Ahead of the inauguration of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya later today, Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi) have announced that they have enhanced the network connectivity in the city. This will help telecom network infrastructure to cover all important locations, including the Airport, railway station, bus stands, landmark areas, hotels and all other important venues in the city.
Airtel and Vi network connectivity in Ayodhya
Airtel
- Airtel says that it has deployed additional network sites, placed cells on wheels and laid optic fibre cable to cover the entire city.
- This comes as a move to not disrupt voice and data services.
- Airtel has installed a few additional sites and BTS to cover the Mandir and its adjoining areas.
- Airtel Fiber has also been installed to cover areas that require high-speed data.
- The telecom network says to have deployed CoW (cell on wheels) each in Ayodhya Dham, Ayodhya Cantt, Ram Bhadra, Brahmakund, Guptar Ghat, Parikrama Marg, Highway, Airport, Katra railway station, Bus stand, and Ramprasth Park.
- Airtel has also placed extra manpower, including network engineers to ensure uninterrupted service across Ayodhya to meet the surge.

- On the other hand, Vi has enhanced its network infrastructure and upgraded existing sites across all major areas of Ayodhya city.
- The telecom network has done so in association with DoT, the government and local authorities (Ayodhya Development Authority, the Department of Public Work Department, the Airport Authority, and the Police).
- This helped the telecom network get speedy approvals in providing space for towers, and movement of material and manpower.
- Vi has improved the network coverage, increased capacity and enhanced backhaul connectivity. This is done by augmenting the network across all spectrum bands.
- Vi has added new sites and upgraded/refarmed L2100 spectrum capacity across Ayodhya Railway Station, Ram Mandir Campus, the Airport, the Railway station and the connecting highways to Lucknow and Varanasi.
