Galaxy S25 battery AI feature details

  • According to tipster PandaFlash (via Wfcctech), Samsung is planning to introduce a ‘Battery AI’ feature for future Galaxy S phones.
  • Galaxy S25 wasn’t mentioned but it’s believed that the new AI feature will debut with the next-gen flagships.
  • This Battery AI feature is said to offer a 5-10 percent increase in the total runtime of the phone. The tipster adds that this feature might detect and end unnecessary background tasks that should help deliver a longer battery backup.
  • But this battery-boosting feature might have a negative effect as it might downclock the CPU and GPU, and limit the 5G modem’s maximum capability, according to the Wfcctech report

It’s still too early to determine how exactly this feature will work, and if it’s indeed going to be helpful for the Galaxy S25 series. Since rumours suggest there won’t be any battery upgrades with the Galaxy S25, a feature like this might be helpful.

The Galaxy S25 series is already confirmed to come with more AI features. A Samsung executive had recently said that the Galaxy S25 series will offer more Galaxy AI features powered by Google’s yet-to-be-announced Gemini Nano 2 Large Language Model (LLM) with a focus on on-device AI.

It’s also reported that Samsung might start charging users for some premium AI features. With the Galaxy S24, Samsung introduced a host of new AI features in collaboration with Google. It’s one area the brand is heavily focusing on like other smartphone OEMs.
