Samsung has quietly added another phone to its budget 5G lineup: the Galaxy A07 5G. There hasn’t been an announcement but the phone has been listed on Samsung’s websites in Thailand and Myanmar with its pricing and specifications. It sits above the Galaxy A07 4G and succeeds the Galaxy A06 5G, which is currently Samsung’s most affordable 5G phone in markets like India.
In Thailand, the Galaxy A07 5G is available in two versions. The base model with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at THB 5,499 (roughly Rs 15,800). The higher variant with 6GB RAM and the same storage costs THB 5,999 (around Rs 17,200). Samsung is offering the phone in Black and Light Violet colour options.
The phone gets a 6.7-inch HD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 800 nits. Compared to the Galaxy A06 5G, which also has a 6.7-inch HD+ panel but is limited to a 90Hz refresh rate, this should feel smoother in day-to-day use. The resolution is still fairly basic, especially next to Full HD+ screens offered by some competitors, but for scrolling and casual viewing, the higher refresh rate should help.
Inside, the Galaxy A07 5G runs on a 6nm octa-core chipset, which is most likely the MediaTek Dimensity 6300. Since this is the same chip used in the Galaxy A06 5G, there won’t be much of a jump in performance. It should handle everyday tasks like browsing, messaging, and streaming without trouble, but it’s not for users who want strong gaming performance. Samsung offers up to 6GB of RAM this time, which should help the phone feel usable for longer.
Software is one area where the A07 5G clearly pulls ahead. The Galaxy A07 5G ships with Android 16 and One UI 8, and Samsung is promising six major Android updates along with six years of security patches. That’s a much longer update commitment than the Galaxy A06 5G which capped at four years, and quite rare in the budget 5G space.
The camera setup is familiar. You get a 50MP main rear camera paired with a 2MP depth sensor, along with an 8MP front camera. It’s the same setup seen on the A06 5G, so expectations should be set accordingly. Battery life though should be a strong point. The Galaxy A07 5G packs a 6,000mAh battery, which is noticeably larger than the 5,000mAh unit in the A06 5G. It supports 25W wired charging over USB Type-C, which is decent for the segment, though not the fastest around. Other features include IP54 dust and splash resistance and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
If Samsung brings the Galaxy A07 5G to India, pricing will matter a lot. The Galaxy A06 5G started at around Rs 10,499, and with prices rising across segments, the A07 5G is likely to be positioned higher. At that price, it makes sense for buyers who care more about long-term software support and battery life than raw performance. Those looking for sharper displays or faster charging may still find better options elsewhere, depending on how Samsung prices it locally.
