- POCO C55 is tipped to be a rebranded version of the Redmi 12C.
Last week, Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi launched the Redmi 12C as a budget-friendly smartphone in China. Industry sources close to 91mobiles have tipped that the phone will release in Indian shores next month. However, the Indian unit should retain the same design and specifications as the Chinese variant. Here’s everything we know about the Redmi 12C’s India launch.
Redmi 12C India launch, specifications
Redmi 12C will launch in India before the MWC 2023 happens in Barcelona, scheduled between February 27th and March 2nd. We expect it to pack the same hardware configuration as its China counterpart. Powered by MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, the Redmi 12C will ship with a 6.71-inch HD+ display. It will pack up to 6GB RAM with 128GB storage. A 5,000mAh battery that supports 10W charging would keep the lights on.
Photography on the Redmi 12C will be taken care of by a 5MP front-facing snapper and a dual rear camera setup: 50MP primary and 0.08MP depth lenses. A precise launch date, Indian pricing, and other details surrounding the Redmi 12C are still under wraps, but we expect to learn more about it in the coming days.
Besides this, leaker Kacper Skrzypek also hinted at the Redmi 12C’s global debut with the POCO C55 moniker. He also added the POCO C55 will come to India. However, according to our sources, the POCO C55 will be launched in India after the company releases the POCO X5 Pro in the country; so mostly after the Redmi 12C launch in India. Expect more details about the POCO C55 to appear online in the coming days.
