Airtel 5G services will be available in these 8 cities starting today

We're not exactly sure whether Airtel's 5G services will cover the entirety of Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Varanasi, and other cities starting today. It is likely that customers will be able to use Airtel 5G in select parts of these 8 cities starting today. We already know that the Delhi airport is 5G-ready, and travellers coming in and flying out of the Delhi International Airport are likely to see the Airtel 5G signal starting today.

Following the address by Mukesh Ambani and Sunil Mittal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the official launch of 5G in India. Both Jio and Airtel will begin rolling out 5G services in select cities starting today, with a wider rollout expected in the coming months. While Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi, and Ahmedabad are among the cities to get 5G services first, it might still be a while before users will be able to use 5G network in these cities.

When will you see Airtel 5G network signal?

While Airtel will make its 5G services available in 8 cities starting today, you might not see the Airtel 5G network signal on your phone immediately. Firstly, you will have to be near an Airtel 5G tower and it is unclear where those towers are located at the moment. Secondly, your 5G phone will have to receive an OTA update from the OEM to enable 5G network support by Jio and Airtel. As mentioned earlier, it will be a while before you start seeing the Airtel 5G network signal on your phone.
