As Chinese smartphone brand Xiaomi is just a day away from unveiling its flagship camera-centric Xiaomi 13 Ultra in China, the company has revealed the first look of the upcoming smartphone. According to Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is going to be a ‘professional imaging device’. The company has also claimed that at just a 1 per cent charge, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra can last for an hour. Let us look at the images of the upcoming smartphone.
Xiaomi 13 Ultra design, camera details
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra’s back design, as shown in official pictures, remains consistent with the previously leaked appearance. It features a pigmented leather back cover in olive green and a slope line transition beneath the lens module.
The upcoming smartphone features a disc camera module encircled in gold, an integrated metal middle frame, and a back cover made of “second-generation technology nano-skin” material. It also supports IP68 dust-proof and waterproof capabilities.
For image purposes, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will have a Leica Summicron lens, a wide aperture at all focal lengths, and a wide range of coverage from ultra-wide-angle to medium-telephoto to ultra-telephoto.
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra features four Leica cameras, each with a 50 million pixel resolution, large apertures, and support for various shooting modes such as snapshots, night scenes, and 8K video. The IMX989, IMX858, IMX858, and IMX858 sensors are specified. The primary camera will feature “Leica One-inch Variable Aperture” with two aperture options of f/1.9 and f/4.0.
As per the details posted by the CEO on Weibo, cited in an ITHome report, the smartphone has an emergency long battery life mode that can last 60 minutes when the battery is at 1 per cent charge to prevent unexpected power failure.
Xiaomi 13 Ultra specifications (expected)
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra is anticipated to have a 6.7-inch 2K AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device is expected to feature a quad rear camera configuration comprising of a 50MP Sony IMX989 sensor and three 50MP sensors. It is likely that the smartphone will have a 32MP front-facing camera.
It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and will have up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The device is expected to feature a 4,900mAh battery that supports 90W wired and 50W wireless fast charging.
Xiaomi Pad 6 series
Meanwhile, the company is also planning to unveil the Xiaomi Pad 6 Series in China along with the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. It will consist of Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro. The tablets will offer a 144 Hz display and will house an 8,600mAh dual-cell battery with 67W fast charging support. The upcoming Xiaomi Pad 6 is said to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset and, on the other hand, the Pro model will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.
