The iQOO 16 is launching in China on September 14th as the brand’s latest flagship smartphone. The smartphone is getting a revamp in terms of design, which looks like the most ambitious one so far. The iQOO 16 looks quite futuristic in terms of the camera design and is unlike anything we’ve seen on previous iQOO flagships. The rear panel also uses holographic technology. The iQOO 16’s camera design is quite distinct, showing three sensors tucked in a square border but arranged in a connected triangular layout. According to iQOO, the camera module draws inspiration from a spacecraft porthole, with its three cameras arranged within a mechanical-looking structure. The setup forms a navigation-marker-inspired design, while the camera island sits against a hexagonal technical pattern. Transparent glass elements complete the overall look.

iQOO has officially revealed its next flagship and confirmed that it will launch in China by the end of September.

The rear panel also has visible geometric patterns and a holographic design. The phone introduces what iQOO calls an industry-first laser holographic imaging finish designed to create a more dynamic look. It uses four precision techniques to produce a 3D light effect, with red holographic patterns and blue light appearing to flow across the back panel. The effect changes as the phone is tilted or viewed from different angles, giving the design a constantly shifting look.
This is for the ‘Chasing Light’ variant of the iQOO 16. The handset is also expected to launch in ‘Track and Legend’, which has been an ongoing trend for iQOO phones.
The camera design also confirms 100x zoom, which would be digital zoom. The iQOO 16 is expected to feature a 50MP periscope telephoto lens in addition to a 50MP primary sensor and a 50MP ultra-wide sensor. The iQOO 16 is also expected to be the first phone to use the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset, which could give it an advantage over upcoming rival flagships in terms of raw performance.
