Logitech MX Keypad launched in India for AI-powered coding workflows

Logitech has launched the MX Keypad in India, a new addition to its MX lineup designed for developers who use multiple AI coding tools. Instead of relying entirely on keyboard shortcuts and switching between windows, the keypad puts programmable controls for coding tasks, AI agents and commands on dedicated physical keys.

Logitech MX Keypad features

The MX Keypad is designed to work across tools including GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, VS Code and IntelliJ IDEA. Developers can configure individual keys to perform actions in one or several applications, including running prompt macros, refactoring code or launching commands. Logitech is also offering plugins for GitHub Copilot and Claude Code. The company says the idea is to bring different AI-assisted coding workflows together rather than forcing developers to manage each service separately.

The GitHub integration is a major part of the launch. Logitech has worked with GitHub to provide native support for GitHub, VS Code and the GitHub Copilot app, with more functionality planned. Each MX Keypad also includes three months of GitHub Copilot Pro+ for new and existing users, which can be redeemed through Logitech’s Logi Options+ software.

The keypad is not limited to Logitech’s own integrations. Its Logi Actions SDK lets developers create custom tools and integrations, including ones for coding agents. Logitech says developers have already published plugins for Claude Code and OpenAI Codex through the Logi Marketplace. This could make the MX Keypad more useful for developers who have built workflows around several AI services rather than a single coding assistant. The physical keys can also provide controls such as agent status tracking and command-line interface actions.

Price and availability

The Logitech MX Keypad costs Rs 15,999 in India and is available in Graphite. The company says it uses certified post-consumer recycled plastic, with the Graphite model containing 64 percent recycled plastic, while its packaging uses paper from FSC-certified forests and other controlled sources. At the price, the keypad is aimed at professional developers rather than casual users. Its value will depend largely on how much time a developer actually saves by turning frequently used AI and coding commands into dedicated physical controls.
