Good news for Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) fans as the much-loved mobile game is making a return to India. BGMI was banned in India last year by the government due to security reasons. Krafton has released an official statement confirming BGMI’s comeback, and there’s already a teaser on its Instagram page as well.

The confirmation comes shortly after it was reported that Krafton received approval from the Indian government to relaunch BGMI in India. The company has now released an official statement saying that BGMI will be available to download in India soon. To keep fans excited, the Battlegrounds Mobile India Instagram handle also put out a teaser today saying, “It’s time to switch on notifications.” 

BGMI is rumoured to be back with more changes and adjustments including a time limit and restriction on the number of hours one can play the game. Krafton is also expected to reduce violent graphics in the game by making the green the default colour of blood in BGMI. This was previously optional for players. The reason behind these changes stem from violent incidents in India involving young boys and related to BGMI.  

No BGMI India launch date yet

There’s no specific launch date announced though but with the official statement and teaser, it looks like BGMI will be available very soon in India. Krafton also hasn’t given details on what changes BGMI will go through with its comeback in India, but earlier reports suggested the initial comeback will be more of a testbed for BGMI since the ban will be lifted temporarily for three months.
