TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

This was Zohra Sehgal's final acting role before her death on July 10, 2014 at the age of 102.

The film had good expectations but in turned out to be a flop,it was released opp Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padhukone's Om Shanti Om on 9th November 2007 during the eve of Diwali.

The film was shot in tones of green, blue and black. In Hindu mythology, blue and green are the colors of Krishna and Manmadha, the gods of love. "Saawariya" means "dark-skinned lover" in Hindi, and was a title given to Krishna.

Cinematographer Ravi K. Chandran used as a reference the works of art by the famous artists Frederick Arthur Bridgman, Fred R Wagner and William Louis Sontag to make the shots resemble paintings and thus look more poetic.

Music director Monty Sharma and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali spent two and a half years working on the film's soundtrack.

Popular Dialogues

"Imaan: [to Sakina] When someone reads a book, I will miss you. When someone sneezes, I will miss you. When someone laughs while he cries and cries while he laughs, I will miss you."

"Lillian 'Lilipop': If that girl is meant for you, then nothing on Earth can keep her from you. And if she isn't meant for you, then nothing on Earth can bring her to you. The decision isn't in your hands; it's in God's. Now we have to see how God decides to place His cross. This way or that way."
