Walmart might be working on a new Google TV streaming device and one with better features. The retail giant launched two cheaper alternatives to the Google Chromecast last year under its ‘Onn’ brand — Onn Google TV 4K Streaming Box priced at $20, and Onn Google TV Full HD Streaming Device priced at $15 in the US. Now Walmart seems to be working on a ‘4K Pro’ version, which will most likely come with a cheaper price tag too.
Walmart’s 4K Pro Google TV streaming device coming soon
- 91mobiles has spotted Walmart’s 4K Pro streaming device with Google TV on the Bluetooth SIG website.
- The listing mentions the device’s name, and that it will feature Bluetooth 5.2 for wireless connectivity.
- It also confirms the device is in the works, and could launch soon.
- Since the other Walmart Google TV streaming devices did not launch in India, it’s unlikely the new version will come here.
There isn’t much that we know about Walmart’s new 4K Pro Google TV streaming device but we can confirm from the moniker that this will be an upgraded model from last year’s model. It could come with better hardware and 4K performance as compared to the regular 4K version. Since the other models are also priced affordably, this one too is expected to come with a pocket-friendly price tag.

The Onn Google TV 4K Streaming Box works mostly like the Google Chromecast. It has a similar UI with content recommendations and popular apps for streaming. You also get Google Chromecast and Google Assistant built-in. The 4K streaming device comes bundled with a white remote that has dedicated buttons for YouTube, Netflix, and Disney+.
It also comes with HDR10 but misses out on Dolby Vision, which is present on the Google device. The new 4K Pro model might come with Dolby Vision as one of the upgrades but this is just speculation for now.
