However, thanks to right-to-repair campaigns, several manufacturers are making smartphones with more repair-friendly designs, like the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.

After removing the back panel and revealing the guts of the Galaxy S23 Ultra, the YouTuber showcases that the device’s battery is removable, with a plastic pull tap on top saying: Pull out. You can pull the battery out with your hands without reaching out for tools. This subtle change on the inside of the S23 Ultra makes it more repair-friendly, as it’s now easier to change a deteriorated battery with a fresh one.

Samsung overly applied adhesive to the battery in the Galaxy S22 Ultra, making it extremely difficult for a layman without specialised tools to remove it from the phone. To do so, one would need to soften the adhesive using isopropyl alcohol.
