What’s new with Xiaomi 14 Ultra?

The new Xiaomi 14 Ultra gets the faster Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 on the predecessor. This upgrade offers improved and better performance. The display on the Xiaomi 14 Ultra gets the same 6.7-inch QHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra retails the same leather back panel design as the Xiaomi 13 Ultra and we also get the same large circular module design.

We also get a larger 5300mAh battery compared to the 5000mAh cell on the Xiaomi 13 Pro.

Xiaomi is continuing its partnership with Leica and the Xiaomi 14 Ultra features a Sony LYT900 main sensor compared to a 50MP Sony IMX989 sensor on the 13 Ultra. The company is claiming the resulting images will be better with ample details and rich colours. The low-light performance of the phone is also improved, as per the brand, thanks to a new sensor and better optimisations.

Xiaomi also introduced a new photography suit attachment. This latches on to the phone through a USB Type-C port. This has a 1,500mAh battery on its own and is aimed at offering more control and options to the camera hardware. The photography suit has a wave wheel that allows you to adjust/control the camera options like modes, brightness, etc. There is a video recording shortcut button, which should instantly start recording videos. The photography attachment comes in Black and White colours.

Xiaomi is also introducing satellite communication with the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. This enables emergency communication via satellite when you are in areas where mobile networks are not accessible. The company also launched a signal amplifier in areas where mobile signal is not available. This also covers the camera lenses.
