Amazon has launched a new and cheaper membership of its Prime service in India. It’s called Amazon Prime Lite and this service was first made available earlier this year to select customers. Amazon Prime Lite comes with benefits similar to Prime but with slight differences, and at a cheaper price.
Amazon Prime Lite subscription price in India
There is only one plan available for Amazon Prime Lite which is the annual subscription priced at Rs 999. Unlike Amazon Prime, its Lite version doesn’t offer monthly or quarterly subscription plans. You can sign up for Prime Lite membership through Amazon’s website, mobile or Android and iOS apps.
Amazon Prime Lite benefits in India
- Amazon Prime Lite members will get free two-day delivery and standard delivery for which no minimum order is applicable. It also offers free no-rush shipping to eligible addresses, and a cashback of Rs 25. There’s also the option of morning delivery but at Rs 175 per item.
- Amazon Prime Lite members who have the Amazon Pay ICICI Bank credit card can get 5 percent cashback on purchases made on the e-commerce platform. This however excludes digital and gift card purchases since they already 2 percent back along with other rewards.
- Just like the Amazon Prime, the Lite membership also gets you access to Prime Video. You can watch any content available on Prime Video in HD quality and on two devices but with ads.
- Lastly, Amazon Prime Lite members will get early access to lightning deals, exclusive lightning deals and deals of the day.
How is Amazon Prime Lite different from Prime?
In comparison to Prime, the Lite version does offer lesser benefits since it’s also more affordable. Some of these include one-day delivery, same-day delivery, access to the Prime Reading catalogue, Prime Music and Prime Video without ads. It also misses out on ‘Prime Advantage’ which gives you no cost EMI options and six months of free screen replacement. Amazon Prime also comes with free in-game content, and Amazon Family offers.
