Ranbir Kapoor had suggested the title of the film Jab Harry Met Sejal.
Shah Rukh Khan asked for suggestions for the name of the movie, when it was decided that they won't name it 'The Ring'. The cash prize was 5000INR. Actor Ranbir Kapoor suggested the name 'Jab Harry met Sejal' and Shah Rukh Khan posted a picture of him giving Ranbir INR 5000 on twitter
The film was initially conceived about a man trying to commit suicide. However, after Shahrukh Khan met Imtiyaz Ali, the former suggested to revitalize the story by making it a more jolly film.
Imtiaz Ali had tried many times to cast Shah Rukh Khan in his earlier films but it did not happen. This film will mark the first time the two will be working together.
