an 8,000mAh to 9,000mAh battery. Depending on its pricing, it could compete with devices such as the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion and other smartphones in the Rs 25,000 price range.

Globally, iQOO has already launched different versions of the Z11 with region-specific hardware, suggesting the Indian model is being tailored to local pricing and competition. Buyers looking for an affordable 5G phone with a large battery and useful AI features may find the Z11 Lite worth waiting for, although the final verdict will depend on its pricing and complete specifications at launch.

GIGABYTE launches GAMING Series PSUs with T-Guard connector monitoring, Cybenetics Platinum certification, and 10-year warranty

Gigabyte unveils its new Gaming Series PSUs up to 1000W, featuring T-Guard active cooling protection to stop RTX 5090 cable melting issues

GIGABYTE has unveiled its new GAMING Series power supply units. The brand says it is designed for safety in high-performance systems using next-generation GPUs. The series offers 750W, 850W, and 1000W capacities in Black and Ice editions. It introduces T-Guard, an active thermal monitoring system, which addresses a major safety concern in modern PC building.

T-Guard: active connector monitoring

The 12V-2x6 connector, used to power current high-end GPUs like the RTX 5090, has faced scrutiny due to reports of damage to the connector on previous hardware. Most PSUs handle this passively. If something goes wrong, the system either crashes or, in severe cases, the connector melts. GIGABYTE's T-Guard takes a different approach.

Precision thermistors inside the 12V-2x6 connector monitor temperatures in real time. GIGABYTE says if the system detects overheating due to a loose cable or abnormal load, it triggers an alert and intelligently reduces power to the GPU while keeping the rest of the system operational. This should give users time to save their work and switch to integrated graphics for display access. Meanwhile, it shuts down safely before any damage occurs. GIGABYTE refers to this as a triple layer of protection:

real-time detection

smart safety measures

data recovery.

This innovative feature is particularly useful for builders using power-hungry GPUs at the top of the RTX 50 Series.

Efficiency and acoustics

The GAMING Series has dual Cybenetics certifications: ETA Platinum for efficiency and LAMBDA A+ for noise levels. The ETA Platinum rating, along with 80 PLUS Gold status, indicates high energy efficiency and less wasted heat. The LAMBDA A+ certification shows an average noise level below 20 dB(A), making it almost silent under typical conditions.

Furthermore, a 135mm Fluid Dynamic Bearing fan provides active cooling. The HybridCool technology turns off the fan completely during low loads. This means the PSU operates silently for light tasks and only turns on when necessary.

Build quality and standards compliance

The GAMING Series uses 100% Japanese capacitors and complies fully with ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards. This should ensure compatibility with current and future GPU generations. The dual-colour cable design on the 12V-2x6 connector helps prevent connection errors, allowing builders to quickly check for a secure connection. The series comes with a 10-year warranty.

For more details and specifications, please visit the official product page:

GIGABYTE GAMING 1000GM PG5

GIGABYTE GAMING 1000GM PG5 ICE

GIGABYTE GAMING 850GM PG5

GIGABYTE GAMING 850GM PG5 ICE

GIGABYTE GAMING 750GM PG5

GIGABYTE GAMING 750GM PG5 ICE

The PSU market in the 750W to 1000W range is competitive, with strong alternatives from Seasonic, Corsair, and be quiet!, all offering Platinum-rated units with similar noise levels. What should make the GIGABYTE GAMING Series stand out is the T-Guard connector monitoring system. No other PSU currently includes it as a standard feature. For builders using an RTX 5090 or planning a high-wattage system, T-Guard offers protection that passive designs cannot match.

The dual Cybenetics certification also distinguishes it from most competitors, which typically have only 80 PLUS ratings. Cybenetics testing occurs under a wider range of load conditions and is seen as a more thorough standard. This gives buyers more confidence in the actual efficiency and noise performance.

For most mid-range gaming setups, the 750W version will comfortably support configurations with RTX 5070 Ti and lower. The 850W is a safer choice for RTX 5080 builds with demanding CPUs, while the 1000W is suitable for RTX 5090 systems or anyone planning to overclock significantly. The T-Guard technology makes the GAMING Series especially appealing for those using high-end GPUs where connector reliability is crucial. The 10-year warranty eliminates long-term ownership concerns. Pricing for the Indian market has not been confirmed as of now.

Samsung Galaxy M67 makes an appearance on Geekbench; could feature Exynos 2200 processor and Android 17

The Samsung Galaxy M67 has been spotted on Geekbench with Exynos 2200 processor, 8GB RAM, and Android 17.

[highlights]

The Samsung Galaxy M67 could boot on Android 17 out of the box.

The device is likely to be positioned higher than the Galaxy M47.

The Samsung Galaxy M67 could debut in a few weeks.

[/highlights]

Days after the release of the Samsung Galaxy M47 in India, a Geekbench listing has hinted at the existence of a new Galaxy M series smartphone, which could be called 'Galaxy M67'. Expected to run on Samsung's own Exynos chipset, the listing has revealed the device's key specifications, benchmark numbers, and model number, giving us an idea of where it would be positioned when and if it launches.

Samsung Galaxy M67 details emerge on Geekbench

A Samsung device with the model number SM-M676K has made its appearance on Geekbench. The number suggests that Samsung is currently testing the Galaxy M67 behind the scenes, and its launch shouldn't be far off now. Furthermore, technology account @yabhishekhd on X states that the 'K' suffix in the model number indicates that the listed device is the Korean variant of the Galaxy M67.

As is the case with every unreleased device that emerges on Geekbench, the Samsung handset has undergone single-core and multi-core tests, in which it scored 1,435 and 3,744, respectively. These scores are on par with the Exynos 1680 running on the Galaxy A57.

Moving on to the key specifications, the device is equipped with Samsung's octa-core S5E9925 SoC, clocked between 1.82GHz and 2.80GHz. This directly points to the 4nm Exynos 2200 processor under the hood. The chipset is paired with 8GB of RAM, while the device runs on Android 17, per the listing.

The Exynos 2200 is a capable chip, and its inclusion here suggests Samsung is aiming for a performance-oriented mid-ranger, while possibly giving an all-rounded experience. As is the case with most Samsung releases, the device could fetch six years of OS and security updates, which has been the major highlight of Samsung devices as of late. This is also the key differentiator for Samsung phones, as users can stay up to date with the latest features and security measures.

When can we expect the Samsung Galaxy M67 to launch

Considering that Samsung is yet to officially roll out the Android 17 update for its top-of-the-line flagships, such as the Galaxy S26 series, Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7, the Galaxy M67 may only land in the markets once the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 series has debuted. This is because it's highly unlikely that Samsung will release a midrange device with a fresh Android version before its next-gen ultra-premium foldable. The Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Z Flip 8 are expected to be announced at Samsung's Unpacked event on July 22nd.

Considering the processor likely onboard, the device appears to be powered by the Exynos 2200, a flagship chipset that previously powered the Galaxy S22 series. This suggests the handset will be positioned significantly higher than the Galaxy M47 and could comfortably cross the Rs 30,000 price mark. However, since the M-series is Samsung's online-exclusive lineup, the company may still price it aggressively.

Provided that it's priced above Rs 30,000, the Galaxy M67 is likely to compete with the OnePlus Nord CE 6, Vivo T5 Pro, and the POCO X8 Pro, all of which carry large batteries, bright AMOLED displays, and strong durability with high IP ratings.

Google Pixel Watch 5 pricing, colour options leak ahead of August launch

The Google Pixel Watch 5's expected price and colour options have leaked, giving us an idea of what to expect from the new wearable.

[highlights]

Google Pixel Watch 5 is tipped to launch on August 12th in 41 mm and 45 mm sizes with Wi-Fi and LTE variants.

The smartwatch could start at EUR 419, marking the first series-wide price increase for the Pixel Watch lineup.

The Pixel Watch 5 will be available in up to four case colours, with LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and UWB connectivity.

[/highlights]

Google is expected to unveil the Pixel Watch 5 alongside the Pixel 11 series at its Made by Google event on August 12th, and a fresh leak has now revealed the smartwatch's expected pricing, sizes, and colour options. If the report is correct, the Pixel Watch 5 could become the company's most expensive smartwatch yet, marking the first series-wide price hike since the original Pixel Watch debuted in 2022. The upcoming wearable is expected to retain the familiar design while introducing new finishes and potentially upgraded internals.

Launch timeline and pricing

The Watch is set to debut at the Made by Google event reportedly on August 12th. According to a report by Dealabs and tipster Billbil-kun, the Pixel Watch 5 will be available in 41 mm and 45 mm sizes, with both Wi-Fi and LTE variants. The 41mm Wi-Fi model is tipped to start at EUR 419 (USD 399 or Rs 45,600), while the LTE version could cost EUR 519 (USD 499 or Rs 56,500). Meanwhile, the larger 45 mm model is expected to start at EUR 449 (USD 429 or Rs 48,900) for the Wi-Fi variant, with the LTE model reportedly priced at EUR 549 (USD 529 or Rs 57,600).

If these prices are accurate, the entire lineup would see a EUR 20 increase over the Pixel Watch 4 in Europe, representing the first across-the-board price increase for Google's smartwatch lineup. While Google hasn't confirmed the reason, higher component costs and newer wearable chipsets could be contributing factors.

For context, the Pixel Watch 4 launched in India in August 2025, starting at Rs 39,900 for the 41 mm model and Rs 43,900 for the 45 mm variant. Google is yet to announce whether the Pixel Watch 5 will launch in India.

Leaked specifications and features

Recent certification listings suggest the Pixel Watch 5 will support LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and ultra-wideband (UWB) connectivity, similar to its predecessor. Although Google has yet to confirm the hardware, the smartwatch is widely expected to feature Qualcomm's next-generation Snapdragon Wear Elite chipset. So far, however, there have been no credible leaks pointing to major design or hardware upgrades beyond the processor.

Support for ultra-wideband (UWB) could enable more precise device tracking and improve features like finding compatible Pixel devices, while the rumoured Snapdragon Wear Elite chipset may deliver smoother app performance, faster AI-powered experiences, and better battery efficiency. These upgrades could appeal to Pixel smartphone users and early adopters looking for tighter ecosystem integration, even if the watch's design remains largely unchanged. However, the reported price hike may make budget-conscious buyers think twice, especially if Google doesn't introduce major visible hardware upgrades.

Interestingly, what appears to be a Pixel Watch 5 prototype was recently discovered underwater near the Caribbean island of St. Martin. Photos shared online showed the watch still displaying the correct time in low-power mode despite reportedly being recovered from the ocean, while also revealing a design nearly identical to the current Pixel Watch generation.

Colours and finishes

The Pixel Watch 5 is expected to be available in four case finishes for the 41 mm model: Dark Anthracite, Natural Silver, Pyrite, and Warm Gold. The Dark Anthracite and Pyrite variants are said to feature satin finishes, while the Natural Silver and Warm Gold options will reportedly use polished metal.

The larger 45 mm model is tipped to arrive in Dark Anthracite, Natural Silver, and Pyrite. While the overall number of colour options may be slightly lower than the Pixel Watch 4, the new Pyrite finish is expected to become the signature colour across both sizes. Buyers looking for a Wear OS smartwatch may want to wait until Google's August 12th launch, especially since the rumoured price increase will likely make the Pixel Watch 5 compete more directly with premium offerings from Samsung and Apple.

OPPO Reno 16, Reno 16c goes on sale in India: should you buy?

[highlights]

The Reno 16 starts at Rs 61,999 in India.

The Reno 16c price in India starts at Rs 46,999.

The OPPO Bubble is also available to purchase.

[/highlights]

The OPPO Reno 16 and Reno 16c are now available to purchase in India. These are the newest premium mid-range phones as part of OPPO's popular Reno lineup. The Reno 16 is the more expensive model here, boasting a 50MP quad-camera setup, a 6,700mAh battery, and a compact 6.32-inch display. The Reno 16c (review) is the affordable alternative, still offering a telephoto lens. Along with the smartphones, the OPPO Bubble is also going on sale today.

OPPO Reno 16 series India sale details

The OPPO Reno 16 (review) series and the Bubble are available to purchase in India via Amazon, Flipkart, the OPPO E-store, and leading retail outlets. OPPO is offering the Reno 16 series with up to 10 percent cashback on select credit cards or UPI transactions, along with zero-payment schemes for up to 18 months. The launch also includes an Rs 5,000 trade-in exchange bonus and 180 days of free screen damage protection. Additionally, buyers receive 50 percent off the OPPO Enco Buds3 Pro+. Those bundling the smartphone with the OPPO Bubble can opt for either a 10 percent instant cashback or an 18-month zero-down payment plan.

Here are the prices of the OPPO Reno 16 series and Bubble:

Variant

OPPO Reno 16 price

OPPO Reno 16c price

8GB + 128GB

NA

Rs 46,999

8GB + 256GB

Rs 61,999

Rs 49,999

12GB + 256GB

Rs 67,999

Rs 55,999

OPPO Bubble

Rs 7,999

OPPO Reno 16: what's on offer?

With the OPPO Reno 16, you get a 6.32-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 3,600 nits of peak brightness. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset powers it and packs a large 6,700mAh battery with 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging support. The handset has a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 50MP telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom. Up front is a 50MP camera for selfies.

The Reno 16 offers a well-rounded package for a premium mid-range phone. It features a premium and compact design, strong cameras that maintain natural colours and detail, and reliable battery life. You also get a customisable software with AI features and long-term software support (5+6). OPPO's Reno lineup has primarily focused on offering a stylish and premium design with versatile cameras.

If performance is a priority, alternatives like the Vivo X200T and Motorola Signature are better options, and phones like the OnePlus 15R and iQOO 15R offer larger batteries. As for those who own a Reno 14, the camera and battery upgrades might justify the jump, but Reno 15 users might consider waiting for the Reno 17.

OPPO Reno 16c: should you buy?

The Reno 16c shares several similarities with the Reno 16. Its key difference is the screen size, which is a bigger 6.57-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh and 1,400 nits of peak brightness. The chipset is also different as the Reno 16c is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset. It, however, has a slightly larger 7,000mAh battery with 80W SUPERVOOC charging support.

Starting at Rs 46,999, the OPPO Reno16c nails daily essentials with a stylish build, solid battery life, smooth ColorOS, and a rare telephoto lens. However, it faces stiff competition from the more balanced Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ and the performance-focused Nothing Phone 4a Pro, making it a specialised choice rather than a versatile all-rounder. If premium design, a telephoto lens, and customisable software are your priorities, then the Reno 16c is recommended.

The OPPO Bubble is a camera accessory that works as a viewfinder for the rear cameras. You can stick it on the back of the phone or use it as a bag charm. It has a 1.73-inch AMOLED circular screen with camera control and features like setting custom wallpapers. The OPPO Bubble's advantage is that you can use it to easily control and use the rear cameras for selfies, and it also doubles as a cute accessory. The OPPO Bubble also works with phones from other brands, which gives OPPO an advantage, at least as far as the accessory ecosystem is concerned.

Redmi Note 17 Pro confirmed to pack 9,000mAh battery, 3,500 nits display

The Redmi Note 17 Pro is confirmed to feature one of the larger batteries found on smartphones these days. Here are the details.

Alongside the battery upgrade, the company has also confirmed a flagship-grade flat display, a four-year battery replacement policy, and additional durability features.

Key confirmed and expected specifications

Redmi has confirmed that the Note 17 Pro will pack a 9,000mAh battery with 67W wired fast charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging. For context, the OnePlus Nord 6 also features a similarly sized battery, as the advent of Si-C tech pushes capacities up north across the industry, To back its battery claims, Xiaomi is also introducing a battery health programme. If the battery's maximum capacity falls below 80 percent within four years of purchase, users will be eligible for a free battery replacement. The company says buyers who experience the same issue in the fifth year will instead receive a free upgrade to a higher-capacity battery. A 9,000mAh battery, combined with a long-term battery replacement programme, could appeal to users who prioritise endurance over slim designs or ultra-fast charging.

On the display front, the Redmi Note 17 Pro will feature a 1.5K flat OLED panel with a peak brightness of 3,500 nits, making it one of the brightest displays in the segment on paper. Xiaomi says the screen also supports its Green Mountain Eye Protection technology and can reduce brightness to as low as 1 nit for more comfortable viewing in dark environments.

The company has also confirmed Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, claims 3-metre marble drop resistance, dual five-star SGS and CQC durability certifications, and IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ingress protection ratings. Longevity seems to be a key focus for this generation of the Redmi Note series, as the company recently released a teaser showcasing the phone's ruggedness.

While Xiaomi is yet to reveal the processor and cameras officially, leaks suggest the Redmi Note 17 Pro could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset and feature a 200MP primary rear camera.

Global and India availability

The Redmi Note 17 series will debut in China on July 14th at 7 pm CST (4.30 pm IST). The lineup is expected to include the standard Redmi Note 17 and the Redmi Note 17 Pro, while rumours also point to a Pro Max variant.

Although Xiaomi hasn't announced global launch plans yet, the Redmi Note 17 has already been spotted on the BIS certification website, suggesting an India launch could follow in the coming weeks. For buyers considering a mid-range smartphone upgrade, especially those looking for exceptional battery life, it may be worth waiting for Xiaomi to officially reveal pricing and complete specifications before making a purchase.

Forget iPhone 17 Pro, BSNL just launched this phone for Rs 1.3 lakh

BSNL has launched a new phone at the same price as the iPhone 17 Pro. Here's how (dis)similar both the phones are.

[highlights]

BSNL has launched a Satellite Phone in India for Rs 1,34,166.

The iPhone 17 Pro starts at Rs 1,34,900 in India.

Satellite phone ownership in India is heavily regulated.

[/highlights]

At around Rs 1.35 lakh, you'd normally expect a phone that can shoot cinematic videos, edit photos with AI, translate conversations in real time, and remind you to drink water. This one has a far more ambitious goal - making sure you can simply make a phone call from places where there isn't a mobile tower for miles. No, we're not talking about a rugged smartphone. The device in question is BSNL's newly launched Satellite Phone, priced at Rs 1,34,166, just a few hundred rupees less than Apple's iPhone 17 Pro. The similarity ends with the price tag.

BSNL launches satellite phone

Unlike conventional smartphones that rely on cellular towers, the BSNL Satellite Phone connects through satellite networks, allowing users to make voice calls even in areas with little or no mobile coverage. According to BSNL, the device is designed for sectors where uninterrupted communication is critical, including defence, maritime operations, disaster response, mining, remote operations, and adventure travel.

Can you buy a satellite phone for personal use in India?

Yes, but not quite like buying a regular smartphone. Unlike an iPhone or an Android phone that can be ordered online in a few clicks, satellite phones in India are heavily regulated. BSNL has been offering Global Satellite Phone Service (GSPS) to both the general public and enterprises since 2018, but subscribers must complete the prescribed customer verification process and disclose details such as the intended place, period, and purpose of use as per Department of Telecommunications (DoT) guidelines. This also explains why BSNL's announcement directs interested buyers to contact the company or visit a BSNL office instead of offering the phone through a typical online retail channel.

While the price inevitably puts it alongside premium flagship smartphones, the BSNL Satellite Phone serves an entirely different purpose. It's a specialised communication device for users who work or travel in locations where even 4G and 5G networks can't be relied upon. Dedicated satellite phones have long been used by organisations operating in remote environments, while newer flagship smartphones have introduced limited satellite messaging features in select markets (not including India). BSNL's offering, however, is aimed at users who need dependable satellite-based voice communication rather than emergency messaging alone.

For most users, spending over Rs 1.3 lakh on a phone that isn't a smartphone replacement would be difficult to justify. However, if your work regularly takes you beyond the reach of conventional mobile networks, the ability to stay connected could outweigh features like flagship cameras, AI tools, or the latest processor.

The Moto G77 Power has launched in India in the same price range as the OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite. So which one suits your needs better? We find out.

Motorola has launched the Moto G77 Power in India to compete with smartphones like the OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite around the Rs 25,000 mark. While both smartphones feature large 7,000mAh batteries and Full HD+ LCD displays, they take different approaches when it comes to performance, cameras, software, charging, and overall value. So, should you buy the Moto G77 Power or the OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite? Let's find out in this specifications-based comparison.

Before diving into the comparison, here's a quick look at the specifications of both smartphones.

Spec

Moto G77 Power

OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite

Display

6.72-inch FHD+ LCD, 120Hz

6.72-inch FHD+ LCD, 144Hz

Processor

MediaTek Dimensity 6400

MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Apex

RAM and storage

8GB LPDDR4X RAM, 128GB storage UFS 2.2 storage

Up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage

Rear cameras

50MP + 8MP ultrawide

50MP + 2MP depth

Selfie camera

32MP

8MP

Battery

7,000mAh

7,000mAh

Charging

30W TurboPower

45W SUPERVOOC

Software

Hello UI
1+3 years

OxygenOS 16
2+4 years

Durability

IP64, MIL-STD-810H

IP64, MIL-STD-810H

Moto G77 Power vs OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite: price

The Moto G77 Power is priced at Rs 25,999 for its sole 8GB + 128GB variant. However, buyers can avail of a Rs 2,000 instant discount using eligible Axis Bank and HDFC Bank credit cards, bringing the effective launch price down to Rs 23,999. The OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite currently starts at Rs 24,999 for the 6GB + 128GB variant.

Moto G77 Power

OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite

6GB + 128GB

NA

Rs 25,999

8GB + 128GB

Rs 25,999

Rs 27,999

8GB + 256GB

NA

Rs 30,999

The OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite offers more flexibility with multiple RAM and storage configurations, including a 256GB variant for users who need additional onboard storage, but in direct comparison in terms of RAM and storage, it is slightly more expensive than the Moto G77 Power. The latter keeps things simple with a single 8GB + 128GB model, although its introductory bank offer makes it even more affordable than the OnePlus at launch.

Design

Both smartphones feature flat frames and military-grade durability certifications along with an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance. This means both phones are protected against dust ingress and accidental splashes but are not designed for underwater use.

The Moto G77 Power offers a choice between PMMA (acrylic) and vegan leather rear finishes, giving buyers a more premium in-hand feel. It comes in Pantone Impenetrable (Gray), Pantone Nautical Blue, and Pantone Fuchsia Red colour options. The OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite is available in Vivid Mint and Hyper Black.

The OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite weighs around 208 gms, while the Moto G77 Power is marginally heavier at 215 gms. Both phones also include stereo speakers, although Motorola retains a 3.5 mm headphone jack, which some users may still appreciate.

Display

The Moto G77 Power features a 6.72-inch Full HD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 1,050 nits peak brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection. The OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite uses a similarly sized 6.72-inch Full HD+ LCD panel but increases the refresh rate to 144Hz. It also supports up to 1,000 nits peak brightness and Aqua Touch technology for improved touch responsiveness with wet fingers.

Since both smartphones offer Full HD+ resolution, videos and text should appear equally sharp. However, the OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite's higher 144Hz refresh rate could make animations and supported games feel smoother. On the other hand, Gorilla Glass 7i gives the Moto G77 Power an advantage in display protection against scratches and accidental drops.

Performance

The OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Apex chipset built on a 4nm process, while the Moto G77 Power uses the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 processor. On paper, the Dimensity 7400 Apex sits above the Dimensity 6400 and should deliver stronger CPU and GPU performance, especially during gaming and demanding multitasking. The OnePlus phone also benefits from UFS 3.1 storage, which generally offers faster app launches, quicker installations, and better overall responsiveness.

The Moto G77 Power comes with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and supports RAM Boost expansion up to 24GB. Meanwhile, the OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite is available with up to 8GB RAM and features a large 21,683 sq mm heat dissipation system to better manage temperatures during extended gaming sessions.

Battery and charging

Battery capacity is evenly matched, with both smartphones packing a 7,000mAh battery that should comfortably last well beyond a full day for most users. This is pretty much what has become the standard benchmark across the industry. The main difference lies in charging speeds. The Moto G77 Power supports 30W TurboPower charging along with 6W wired reverse charging. In comparison, the OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite offers faster 45W SUPERVOOC charging, 10W reverse wired charging, and bypass charging, which helps reduce heat generation while gaming with the charger connected. While both offer large batteries, the OnePlus's significantly faster charging could be a real game-changer for busy users. Those who prioritise quicker top-ups are likely to prefer the OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite, while both phones should deliver similarly strong battery endurance.

Cameras

The Moto G77 Power features a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 primary camera paired with an 8MP ultrawide camera. On the front, it gets a 32MP selfie camera. Both the front and rear cameras support video recording at up to 2K resolution. The OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite uses a 50MP primary camera along with a 2MP depth sensor. It houses an 8MP selfie camera and supports 4K video recording at 30 fps using both the front and rear cameras.

The Moto G77 Power appears stronger for photography on paper thanks to its dedicated ultrawide camera and much higher-resolution selfie camera. However, users who prioritise higher-resolution video recording may prefer the OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite because of its 4K recording support.

Software

The Moto G77 Power ships with Hello UI based on Android 16, while the OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite runs OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16. Motorola promises one major Android OS upgrade along with three years of security updates for the Moto G77 Power. Meanwhile, OnePlus gives a better deal for longevity with two OS upgrades and four years of security updates. Users who typically keep their smartphones for several years may prefer OxygenOS if long-term software optimisation is a priority, while Motorola continues to offer a clean Android experience with Hello UI.

Why choose the Moto G77 Power?

Better cameras with a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 sensor, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 32MP selfie camera.

Gorilla Glass 7i protection adds extra durability to the display.

Premium PMMA and vegan leather finish options offer a more distinctive design.

Includes a 3.5mm headphone jack alongside stereo speakers.

Effective launch price of Rs 23,999 with eligible bank offers makes it more affordable initially.

Why choose the OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite?

Better overall performance with the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Apex chipset and UFS 3.1 storage.

Smoother 144Hz display for gaming and animations.

Faster 45W SUPERVOOC charging along with bypass charging support.

Available in up to 256GB storage for users who need more onboard space.

Supports 4K video recording on both the front and rear cameras.

Offers OxygenOS 16 and longer software support.

iQOO Z11 Lite India launch date officially announced; design revealed

[highlights]

iQOO Z11 Lite will succeed last year's Z10 Lite.

It's targeted at the Gen Z crowd.

The handset could offer a larger battery than the previous model.

[/highlights]

Shortly after teasing the iQOO Z11 Lite in India, the brand has revealed the launch date. The handset will succeed last year's iQOO Z10 Lite, which is an affordable option in the brand's popular Z series. It will also sit below the Z11x, which starts at Rs 24,999 in India. The iQOO Z11 Lite's design has also been revealed alongside the launch date. Here's what we know so far about iQOO's upcoming phone.

iQOO Z11 Lite India launch date

The iQOO Z11 Lite is scheduled to launch in India on July 24th. The announcement was made on iQOO India's X profile. The handset's rear design is also shown off through a teaser image. The iQOO Z11 Lite can be seen with flat edges, vertically-aligned cameras, and a cloud-like pattern on the rear panel. In terms of design, it's a sleek and premium design that could make it stand out in the budget segment. The iQOO Z10 Lite also has a stylish look, so it looks like the brand is continuing with the same strategy.

iQOO Z11 Lite: what to expect

iQOO has yet to reveal the specifications of the Z11 Lite, but there are some speculations on its hardware. The handset could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC, the same chipset found on the Z10 Lite. This would mean a similar performance level on both phones. While the Dimensity 6300 is a capable chip for the budget segment, retaining it might be a cautious move by iQOO, potentially limiting performance differentiation from its predecessor.

Up front, the Z11 Lite is tipped to feature a 6.74-inch LCD screen with a notch, which would be the same as its predecessor. We could also see a similar camera setup, which is a 50MP primary sensor + 2MP depth sensor, and a 5MP front snapper on the iQOO Z11 Lite. The major upgrade here could be a slightly bigger 6,500mAh battery and faster 44W charging support. A 6,500mAh battery could easily last an entire day for moderate users, reducing charging frequency. In comparison, the Z10 Lite has a 6,000mAh battery and 15W fast charging support. It could also come with an IP65 rating, while the Z10 Lite has IP64.

Based on these details, we can expect the iQOO Z11 Lite to offer upgrades in the battery and durability areas. However, these are only speculations for now, so it's best to wait for official confirmation before jumping to conclusions. The handset also appears to offer a balanced package, without going over the mile in a particular area.

The iQOO Z11 Lite may be worth waiting for if you want a stylish-looking budget phone with a large battery, fast charging, and a balanced set of specifications. Those who already own a Z10 Lite may want to wait for official details to see if the upgrade is worth it.

Realme claims the Narzo 100x 5G can deliver up to three days of battery life and up to 26 hours of YouTube playback time on a single charge. While we can't determine the battery life yet, the large capacity can very well last for three days on light usage.

The new Realme phone is confirmed to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300, a popular chipset in the budget segment, ensuring capable performance for everyday tasks. It will be paired with up to 14GB of Dynamic RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. On the software front, the Narzo 100x will run Realme UI 7.0 based on Android 16 with built-in Gemini Live, AI Assistant for Notes, AI Eraser, and AI-powered Portrait Lighting.

Realme has also confirmed that the Narzo 100x 5G's display will feature a 144Hz refresh rate and 1,200 nits peak brightness. The high refresh rate ensures a smooth scrolling experience. The handset will be equipped with a 5,300 sq mm vapour chamber for heat dissipation, which should be good for long gaming sessions. The Narzo 100x 5G is also confirmed to house a 50MP primary camera with a secondary sensor.

In terms of durability, it will come with a MIL-STD-810H certified build and Military-Grade shock resistance. It will measure 8.8mm thick, and is confirmed to have ArmorShell Protection and Airbag Protection.

Going by these specifications, the Realme Narzo 100x 5G will appeal to buyers who want a large battery and a high refresh rate display. So if these are your priorities, then maybe hold off on purchasing a new budget 5G phone and wait for the Narzo 100x 5G. If you own the Narzo 100 Lite, wait for a full spec comparison before considering an upgrade.

Redmi Note 17 Pro survives football shots, firehose blast in new teaser

The Redmi Note 17 Pro is set to have durability as one of its key selling points, a new trailer from Xiaomi suggests. Watch it here.

[highlights]

The Redmi Note 17 series is launching in China on July 14th.

A new teaser highlights its durability subjecting it to football shots, hard objects and even a strong stream of water.

The phones have also been spotted on BIS, indicating an India launch.

[/highlights]

Xiaomi has released a new teaser for the upcoming Redmi Note 17 Pro, putting the smartphone through a series of unusual durability tests ahead of its official debut. Through the video, the company highlights the phone's rugged design, which includes Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on the front and IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance. The Redmi Note 17 series is confirmed to debut in China on July 14th.

Redmi Note 17 Pro durability challenge

The cinematic teaser shows the Redmi Note 17 Pro facing three rounds of durability tests. The opening round, titled "Goalkeeper", shows several Redmi Note 17 Pro units mounted on robotic arms that block football penalty shots. The second round, roughly translated to "Extreme Impact Test" shows the phones taking direct hits from hard objects such as walnuts and even a durian.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4Mby27SJRo

The next round, "Ultra High-Pressure Water Resistance Challenge", first demonstrates the strength of a firefighter's hose by showing it shatter glass panels and push a parked car before directing the high-pressure water jet at the Redmi Note 17 Pro. The phone remains fixed in place and miraculously continues to operate. While these are controlled tests, the teaser suggests Xiaomi is making durability one of the Redmi Note 17 Pro's key selling points.

Redmi Note 17 series launch timeline and expected features

The Redmi Note 17 series is scheduled to launch in China on July 14th at 7 pm CST (4:30 pm IST). While Xiaomi hasn't announced a global rollout yet, the Redmi Note 17 has already appeared on the BIS certification website, indicating that an India launch could follow. The lineup is expected to include the Redmi Note 17 and Redmi Note 17 Pro, while rumours also point to a Redmi Note 17 Pro Max joining the series.

Redmi has also refreshed the design with vertically aligned camera modules and new rear panel finishes featuring cloud and shooting star-inspired patterns. According to leaks, the Redmi Note 17 could feature a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display, Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, a larger battery than the Redmi Note 15's 5,800mAh unit, 67W fast charging, a 50MP primary camera, and HyperOS 3.1 based on Android 16. The newer chipset should also offer an upgrade over the Redmi Note 15's Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 for everyday performance. The Redmi Note 17 Pro, meanwhile, is rumoured to feature a 10,000mAh battery, which would make it one of the largest in its segment. It's also tipped to pack a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset, a 1.5K flat OLED display, a 50MP primary camera, and a 32MP selfie camera.

From what has been revealed so far, Xiaomi appears to be shifting the Redmi Note series towards bigger batteries and stronger durability while retaining its value positioning. The mid-range smartphone market has increasingly focused on battery capacity in recent months, with brands like Honor, OnePlus, OPPO, Realme and Motorola making 7,000mAh the bare minimum and going up to 11,000mAh. If the Redmi Note 17 Pro's rumoured 10,000mAh battery is for real, it could stand out, making the series worth waiting for for users who prioritise endurance or upgrading from a much older phone.

Honor's next foldable tipped to be "wide" with 7,000mAh+ battery, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6

Honor is set to launch its next foldable soon and its specifications have been tipped. Here's what to expect from the phone.

[highlights]

Honor's upcoming book-style foldable has been tipped to feature a 7.6-inch inner display and a 5.5-inch cover screen.

Honor currently holds the record for the largest battery (7,150mAh) and one of the thinnest book-style foldable designs.

The name of the wide foldable has not been revealed yet.

[/highlights]

Honor appears to be preparing its next big move in the foldable smartphone market. A new leak from tipster Digital Chat Station suggests the company is fast-tracking development of a new book-style foldable with a wider design, readying it to compete with Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 (which is said to be the "wide" foldable) and Apple's rumoured foldable iPhone, also one expected to come in a wide, book-style format.

Honor wide foldable expected features

According to the tipster, the current engineering prototype is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset, set to launch in September. He adds the device will feature a 7.6-inch inner display, a 5.5-inch cover screen, a 200MP primary camera, and a periscope telephoto camera housed inside a horizontal camera module. It's also tipped to pack a battery exceeding 7,000mAh (making it the largest on a foldable), with a starting price of CNY 9,999 (around Rs 1.4 lakh).

If the claim is accurate, Honor could once again set a benchmark in the foldable segment. The company has previously built a reputation for pushing limits when it comes to foldables. The Chinese variant of the Honor Magic V6 currently offers the largest battery in a foldable smartphone, featuring a 7,150mAh silicon-carbon battery on its 1TB variant. Honor also holds the distinction of making one of the world's thinnest book-style foldables with the Magic V6, which measures just 4 mm when unfolded and 8.75 mm when folded while weighing around 219 gms.

This has helped Honor stand out in a category where many brands have focused primarily on slimmer designs. The company has shown it is willing to combine thin form factors with larger batteries, addressing one of the biggest compromises associated with foldable phones.

Upcoming wide foldables

The foldable market could see a turning point this year as several brands move towards wider book-style designs that feel closer to a conventional smartphone when folded. Samsung has already confirmed its July 22nd Galaxy Unpacked event, where it's expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 8, a new wider foldable expected to sit alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. Apple is also rumoured to enter the category in September with its first foldable iPhone, while Huawei already offers a wide-format foldable through the Huawei Pura X Max.

For buyers, the growing competition between Honor, Samsung, Huawei and Apple is likely to translate into more choice and faster innovation. However, with all specifications still based on leaks, it may be worth waiting for the official announcements before making a purchase decision. Final pricing, software experience and regional hardware differences will determine which foldable offers the strongest overall value.

iQOO Z11 bags BIS certification in India; launch expected after iQOO Z11 Lite

The iQOO Z11 could launch in India soon, after the company announces the Z11 Lite. Here are the details.

The handset is tipped to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, a 6,500mAh battery, and 44W fast charging. It's also expected to run OriginOS 6 based on Android 16 and include AI-powered features for content creation and live captioning. Based on this, the Z11 Lite will be the entry point into the series, which currently only features the Z11x with the Dimensity 7400 Turbo.

iQOO Z11 (standard)

According to tipster Debayan Roy, the iQOO Z11 could feature UFS 3.1 storage, a flat OLED display, and a battery in the 8,000mAh to 9,000mAh range. Separately, a phone with the same model number which is there on BIS, recently surfaced on Geekbench, revealing a MediaTek Dimensity 7500 chipset, 12GB RAM, and Android 16. Some reports indicate that the Indian iQOO Z11 is a rebranded version of the Vivo S60e Vitality Edition, which uses the same chipset. However, iQOO hasn't confirmed this, and the hardware details remain speculative. These specifications could prove to be competitive around the Rs 25,000-mark as most popular phones in this range have similarly capable chipsets and similarly sized batteries.

Globally, the iQOO Z11 has launched with different specifications depending on the market. The Malaysian variant uses the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, while the Chinese model features the MediaTek Dimensity 8500. This suggests the Indian version could become a third regional variant, reflecting the company's strategy of tailoring hardware to local pricing and competition.

The iQOO Z11 is expected to sit above the iQOO Z11x, which currently starts at Rs 22,999 in India after recent price revisions. Depending on its final price, the phone could compete with devices such as the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion and other battery-focused mid-range smartphones.

Considering the Z11 series could come with options across various price segments, buyers should wait for launch offers and detailed specs to see what fits their bill as mostly everything is speculation for now.

Vivo compact flagship phone with 64MP periscope lens, large LOFIC sensor reportedly in the works

[highlights]

The handset in question could be the Vivo X500 Pro or Pro Mini.

It could house a new 64MP periscope telephoto lens.

Vivo is also expected to launch the X500 Pro in a compact form factor.

[/highlights]

Vivo's next-generation flagship phone, the X500 series, has been showing up in leaks and reports. The lineup is due to launch later this year, but leaks about the hardware upgrades have already surfaced online. A new leak reveals what could be the possible specifications of the Vivo X500 Pro. This handset is also speculated to be called Vivo X500 Pro Mini. Nothing is conclusive yet, but here's what to expect from the upcoming Vivo flagship.

Vivo X500 Pro specifications (tipped)

According to a new post by tipster Digital Chat Station, there's a new small-screen flagship in the works with an upcoming 2nm MediaTek Dimensity chipset. This handset in question is reportedly the Vivo X500 Pro or X500 Pro Mini. This chipset could be called the Dimensity 9600 Pro, which would be MediaTek's next-generation flagship SoC. The tipster added that there will be a Dimensity 9600, an upgraded version of the Dimensity 9500, set to power the standard Vivo X500.

The Vivo X500 Pro is said to feature a 6,500mAh-6,600mAh battery capacity, which could go up to 7,000mAh. This would be a slight upgrade over the X300 Pro, but not a major one. The reason behind this is reportedly due to the focus shifted to premium camera hardware for the X500 Pro. Speaking of which, the Vivo flagship is tipped to house a 64MP 85mm periscope telephoto lens and a large LOFIC primary sensor. These could be a 50MP primary camera and a 50MP ultra-wide lens.

Other leaks have also suggested that the Vivo X500 Pro will feature a compact 6.37-inch 1.5K OLED display with an LTPO panel and a 144Hz refresh rate. This would mean a different strategy for Vivo as the X300 has a large 6.78-inch display. The standard X500 is also expected to come in a compact form factor, meaning that only the rumoured X500 Pro Max could be the only large-screened one in the lineup.

Vivo is expected to launch its flagship lineup in China this September. The X500 Pro looks interesting for those who want a compact flagship with advanced cameras and a 2nm chipset. However, if a large battery capacity is a priority, then the X500 Pro may not be the right pick. It's still too early, though, so we should wait for more concrete details.

Moto G77 Power launched in India with 7,000mAh battery, 50MP LYTIA-600 camera, FHD+ display and more

The Moto G77 Power has launched in India with a 7,000mAh battery, MediaTek Dimensity 6400, 50MP LYTIA 600 primary camera, and more.

[highlights]

The Moto G77 Power is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400.

It carries a 1/2-inch primary camera sensor, something which is now rarely seen in the segment.

The phone goes on sale starting July 13th and can be purchased from Flipkart, Motorola's website, and retail stores.

[/highlights]

Motorola has expanded its 2026 G-series lineup by launching the Moto G77 Power in India today. Featuring the MediaTek Dimensity 6400, the smartphone is aimed at users seeking a reliable performative smartphone that can handle regular day-to-day tasks. However, what makes it stand out is the inclusion of the 50MP LYTIA 600 primary camera, a 1/2-inch sensor, which is not so common anymore in the segment. With the sale starting soon, the G77 Power could be a compelling choice for those seeking strong photography and excellent battery endurance.

Moto G77 Power price, availability, sale date

The Moto G77 Power comes in a single storage configuration featuring 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. Priced at Rs 25,999, the handset will be available in PANTONE Fuchsia Red, PANTONE Nautical Blue, and PANTONE Impenetrable colourways.

The phone goes on sale starting July 13th on Flipkart, Motorola.in, and retail stores across India. As part of the early bird launch offers, the G77 Power can be grabbed at an effective price of Rs 23,999 through bank offers.

Moto G77 Power design and specifications overview

Much like previous Moto G-series releases, the Moto G77 Power sports a protruding camera layout and features multiple rear finishes. While to some the design may seem repetitive, Motorola seems to be maintaining cohesiveness across all its smartphones. Turning the phone over to its display, it sports a 6.72-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD panel with up to 120Hz refresh rates and a high brightness of up to 1,050 nits.

Running under the hood is the MediaTek Dimensity 6400, the same 6nm-based chipset we saw on the Moto G37 Power recently, which achieved scores of 5,70,353 and 1,349 in our in-house AnTuTu and Geekbench multi-core tests, respectively. The chipset is paired with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage, which is further expandable up to 1TB using a microSD card.

[gallery link="file" td_select_gallery_slide="slide" ids="707624,707623,707625"]

For optics, the Moto G77 Power features a 50MP LYTIA 600 primary camera with a 1/2-inch sensor size along with an 8MP ultrawide lens. Given that most phones above Rs 20,000 are settling for 1/2.76 or even smaller sensors, the 1/2-inch sensor is a great addition on the G77 Power, which should result in sharper and clearer images, especially in low light conditions. Both rear and front cameras are capable of shooting videos in up to 2K resolution at 30FPS.

The device boots on Android 16-based Hello UI out of the box and is assured of the Android 17 update down the line. Furthermore, it's set to receive security patch updates for up to three years. While competitors are promising at least two major OS upgrades, a single major Android update feels underwhelming.

Rocking a massive 7,000mAh battery, the G77 Power should deliver enough endurance to last at least 1.5 days even on heavy use, as was the case with the G37 Power when we reviewed it. For top-ups, the handset gets a bundled 30W power adapter, while 6W reverse wired charging is also present to help others charge their device.

The Moto G77 Power also features a 3.5mm headphone jack, Dolby Atmos-supported stereo speakers, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, all of which combine to enhance the day-to-day user experience.

Should you consider buying Moto G77 Power?

Given the launch price of Rs 25,999, the Moto G77 Power rivals the likes of the OnePlus Nord N6 and iQOO Z11x, both of which also carry an LCD display and large batteries. The Moto G77 Power's advantages, at least on paper, include a bigger primary camera sensor size, which should result in more detailed images, a full HD+ resolution display (N6 is restricted to HD+), and multiple funky colour choices.

On the other hand, the iQOO Z11x may offer better performance numbers, thanks to Dimensity 7400, while it's also set to gain two major OS upgrades, whereas the G77 Power is restricted to just one.

Google Pixel 11 series prices, storage options leak ahead of expected August 12th launch

The Google Pixel 11 series launch date has been leaked, and along with it, so have been the prices and storage options. Here's how the Pixel 11 series could be priced in Europe.

[highlights]

The Google Pixel 11 series could launch with 256GB as the base storage.

The Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold are tipped to see price increases in Europe, while the Pixel 11 Pro may retain last year's pricing.

Google could launch the Pixel 11 series on August 12th.

[/highlights]

Google is expected to unveil the Pixel 11 series at its next Made by Google event on August 12th, and a fresh leak has now revealed the possible prices, storage variants, and colour options for the upcoming lineup. The series is expected to include four models: the Google Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold.

According to a report by Dealabs in collaboration with tipster BillBil-Kun, Google could increase prices for some Pixel 11 models in Europe while also dropping the 128GB storage option across the lineup.

Expected Google Pixel 11 series prices

The leaked pricing suggests the standard Google Pixel 11 could start at EUR 999 (Around Rs 1.08 lakh) for the 256GB variant, up from the Pixel 10's launch price of EUR 899 for the 128GB model. The handset is also tipped to be available in a 512GB configuration priced at EUR 1,129 (around Rs 1.23 lakh).

The Pixel 11 Pro is expected to retain last year's pricing, starting at EUR 1,199 (Around Rs 1.3 lakh) for 256GB, while the 512GB and 1TB variants could cost EUR 1,329 (around Rs 1.45 lakh) and EUR 1,589 (around Rs 1.73 lakh), respectively. The Pixel 11 Pro XL, however, is tipped to see a EUR 100 increase over its predecessor. It could start at EUR 1,399 (around Rs 1.52 lakh) for 256GB, with the 512GB and 1TB versions priced at EUR 1,529 (around Rs 1.66 lakh) and EUR 1,789 (around Rs 1.95 lakh), respectively.

Google's next foldable, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, is also expected to become more expensive. The leaked prices point to a starting price of EUR 1,999 (around Rs 2.17 lakh) for the 256GB model, rising to EUR 2,129 (around Rs 2.3 lakh) for 512GB and EUR 2,389 (around Rs 2.6 lakh) for the 1TB variant.

A notable change here is the reported removal of the 128GB entry-level option. Apple also adopted a similar strategy for the iPhone 17 lineup, and this seems to be becoming a new strategy adopted by OEMs to justify the hiked price tags.

The leak further suggests the Pixel 11 will be offered in Fuchsia, Light Sterling, Midnight Haze, and Moss finishes. The Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL are tipped to arrive in Dune, Light Fog, Midnight Haze, and Pine, while the Pixel 11 Pro Fold could be available in Midnight Haze and Pine. The report adds that 1TB variants may be limited to the Midnight Haze finish.

Google appears to be positioning the Pixel 11 series further into the premium segment by pairing higher base storage with revised pricing. The lineup will compete with flagship smartphones from Samsung and Apple, while the Pixel Pro Fold will continue to challenge premium foldables such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8/Ultra, Honor Magic V 6, Vivo X Fold 6 and OPPO Find N6.

The leaked pricing suggests it may be worth waiting for the official launch before making a decision. Even if the Pixel 11 series debuts at higher prices, Google could offset the increase with launch offers in some markets, while the Pixel 10 lineup may receive discounts after the new models arrive.
