Vivo V60 India launch date officially confrmed, key specifications revealed

The Vivo V60 is set to launch in India on August 12th at 12 pm. This mid-range phone succeeds the Vivo V50, which debuted in February. Vivo typically refreshes its V-series every five to six months, and the V60 looks like a meaningful upgrade with a bigger battery, new chipset, and revamped cameras. It also continues the brand’s Zeiss partnership for enhanced photography. If the pricing remains unchanged, the Vivo V60 is expected to launch under Rs 35,000 in India.

With the Zeiss partnership continuing and India-specific camera modes like Wedding vLog, Vivo is clearly positioning the V-series as its photography-first mid-range line – a strategy that helps it stand apart from rivals that lean more on performance or fast charging.

Vivo is upgrading the chipset to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, compared to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 used in the V50 and V40. The new SoC promises a 27 per cent boost in CPU performance, a 30 per cent faster GPU, and 65 per cent better AI performance over its predecessor.

The battery has been upgraded from 6,000mAh on the V50 to a larger 6,500mAh unit. This should easily last a full day even for heavy users, offering more endurance without needing a top-up.

Camera upgrades are a major highlight this time. The V60 gets a 50MP Zeiss super telephoto camera with 10x telephoto stage portrait and Zeiss multi-focal portrait features, addressing the lack of a telephoto lens on the V50. It also features a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary camera with OIS and an ultra-wide sensor.

On the front, the device offers a 50MP wide-angle selfie camera with a 92-degree field of view for group selfies. The V60 will also debut a new Wedding vLog feature, catering to users creating social media-friendly wedding content, a continuation of Vivo’s focus on India-centric camera features.

The V60 adopts a new camera module design similar to the X200 FE. It retains a slim and sleek profile with a quad-curved display. Colour options include Auspicious Gold, Mist Gray, and Moonlit Blue.

The V60 also reflects a broader trend in the mid-range segment, where brands are increasingly pushing premium features like telephoto cameras, larger batteries, and AI tools into phones under Rs 35,000, blurring the line between mid-range and flagship devices.
