Xiaomi will be the first to launch Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 phones

  • The Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro will be the first to launch with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, according to tipster Yogesh Brar.
  • However, the chipset won’t launch until October this year so there’s still ample time left for the Xiaomi flagships to debut. 
  • The Xiaomi 15 series will be followed by flagships from OnePlus (OnePlus 13) and iQOO (iQOO 13).
  • The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is tipped to be the most expensive smartphone chipset when it arrives. This means the cost of flagships this year might also see a slight price hike.
  • The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is expected to feature 2 big Phoenix CPU cores and 6 medium Phoenix CPU cores.
  • The chipset will be manufactured by TSMC and will use the 2nd gen 3nm process node (N3E).

A fresh new leak has revealed the camera details of the Xiaomi 15 series, courtesy of DigitalChatStation. The company is testing a 50MP periscope sensor and there will be support for a high-magnification telephoto macro shooter. The tipster says the Xiaomi 15 models would come with Qualcomm SM8750, which could be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

Earlier reports said the Xiaomi 15 will retain the same 6.36-inch flat display and is expected to come with an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. Since the leaks are still in the early stages, we suggest you take these details with a pinch of salt.
