The Xiaomi 17T series is a sub-flagship offering from the brand, positioned below the Xiaomi 17. Check out their complete specificiations

[highlights]

The Xiaomi 17T series is the company's sub-flagship offerings.

Key specifications include MediaTek Dimensity 9500 SoC, 7,000mAh battery, 50MP Leica camera setup, and more

The Xiaomi 17T is confirmed to launch in India on June 4th.

[/highlights]

Xiaomi has introduced two new smartphones in its 17 series in Europe, the 17T and 17T Pro, both positioned below the standard Xiaomi 17 (review) launched earlier this year in India. The Xiaomi 17T is the more affordable of the two, yet still carries Leica-branded camera hardware, while the Pro variant adds a more powerful chipset, a larger battery, and additional upgrades. The Xiaomi 17T is set to launch in India on June 4th, while the 17T Pro does not yet have an official release date.

Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro price in Europe

The Xiaomi 17T has been launched with a starting price of Euro 749 (~Rs 83,400), while the Xiaomi 17T Pro costs Euro (~Rs 1,00,000). Both smartphones come in different colourways. The Xiaomi 17T is available in four colourways: black, violet, blue and opal white, whereas the Xiaomi 17T Pro comes in Black, Deep Blue and Deep Violet colour options.

Xiaomi 17T specifications

The Xiaomi 17T's cameras remain its strong aspect. The smartphone features a triple rear camera setup, comprising a 50MP Light Fusion 800 main camera, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom. The telephoto lens zoom is higher than that of the more expensive Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra. Users can expect sharper long-range shots, improved portrait photography, and flexible framing options across different lighting scenarios.

Furthermore, the cameras are backed by the "Leica Complete Camera system" and offer a focal range stretching from 15mm to 115mm with its 0.6x to 5x optical zoom. Xiaomi is also bringing creative shooting modes like Silhouette, Flame, and Fireworks to the smartphone to widen the appeal among mobile photographers. Up front, the Xiaomi 17T sports a 32MP sensor for selfies and video calling. For video recording, the Xiaomi 17T supports 4K 60fps HDR10 recording with optical image stabilisation.

At the core of the Xiaomi 17T lies the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset, paired with Xiaomi's Surge T1 Plus and T1S chips. The company has also equipped the device with a 3D Ice Loop cooling system, which should help maintain stable performance during extended gaming sessions, 4K video recording, or multitasking. Xiaomi additionally claims the handset supports Astro Communication, enabling offline connectivity over distances of up to 1.3 kilometres in select scenarios.

The handset sports a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, HDR10+ support, Dolby Vision, 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut, 120Hz refresh rate, and 3,500 nits peak brightness. The display size doesn't make the Xiaomi 17T the most compact smartphone out there, but it seems convenient for single-handed usage.

The smartphone houses a 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery, larger than that of the Xiaomi 17, with 67W fast charging. Despite the battery size, the handset weighs around 200 grams, which is relatively manageable for everyday usage. Software-wise, the smartphone runs Android 16-based HyperOS 3 out of the box, which offers several ecosystem-focused features, including iPhone integration, AirPods support, and Xiaomi's enhanced Hyper Island functionality.

Xiaomi 17T Pro specifications

The Xiaomi 17T Pro attempts to amplify the experience with a flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9500 SoC. The smartphone also sports a bigger 6.83-inch AMOLED display with up to 144Hz refresh rate, which might make it an appealing buy for mobile gamers. To back that up, the handset features a 7,000mAh battery with improved 100W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

The Xiaomi 17T Pro camera setup may remain identical to the vanilla Xiaomi 17T, with a 50MP primary sensor, 12MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP 5x telephoto lens. That said, Xiaomi has swapped the primary sensor for a flagship Light Fusion 950, which is identical to the Xiaomi 17, for the Pro model. This should give the smartphone an edge over the Xiaomi 17T, capturing superior details.

The other aspects of the smartphones remain pretty much the same as the Xiaomi 17T, including the IP68/IP69 rated water and dust resistance design, squarish camera deco, flat edges, and more.

Overall, the Xiaomi 17T series appears to target users looking for a flagship-like camera experience without stepping into the flagship pricing territory. Its combination of a versatile Leica-backed camera setup, large battery, premium display, and creator-focused features could make it one of the more well-rounded sub-flagship smartphones in the market and worth waiting for. The India launch of the Xiaomi 17T is happening next month, so stay tuned to 91mobiles for its India price, availability, and other details.

Specs

Xiaomi 17T

Xiaomi 17T Pro

Display

6.59-inch AMOLED display, 120Hz

6.83-inch AMOLED display, 144Hz

Chipset

MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra

MediaTek Dimensity 9500

Rear cameras

50MP main + 12MP UW + 50MP 5x telephoto

50MP main + 12MP UW + 50MP 5x telephoto

Front camera

32MP

32MP

Software

HyperOS 3

HyperOS 3

Battery and charging

6,500mAh battery, 67W fast charging

7,000mAh battery, 100W fast charging, 50W wireless

Weight and durability

IP68/IP69 rated

IP68/IP69 rated

OPPO Find X10 leak reveals 100MP square front camera

The OPPO Find X10 series may feature Android's first square front camera. Here's what the latest leak says.

[highlights]

A new leak suggests the OPPO Find X10 series may feature Android's first 1:1 square-format selfie camera sensor.

The front camera is tipped to use a customised 100MP Samsung sensor measuring around 1/2.5 inches.

The OPPO Find X10 lineup is also expected to use MediaTek's upcoming 2nm Dimensity 9600 chipset.

[/highlights]

Front camera upgrades in smartphones have largely focused on higher resolution sensors, autofocus systems, and AI processing over the past few years. But a new leak suggests OPPO may be preparing a more unusual change for its next flagship lineup.

According to tipster Digital Chat Station (via), the upcoming OPPO Find X10 series is currently being tested with a new 100MP square-format selfie camera sensor. If it launches commercially, it could become the first Android smartphone lineup to use a 1:1 square front camera sensor design.

The leak claims the setup uses a customised Samsung-built 100MP sensor measuring around 1/2.5 inches. The technology is reportedly being tested for a future device powered by MediaTek's upcoming 2nm Dimensity 9600 chipset, which is expected to debut inside the Find X10 family.

Square camera vs circular front camera

Traditional front cameras are usually designed around vertical framing, since most selfie photos and social media content are captured in portrait orientation. A square 1:1 sensor changes that approach by capturing a wider frame that can be cropped more flexibly for both vertical and horizontal content.

That could help during video calls, group selfies, live streaming, and creator-focused content where users frequently switch between orientations. Instead of rotating the phone or aggressively cropping the image, the sensor can retain more of the original frame.

The concept is not entirely new. Apple introduced a similar approach with its Center Stage-style front camera system on the iPhone 17 series, though Apple's implementation reportedly uses a lower-resolution 24MP sensor. OPPO appears to be exploring a far higher-resolution version aimed at maximising flexibility and digital crop options.

The leak also suggests the Find X10 lineup may promote "100MP front and rear multi-focal lengths," hinting at a broader camera-centric strategy across both selfie and rear camera systems.

For buyers, the real question is whether a 100MP square selfie sensor delivers visible everyday improvements or simply becomes another specification race. Higher megapixel counts do not automatically guarantee better selfies, especially if software optimisation, skin tones, HDR handling, and low-light processing are inconsistent. Still, for users who frequently shoot selfies, create vertical video content, or rely on video calls daily, a more flexible front camera system could offer practical advantages beyond marketing numbers alone. Users who employ the front camera a lot may wait to see what OPPO brings to the Find X10 series.

Your iPhone could soon lock automatically the moment it’s snatched from your hand

[highlights]

Apple is working on a new security feature for iPhones.

It will detect when your iPhone is snatched and automatically lock it.

There's no official release confirmation of this feature yet.

[/highlights]

Apple could soon introduce a feature that will detect if your iPhone has been stolen and accordingly lock the device. This feature will automatically lock your iPhone if it detects that someone has snatched it from your hand. Apple's new security feature is in the works, according to a report by 9to5mac, based on a code discovered by the publication. This feature is said to work similarly to Android's Theft Detection Lock.

Apple's new security feature for snatched iPhones

According to details shared in the report, this security system will use several signals before determining if the iPhone has been snatched from the user's hand. Starting with the iPhone's accelerometer, it will be used to detect if the device has been snatched, and once that's confirmed, the iPhone will be automatically locked.

If you have a paired Apple Watch, the next step will be to determine the location of your iPhone. Depending on how far your iPhone is, it will further understand if the iPhone has indeed been snatched from its owner. This is important as there may be situations where your iPhone is snatched by your friend or someone you know, and not necessarily stolen.

Once it's confirmed that your iPhone has indeed been snatched and stolen, the Stolen Device Protection will be implemented. These things include detecting whether the iPhone is connected to a known Wi-Fi network and if it's in a familiar location. Confirming these factors will restrict access to stored passwords and credit cards that require biometric authentication with Face ID or Touch ID.

Changing your Apple Account password will also require you to wait an hour and then perform an additional Face ID or Touch ID authentication. This way, even if your iPhone is stolen, your personal data will remain secure. So, the new security feature would build upon the existing protections that Apple provides. It can also be seen as a broader push into privacy and security as a core brand pillar.

If Apple does end up launching this feature, it will be very helpful in situations where your iPhone gets snatched, which is still highly prevalent everywhere. Android's Theft Detection Lock works similarly, and it's powered by AI to automatically lock the phone's screen if someone snatches it or if the phone goes offline. This feature is built in and can be enabled by the user. You can also remotely lock your device or erase its data if it's stolen, as long as it's online.

While this feature isn't confirmed, it adds another layer of security for future iPhone models or OS updates, making current iPhones even more robust against theft. If security is your top concern, this potential development reinforces the value of staying within the Apple ecosystem.

Realme P4R India launch officially teased: here's what we know so far

[highlights]

Realme P4R is the latest phone to join the Realme P4 series.

The handset is tipped to launch in three memory configurations.

Its specifications haven't been revealed yet.

[/highlights]

Realme is adding another smartphone to its P-series with the Realme P4R. This will be the seventh phone to join the Realme P4 lineup, which currently has the Realme P4 Pro, P4x, P4 Power, and P4 Lite (4G and 5G models). It's also the first 'R' model in the P series, so it's not clear where exactly the phone will sit in terms of hierarchy. There's a Realme P4s rumoured as well, with its launch tipped to take place next month, but no official word on it yet.

Realme P4R India launch teased

Realme P4R is officially teased to launch in India. The launch reveal was made on Flipkart with a dedicated microsite for the same. So far, only the phone's name has been revealed and no other details. Realme teases it, saying, "The R evolution is coming," with no hint about what to expect. The 'R' here might imply a focus on a specific feature like battery life or camera, appealing to users prioritising those aspects. For example, the Realme P4 Power focuses on endurance with its massive 10,001mAh battery.

The rest of the microsite talks about the existing Realme P4 series models, highlighting key details about the phones. It's worth mentioning that Realme already has several phones in the P4 series, spanning across different price segments. So, the new Realme P4R could be to ensure the brand's presence. However, Realme's relentless P-series expansion might also make it increasingly challenging for consumers to differentiate between models.

The Realme P4R was mentioned earlier this year, in March, by tipster Abhishek Yadav. The smartphone carries the model number RMX5266, and it will launch in three memory configurations: 4GB + 128GB, 6GB + 128GB, and 6GB + 256GB. The Realme P4R's colour options were also revealed: Silver Glare, Titanium Glare and Lavender Glare.

Based on the moniker, the Realme P4R could be an affordable model in the lineup. At present, the Realme P4 Lite is the cheapest, priced at Rs 13,999. The Realme P4R will possibly sit above the Realme P4x, which is currently available at Rs 22,449.

Since we don't have any details about the Realme P4R's specifications, we can't say much about what to expect from the smartphone. It will most likely be offered as a budget to mid-range option with key highlights different from the other Realme P4 series phones. Given the current lack of details, potential buyers should wait for the official launch and full specifications before making any purchasing decisions. If you're currently using an older Realme P-series phone, it's unlikely the P4R, especially if it's a budget model, will offer a significant upgrade unless your primary concern is a specific feature that might be hinted at during the launch.

In everyday use, the colours should look more natural, with more balanced bright and dark scenes. The system also claims to reduce blooming for a better visual experience. On 65‑inch and larger models, the X‑Wide Angle Pro technology helps maintain consistent colour and contrast from wider viewing positions, useful for living rooms where people sit at different angles.

The BRAVIA 7II uses Sony's Cognitive Processor XR, which enhances depth, contrast and clarity in real time. It comes paired with a set of technologies:

XR Contrast Booster 20: Balances light and dark elements

XR Clear Image: Reduces noise and upscales lower‑resolution content to near 4K

XR Motion Clarity: Keeps fast‑moving scenes smooth and blur‑free.

The TV supports Dolby Vision, HDR10, HLG and IMAX Enhanced, with Studio Calibrated Modes for Netflix, Prime Video and Sony Pictures Core that automatically optimise picture settings.

With Acoustic Multi‑Audio+ on 65‑inch and larger models, sound adapts to on‑screen action, and the added Tweeters help improve bass. Voice Zoom 3 with AI Sound Separation claims to keep dialogue clear above background noise, and 3D Surround Upscaling creates a virtual 5.1.4 channel surround experience. The TV also supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.

Gaming and smart features

The BRAVIA 7II supports 4K at 120fps via HDMI 2.1, ALLM and VRR, which helps reduce input lag and eliminate screen tearing. Game Menu 2 lets users access gaming settings like crosshair, black equaliser and motion blur reduction. Dolby Vision Gaming enhances visual fidelity, and the TV includes PS Remote Play and optimisations for PlayStation 5, including Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode.

The TV runs Google TV, giving access to over 400,000 movies and TV shows and thousands of apps and games. Hands‑Free Voice Search and Google Assistant let you control the TV and smart home devices with voice. It supports Apple AirPlay 2, Apple HomeKit, Google Cast and works with Alexa. Gemini for Google TV will arrive via an OTA update for smarter recommendations. You also get Sony Pictures Core included, which comes with 10 exclusive movie credits for 24 months.

Who should buy the BRAVIA 7II?

At Rs 3,59,900 for the 55‑inch model, the BRAVIA 7II is a premium TV for buyers who want top‑tier picture quality, excellent brightness and accurate colours. It is best for users who watch a lot of HDR content, movies and series. The TV is also ideal for frequent gamers with a PS5 or high-end PCs and people who want a bright TV for a living room without worrying about OLED burn-in.

True RGB is the most interesting part of the BRAVIA 7II, but its real value will come down to how much of that colour and brightness advantage users notice in everyday visuals. At this price, buyers will likely compare it not just with other premium Mini LED TVs but also with OLED models that are still likely to be better in black levels and contrast.

The BRAVIA 7II likely isn't meant to replace OLED entirely but to offer a high-end, brighter, and potentially longer-lasting alternative for viewers who struggle with OLED brightness limits or are concerned about burn-ins.

OnePlus 16 leak suggests 185Hz display, 200MP periscope camera for next-gen flagship

The OnePlus 16 is set to launch later this year and a tipster suggests it will come with a higher refresh rate than the OnePlus 15. Here's more.

[highlights]

A new leak suggests the OnePlus 16 is being tested with a 185Hz display.

This would make it the highest refresh rate panel on a OnePlus phone so far.

The smartphone is also tipped to feature a 200MP 3x periscope telephoto camera, alongside 50MP primary and ultrawide rear cameras.

[/highlights]

Display upgrades have become one of the biggest areas of competition among Android flagships, as brands push beyond traditional 120Hz panels in search of smoother gaming and scrolling experiences. Now, a new leak suggests the upcoming OnePlus 16 could take that race even further.

According to tipster Smart Pikachu (via), the OnePlus 16 is currently being tested with a 185Hz display featuring ultra-narrow bezels on all four sides. If accurate, that would make it the highest refresh rate panel ever used on a OnePlus phone, surpassing the 165Hz display introduced on last year's OnePlus 15. Earlier rumours had suggested OnePlus was evaluating a 240Hz panel, though the latest leak points toward 185Hz as the more realistic target during the engineering validation stage.

OnePlus 16 specifications leaked

The display is reportedly a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED panel sourced from BOE, with support for the BT.2020 colour gamut and a custom touch control IC. Combined with a potentially higher refresh rate, the setup suggests OnePlus may be focusing on gaming responsiveness and smoother animations for its next flagship. That would also place the OnePlus 16 directly against gaming-focused phones from brands like RedMagic, which have increasingly experimented with ultra-high refresh rate panels over the past few years. The iQOO 16 is also expected to come with an "ultra-high" refresh rate though the specifics of it haven't been detailed yet.

The camera system could also see a notable upgrade. The leak claims the OnePlus 16 may feature a 200MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, likely using Samsung's HP5 sensor. The remaining rear cameras are tipped to include a 50MP primary sensor and a 50MP ultrawide camera. Cameras have been one of the weak points of the OnePlus 15, and the company seems to be making sure it tightens the loose ends for the next-gen phone.

Under the hood, the OnePlus 16 is rumoured to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset alongside support for LPDDR6 RAM. The device is also tipped to pack a massive 9,000mAh battery, which would be significantly larger than most current flagship phones. Other leaked features include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, symmetrical dual speakers, an X-axis vibration motor, IP68/IP69 protection, and a dedicated AI button.

For buyers, the biggest question may ultimately be whether features like a 185Hz display deliver everyday advantages over existing 120Hz and 165Hz panels. While gamers and enthusiast users may appreciate the extra responsiveness, software optimisation, thermal performance, camera consistency, and battery efficiency will likely matter more in daily use than refresh rate numbers alone.

Lava Bold N2 5G teased to launch in India on June 3rd: here's what to expect

[highlights]

Lava Bold N2 is getting a 5G variant.

The 4G model launched in India earlier this year.

The smartphone is confirmed to house a 13MP primary camera.

[/highlights]

Lava has announced the launch of a new budget 5G smartphone in India. Lava Bold N2 5G is set to debut in India next week. As the name suggests, this handset will be the 5G version of the Lava Bold N2 4G that launched in India earlier this year, in February. It's not confirmed, though, whether the 5G variant will carry the same specifications as the 4G model. The Lava Bold N2 4G is an entry-level smartphone priced at Rs 7,499. Lava is known to offer budget-friendly options and the Bold N2 5G is expected to follow a similar strategy.

Lava Bold N2 5G India launch details

The Lava Bold N2 5G is scheduled to launch in India on June 3rd at 12 pm. It will be available on Amazon and most likely through more online and offline platforms. There's a dedicated microsite for the Lava Bold N2 5G on Flipkart, which gives us an idea of what to expect from the smartphone.

Lava Bold N2 5G: what to expect

Starting with the design, the Lava Bold N2 5G is teased in a glossy dark blue colour with two buttons on the right side. A teaser video also shows a gold-coloured variant with some design elements on the back panel. It has a square-shaped camera module housing two sensors and an LED flash. The teaser image confirms a 13MP camera, which could be the primary sensor on the Bold N2 5G. While the 13MP camera might seem modest in 2026, for its expected price point, it's a pragmatic choice.

The smartphone is also confirmed to launch with Android 16 out of the box. Lava is known to offer a near stock-like Android UI with a clean interface.

The Lava Bold N2 5G could offer the same specs as its 4G counterpart, which also has a 13MP main camera. If so, then this is what we can expect from the Lava Bold N2 5G:

6.75-inch HD+ LCD display, 90Hz refresh rate

Unisoc SC9863A SoC

13MP primary camera, 5MP front camera

5,000mAh battery, 10W wired charging

Android 15 (Go)

The Lava Bold N2 5G would be an upgrade in the sense that it supports faster 5G connectivity and would run Android 16 and not the toned-down Go version. Overall, it could be a budget-friendly option for people who want a 5G smartphone that has the basic requirements for a daily driver. If Lava continues with the same specs, then it would have to be priced aggressively to compete with rivals.

If your current phone is 4G and struggling, and you're on a tight budget, this could be a strong contender. However, if you prioritise camera quality or gaming performance, you might want to wait for reviews or consider slightly higher-priced alternatives.

Motorola acknowledges issue that redirected Amazon app launches through affiliate links

Motorola has fixed an issue that redirected Amazon app launches through affiliate tracking links on some smartphones, including newer Razr models.

[highlights]

Motorola has fixed an issue that redirected Amazon app launches through affiliate tracking links on some smartphones, including newer Razr models.

The behaviour was linked to Motorola's pre-installed Smart Feed app and reportedly appeared only when users opened Amazon from the app drawer.

Motorola said the redirect behaviour was "unintended" and tied to a launcher integration developed with Device Native.

[/highlights]

Motorola has acknowledged and fixed an issue that caused some of its smartphones to redirect users through a tracking link before opening the Amazon app, following reports that the behaviour was injecting affiliate codes without users knowing. The issue was first highlighted by 9to5Google and a Reddit user, who noticed that opening the Amazon app from the app drawer on certain Motorola phones briefly launched a browser window before redirecting back into Amazon. The redirect reportedly did not occur when opening the app directly from the home screen.

According to the report, the behaviour appeared to stem from Motorola's pre-installed Smart Feed app, which is bundled on several devices including the latest Razr (2026) foldables. Logs reportedly showed the launcher directing users through a URL tied to affiliate tracking before opening Amazon normally.

The issue drew criticism because affiliate redirects are associated with browser extensions or third-party software, not system-level apps on premium smartphones. The report also claimed that one redirect path referenced a website linked to a fashion influencer, though the affiliate code reportedly did not match publicly shared codes tied to that creator.

Motorola says behaviour was "unintended"

In a statement shared with 9to5Google, Motorola confirmed the behaviour and said it has already been corrected. The company described the redirect as an unintended issue tied to its partnership with Device Native, which jointly developed an app search and suggestion experience for Motorola's launcher.

Motorola said affected users in the US opening the Amazon Shopping app were briefly routed through a web tracking link before the app launched. The company added that the routing configuration has now been fixed and apps should open directly as intended. The company also said it takes privacy, platform integrity, and user experience seriously, while adding that it will continue monitoring the system.

Notably, the issue appears to have affected only certain software versions and devices. 9to5Google said it could reproduce the behaviour on a newer Razr Fold running Smart Feed version 2.03.0070, but not on older versions or some Moto G devices.

While Motorola has already rolled out a fix, the incident raises questions around pre-installed software on Android phones. Several smartphone brands, especially in the mid-range segment, preload recommendation engines, app discovery services, lock-screen content feeds, and advertising integrations to generate additional revenue streams beyond hardware sales. Brands have faced criticism at various points over notifications, ads, or bundled software experiences on certain devices, though this Motorola situation is different as it drew attention because it involved redirecting traffic through affiliate links.

Motorola says users do not need to take any additional action following the fix, though affected users could previously stop the redirects by disabling the Smart Feed app manually through system settings.

Vivo T5 Lite 44W 5G spotted on Google Play database, India launch expected soon

[highlights]

Vivo T5 Lite 44W 5G could launch with a 6,500mAh battery.

The handset is tipped to feature the Dimensity 6300/6400 SoC.

It will succeed last year's Vivo T4 Lite.

[/highlights]

Vivo's popular T5 series may soon see another model in India. The Vivo T5 Lite 5G has been rumoured for a while, and we have now received what can be called the first official confirmation of the handset. Earlier this month, we revealed that the Vivo T5 Lite 44W 5G is in development, featuring a 6,500mAh battery and 44W charging support. Now, 91mobiles has spotted the Vivo T5 Lite 44W 5G (yes, that's the moniker) on the Google Play Supported devices list.

Vivo T5 Lite 44W 5G Google Play listing

The Vivo T5 Lite 44W 5G smartphone with the model numbers V2553 and V2557 has appeared on the Google Play Supported devices database. This essentially confirms the handset and suggests its imminent launch. Since it appeared on a global database, it could be that the Vivo T5 Lite launches in multiple markets.

The Google Play listing doesn't reveal any specifications of the device, but it does confirm the phone's existence and that it could launch soon.

Vivo T5 Lite 44W 5G: what to expect

Based on our previous leak, the Vivo T5 Lite 44W 5G is tipped to house a 6,500mAh battery with 44W fast charging support. This battery capacity should be enough for an entire day's usage or more, depending on the user. However, power users might want to go for 7,000mAh phones. In comparison to its predecessor, the Vivo T4 Lite has a 6,000mAh battery with 15W charging support. The battery capacity may have received a modest upgrade, but the charging output has been increased by a lot, which should result in quicker top-ups. Otherwise, battery performance will most likely be similar on both phones.

The Vivo T5 Lite is also tipped to feature either the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 or Dimensity 6400 chipset. If it's the latter, then it would be an upgrade as the T4 Lite uses the Dimensity 6300. This chipset is popular in the budget segment and known for delivering capable performance for regular usage.

The smartphone is also expected to come with an IP65 rating, SGS Five-Star drop resistance certification, and military-grade durability as well. An IP65 rating is typical in the budget segment, but the additional durability would definitely give the Vivo T5 Lite an advantage over rivals. The handset could launch in two colour options: Wave Blue and Twilight Shadow.

The Vivo T4 Lite launched in India last June as a budget phone with a starting price of Rs 9,999. It's now costlier with a starting price of Rs 12,999, but still one of the most affordable phones offered by Vivo. Its successor is expected to launch at around the same price, possibly under Rs 15,000. If you're considering a new budget 5G smartphone right now, it would be wise to wait for the official launch of the Vivo T5 Lite 44W 5G, especially if its rumoured features like enhanced battery and faster charging appeal to you.

Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus subscriptions roll out with Story insights, profile customisation and more

Meta has launched Facebook Plus and Instagram Plus subscriptions at USD 3.99 per month, alongside WhatsApp Plus. Here's what the new subscriptions bring.

[highlights]

Meta has launched Facebook Plus and Instagram Plus subscriptions at USD 3.99 per month, alongside WhatsApp Plus.

Instagram Plus adds features such as Story rewatch insights, anonymous Story previews, profile customisation tools, and more.

Meta says the new Plus subscriptions are separate from Meta Verified and will roll out globally in phases.

[/highlights]

Meta is expanding beyond ads and verification badges with a new set of paid subscriptions for its social platforms. The company has officially launched Facebook Plus and Instagram Plus subscriptions at USD 3.99 (around Rs 380) per month each, alongside WhatsApp Plus at USD 2.99 (around Rs 290) per month, as it looks to monetise users across its apps.

The new subscriptions come with extra features, customisation, audience tools, and creator-focused controls. The rollout has started globally, although availability is expected to expand in phases across regions.

Plus plans vs Meta Verified

Meta says the new Plus subscriptions will exist separately from Meta Verified, at least for now. That means users paying for verification, impersonation protection, and support through Meta Verified will not automatically receive these new features.

Instagram Plus appears to be the most feature-heavy offering initially. Subscribers will gain access to additional Story insights, including aggregate rewatch counts and searchable viewer lists. Users can also create unlimited Story audience lists beyond Close Friends, extend Stories beyond 24 hours, preview Stories anonymously, and spotlight one Story per week for additional reach.

Other additions include profile customisation tools such as custom fonts, extra profile pins, animated "Super Heart" reactions, and alternate app icons. Users can also post directly to their profile and highlights without pushing those posts into followers' feeds.

Facebook Plus is expected to offer a similar set of features focused on profile expression and audience controls, while WhatsApp Plus leans more toward personalisation with themes, custom ringtones, premium stickers, additional pinned chats, and expanded list management tools.

Meta is also preparing a wider Meta One subscription umbrella that will include AI-focused plans and professional creator tools. Some of the higher-tier creator plans will eventually include algorithmic promotion tools, expanded analytics, moderation access, and visibility boosts across Facebook and Instagram.

India rollout

Meta hasn't yet confirmed India pricing or a precise India rollout timeline, but the subscriptions are expected to expand gradually through the apps themselves. Users will see subscription options directly within Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp once available. For casual users, many of these additions may feel optional. But Meta appears to be targeting creators, influencers, small businesses, and heavy social users who already rely on Instagram Stories, audience tracking, and engagement tools regularly.

Platforms like Snapchat Plus have shown there is demand for premium social features, but Meta's challenge will be convincing users that Story controls and visibility tools are worth another recurring subscription on top of existing streaming, cloud, and AI services. If you are a professional creator or small business heavily reliant on Instagram Stories for engagement and analytics, the advanced insights and reach tools might justify the monthly cost. However, casual users looking for minor customisations should likely wait to see if more compelling features are added, or if the upcoming Meta One bundle offers better overall value.

Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ Geekbench listing reveals chipset, performance details

[highlights]

Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ is set to launch in India on June 4th.

It will be the most premium offering in the Edge 70 series.

This is the first Pro+ model in the Edge series.

[/highlights]

Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ is launching in India next week as the fourth model in the lineup, joining the Edge 70, Edge 70 Fusion, and Edge 70 Pro. It's also the most premium model with upgrades such as a 3.5x periscope lens officially confirmed. Now, the smartphone has appeared on Geekbench givng us an idea of what to expect from the Edge 70 Pro+'s performance.

Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ Geekbench details

Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ has appeared on Geekbench with the MediaTek MT6899 chipset, which is known to be the Dimensity 8400. chipset. It is a 4nm octa-core processor that powers mid-range smartphones. On Geekbench, the Edge 70 Pro+ has scored 1,722 in single-core and 5,623 in multi-core tests, respectively. Interestingly, the chipset used here is different from the Edge 70 Pro's Dimensity 8500 Extreme, which has higher clock speeds than the Dimensity 8400.

This would mean that the Edge 70 Pro+ may not offer the same or better performance levels than the Edge 70 Pro. The difference shouldn't be too noticeable, but the chipset choice is interesting as the Edge 70 Pro+ would be more expensive.

The Geekbench listing also reveals that the Edge 70 Pro+ features 12GB of RAM and runs Android 16.

Motorola Edge 70 Pro+: what we know so far

The chipset may be a compromise, but the Edge 70 Pro+ will come with the best camera hardware in the lineup. The smartphone is confirmed to house a 50MP periscope lens with 3.5x optical zoom, which would be the biggest upgrade over the Edge 70 Pro. It also gives the Edge 70 Pro+ an advantage in zoom photography, particularly for shooting wildlife and for detailed portraits.

The main camera is a 50MP Sony Lytia 710 sensor with 3.5 degrees optical image stabilisation. Motorola is also adding features for frame stabilisation, night photography, and a 50x AI-powered super zoom pro.

The Edge 70 Pro+ will be available in three Pantone finishes: Pantone Chicory Coffee with a sculpted wood finish, Pantone Stormy Sea with a twill-inspired texture, and Pantone Zinfandel with a satin-luxe finish. An additional button on the left side is also visible, but its functionality hasn't been revealed yet. This could act as a shortcut button for certain features or AI-related features.

The Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ is shaping up to be a premium mid-ranger with a focus on photography and design. It would be a good pick for those who want an upper mid-range Motorola phone with a versatile camera setup, good performance, and a premium design. If you're currently using an old Motorola phone, the Edge 70 Pro+ might be a notable upgrade. Since the launch is only a week away, we should know more details soon.

Xiaomi 17T launching in India with MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset

The Xiaomi 17T is set to launch in India next week and ahead of that, a few of its specifications have been confirmed. Here's what to expect.

[highlights]

Xiaomi has confirmed that the Xiaomi 17T will launch in India on June 4th with the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset.

The smartphone will feature a Leica-tuned triple rear camera setup with a telephoto lens offering up to 5x optical zoom and up to 120x digital zoom.

The Xiaomi 17T series is launching globally on May 28th.

[/highlights]

Xiaomi is set to expand its flagship lineup in India with the launch of the Xiaomi 17T in the country on June 4th. The phone is set to debut globally alongside the Xiaomi 17T Pro on May 28th, but the company has confirmed only the standard model is coming to India. In the run up to the launch day, Xiaomi has revealed a few of the specifications of the 17T including its chipset, camera and a few of the camera details.

Xiaomi 17T chipset and other specifications revealed

Xiaomi has confirmed the Xiaomi 17T will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset, which is the same processor that was found on the POCO X8 Pro. In fact, the chipset is also found on the Redmi Turbo 5, which is expected to make its debut in India in June. The Dimensity 8500 Ultra is a 4nm octa-core chipset designed to deliver sustained gaming performance at a sub-flagship price point.

In addition to the chipset, the company has confirmed the Xiaomi 17T will be powered by 6,500mAh battery that supports 67W charging. That's the bare minimum users expect these days and the battery combined with a relatively efficient Dimensity 8500 Ultra chip could make the Xiaomi 17T appealing for users who prioritise gaming, travel, long screen-on time, or heavy camera usage through the day.

For display, Xiaomi has revealed the phone will ship with TUV Rheinland certifications for low blue light, flicker-free viewing, and circadian-friendly usage. Xiaomi has additionally confirmed a hole-punch display design for the selfie camera.

The company has also revealed that the Xiaomi 17T will feature a Leica-tuned triple rear camera setup. Notably, Xiaomi is bringing a telephoto camera to the device with support for up to 5x optical zoom and up to 10x "optical quality" zoom. As usual, the Leica cameras are being heavily promoted by Xiaomi and will remain one of the USPs of the device.

Meanwhile, the higher-end Xiaomi 17T Pro is confirmed to use the flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset built on a 3nm process, alongside a larger 7,000mAh battery. However, this phone is only launching in select global markets and is not expected to launch in India.

While the POCO X8 Pro with the same chipset is priced at Rs 34,999 in India, the Xiaomi 17T is tipped to be start at Rs 59,999 in the country. The Leica-tuned camera setup with telephoto zoom, the larger 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery, premium display certifications, and potentially better thermals and build could help justify the premium over the POCO X8 Pro. But for buyers focused mainly on gaming or benchmark numbers, the POCO may end up looking like the more rational value pick if real-world performance remains similar.

Xiaomi bringing Samsung-like privacy display feature to its phones with HyperOS 4: tipster

Xiaomi is said to adapt the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra's Privacy Display feature and offer it via HyperOS 4 later this year, claims a tipster.

[highlights]

Xiaomi is reportedly developing a Samsung-style Privacy Display feature that could arrive with HyperOS 4 later this year.

Samsung's Galaxy S26 Ultra uses hardware-based Flex Magic Pixel technology to narrow screen viewing angles and reduce shoulder surfing.

The Xiaomi 18 series could be among the first Xiaomi phones to feature the new privacy-focused display mode.

[/highlights]

Smartphone brands spent the last few years chasing brighter screens, thinner bezels, and increasingly aggressive AI features. But one of the more interesting additions that arrived this year actually made displays harder to see. Samsung introduced a new Privacy Display feature on the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra earlier this year, aimed at stopping people nearby from casually glancing at your screen in public places. Now, a leak suggests Xiaomi is preparing something similar for its own devices.

According to tipster Yogesh Brar, Xiaomi is working on a Samsung-style privacy mode that could arrive with HyperOS 4 later this year. An earlier leak from Digital Chat Station had claimed that Chinese smartphone brands were already testing the feature for upcoming flagship phones, with the Xiaomi 18 series expected to be among the first likely candidates, and the new tip corroborates that.

Galaxy S26 Privacy Display coming on Xiaomi phones?

Samsung's system is hardware-based. The Galaxy S26 Ultra uses a display technology called Flex Magic Pixel that can narrow viewing angles by physically altering pixel behaviour. In practice, it makes the screen much harder to read from the side while keeping the front-facing view clear. That is closer to the privacy modes previously seen on business laptops like HP Sure View and Lenovo PrivacyGuard displays.

Xiaomi's version, however, currently sounds more software-driven. Since the feature is tipped to arrive through HyperOS 4, it may work more like BlackBerry's old Privacy Shade mode, where most of the screen is darkened except for a small active viewing area.

Samsung's Privacy Display has faced criticism for reducing brightness and causing eye strain for some users compared to the previous-generation Galaxy S25 Ultra. A software-based implementation would likely avoid those trade-offs because it would not rely on specialised display hardware.

It could also be easier to scale. If Xiaomi handles the feature through software, there is a good chance it could arrive on older phones through updates instead of being locked to expensive new flagship panels. If display privacy is a critical feature for you, it might be prudent to wait for the official announcement of HyperOS 4 and the Xiaomi 18 series to evaluate Xiaomi's software-based solution against existing hardware options.

DailyObjects launches modular wireless charging system 'Node'

[highlights]

The Node starts at Rs 10,000.

It's available in 2-in-1 and 3-in-one docks.

Each module can be purchased separately.

[/highlights]

DailyObjects has launched 'Node,' a wireless charging system. It's claimed to be the world's first modular wireless charging ecosystem, letting users choose between 2-in-1 and 3-in-1 dock configurations and even personalise the setup according to their preferences. According to DailyObjects, Node is set to introduce a new sub-category that eliminates the need for "conventional chargers that are static, fixed to a desk or tethered by cables."

DailyObjects Node price in India, availability

The Node will be available at a starting price of Rs 10,000, depending on the configuration of modules. The Node ecosystem includes the 'Wireless Charging Phone Stand', 'Wireless Charging Disk', 'Apple Watch Charging Stand', and 'Portable Lamp'. Each of these modules can be placed on the dock or used independently through pogo pin connectivity or USB Type-C port. It can be purchased through DailyObjects' online and select retail platforms.

DailyObjects Node specifications, features

The idea behind DailyObjects Node is to build an ecosystem around a dock-and-go architecture. So, you can charge multiple devices from one single charging mat, or you can detach and use them individually. There are 2-in-1 (65W) and 3-in-1 dock (65W) configurations to choose from, or you can create personalised setups using the interchangeable modules. These can be easily snapped in and out for portability.

The Node includes a phone stand that has a 7,800mAh battery with 25W support, and a 5W charging stand for all Apple Watch models. There's a charging disk with Qi2.2 25W output that can be used to charge smartphones and earbuds. For aesthetics and in true DailyObjects fashion, the Node also includes a Portable Lamp with a 2,600mAh battery that delivers up to 8 hours of backup and three dimming modes for personalised ambient lighting. The lamp is more for aesthetics, so it's something that can be avoided if you don't require it. The Node is powered by a 100W single cable solution, thereby eliminating the need to plug multiple charging cables into one table.

Through Node, DailyObjects aims to offer a one-stop wireless charging solution that's clean and clutter-free at the same time. With support for charging multiple devices at a time and at reasonable charging outputs, the Node can be a convenient option for people who use different kinds of devices. There are wireless charging docks available, but mostly limited to one device. That way, the Node offers a multi-device solution without having to purchase separate ones or charge two to three devices at once. It's also pretty-looking and will match the overall aesthetics of your room.

Since the Node is one of a kind, it can be purchased by those who want a modular and clean wireless charging system. There are options by Belkin and Anker, but they are comparatively more expensive. Also, the flexibility that the Node provides is different too as you can purchase and use the modules purely based on your requirements.

It's worth noting that while the Node may offer convenience, you'd still have to spend at least Rs 10,000 for the complete solution. You're also not getting fast charging speeds as you would with wired chargers. So if you're okay with these compromises, then you can go ahead with the Node.

JioPhone exclusive 4G recharge plans now available for Lava, itel and Nokia feature phones

[highlights]

Jio had 4G recharge plans exclusively for JioPhone and JioBharat devices.

These plans are now available on other brands like Lava and itel.

The move comes shortly after TRAI's directive to not keep tariff plans exclusive to select devices.

[/highlights]

Jio is making some of its recharge plans available to all 4G feature phones. These recharge plans were previously available only on JioPhone and JioBharat devices, which are Jio's 4G feature phones. Now, users of 4G phones from brands like Lava, Itel, and Nokia (HMD) can also use the same recharge plans, according to a report by 91mobiles Hindi. Why is this important? These are affordable 4G plans with several benefits for calls, mobile data, and SMS.

Jio 4G recharge plans for Lava, Itel, and Nokia phones

Jio's decision to make its recharge plans available for other plans may have come from TRAI's recent directive about tariff plans. TRAI had stated that mobile tariff plans shouldn't be exclusive to select devices, as it could create market inequity. Now, Jio's 4G recharge plans for JioPhone and JioBharat handsets are also available for other brands. This way, more consumers have access to the affordable Jio recharge plans.

Jio's 4G recharge plans are comparatively cheaper than those of other telcos like Airtel and Vi, which are close to Rs 200. Jio offers an affordable 4G recharge plan at Rs 123 with a validity of 28 days. The benefits include unlimited voice calling, 0.5GB 4G data per day, and a total of 300 SMS for the entire duration of the plan.

With Jio's 4G recharge plans now available to feature phones from more brands, more consumers will have access to cheaper connectivity. This also gives consumers more options for 4G feature phones from various brands. If you own a compatible 4G feature phone from Lava, Itel, or Nokia, switching to Jio's Rs 123 plan now offers significant savings compared to other telcos.

5G has definitely taken over the smartphone crowd in India, but there's still reportedly around 35 to 40 million active 4G feature phone users. This means that there's still a high demand for 4G feature phones, possibly from the older demographic or in areas where 5G connectivity is still not accessible.

OnePlus Nord 6 price hiked for the second time in a week

The OnePlus Nord 6 has been the subject of another price hike within a week. Here's how much the phone costs now.

[highlights]

The OnePlus Nord 6 now starts at Rs 42,999 for the 8GB + 256GB variant, while the 12GB + 256GB model costs Rs 47,999.

The Nord 6 launched at Rs 38,999 in April.

The smartphone features a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, a 9,000mAh battery, a 165Hz AMOLED display, and up to 512GB UFS 4.1 storage.

[/highlights]

Back in April when the OnePlus Nord 6 had launched, we'd called it one of the best phones to buy under Rs 40,000 in our review. That's not the case anymore, as the phone has been the subject of another price hike within a week.

The latest revision increases the price of the Nord 6 by Rs 1,000 across both storage variants. The 8GB + 256GB model now costs Rs 42,999, up from Rs 41,999 last week. The 12GB + 256GB variant has gone up to Rs 47,999 from Rs 46,999. This comes after a first round of price hikes that took the Nord 6 past the Rs 40,000-mark last week and made it dearer by up to Rs 5,000.

OnePlus Nord 6 new prices

Launch Price

New Price

8GB + 256GB

Rs 38,999

Rs 42,999

12GB + 256GB

Rs 41,999

Rs 47,999

While the company hasn't officially highlighted the case of the price rise, it could be attributed to the rising memory prices that have plagued the industry since the AI wave. Companies are raising prices periodically, which seems to be creating an urgent sense of buying among customers.

The Nord 6 is now no longer competing in the same category it launched in. At around Rs 43,000 to Rs 48,000, the phone now overlaps with devices like the POCO X8 Pro Max and iQOO 15R, both of which focus on performance and gaming-oriented hardware.

Should you buy at the Nord 6 at the new price?

At its new price, the OnePlus Nord 6 is no longer an easy value recommendation, but it still stands out in a few areas that many rivals do not fully match. The biggest advantage is the battery. A 9,000mAh silicon-carbon battery is unusually large for this segment, and paired with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, the Nord 6 is built for heavy daily use. For gamers, travellers, or users who regularly spend long hours on 5G, navigation, video streaming, or hotspot usage, that combination could matter more than having the absolute best camera hardware.

The hardware itself also remains competitive. The 165Hz AMOLED display, LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.1 storage, Wi-Fi 7 support, and strong durability ratings give the phone a more flagship-style specification sheet than most traditional mid-range devices. Features like IP69/IP69K resistance, bypass charging for gaming, and Aqua Touch 2.0 also add practical value.

At the same time, the new pricing changes the competition around it. At close to Rs 48,000 for the 12GB variant, buyers are entering a category where phones from Vivo's V-series and even some discounted flagship models offer stronger camera systems or faster top-end chipsets. The Nord 6 camera setup looks balanced, but the 8MP ultrawide sensor may feel less impressive compared to rivals pushing larger sensor hardware and advanced zoom cameras in this price range.

The lack of wireless charging could also matter for buyers moving up from premium devices. Still, for users prioritising battery endurance, gaming stability, display smoothness, and long-term everyday usability over camera experimentation, the Nord 6 remains a strong option.

OPPO Find X10 tipped with 8,000mAh battery, 165Hz display

The OPPO Find X10 series is starting to come into focus months ahead of launch. Here's what a tipster says about OPPO's next flagship.

[highlights]

The OPPO Find X10 is tipped to feature an 8,000mAh battery, a 6.59-inch 1.5K LTPO display, and up to a 165Hz refresh rate.

The phone could use a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Plus chipset along with a 200MP Samsung primary camera and a periscope telephoto lens.

The OPPO Find X10 series is expected to launch in October and may include the Find X10, Find X10s Pro, Find X10 Pro, Find X10 Pro Max, and Find X10 Ultra.

[/highlights]

Just as we were getting used to the idea of 7,000mAh being the new normal in the Android battery world, OEMs are ready to take things up a notch just after one season. We'd heard of OnePlus and iQOO equipping their upcoming flagships, the OnePlus 16 and iQOO 16, with 9,000mAh and 8,500mAh batteries respectively. Now, OPPO is ensuring its next Find phones don't get left behind in the Silicon-Carbon race.

As per the latest tip coming from China, the standard OPPO Find X10 will arrive with a significantly larger battery, upgraded camera hardware, and a faster display compared to the current-generation model.

OPPO Find X10 specifications tipped early

According to tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, a new OPPO phone powered by a 3nm MediaTek Dimensity chipset is currently being tested in China. While the tipster did not directly mention the device name, earlier leaks and user discussions suggest the handset could be the OPPO Find X10.

The leak points to an 8,000mAh battery on the Find X10, up from the 7,025mAh unit used in the OPPO Find X9. The OPPO Find X10 is also tipped to feature a 6.59-inch 1.5K LTPO display with up to a 165Hz refresh rate. For comparison, the Find X9 offers a 120Hz panel. If accurate, the higher refresh rate could help the phone appeal to gamers and users prioritising smoother animations and touch response.

Camera hardware may also see a major overhaul. The leak suggests OPPO is testing a new 200MP Samsung HPC primary sensor with a large 1/1.3-inch sensor size. Another prototype is reportedly using a slightly smaller 1/1.4-inch sensor. The company is also said to be evaluating two different periscope camera options, including a 64MP sensor and a more advanced 200MP periscope setup. That would mark a shift from the triple 50MP camera arrangement used on the Find X9.

The Find X10 is further tipped to include an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, a customisable AI button, and "full-level" water resistance. The device could run on a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Plus chipset, although previous reports have also pointed towards the Dimensity 9600 series for the broader Find X10 lineup.

OPPO is expected to unveil the series in October, with multiple variants including the Find X10s Pro, Find X10 Pro, Find X10 Pro Max, and Find X10 Ultra. Early leaks suggest OPPO may be trying to balance performance, battery life, and camera hardware more aggressively this year rather than focusing only on premium design. If the final specifications hold up, the Find X10 could compete closely with flagship offerings from OnePlus and iQOO, especially for users looking for larger batteries without stepping into gaming-phone territory.

Samsung launches 2026 Vision AI TV lineup in India with 72 models, including its first Micro RGB TVs

Samsung launches 2026 Vision AI TV lineup in India with 72 models, including new Micro RGB, OLED, Neo QLED, The Frame and Mini LED TVs starting at Rs 36,990.

[highlights]

Samsung India has launched its 2026 Vision AI TV lineup with 72 models across different product lineups.

Samsung's Vision AI Companion is now available on all Samsung 4K and above TVs

The new Micro RGB technology debuts in India in 55‑inch to 115‑inch sizes, while the full series starts at Rs 36,990 and goes up to Rs 124,990.

[/highlights]

Samsung India has launched its 2026 TV lineup, which includes 72 models across Micro RGB, OLED, Neo QLED, The Frame, Mini LED and UHD ranges. What makes this launch different is that almost all of these TVs now come with Samsung's "Vision AI" system built in, which is essentially a layer of AI that helps the TV understand what you're watching and adjust picture and sound automatically, without you having to tweak settings.

At its core, Vision AI (through Vision AI Companion) does three main things for the user:

It helps you decide what to watch by suggesting shows, movies, sports and even music or food based on your preferences, using Bixby, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot.

Improves picture quality in real time by upscaling lower‑resolution content, making colours more vivid and adjusting contrast scene by scene.

Delivers improved sound by balancing dialogue, background music and sound effects and by optimising sports broadcasts for smoother motion and more immersive stadium audio.

This year, Samsung has expanded Vision AI Companion to all 4K and above TVs, which means these AI features are no longer limited to the most expensive models. The new lineup starts at Rs 36,990 for UHD TVs and goes up to Rs 124,990 for the new Micro RGB range, which is Samsung's first premium TV technology in India of this kind. Let's explore these machines and what they bring to the table in a little more detail below.

Micro RGB: Samsung's new premium large‑screen TV

Micro RGB is Samsung's new premium TV technology, and it is launching in India for the first time. It comes in the R95H and R85H series, from 55 inches up to 115 inches. The panel uses red, green and blue micro-LEDs for precise brightness and colour control.

The panel uses red, green and blue micro‑LEDs for precise brightness and colour control. In everyday use, this means colours look more natural, bright scenes look detailed, and dark scenes still show details in the shadows instead of turning into a flat black block. It supports 100 percent BT.2020 colour, which is a wide colour standard that helps keep tones accurate across movies and games.

The Glare-Free feature reduces reflections in bright rooms, so you can watch in daylight or well‑lit living spaces without losing contrast. AI Engine Pro, Color Booster Pro and HDR Pro adjust colour, motion and contrast per scene, so you do not need to fiddle with picture settings as the content changes. The R95H also has Safety for Eyes and Circadian Rhythm Display certifications from VDE, which means it is designed to reduce eye strain and manage blue light more carefully over long viewing sessions.

The Micro RGB lineup starts at Rs 124,990. It is best for buyers who want a 65‑inch or larger TV with top‑tier picture quality for a home theatre setup.

OLED: Deep blacks, high contrast and better motion

Samsung's 2026 OLED line includes the S95H, S90H and S85H. These TVs use OLED panels, which can turn individual pixels on and off. This helps the display output perfect blacks and very high contrast, so dark scenes look deep and detailed instead of grey or washed out. Glare Free now also appears on the S90H, not just the S95H, so both models can maintain good contrast and colour even in brighter rooms.

The S95H adds Pantone Validated ArtfulColor for more accurate colours in art and media, Art Store access so you can display curated artwork in Art Mode, and FloatLayer Design that makes the TV look more like a floating panel on the wall. All three OLED models support AI Soccer Mode (Pro on S95H and S90H, standard on S85H), which optimises picture and sound for sports in real time. For viewers, this means smoother ball movement, more vivid colours and a more immersive stadium audio experience.

OLED TVs include the Ultimate Gaming Pack with Motion Xcelerator 165Hz, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G‑SYNC Compatible support. For gamers, this keeps fast motion smooth and responsive and reduces screen tearing and stutter when using PCs and consoles. The OLED range starts at Rs 114,990 and suits buyers who want deep blacks, high contrast and good gaming performance, especially in darker or controlled‑light rooms.

The Frame TV

The Frame (LS03H) uses a frame-style design and displays artwork when turned off, so the TV looks more like a picture frame than a black screen. It uses QLED, includes Glare Free to reduce reflections and is Pantone Validated ArtfulColor for more accurate colours in artwork. Vision AI Companion personalises art suggestions and content recommendations based on your preferences.

You get access to 3,000+ curated artworks and can adjust how they look to match your room. For everyday use, The Frame works as both a TV and a piece of décor, which is useful in living rooms, bedrooms or spaces where the TV is often in view. It starts at Rs 56,990 and suits buyers who care about how the TV looks in their home and want it to blend into the room as art.

Neo QLED and Mini LED: bright, AI‑enhanced mid‑range TVs

Neo QLED (QN80H and QN70H) uses Samsung's Quantum Mini LED backlight and a quantum dot sheet for stable colour and deep contrast, even at high brightness. In everyday use, the TV can get very bright for HDR content while still keeping dark areas detailed and not appear washed out. The panels are certified as Real QLED by TÜV Rheinland, which indicates consistent colour volume and picture performance.

Neo QLED TVs include Vision AI Companion, 4K Upscaling to improve lower‑resolution content, and the NQ4 AI Processor that optimises picture and sound per scene. Select models support up to 144Hz gaming output, which helps keep fast motion smooth in competitive games. The Neo QLED range starts at Rs 52,990 and suits buyers who want strong brightness, good contrast and AI features for bright rooms and mainstream viewing.

Mini LED (M80H and M70H) starts at Rs 42,990 and uses smaller LEDs for more precise backlight control than standard LED TVs. This gives better contrast and deeper blacks, though not at the same level as OLED. Mini LED models include Motion Xcelerator 144Hz, NQ4 AI Gen2 Processor, AI Sound Controller and AI picture optimisation. For users, this means smoother fast motion, clearer dialogue and more balanced sound in movies, sports and games.

Both Neo QLED and Mini LED are good middle-ground options for buyers who want good brightness for bright rooms, AI features and gaming support without paying a premium.

UHD TVs: Entry‑level AI TVs

UHD TVs start at Rs 36,990 and are Samsung's entry‑level models in the 2026 lineup. They do not have the same premium panels or brightness as Neo QLED, OLED or Micro RGB, but they still get Vision AI Companion and basic AI upscaling and sound features.

In everyday use, this implies that the TV can improve lower‑resolution content like cable TV or older streaming videos, and it can suggest shows and movies based on your preferences without you needing to dig through menus. The picture is still good for the price, but you will not get the same contrast, black levels or brightness as the higher‑end models.

UHD TVs suit budget buyers or users who want a secondary TV in a bedroom, kitchen or guest room, where you mainly watch streaming content, cable TV and YouTube and do not need the highest picture quality.

While the sheer number of models is impressive, the main highlight here is Samsung's aggressive push of Vision AI across its mid‑range and even entry‑level TVs. Micro RGB, while exciting, will likely remain a niche for ultra‑premium buyers, but its presence signals Samsung's long‑term vision for AI‑driven, large‑screen home theatre setups. Overall, the 2026 lineup is steady across segments: it brings useful AI features to more affordable models, expands OLED and premium options for premium consumers, and gives budget buyers a good entry point into AI TVs.

Big batteries are a common trend among smartphones now, with 7,000mAh becoming the standard capacity. The Dimensity 6300 chipset is quite underwhelming for its price, and is good enough for regular usage, but not for intensive tasks. In comparison, rivals like the Motorola Edge 70 come with the faster Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 SoC. The camera setup is also decent for casual photography.

The Realme 16T is recommended for those who want a big battery phone with a durable design and dependable everyday performance. If these are your priorities and you're upgrading from an older phone, then you can go ahead and buy the Realme 16T. But if you want better performance and cameras, you might want to check out alternatives.

Vivo X500 Pro could feature 50MP LOFIC primary camera and 64MP periscope lens

The details regarding the Vivo X500 Pro's camera and processor have emerged online, giving us a glimpse of Vivo's next-gen 'Pro' flagship.

[highlights]

The Vivo X500 series is expected to launch in September 2026.

The Vivo X500 Pro could gain LOFIC capabilities on its primary camera, like the Xiaomi 17 Ultra.

The Vivo X500 series could comprise multiple models at launch.

[/highlights]

The Vivo X500 series is expected to succeed the X300 series, with Vivo apparently skipping the X400 moniker. This aligns with the common practice among many Chinese manufacturers of avoiding the number '4' in their product naming. The renowned tipster, Digital Chat Station, has reportedly revealed some key camera specifications of the Vivo X500 Pro.

Vivo X500 Pro could carry a downgraded periscope lens over X300 Pro

According to DCS on Weibo, the Vivo X500 Pro's display is said to be downsized from the X300 Pro, potentially making it a compact smartphone with pro-level camera capabilities. He further notes that the smartphone could carry one of the chipsets from the upcoming MediaTek Dimensity 9600 series, which is rumoured to be based on a 2nm fabrication process. Reports are stating that MediaTek may release the Dimensity 9600 and an even more powerful Dimensity 9600 Pro later this year.

Coming to the main highlight of DCS's post, the tipster states that the engineering prototype of the Vivo X500 Pro could carry a 50MP 1/1.28-inch primary camera with LOFIC capabilities, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 64MP 1/2-inch periscope telephoto with 3x optical zoom. It's worth noting that the X300 Pro was equipped with a superior 200MP 1/1.4-inch periscope lens, which is likely to be reserved for another model in the X500 lineup called the X500 Pro Max, per previous reports.

The 64MP periscope in question is said to be a new sensor from Sony, likely the IMX06H, which DCS reveals while answering a query in the comments. We've previously seen a similar 64MP periscope lens in older phones, such as the OnePlus 12 and Motorola Edge 50 Ultra from 2024. It's likely that this new sensor from Sony is producing promising results in Vivo's testing and could end up being a replacement for the heavily used 1/2-inch Sony LYT600 lens used on telephoto lenses on multiple Vivo high-end phones.

Coming to the 50MP primary camera, with LOFIC on board, the camera should be able to shoot images with a wider dynamic range natively in a single shot, resulting in well-exposed light sources with rich details. We've previously seen the same technology being used on the Xiaomi 17 Ultra (review), which completely impressed us with its low-light capabilities through the primary camera.

In other news, the Vivo X500 lineup could consist of four smartphones at launch, comprising the standard Vivo X500, X500e, X500 Pro, and X500 Pro Max, while the Vivo X500 Ultra may launch in the second quarter of 2027. More models in the lineup could allow the company to offer options at different price points, especially in an era when smartphone prices are at record highs.

Redmi 17 with 7,000mAh+ battery tipped to launch in India alongside Redmi Turbo 5

[highlights]

Redmi 17 will launch as a big battery 5G phone in the budget segment.

It could be powered by a Snapdragon 4 series chipset.

Redmi 17 hasn't been teased officially yet.

[/highlights]

Xiaomi has a busy month ahead with the Xiaomi 17T set to make its India debut on June 4th. Redmi Turbo 5 is also teased to launch in India as a new performance-focused smartphone. A new leak now suggests we might be getting another Redmi smartphone launching alongside the Redmi Turbo 5. This could be the Redmi 17 smartphone, which, as the name suggests, will succeed the Redmi 15 that launched in India last year in August. Here's what to expect from the upcoming Redmi launch in India.

Redmi 17 India launch tipped

According to a report by Smartprix, citing tipster Yogesh Brar, Redmi is planning to launch an affordable 5G smartphone alongside the Redmi Turbo 5, which is the Redmi 17. This smartphone will be aimed at the budget crowd as a new 5G smartphone at an affordable price. In terms of specifications, it could house an LCD display with a high refresh rate and a Snapdragon 4 series chipset. It's also tipped to come with a battery larger than 7,000mAh, a 50MP primary camera, and an 8MP front camera.

Redmi 17 would succeed the Redmi 15, which launched in India last September. Xiaomi skipped the '16' branding this time and jumped straight to 17, so the hierarchy makes sense. Redmi 15 launched as a big battery phone with a 7000mAh cell, a very large 6.9-inch display with a 144Hz refresh rate, and more. Redmi 17 appears to bring upgrades to the Redmi, but the chipset may be a downgrade as the Snapdragon 4 series is tipped, and the Redmi 15 uses the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 SoC.

However, it's best to wait for more details before jumping to conclusions. One thing we can expect is a bump in pricing, considering the ongoing situation in the smartphone industry. Redmi 15 is currently priced at Rs 20,499, which is also after a price hike, so we can expect the Redmi 17 to cost around the same or higher.

This is the first we're hearing about the Redmi 17, so we should wait for more concrete details. There's no official launch date for the Redmi Turbo 5 yet, but it's tipped to launch in India early June, so it shouldn't be long till we know more. The Redmi 17 could be worth waiting for if your priorities include a budget 5G phone with a large battery capacity, and possibly a large display too. If you're on an older Redmi phone or 4G handset, this could be a notable upgrade.

iQOO 16 tipped to come with 8,500mAh battery, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset

The iQOO 16 launch is still a couple of months away but leaks have started surfacing on what to expect from the next flagship. Here's the latest.

[highlights]

The iQOO 16 is tipped to feature Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset and an 8,500mAh battery.

The phone may offer a flat 2K display with an ultra-high refresh rate and upgraded thermal management.

The iQOO 16 is also rumoured to include a periscope telephoto camera and could launch in India shortly after its China debut.

[/highlights]

We're not done with our flagship launch season of 2025-2026 yet, and leak circles are already abuzz with what to expect from the next gen of top-tier Android phones. A new tip from China sheds light on the what to expect from the iQOO 16, which will debut later this year.

As per tipster Digital Chat Station, the rumoured iQOO 16 is said to be in testing with Qualcomm's next-generation Snapdragon chipset, a high-resolution display, and what could become one of the largest batteries in the premium smartphone segment.

iQOO 16 battery, display, chipset tipped early

On Weibo, DCS claims an engineering prototype of the iQOO 16 is currently being tested with Qualcomm's SM8975 processor, which is widely expected to launch as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro SoC. The leak also claims the handset could feature an 8,500mAh battery, which would be a noticeable jump from the already large 7,000mAh unit inside the current-generation iQOO 15.

Now while we were just getting used to the idea of 7,000mAh+ batteries packed inside slim flagship bodies, we're already entering the era when 8,000mAh+ may become the new benchmark. That's because even the OnePlus 16 is tipped to come with a 9,000mAh battery, which is what we saw debut on the OnePlus Nord 6. So iQOO may not be breaking new ground but just trying to keep up with the competition.

The leak further suggests that the iQOO 16 may feature a flat 2K display with an "ultra-high" refresh rate. While the exact figure has not been revealed, iQOO's recent flagships have focused heavily on gaming performance, touch responsiveness, and sustained frame rates. Here also, the competition would be OnePlus whose next flagship is tipped to come with a 200Hz+ refresh rate. We aren't sure if iQOO will cross that benchmark or not, but gamers should know that only certain titles will support such high refresh rates.

Snapdragon is widely tipped to adopt a two-tier chip strategy for its next gen flagship chipset. As per leaks, there could be a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Gen 6 Pro, to help distinguish and even create some cost differentiation between the standard and "Ultra" models. If iQOO 16 already packs the 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset, we aren't sure where that would leave the next gen iQOO "Ultra" phone.

The Indian variant of the iQOO 15 already ships with a 6.85-inch 2K LTPO AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, alongside the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and an 8K VC cooling system. The upcoming model is also tipped to include an upgraded thermal management system and an in-house performance chip to improve gaming and long-duration workloads.

Interestingly, the prototype reportedly does not include a built-in cooling fan. That could indicate iQOO is relying more on internal vapour chamber cooling and software-level thermal tuning rather than active cooling hardware.

iQOO 16 launch timeline

The iQOO 16 will most certainly launch after the Snapdragon summit that generally happens in October. However, IMEI listings of the phone have already started surfacing. The iQOO 16 is likely to target buyers looking for a high-performance flagship with fewer compromises on battery life. For users prioritising gaming, long screen-on time, and fast charging, the phone could become a strong alternative to premium offerings from Xiaomi and OnePlus.

Xiaomi 17T Pro battery and chipset details confirmed ahead of launch

The Xiaomi 17T series is launching globally this week and the company has started confirming the specifications of the 17T Pro. Here's what to expect.

[highlights]

Xiaomi has confirmed that the Xiaomi 17T Pro will feature a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery.

It will pack the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset.

Only the Xiaomi 17T is expected to launch in India, while the Xiaomi 17T Pro is currently confirmed for global markets.

[/highlights]

Xiaomi is readying its next set of flagships for release and teasers have started spilling the beans on what to expect from the next T-series of phones. The Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro are confirmed to launch globally on May 28th and ahead of that, the company has confirmed the chipset and battery details of the Pro model. That model is not launching in India as Xiaomi has only confirmed the 17T for the India debut on June 4th.

Xiaomi 17T Pro chipset, battery specifications

The Xiaomi 17T Pro is confirmed to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset. This is not a "sub-flagship" processor by any means and powers the Vivo X300 and Vivo X300 Pro, and OPPO Find X9 and X9 Pro models. In contrast, Xiaomi's standard flagship, the Xiaomi 17 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Compared to the Qualcomm chipset, the Dimensity 9500 has a more powerful GPU, stays significantly cooler, and uses less battery under heavy gaming loads.

Speaking of battery, the Xiaomi 17T is confirmed to pack a 7,000mAh Si-C cell, larger than the standard 17's 6,330mAh. The 17T Pro appears to be taking a different approach by prioritising battery size and multimedia-focused hardware. When Xiaomi launched its 17 series flagship phones late last year, 7,000mAh batteries in cellphones was just starting to become normal. So with the 17T Pro, the company may be trying to make up for the relatively smaller battery in the standard model.

According to recent leaks, the Xiaomi 17T Pro could feature a 6.83-inch display with a 144Hz refresh rate, a triple rear camera setup, and a 32MP front camera. The standard Xiaomi 17T, meanwhile, is tipped to come with a smaller 6.59-inch display, a 50MP primary rear camera, a 32MP selfie camera, and a 6,500mAh battery. It is also expected to use the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset.

For Indian buyers, the absence of the Xiaomi 17T Pro may leave the standard 17T carrying most of the series' appeal locally. If Xiaomi prices it aggressively, the phone could target users looking for a balance between battery life, camera hardware, and flagship-style performance without moving into ultra-premium pricing territory.

Realme P4 Power, Realme P4 and more phones now costlier by up to Rs 3,000

[highlights]

Realme has hiked prices of more of its smartphones.

These phones are costlier by Rs 3,000.

It includes phones launched this year and last year.

[/highlights]

Realme smartphones have been seeing a price hike across models like the Realme 16 Pro series, Realme C-series, and more. Now, more Realme phones are seeing price hikes in India. These include the Realme P4, Realme P4x, Realme P4 Power, and Realme P4 Lite 4G, which are priced across the budget and mid-range segments. It looks like there's no stopping these price hikes as smartphone OEMs face the brunt of rising memory costs.

Realme P series price hike

Starting with the Realme P4, this smartphone has received a price hike of Rs 3,000, bringing its price up to Rs 23,999 from Rs 20,999. The Realme P4 now sits in a different price segment, but it's still a capable mid-ranger with a powerful Dimensity 7400 Ultra SoC, a large 7,000mAh battery, and reliable cameras.

Here's a breakdown of the Realme P4 price hike.

Variant

Old price

New price

6/128GB

Rs 20,999

Rs 23,999

8/128GB

Rs 21,999

Rs 24,999

8/256GB

Rs 23,999

Rs 26,999

Realme P4 Power, the 10,001mAh battery phone, is also costlier by Rs 2,000. The 8GB + 128GB variant, which was earlier priced at Rs 27,999, is now available at Rs 29,999. All three variants of the Realme P4 Power have received price hikes. This smartphone's highlight is undoubtedly its massive battery that can last around two days with extensive usage. The Realme P4 Power also offers a large and smooth display, reliable cameras, and dependable performance overall.

Variant

Old price

New price

8/128GB

Rs 27,999

Rs 29,999

8/256GB

Rs 29,999

Rs 31,999

12/256GB

Rs 32,999

Rs 34,999

Realme P4x and P4 Lite 4G have also received price hikes in India. The P4x, which was earlier priced at Rs 19,999, is now available at Rs 21,499. As for the P4 Lite 4G, this budget phone is also costlier, but by a little. The 4GB + 64GB variant is now priced at Rs 11,999, after an increase of Rs 1,000.

Realme P4x:
6/128: Rs 19,999 → Rs 21,499
8/128GB: Rs 21,499 → Rs 23,499

P4 lite 4G:
4/64GB: Rs 10,999 → Rs 11,999
4/128GB: Rs 12,999 → Rs 13,999

Not just Realme, almost every brand has been hiking prices across categories, and even new phones are launching at much higher prices than expected. So, even though these Realme phones are more expensive than before, the competition has also adjusted accordingly. With no respite expected soon, it would be better to go ahead and purchase a phone before more price hikes arrive.

Lava Shark 2 5G launched in India with a 120Hz display and 6,000mAh battery

The Lava Shark 2 has launched in India and here's what the phone brings for users.

[highlights]

Lava has launched the Shark 2 5G in India at Rs 11,999.

It comes with a with a 6.75-inch 120Hz HD+ display, Unisoc T8200 chipset, and a 6,000mAh battery.

The phone runs Android 16 and comes with one Android OS update promise plus two years of security updates.

[/highlights]

Lava has launched the Shark 2 5G in India in the budget 5G segment. The Shark 2 5G follows the Lava Shark 4G launched in March and the Shark 5G announced in May. The company seems to be trying to build an entire Shark lineup in the under-Rs 15,000 category where Redmi, POCO, Realme, Motorola, Infinix, and Tecno remain extremely aggressive.

Price and availability

The Lava Shark 2 5G comes in a single 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant, priced at Rs 11,999. It's available in Sonar Gold and Arya Blue colour options and will go on sale in India starting June 10th through offline retail stores.

Lava is also continuing its "Free Service @ Home" programme with the phone. For buyers in smaller cities and towns, reliable after-sales support can end up mattering far more over the life of the phone.

Specifications

The Lava Shark 2 5G is powered by the Unisoc T8200 chipset built on a 6nm process. Lava says the processor crosses 500,000 points on AnTuTu v11, which should translate into fairly comfortable day-to-day performance for regular users. Social media, streaming, multitasking, navigation, and casual gaming should all be manageable without major issues.

The phone comes in a single 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant, along with support for up to 4GB virtual RAM and expandable storage up to 1TB through a microSD card. On the front is a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Budget phones have started adopting high refresh rate displays quite aggressively over the past couple of years, and while the panel here is still HD+, smoother scrolling and animations do make these devices feel noticeably less sluggish during everyday use.

Battery life is clearly one of the main priorities. The Shark 2 packs a 6,000mAh battery with support for 18W charging. The slightly odd part is that Lava only includes a 10W charger inside the box, so charging speeds may feel slower compared to some competing devices.

One area where Lava still manages to stand apart a bit is software. The Shark 2 runs clean Android 16 with no ads or pre-installed apps. That sounds like a small thing until you use enough budget phones overloaded with notifications, duplicate apps, and promotional pop-ups. Other features include IP64 dust and water resistance, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, 13MP rear camera, 5MP selfie camera, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Shark 2 looks less like a performance-first device and more like a practical everyday smartphone. Instead of chasing the fastest charging speeds or gaming-heavy branding, the company is leaning into clean software, dependable battery life, basic durability, and easier after-sales support.
