Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 ‘Slim’ in the works
- Samsung is reportedly working on a Galaxy Z Fold 6 ‘Slim’ that, as the name suggests, will be slimmer in design than the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
- This information comes from Ross Young, the CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants, who says that the ‘Slim’ model will have a display bigger than the Z Fold 6.
- Young adds that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim will cost around the same as the regular version but it won’t have an S Pen slot. This could be the reason behind the slim design of the foldable.
- It’s also speculated that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim might just be the ‘Ultra’ model that has been rumoured for some time now. Samsung hasn’t finalised the name of the foldable, according to Young.
- Panel shipments for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 are said to start in Q4, 2024 so the foldable will most likely launch in Q1, 2025 alongside the Galaxy S25 series. So even if we don’t get the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim this year, we won’t have to wait until summer next year.
- Its foldable and cover display dimensions will be revealed in the next Foldable Report by DSCC.

A slimmer Galaxy Z Fold 6 might just give Samsung’s foldables an edge over the competition. Samsung might be the pioneer for foldable phones but rival brands are quickly catching up. Vivo is bringing its first foldable to India with the X Fold 3 Pro. It’s touted to be the slimmest and lightest foldable yet in the country. The handset is also the only foldable to feature the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
