Vivo is said to be preparing for the launch of the flagship Vivo X100 series, which will succeed the Vivo X90 series that featured the X90, X90 Pro, and X90 Pro Plus 5G. The Chinese multinational company has not yet announced the official launch date of the X100 series but is most likely to release it in the second half of 2023. Like the X90 lineup, the Vivo X100 series is also expected to come with three models: the Vivo X100, X100 Pro, and X100 Pro Plus. 

The Vivo X100 series is said to come with exceptional camera features and the Vivo X100 Pro Plus 5G camera specifications have now been leaked by tipster Panda is Bald ahead of its launch. The specs were mentioned in a report by TechGoing that cited the tip.

The leak suggests that the Vivo X100 Pro Plus+ come with support for a variable aperture. This kind of tech was earlier featured by a few smartphones, however, it didn’t gain as much success in the market. Consequentially, it was discontinued and companies started launching smartphones with fixed apertures ranging from f1/.5 to f/1.8. A variable aperture allows smartphone users to adjust the main camera aperture in a manual way to control the level of light entering the camera via the sensor.

The report also stated that the Vivo X100 Pro Plus will also come with a periscope telephoto lens, enabling users to experience an enhanced zoom camera to take detailed zoomed shots, even in low light. In addition to this, the smartphone will feature a V3 image signal processor that will help in experiencing better photography and graphics.

Further, an ultra-wide free-form surface lens will enable the X100 Pro Plus 5G users to take wider and clearer shots like for clicking wide landscapes or large group photos. The tipster claims a portrait micro-cloud platform as yet another feature of the smartphone. As per him, this platform uses an advanced algorithm to create stunning portrait shots with exceptional detail and clarity.
