Nokia has refreshed its C-series range of budget smartphones with the addition of the Nokia C31 in India. This model made its debut in the global market a couple of months ago, and now, the company is bringing it to Indian shores. In the press release, Nokia mentioned the phone is built with “elements from one of the toughest manufacturing standards in the world, courtesy of IP52 protection and the durable build quality.”

We are not sure how Nokia measures its phone’s build quality, but they did mention that the phone can at least withstand water splashes thanks to its IP52 protection. The phone should feel lightweight at 200 grams and easy to hold, though, with its overall footprint being 169.2mm x 77.98mm x 8.5mm.

The Nokia C31 India price starts at Rs 9,999 for the base 3GB/32GB variant, while the 4GB/64GB unit retails at Rs 10,999 in India. The phone is purchasable via Nokia.com and retail outlets in three colourways: Charcoal, Mint, and Cyan.

The latest Nokia C-series phone has a 6.7-inch HD screen that supports a 1600×720 pixels resolution. A 5,050mAh battery that supports 10W charging speed keeps the lights on. Powered by Android 12 OS, Nokia ships the C31 with 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB storage, expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.

With the aforementioned storage options, the company claims: “you’ll never be surprised by the storage full notification, as Nokia C31 tells you exactly how much storage you have left for all of your memories.” You’ll get two years of quarterly security updates on the Nokia C31.

Coming to the heart of the device: its processor – the company wants to play a guessing game with its customers. Hint: it’s an Octa-core CPU with four Cortex-A55 clusters clocked at 1.6GHz and four Cortex-A53 clusters clocked at 1.2GHz. It’s Unisoc SC9863A.

Photography on the Nokia C31 is taken care of by a triple rear camera setup, which the company claims to be powered by Google: 13MP primary, 2MP depth, and 2MP macro. There’s a 5MP front-facing snapper for selfies and video chat.
