Since its debut, Xiaomi has been gradually releasing HyperOS updates to eligible devices. Now, the company has initiated the rollout of this update to other phones, such as the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12S, Xiaomi 12S Pro, and more.

Xiaomi phones getting the HyperOS update

Xiaomi 12S, Xiaomi 12S Pro, Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE are among the latest devices to receive the stable HyperOS update.
The Xiaomi 12S and 12S Pro are exclusive to the Chinese market, meaning there are no regional firmware builds available for these models.
However, the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro were released in multiple international markets, resulting in several regional software builds.
The update in China can be distinguished by the following build numbers: Xiaomi 12S Pro – 1.0.3.0.ULECNXM (5.5GB), Xiaomi 12S – 1.0.3.0.ULTCNXM (5.4GB), and Xiaomi 12 – 1.0.2.0.ULCCNXM (5.3GB).
It’s important to highlight that the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE received its final major update with this latest update.

However, the Xiaomi 12 Pro is still eligible for one more major update in the future.
Additionally, the Xiaomi 12 Pro is receiving this update in the global market, while the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE is receiving it in the Chinese market.
The HyperOS updates are identified by the build numbers OS1.0.1.0.ULBMIXM and OS1.0.1.0.UKOCNXM.
It’s anticipated that the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE will also receive the HyperOS update in all other markets soon.
In addition to introducing HyperOS features, the system update also upgrades the Android version to 14.

HyperOS features

HyperOS replaces MIUI as the new operating system for Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO phones.
While HyperOS doesn’t have many visual changes compared to MIUI, it focuses on enhancing performance and efficiency in the background.
The new OS promises faster app startup times and better memory management, particularly for devices with lower RAM capacity.
HyperOS incorporates AI features, such as AI-generated text through the XiaoAi Input Assistant, enabling users to extract text from photos, convert doodles into drawings, and perform image searches using natural language.
Users can utilise their phone’s rear camera as a webcam through features like Xiaomi HyperConnect and Hypermind, enabling mobile data sharing with other devices and receiving notifications on larger screens.
HyperOS introduces additional customisation options for the lockscreen and makes minor adjustments to the control centre and stock apps’ user interface.
